One of the best patisserie in Markham. I always order cake for celebration and get their Danish, croissants for breakfast. Bittersweet Chocolate raspberry cake is my favourite. Not only the cake is beautiful but the balanced flavour of chocolate and raspberry are to die for. The mocha pillow croissant is so fluffy and crispy outside with explosive filling. I get the pillow every time I visit. Their mini cakes are tasty and beautiful for afternoon tea pair with nice cup of tea. The shop has some seatings where I can enjoy some quiet me time.

Ordered the peach bichon and gateau basque as a noon pick me up. First time trying both types of pastries because I never seen these available at other Toronto bakeries. The peach bichon had peach chunks, instead of of a puree like a lemon bichon, good but different than what I'm used to. The gateau basque had pear and was not too sweet. Also ordered the mille feuille and 70% chocolate bar. Usually not a fan of Mille feuille but this was amazing, the flavours worked so well together! FYI the Mille feuille is also only available during weekends. Also got the 70% chocolate bar because I love everything chocolate, tasted good but wouldn't get this again because the flavours were too safe. I'd come back and try other fusion flavours. They have seating for dine in. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and were very helpful.

I ordered the Exotic Coconut cake for a birthday. Was going to give this place 5-stars as the flavours were amazing and blended really well together... however, we found a piece of plastic in one of the slices. Definitely expected better since this cake was not cheap for just a 5" cake. :( Update: owner said someone would contact me about this but never heard back via Yelp or from the email I sent them. Changing to 1-star sadly.

Nestled on the streets of Main Street Markham you can find this patisserie. Walked in on the weekend to crab some croissants and the store as empty. Decor was nice and inviting though. The case of baked goods are at the end of the store and it's displayed in a glass case. I ended up grabbing a couple of croissants since it was my first time and wanted to try both sweet and savoury ones. I thought the savoury croissants are a little bit oily when you touch it and definitely coats your mouth with oily when you're biting into it. The texture is flakey though! Love supporting small shops like this so will probably be back to try some of their cakes as well!

Impression: Too many cooks spoil the broth. We had: # Ma Chérie: It had layers of flavours. Topped with the Cherry Blossom tea jelly, Ruby chocolate cream with cherry and raspberry compote, bittersweet chocolate biscuit with caramel crunch. OK writing this already overwhelms me. Eating it was more overwhelming. Just too many things. I do not know what to focus on, and in the end, I could not explain what I just had. # Matcha Opera: OK. This one was more straightforward. The texture was appropriate. The balance of the buttercream, sponge and chocolate was OK but wished it had more layers. # William Noir: They do use good quality chocolate, but the balance of the other ingredients that should be supporting this chocolate flavor - such as pear compote, salted caramel, coffee-crunch - were again, "too much". Each ingredient was fighting with each other rather than harmonizing. # Paris-Brest: Choux pastry was not crisp. Cream, mascarpone and coulis - all with wild strawberry flavor. Lacks texture. The taste was so, so. The presentations are unique and the decorations are flashy but lacks sophistication and detail. Each item feels a trapping of a motivated patissier where he has so many ideas he wants to execute but then the food lacks focus. Ouch. But the service was super friendly and kind. I hope this place will thrive - with more concrete focus for each item. Unfortunate, because they do select good ingredients!

Love this neighborhood in east Markham! I love their pastries and cakes - it's not too sweet which is perfect for the "Asian preferred level of sweetness". Their savoury selections are great, particularly the beef sausage and the miso eggplant! Cakes are delicious - Earl grey js spot on and the berry chocolate combo of the Ma cherie is such a delight! Staff is very friendly and would make recommendations too! They also sell artisan jams and chocolate bars - with ambient lighting and minimalist style furniture it's also the perfect place to pluck down and catch up with friends or just work on your laptop!

Lovely cafe for afternoon tea! The staff was warm and helpful too. Definitely will visit another time! We tried a few dessert and all were delicious. I think they did a good job for their canele! Can't want to try the others and their drink menu.

