Awesome Fried Chicken BLB (pineapple bun) with lettuce and tomato! Absolutely beautiful. Must try!
Reached at 11:00 and received the breakfast menu. Had to ask for the lunch menu. Service is mediocre. We had to ask for things repeatedly. Sukiyaki angus beef udon with hot spring egg Ramen - Broth could be thicker and taste was OK. The quantity of meat was OK. Pork chop + chicken steak + sausage with garlic sauce: The pork had a good crisp to it and was seasoned well. The chicken was a bit salty and just OK. The Garlic sauce was OK. Angus beef hotpot rice - definitely did not look like the picture. There was just rice and some cooked up beef pieces. There was not much taste to the meat. Short rib with red wine: This was nicely done. The sauce was nice and rich and the beef was tender. The flavour was tasty. Mango slush - asked for 50% sugar - didn't happen- was too sweet. This also look like picture - no fresh mango on top. They didn't offer the small size, even though it was in the menu, only medium. I would not be in a rush to return.
Manna Kitchen is one of the many restaurants/cafes in Peachtree plaza. It's quite small so while there are a good amount of tables, they can get busy and the place can fill up fast. I wouldn't really recommend it for large groups, especially on the weekends when it is busy. The decor is cute. They have twinkle lights on a section of the ceiling and a wall mural highlighting some of their menu items. Service here isn't the best - I guess because they are so busy. They tend to leave mid-conversation. This happened to us two or three times while we were trying to order. The food is well-priced and the portions are quite large for most of the items. They have several different menus, including one that promoted new menu items at 15% off. Since there is a lot of variety, there is surely something for everyone. I enjoyed my chicken and waffles. You can normally choose between a half portion or full portion for the waffles. However, since we went close to closing time, there was only the option of the full waffle. I'd come back again for the food, despite the service.
Lovely HK Cafe Restaurant with a wide selection on their menu including all day breakfast, lunch combos and sizzling plate steaks. Inside the Peach Tree Plaza at the corner by RBC. Service was quick and good. Portions were generous and plated nicely. Flavours were perfect. You could also upgrade combo drinks to bubble tea if you'd like. I do want to point out that not a lot of places does the sizzling hot plate steak anymore in the area and they do I quite well. Their steaks are AAA grade and decent size cut. The portions were perfect. Washrooms were relatively clean and accessible.
A HK Style cafe restaurant with reasonable prices. We came in a Sunday evening and it wasn't too busy, managed to get seated right away. They have a really large menu so some may feel overwhelmed if they have never been to HK style cafe before. Servers were friendly and attentive, also quick to bring you what you request. We went with the classic tomato sauce pork chop baked rice and the curry brisket omurice. I have to admit, the curry impressed me as it came with plenty of chunky pieces of brisket and it was seasoned very well. The pork chop rice tasted like a classic HK style baked rice, no complaints. Portions were also pretty big, enough to save for lunch for the next day. Would return!
Food was ok, not good not bad. The egg did have a mild milk taste but otherwise, nothing really stood out. The ham macaroni in chicken soup had a piece of PORK in it. Glad I didn't have allergies lmao. Service-wise, it is pretty meh. This lady literally SLAPPED my mom's plate down on the table. No exaggeration, you know those hk cafe videos parodying bad service? It was exactly that. The echo could be heard across the restaurant It's a very casual vibe. Cups are literally chipped all around. You could possibly show up in a wifebeater here. I would not recommend coming back unless I was starving.
I've actually been to Manna Kitchen many times but only getting around to reviewing now. I think the food is decent but the main reason most people like it is the menu variety and the quick service. My favourite is the laksa noodles :)
Another HK cafe that I frequently go to. Lots of items on the menu to choose from! From rice, noodles, snacks, and drinks to choose from. Their hot plates are on the pricier side, compared to other cafes, but they are big and very filling. I've tried their mixed meats hot plate, which comes with fries, pork chop, chicken steak, chicken wings, sausage, and steak with rice and a choice of sauce. Very spacious inside and lots of seating. Service is good and the servers are attentive. Cold drinks are $1 extra. Lots of free parking in the plaza.
