Located in FMP outside the stores beside Hey Noodles. This place is a small dessert place where they share tables for two seaters if they're busy. There is only about one table for a table of 6 there. The rest of the seatings are 2-4 people only. No booths. The place is with bright lighting with boxes of mangoes by the cashier. No reservations from what I noticed. Service is prompt and quick, really nothing much to it but good that they're fast. Food comes out quick as well. We ordered desserts pomelo, mango one with tofu and the other with grass jelly, both with sago and coconut milk. If you like sago and mango, this is the place to go ! Although they could've given more pomelo in my opinion, but the portion is a big bowl and more than enough sago with a good amount of mango. A classic Chinese dessert place that has been around many many years. Since there are so many reviews on their dessert, I want to bring attention to their snack and clay pot rice. Truly, the clay pot rice is amazing! Perfect crispy rice at the bottom and a lot of Chinese preserved meat (much more than other establishments!) service is ok, normal of a Chinese place. Hands down some of the best traditional Chinese dessert I've had in the greater Toronto area! We came here Sunday night, and every single table was occupied. We got really lucky to be able to walk in around 9pm and were able to take their last table. I had a good idea of what I wanted, as my friend recommended this place for me due to me wanting traditional Chinese desserts. I was able to communicate with the staff in Cantonese, which made me feel even more warm and at home. I had the tofu pudding with syrup. My partner tried the mango pomelo sago. We also did an order of curry fish balls. Everything was amazing. It was not overly sweet or plain, just perfect to my tasting. I also appreciate the syrup on the side because for tofu pudding, the syrup tends to sink to the bottom, so it's best to do it yourself with each bite. The tofu was soft, silky, fresh, and hot off the press which is exactly how it should be. Hot food and cold desserte are a great combination, especially for a late night outing here since they open until late. Crispy chicken wings were the highlight for me. Traditional Chinese desserts! This is as traditional a it gets when you're looking for some Chinese desserts! In the one of the corners of First Markham Place Plaza, you can find this local shop. It's old, and has been around for quite some time but their dessert quality and taste is still there! Expect to be seated in traditional Chinese tables, think round wood and marble tables with wood and marble stools (no back support). The place is cash only but I've heard from a birdie that they also take debit, so make sure you ask! Their food items look pretty good as well. The tables all around me were ordering fried squid which looked and smelled phenomenal. My friends and I opted for the traditional dessert items here though, since we were looking for something sweet after dinner. What we got: Purple glutinous rice with added tofu flower 10/10 - The tofu flower was added for an additional $ (I can't remember how much), and was the perfect sweetness, texture and warmth. Black sesame paste with added tofu flower 8/10 - The black sesame paste was so rich and deep in sesame flavour. The added tofu flower added more texture to the dessert. Ordered it to be hot, but it came warm, and got cold pretty quickly. Highly recommend you check out this dessert spot if you're in the area or craving for some Chinese desserts. read more

Wow have not had traditional desserts in a while and Tracy's is popping! Came on a Friday night and had to wait 5-10 minutes for a table but the turnover was fast. They have a pretty extensive menu that spans across drinks, to sweet soups, to shave ices, to savoury items like clay pot rice and rice noodles. I got the mixed fruit over mango ice and it was pretty good. I think next time I will stick with the sea coconut ice base instead of mango base ha. We finished early dinner and wandered around looking for a dessert place. I wanted matcha ice cream but we couldn't find a place that served it and ended up trying Tracy Dessert. It's a pretty "traditional" looking Chinese dessert place like old-school sweet soups and mango this and that. They had a big sign with HK-style shaved ice in matcha or HK milk tea (and another flavour that I can't remember). I ordered the matcha flavour and chose 3 toppings: mango, strawberry and watermelon. The shaved ice is layered instead of other shaved ice (Taiwanese?) which have the little pebble-like ice. I much prefer the shaved version and the matcha flavour was pretty much like ice cream. The mango chunks were ripe as were the strawberries and watermelon. It definitely satisfied my matcha ice cream craving. 