They offer some of the best mango sago (when in season). Great selection of desserts for both hot and cold, sweet and savory. Cozy little place with traditional round table and stool. It gets busy here but service is good overall.

Had a good time with friends over dessert. This is a very popular place for dessert. If you can't find anything else, this is a good fall back option.

Black Sticky Rice with Coconut

My family and I stopped by Double Ming for dessert after dinner. Fortunately, we were able to squeeze around a small table right away and were served barley (?) tea as soon as we sat down. The ordering process is simple: you just mark down the quantity of each item you'd like on a paper menu. BLACK STICKY RICE WITH COCONUT - 6.75 This dessert contains some red bean paste, which paired well with the black sticky rice, coconut milk, and grass jelly. It was on the lighter side and not too sweet. While it wasn't worth writing home about, out of all the desserts we tried, this is the only one I might recommend. HERBAL ESSENCE JELLY WITH SWEET SOUP - 7.75 This dessert comes with a bottle of simple syrup on the side. The herbal essence jelly is extremely bitter and tastes like Chinese medicine. If this herbal flavor is not your cup of tea, I would stay away. No amount of simple syrup could mask the bitterness. SWEET SESAME PASTE - 7.99 This was extremely watered down, and the black sesame flavor was barely noticeable. The texture was thin and lacked the rich, gloopy consistency that you'd expect from a good sesame paste. SWEET SESAME RICE BALLS (6 CT.) - 6.50 +1 for fresh milk The fresh milk was nothing special, and the black sesame rice balls were disappointing. They were about 90% dough and only 10% black sesame paste. We were quite disappointed by this dessert. Unfortunately, after a lackluster experience, I cannot recommend Double Ming for Cantonese desserts.

It's a been many years since I step foot into a Chinese dessert place since the one at pacific mall closed. Traditional interiors but small space. Many dessert options but also have limited savory items. A very not "too sweet " spot, even my family thinks some items could be a tad sweeter. Also got the essence jelly and that came with syrup, and we used they for the sesame and red bean paste lol. The ginger milk was very strong in ginger flavour. The sticky black rice was the best in terms of sweetness and balanced nicely with the steamed milk.

I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this dessert place yet since it has been around forever. It has been awhile since I last visited, but my recent visit didn't disappoint as the dessert was as good as I remember it. Not many places do traditional Chinese desserts well now but they have kept up a good standard and have the traditional seating to match. I got the ginger egg custard which was really yummy and smooth.

This place hits for their specialties! Their boiled milk & ginger is soooo good and soothing. Their seasonal cold mango double milk is sooooo good. Pricey but you pay for what you get! Cash is 10% off

I've been to this Dessert place quite a few times. They have nice Chinese desserts and the price used to be very reasonable. However, this year it feels pricy! The service is not the greatest, but expected in a restaurant like this. Sometimes good sometimes bad. We will still visit when we feel like having Chinese desserts and when around the area.

Came to this Chinese dessert restaurant for the first time and tried their black sesame glutinous balls in a gingery soup. Was kind of disappointed as the glutinous balls lacked black sesame filling :(... I think my frozen black sesame glutinous balls from TNT are more tasty... Besides that, it had great texture and I enjoyed the gingery soup. Service was okay and ambiance was quite busy (love the traditional accents w/ decor!!!! However, I would come back to try their other desserts!

Last summer, my family dropped by here for some quick dessert. The decor of this dessert shop seemed a bit old fashioned. One of the waiters had a hard time understanding our order. We spoke in both English and Cantonese and he seemed a bit confused. We got the boiled milk and ginger, boiled papaya with milk, sweet red bean paste, sweet walnut paste and sweet almond paste. Most of the desserts were pretty good and not too sweet.

Terrible experience! Trying to order steamed egg white with milk and sweet herbal tea with egg! Everything seems out of stock in their 4 out of 7 food selective categories! Desserts are all tasteless! We ordered green bean paste with jello, assorted fresh fruit with jello; and assorted fresh fruit with fresh coconut milk and a hot assorted herbal tea. The tea came in lukewarm, neither hot nor cold when I ordered for a hot one! The traditional one has a sweet flavor and proper ingredients in tea. Avoid any drinks from this place! Not even fake it or just don't know what it is in the drink! Weird drink cost $4! Supermarket has better herbal tea in bottle than this place! All desserts have NO flavors! The two assorted fresh fruit desserts only have cantaloupes and one piece of canned lychee and 2 pieces of pineapple but MISSING the main ingredient of SAGO and TASTE!!!! They just like to fill up your bowl with big chunk of cantaloupes! A big NO to come here for dessert! WASTE money!