We visited on a very busy Saturday morning leading up to the lunch hour. We were lucky to quickly get a table. There was a line of people waiting for tables by the time we left. We ordered a sukiyaki Angus beef udon with a hot spring egg and a breakfast dish that came with eggs, toast, and a bowl of macaroni with slices of ham. The service is very efficient, and it didn't take long for most of our food to arrive. For some reason the bowl of macaroni arrived last to the table. The food was okay. The sukiyaki broth was too sweet for us and not actually boiling when it got to the table, so it did take a little longer for the beef to cook. The amount of food was more than enough for us, and we even packed some of it to go.
A super popular HK style cafe in New Kennedy Square. Expect queues for a table, even though it's a sizeable restaurant. Once you're seated service is fast. Staff do their best to turn over tables as quickly as possible. The food and drink are good. If it's your first time there, check out their Top 10 Dishes. They are good and hit the spot for any HK cafe food cravings! I especially enjoyed their curry beef egg dish. The egg was super smooth and sauce was tasty. A great option in this busy plaza full of restaurants.

Went here for the first time just before Christmas, and I instantly recognize the servers from the previous establishment here. It's been a while actually, I was surprised they remembered me haha. I had the satay beef with creamy chicken soup macaroni. Yes I was pulled into it when I saw "creamy chicken soup", wondering exactly how creamy it is. It's a unique broth (at least for what I'm used to for satay beef noodle soups), but creamy was a bit of a stretch haha. Still good though! My mom had a satay beef and creamy scrambled egg Korean style sandwich. Having never been to Korea before outside in transit, I was curious what this could be, so she gave me a bite. It was delicious! I'm sure I can find better ones in actual Korea, but that was a good introduction of it. Service remains excellent, at least for me. I honestly prefer here over Blue Ocean.
Located inside Peachtree Mall at the south west corner of Kennedy and Hwy 7. This appears to be a HK cafe with other Asian influences (Malaysia/ Singapore/ Korean) There are many options to choose from from your hot plate, noodles, baked rice/ noodle, stewed and sandwiches... The food is well prepared and comes out quickly and well portioned. The drink service is a little slow, we were almost finished our meal before the drinks made their appearance. The seating is quite comfortable and allows for some privacy which I feel missing in many of the new cafes popping up. One area that really peeved me was the bill was low 30's and I placed $40 on the bill. The waitress took it and just said thank you. Did they expect a $7+ tip for bare minimal service? They were busy chit chatting loudly by the counter but not really paying attention to the customers besides seating, getting order and getting the bill. Was almost impossible to flag them down but their attitude of expecting people to just leave a large tip without as much as, would you like change as a courtesy will not have me returning. 4 stars for the kitchen crew and the servers lost themself a customer -1 star for very rude service.
Came back for another late lunch--they sadly don't serve teppanyaki hot stone plate meals before 3:00pm so I tried one of their 'new promotions' (NN6) Curry Udon with Fried Chicken Steak. Given that there was a piece of fried chicken on top I assumed it would have been a little more on the saucier side for curry udon but it came as a soup--which isn't bad per se but it makes fried anything soggy pretty quickly. No one is going to be shovelling scalding hot chicken or noodles into their mouths just to keep the crunch factor intact. It still tasted great and the udon noodles were al dente/not overcooked. It's flavourful still so that's a plus.