4* The other dessert that we ordered was the mango and grass jelly (楊枝金露) The base was quite nice but the grass jelly was an odd texture. Popped in here on a Saturday night to get some traditional Chinese desserts. I decided to go here because the interior looked a lot more traditional than other modern Asian dessert places like Sugar Marmalade. We had to wait for 10-15 mins for a table as the place was packed. They decided to line the table with a plastic covering to make cleanup easier which I didn't mind at all during covid times. We eventually got seated and my partner and I got the glutinous balls with sesame and peanut, the walnut soup with half sesame, and the Mango sago. Right off the bat, the glutinous balls were tiny! Definitely a lot smaller of a portion than expected and the picture in the menu looked deceiving. They were so small that they gave us toothpicks to eat it with. Given the price of that dish, I expected something a bit bigger. The Mango sago was pretty good, not as sweet but still refreshing. But I would say that it is average compared to other dessert places that serves the same dish. The walnut and sesame soup was the most disappointing one. First of all, it came room temperature and not even the slight bit warm. It also tasted super diluted and just not the traditional one I'm used to having. I didn't end up finishing this one. Cute dessert place! This has a mix of traditional desserts and the more modern Asian desserts. It was a little chilly so I didn't want to go for my usual mango sago so I opted for an almond soup (hot). I didn't realize they roasted the almonds first before puréing it! At home (and even most restaurants) they simply soak it and purée the almonds. The roasted almonds definitely made the soup really fragrant. I liked that it wasn't as sweet as the usually desserts. Location/Service This place is right in First Markham Place plaza - in the corner beside the mall entrance. Parking is available all around the plaza. The sign is easy to spot - and it's in English (no Chinese name). I like the interior, which is setup with round tables and olden/traditional Chinese furniture. Social distancing setup is in place (but no plexi glass between tables), and mostly offer takeout orders. Staff were nice and generally fast with orders. Food/Dessert Ordered curry fish balls and curry meat balls - which I initially thought would be HK style setup, where it will be boiled/infused with the curry for long periods of time. However, the ball and the sauce were separate. The balls basically were heated/fried on the spot and they poured this thick pasty sauce on top of it. It wasn't that great to be honest and it didn't combine well together. Ordered a sweet sticky rice with coconut milk. This is usually my go to dessert and they've done a good job with this. The sticky rice was plenty and the coconut milk was fresh. But I did feel it was a bit watery - probably the ratio was a bit off, I usually prefer it a little thicker. This place has been here for many years and it was one of my go to places back in the days. I hope their quality improves a bit - especially during this time of a pandemic. Best mango pudding! This is my daughter's favourite dessert so we've tried it in many dessert shops and it's definitely the best here. Smooth silky pudding topped with half a fresh mango that is perfectly ripened. You know that mango is their speciality as you'll see cases of it on their shelf. Not sure how they manage to have fresh sweet mango all year round because it's consistently always really good. We come here not just for the dessert but also for the steamed clay pot pork rib rice. Another dish that they do so perfectly. It's so flavourful and tasty. Although their menu has only a small selection of cooked food, since they always do it very well customers will keep coming back. Came here for a late night dessert and tried the shaved ice! Got the milk tea shaved ice w/ kiwi, mango, and strawberry! ($10). The shaved ice tasted good and the fruits were fresh as well. Tucked away in the corner of first markham place next to Mabu generation, unless you're deliberately looking for this place you might just miss it. My friend ordered the steamed egg with mango and for myself, the glutinous sticky rice in coconut and sago pudding which came hot. Compared to other places, they serve it with shaved coconut and evaporated milk on top as opposed to using coconut milk which is much richer. As a result this dessert wasn't as creamy as I would have liked, nor as thick. I didn't find out until later but this place is most well known for its steamed rice rolls. I split a mango and pomelo tapioca cream dessert with my brother and it was delicious. There were fresh chunks of mango in there, along with pomelo pulp. The cream was also mango flavored, and wasn't overly sweet. It was enough for 2 people to share. My mom got a red bean coconut milk drink, which is her favorite. However, it was not good here. I tried some and there was no coconut flavor in the milk...not sure if they used some cheap canned kind or what, but it just tasted bad. She got the large size, which costed $7+, but could only finish half since it wasn't at all enjoyable. It is pretty pricy here, and based on our experience, certain items on the menu are a lot better than others. I did see in the reviews that their hot pot rice bowls are amazing, so I'm interested in coming back at some point to try that. read more

How have I never actually sat down to type a review for this place?! Beats me. I've been coming here for 10+ years and it's always been my go-to Chinese dessert place. The running joke with my friends and family is that this is "my" dessert store.. except I don't make commission for bringing everyone to eat here! They've got cold desserts, hot desserts, fruit desserts, bean desserts, herbal desserts, you name it! It's a gathering spot great for all ages since the oldies tend to like the bean/herbal spectrum and the young 'uns like the sweet/fruit spectrum. Despite being a dessert store, they also offer a lot of traditional Chinese street side snacks + large pots of casserole rice (which takes ~15-20mins to make after ordering). I LOVE, and I repeat, I LOVE the street side rice noodles that they make here (cheung fun for the Canto speakers). Some days, I come drop by in the afternoon just to eat this dish.