The best Chinese Dessert in Toronto that I have ever eaten since 2003 until now. On May to Oct every Sunday I will get the mango series dessert. It's never fails me. They won't sell if the mango isn't good enough to eat.

Gabriel S.

Green bean paste with jello was so so. It was actually green bean soup with grass jelly. The soup was OK. The grass jelly was decent but not Taiwanese level smooth. Mango with tapioca came with sago. The mango was excellent for Canada & the sago smooth. The combined sweetness level of the dish was acceptable. Desserts here are less sweet than at other Chinese dessert places (so they are really under sweetened).

This is a cute cafe with so many Chinese desserts like black sesame soup, mango sago, grass jelly and steam milk with ginger. We ordered black sesame soup, rice balls and the steam Milk with ginger. All were so good!! Service was good. I wish I lived in Toronto as this would definitely be a place I would visit all the time!!!

Ginger & milk dessert. This won an award in 2010(?). VERY strong on ginger.

We decided to get 2 items for an event. 1) Tiramisu - perfectly balanced in flavor and sweetness. The sweet cream with cake layers, the chocolate and coffee flavors working together, a delicious moist treat. 5/5. Definitely a must try if you've never had it. 2) Thai tea tiramisu - this had good Thai tea flavor but I felt it was a bit one note in comparison to the classic tiramisu. Still good but hard to beat the original. 4/5. Price is about 20$ each and they're not huge but really tasty. Definitely a crowd pleaser for gatherings.

It had all tiramisu varieties discounted by $5. Yes! What tiramisu flavour should I get? I had a tough time deciding. Classic, Thai milk tea, or earl grey? I went with Thai milk tea. This place also has gelato bars. I was curious and got a white chocolate raspberry gelato bar. I drove down to pick up my order. Nonna Lia is a part of Bontea. I was so excited to get my goodies that I didn't even bother getting bubble tea. Next time! Bontea is a couple of doors down from LaMochi Donuts. I had no problem parking in front of Bontea and heading inside. A woman greeted me. I let her know that I had an Uber Eats order. She fetched it from the fridge and handed me a nicely branded paper bag. I thanked her, wished her a great evening, and headed to my car. I immediately had the white chocolate raspberry bar. It was excellent! If you love raspberry gelato or anything raspberry, this bar is for you. The white chocolate was subtle. This bar wasn't sweet. I still dream about the bar. I need another one! The following day, I brought the Thai milk tea tiramisu to share with a friend at work. It has more mascarpone than lady fingers. It's like a decadent mousse with bonus lady fingers. We both loved how it tasted like having Thai milk tea, but in dessert form. It was light, yummy, and full of flavour. The lady fingers were perfect. Each container of tiramisu runs between $22 and $25. It's on the pricy side, but it is worth treating yourself here and there. This place is grab-and-go for both desserts and bubble tea. There aren't any seats to sit down and enjoy your treats. I'll definitely head back for more tiramisu and gelato bars. It took a while for me to finally give this place a try. I'm so glad that I did at long last. (463)

So we decided to come here. Midland is a well known location that not hard to find. There was 1 more hours to be closed, when we walked in. But the casher was not rush me. She just let us know we could scan the QR code for the menu on the table, and come up to the counter to order, when we are ready. We were debating which one to get, Golden Mango or Matcha Mango Bingsu. The cashier said Golden Mango is giving different texture, even though it's all mango flavor; the Matcha Mango is using matcha shaved ice as base, then top with Mango fresh fruit. So we final decision was the Golden Mango Bingsu. Once we ordered, we got a electric alert board. We won't wait long, the alert board was beeping when our order was ready. I went back to the counter to get my Bingsu. This desert is not big that costs $12.55+tax. Sago has no taste. Fresh mango is on the top, mango base is mango flavored shaded ice, which is like ice cream that smooth. Mango sauce as layer is in the middle of the base, which makes stronger taste. Overall, it's pretty tasty and fresh. That's another type of ice cream for me. The store was open until late night, and I was seeing couples coming in. That reminded me long time ago when we were young. Enjoy the desert and also enjoy the late night life.