A no frills, HK cafe that is a staple in Markham. It's a face paced restaurant so and service is quick. You can expect to be in and out within an hour of dining here. Food is alway solid and like that their drinks come in a take out container, since I can never finish it on the spot. On weekdays, they have a special that if you buy one main item from their menu at regular price, you can get another item off another menu for just $10. A great steal if you're dining there with more than 2 people. Got their curry brisket and tomato baked chicken which are classics and must gets. Overall, a great place for a quick meal that hits the spot. read more
This plaza was so hard to find a parking spot. We got luck finding a spot closed to this restaurant. It was really Hong Kong style cafe that seats were too closed, and one next to another, the isle area also narrowed. I was surprised that they have egg over the rice, so I definitely want that, my husband got the pork and cheese baked with Tomato sauce, only my husband's dish comes with a drink. The drink came fast, but really small. My egg over the rice came next, as traditional egg over the rice, it should have been fried rice, but it just white rice, and then the thin piece of meat with sauce. The thin meat was good to fully cooked, but sort of too little. And no veggies on the side. The pork and cheese baked with Tomato sauce pasta came last, it's regular. I might wait for a little bit until next time to visit. read more

Came back for round 2 of Manna Kitchen, this time for dinner. And boy was it busy. Luckily for a party of 2 we got to quickly sit down at the 'bar seats' facing the window. On a winter day it could get rather cold as the windows are not insulated well, so keep that in mind if you are offered those seats. Baked Portuguese Chicken Rice - This was tasty! lots of sauce, well cooked potatoes, fried chicken steak, fried rice (with eggs only). The toppings vs sauce vs rice ratio was pretty good. Would recommend. Curry Beef Brisket Omurice - This was recommended by friends and the pictures looked good. The eggs came cooked with some runniness, perfect. The beef briskets was nice and tender. The curry was a bit too hot for my taste and lacked abit of creaminess. Nice to try, would not get again unless you can change the spiciness. read more
Came here with my husband for lunch on a Sunday, place was pretty busy but they were able to seat us quite quickly. After scanning the menu both my husband and I got the same lunch: Fried Chicken in a Pineapple Bun and HK Milk Tea. It took a little while for our food to come, which we expected with how busy they were. But it was well worth the wait! The fried chicken was very juicy and crispy, plus the seasoning complimented the pineapple bun very well. For the bun, it was soft with a quite crumbly top, but the two together made a delicious combo! The sandwich also had lettus, tomato and a sauce. HK milk tea was standard milk tea, tasted good. Overall, would come back here to try another of their pineapple bun sandwiches and some other popular dishes in the other reviews! read more
After a sat afternoon badminton session, I along w/ my gf and friends were gonna have a chill dinner at Blue Ocean Cafe in the same plaza (New Kennedy Square). When we parked, we noticed that Blue Ocean was absolutely packed so we walked around the plaza and noticed that this resto had replaced Chef Papa Tea & Noodle Bar. Curious, we decided to try it. The interior has remained unchanged. No decor, lighting or layout changes. The food is completely different though. Chef Papa, the predecessor in this unit was a Deer Garden copycat resto. This new resto is very much an HK cafe serving up some fusion dishes as well. Most of us got rice dishes. One of my friends' gf got chicken yakisoba which was just ok. If you come here for dinner I would HIGHLY recommend ordering a rice dish. Red wine braised beef brisket omurice: The brisket was tender, the potatoes were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the egg was the perfect runniness and they give you a GOOD amount of sauce. Curry beef brisket omurice: The curry was tasty and flavourful. The brisket was, again, very tender. Potatoes crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Baked portuguese chicken rice: The chicken was tender and the sauce was interesting. My friend said he wished they topped him off w/ some cheese but usually that's extra so it's fine. Hainanese chicken rice: My friends and I thought this chicken rice was just slightly above avg. For some reason, a lot of ppl I know (outside of my friend group) love to use Phoenix Restaurant as a barometer for good hainanese chicken rice. I highly disagree w/ the notion that their chicken rice is good but if I go along and use them as the measuring stick for avg, I would say this chicken rice is above avg. The rice was properly cooked in the chicken oil but it definitely could've used even more aromatics. I know the community is divided on whether or not the chicken should be boneless for this dish. My friends and I happen to rate it higher when the chicken comes boneless. This one came bone-in so it already didnt go into the top-tier off that factor alone. Pork chop in gravy w/ rice: My friend who ordered this said the pork chop was juicy and not overcooked. He also thought the gravy was better than your typical HK cafe gravy sauce. Fried wings: Yea, the batter was a little too thick and there wasn't enough seasoning on them. But they were juicy and the wings were plump and meaty. Like I said above, the yakisoba was ordinary and not something you should try for a first time. Some other caveats I'd like to point out. The