A little too sweet and overpriced but their earl grey cake was delicious!

Matcha and other pastries were average but the earl grey cake was great. A little overpriced and too sweet. Staff speaks Cantonese

This shop's desserts have a wonderful Hong Kong-style flair that evokes a sense of nostalgia. 呢間舖頭啲甜品好有香港嘅風格,好令人懷念。

This little patisserie sits on Main Street Markham Road. It's mainly street parking but you can also park in one of the lots for Main Street. I had come in for 2 occasions, both of which were quite satisfying. The first time we had ordered online via their website the Yule log. It was a less than 48 hours but upon texting the number on their Facebook site (which leads directly to Chris the chef!!) He provided amazing swift customer service and we were able to pick up about 2 days after despite the website not allowing it (coz it was late already. The log was beautifully done, but a little smaller than expected but still very much decadent. The chestnut wasn't very obvious but the chocolate was very good. The second time, we dropped by to pick up some pastries and a couple of cakes (Mon Mont, chocolate bar and Matcha Opera). They were all very well done. Like another reviewer said, there is a strawberry inside the Mon Mont and it's personal preference. We thought it was interesting and paired decent but yes we would also prefer more chestnut. Not that the dessert wasn't good, we just liked more nut Nonetheless customer service is always good and we are always proud to support local!

I got to try two desserts - Paris-Brest - Wild Strawberry and Ma Chérie and these were quite good. I must've chosen the wrong desserts to try the first time around. The Paris-Brest - Wild Strawberry has Pâte à Choux, wild strawberry cremeux, wild strawberry mascarpone, and wild strawberry coulis. Since we didn't eat this until a few hours after it was purchased the bottom layer was starting to get a bit soggy. Don't put off eating this delicious dessert :P. The filling was so tasty. The strawberry flavour really came through without being overly sweet and the contrasting texture from the Pâte à Choux worked so well. The Ma Chérie has bittersweet chocolate biscuit, cherry & raspberry compote, caramel crunch, ruby chocolate chantilly, and cherry blossom tea jelly. I'm not really a fan of jelly so this top layer didn't appeal to me and I didn't taste the tea. I liked the crunch the chocolate biscuit provided. The flavours in this dessert weren't as pronounced as the Paris-Brest - Wild Strawberry but still flavourful.

Got their take out. It was really delicious. The flavours were decadent and rich but didn't feel overly heavy. Though I only tried their pastries this time, there were also a variety of cakes. I would come back here many times to try new things or have old favourites over and over.

Got a couple desserts and I the flavours are a punch in the face. It bold and tasty!!! I had their strawberry crossiant one and the thick butter cream that was in between was just the right amount. It wasn't like too little or too much. Makes me think about a macaron! The chocolate cherry one was so pretty. Heart broken when we had to take a bite! I love the chocolate almonds that are sold at the store too the one with the berries is my favourite, I loved the chocolate is Infused with the flavours and the exterior is dusted with berry dust so the chocolate has a lil extra flavour n design.

Six assorted desserts. I enjoyed the Tart Au Citron (top right) the most.

Did you know? - Chef Pho was a baking/pastry professor, and he has taught most of the local, well-known pastry chefs in Toronto... you name them, he's taught them lol. And believe it or not, he also created the recipe for the TUXEDO CAKE you see at Costco!! The classic French pastries and desserts here are SO DELICIOUS! Everything is made fresh daily in-house, and they are not too sweet at all ^^ Here are some of my favourites: Plain croissant - light, flaky and crispy! Honestly, the BEST croissant I've ever had. Croissant-making is such a timely and unbelievably meticulous process! Chocolate éclair #mustorder so fresh, and the chocolate and raspberry filling inside was perfect! Tiramisu - made with 5 different liquors, so it is quite strong but it was literally love at first bite! Opera Cake - never had opera cake so fine before! The layers are so distinctive, it was really delicious! I'm so glad to finally meet the team behind DS Confection! I can't wait to be back again to try more creations!
