Freaking amazing - glad I stopped by during my Toronto visit. This place has a massive line, however it seems they manage it very well, and it doesn't actually take as long as you would think it would. It's located by a food court - so you can swing by there if you wanted to sit and enjoy it right away, however food court was pretty busy, so may take some time for you to actually get a table. The tofu dessert was sooooo satisfying - warm, soft and literally just melts with just the right amount of sweetness - I wanted seconds right away. Yan is a soy master! It's been a while since I've had soy that is so dam smooth. Hot or cold, the soy puddings are fresh and just smooth with the right amount of sweet syrup. We were next door for an impromptu shopping with family. Noticed this tofu and soy drink shop. Memories of these items flooded when we were in Asia and I knew I had to have it again. We took some warm plain tofu and a chocolate tofu. Some family were not sure if they will like it. We loved the plain warm tofu (cold is also available). The chocolate not so much as it is just the same tofu drizzled with Hershey's chocolate sauce. Even after adding the chocolate sauce, the chocolate tofu is still vegan. There is a Ginger version as well, but I gotta leave something for next time. There are soy and almond drinks / milks as well. The warm tofu is just as we had in Asia and fresh, soft and so good. Possibly the BEST hot soft tofu pudding dessert I have ever eaten. The fresh taste, smooth texture plus the ginger (xtra cost) syrup that was not overly sweet brought a smile on my face. A classic soybean shop that use to be in Market Village, before the building got demolished. So happy they reopened at this Denison plaza. The lines are long but so worth the wait! You can get cold or hot tofu flower, soy bean drink by the carton or cup - they even have different flavours of the drink. Flavours include chocolate, original, almond and coconut. Go for the original soy bean drink, you can't go wrong with this. I also got the chocolate to be adventurous but felt it was a tad bit too sweet. Tofu flower was amazing, although I didn't really enjoy that sugar was already put into the tofu flower, rather than having it on the side to add it yourself. If you're in the area, definitely check it out. There's a whole food court area for you to get more food as well - worth a trip! read more

These folks deserve their 5-Star rating, and then some! I am very picky about my soya products, after having enjoyed the best of the best in Korea, Japan and Hong Kong. This little shop purveys exquisitely fresh puddings. The almond flavoured pudding exceeded my expectations. Eaten chilled or warm, it's a delightful, light alternative that is good for you too. Omg I am missing this place so much as I am writing and hate that we are miles apart. The smoothest and softest doufuhua (silken tofu) that you will ever taste. I tried the ginger and almond and theyre both good. I am surprised at how much I love the almond one as well because I am not a fan of almond in dessert. Still the best doufufah. Soy milk more watery, but taste still there somehow. Sad I have to decrease the rating, but they gotta do better with quality control, especially with their soy milk. At least start with some stickers with dates. Ever since the first time, the soy milk has been going bad faster than before. Last time, it went bad in 2 days! Used to buy 2 jugs, then one, and now I don't bother unless we can chug it in one day like during hot pot. One time they gave us one mid defrosting stage with a big chunk of frozen ice bumping around in the middle - just an fyi. I thought it was our fridge or something, but now I've seen other ppl comment on this spoiling issue. Tofu can last awhile, so can't really say if it's super fresh or not. This place needs no introduction but if there must be one... they make their own soybean products (milk, tofu, etc). You can get flavoured or original soy milk by the cup for approx under $2. Or get jars/pitchers if need a bigger volume. And you can purchase containers or tubs of tofu dessert. The flavoured ones are smaller in size but the original in hot or cold come in big tubs. The tubs are a little over $7 for one or two for $14. They are pre sweetened and not too sweet which I enjoyed. We got an almond soy milk and one original cold tub to go. The almond soy milk was slightly sweet and had a nice subtle almond aftertaste. Overall prices and portions are great. Will be back to get more for sure!! read more

I used to go to this shop when was growing up. This used to be in market village. Since they've shut down there, they moved to Dennison center. I love the chocolate soy milk it's so good. It taste just as it did in the past. The coconut and almond soy are also good. They're very subtle. It's about $1.90 per cup. A better deal would be to get the 2L jugs of soy milk. They're 2 for $7 and they have it for most of the flavours except for chocolate. I think chocolate doesn't cannot last that long. They also had the tofu pudding. This is so good! You can tell it's home made. It taste similarly to the soy milk they make! It's very soft and they fill it to the brim. The sweetness level is also good! It's not too sweet! This is a great place to get Chinese sweet soy products & they're cheap too. They have pictures featuring Martin Yan, the famous Chinese-American chef from the 80s & presumably their English name refers to him (the Chinese characters are different though - they seem to be a chain from Hong Kong). The (original) soy milk was great: fresh & with a good soy flavour. The cup serving was pretty cold too (usually you only get it cool). The 2L family jug was great value - only slightly pricier than it'd be in the supermarket. The (original) soy pudding was great: silky smooth, fragrant, fresh & easy to spoon into. Yan's is an amazing hidden gem in Denison Centre in Markham that makes additive free tofu pudding and soy milk fresh on a daily basis. They sell different flavours of tofu pudding including ones with ginger syrup, grass jelly, almond, coconut, or mango pulp. They also sell 2L jugs of soy milk for $3.25 for 1 jug, or $6 for 2 jugs. They also have different flavours of soy milk "on tap" (including chocolate, almond, and coconut) which they sell by the cup ($1.50 plain; $1.75 flavoured). We tried the almond soy milk. It was cold, refreshing, with a very subtle almond flavour and a clean, slightly sweet finish on the palate. We also purchased 2 tubs of hot tofu pudding (which are big!) for $13, irrespective of whether you purchase hot or cold tofu. The tofu pudding comes packed to the lid and includes a lightly sweet syrup to enjoy as is. The tofu pudding was so smooth and comforting, and remained hot for hours. My in-laws (who we gave the second tub to) said this tofu pudding is "better than T&T". I'm looking forward to trying it at home with some grass jelly and tapioca for a special treat. We will definitely be back as a family for more of this healthy and comforting treat! read more

This little shop churns our top notch soy bliss. Freshly brewed soy milk daily, tofu pudding (very soft/ silky tofu) sweetened with a simple ginger syrup in either hot or cold varieties. The shop has a very small bar counter for the eat and dash folks requiring a tofu fix. There are some combos that mixes the soy milk with either fried soy noodles, or pan fried stuffed peppers. It was previously located at Market Village and now moved to a new local. You can expect the same affordable prices as it's previous local. Staff are kind. I bought my own thermos for almond paste tofu pudding ($2.70) to reduce plastic waste and she surprisingly filled it all the way to the top. Needless to say, I was more than delighted. The tofu pudding was as delicious as I remembered, almond paste was average but it complimented the pudding well. My goto at the previous location is coconut sango with tofu pudding. My love for tofu knows no bounds. It's the perfect light breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert food. The tofu pudding here is freaking silllkkkyyyy. This stuff just slips off your spoon and down your throat. Majority of the puddings are $2.75 and you can get them hot or cold for the same price. The Ginger one is hella ginger, totally recommend this if yous a ginger fan. This is more of a takeout joint as there's only 3 bar stool seats available. You can however attempt to grab a seat at the food court but you might have to fight some grannies for a spot. And this place is so close to meeeee.