portions are MASSIVE. Part of the reason I'm giving 5 stars is the bang for buck value. For $14.50 or $15.50 (current avg price for a rice dish, at the time of this review), you get a giant rice dish and the quality is strong. The egg for the omurice is also cooked just right and not overdone. The seasoning was on point and food comes out fast as well. I've got a big appetite and even I felt satisfied after eating. I was reading Philip L's review and he mentioned that this spot is actually opened by the same owner of Blue Ocean Cafe (right across the plaza) which is a pleasant coincidence. Imo, this spot totally smokes Blue Ocean out of the water. I awarded Blue Ocean a 3 star rating because there is literally nothing special about it from food to value. One thing they did kinda mess up was our drink orders but that's fine (I ordered a milk tea w/ zero sugar and it came w/ sugar even tho the cup said "no sugar" lol, my friend also didn't order a coke but they brought him one). I will definitely be back. This HK cafe is now on my repeat visit list due to the sheer value. read more
Went for their afternoon tea. Got the hk style toast salted egg version and hk milk tea. Hk milk tea was a bit oversteeped. Salted egg hk style toast was delicious. The bread wasn't as crispy, but came with crunchy corn flakes and drizzled in condensed milk. Will come back to try their standard hk style toast w pb. Service is relatively quick. Venue is pretty nice for a hk cafe. Standard canto ambiance with the staff chatting loudly with one another (it's great). read more
After hearing a few friends rave about Manna Kitchen, I had high expectations, but my experience turned out to be a bit underwhelming. I tried the Baked Bolognese Rice and the Mixed Grill with Black Pepper Sauce and Rice. The Bolognese was overly tangy for my liking. I usually prefer a sweeter, more balanced sauce. The black pepper sauce on the mixed grill was decent, but the pork chop was way too salty, which overshadowed the rest of the dish. Overall, the food was just average. With so many Hong Kong-style cafes around, I'm not sure I'd return to explore more of their menu. The prices are slightly above average, but not unreasonable. The service was fine, and the place was quite busy during my visit, so it seems to have its fair share of fans. If you're curious, it might be worth a try, but for me, it didn't quite live up to the hype. read more
Came here after hearing rave reviews about this new hk cafe. I ordered the egg with curry beef brisket and my boyfriend ordered the mixed meat plate. My curry beef brisket was really good and no wonder it was on the top menu picks. My boyfriend also tasted really good. Also to note, the portions are huge and food here Truly Exceeded my expectations. Only certain items come with a drink and discount of 10% is offered on certain items not all. Customer service was really good and attentive throughout the entire dinner. We were checked upon every here and there to see if we needed anything. The place is a little small so sometimes you do need to wait a bit for a seat. But overall really good hk cafe. read more

Tried out this new HK cafe which has been rebranded by the same owners of the predecessor restaurant, Chef Papa. Expect a line as lots of people are eager to try this new spot. We got the baked Portuguese chicken rice, red wine beef brisket stew with tornado egg and rice, and the HK style curry fish balls and fish siu mai. Starting with the good, the Portuguese chicken rice was really good with a rich and creamy Portugese sauce. The tornado egg was made well too. In terms of misses, the red wine beef stew is a bit flat and lacks complexity. I think the sauce can be reduced more and the plating of this made it painfully clear that there are just 5 pieces of beef. The curry fish ball and fish siu mai was really bad. the curry sauce is good but there was no distinct flavour in the fish ball and the fish siu mai was all flour and undercooked. you could still see the opaque gritty white flour and it was room temperature at best. Service is efficient enough but they seem a bit understaffed and still experiencing the initial opening struggles which is understandable. No takeout at the moment. read more
Came here Sunday for lunch. They have a different menu selection if you come before 1130am. The restaurant was quite busy already. We were seated in a minute or two. The menu selection is really good. They are affiliated with Prestotea so the drink selection is quite large. We ordered 4 dishes: chicken waffle, Haines chicken, red wine beef with rice and curry beef brisket with rice. The portions were average. You don't feel stuffed after eating just content. The flavour wasn't bad. The food was decent. They kept forgetting our drink I had to ask several times... Overall, it's a good option they have something for everyone. read more
We used to come to presotea pretty often and this was our first time after it became manna kitchen. Seems more variety than before. We ordered a curry beef brisket with tornado Omurice $15.5 with a bubble tea (+$4) and all day special Dan Dan noodles with deep fried pork chop $13.95. The curry beef brisket was good, the curry is fragrant, portion is generous, the egg live up to its name and looks nice. However, I have tried better beef brisket rice for cheaper price at other hk style restaurants. The Dan Dan noodles I didn't quite like. The "alkaline" taste of the ramen is too strong even a slightly spicy Dan Dan soup seems comparatively bland. Not much taste to the soup especially lacking that peanut flavor. Overall it's decent but may not be something that I would crave for. read more
Came here at around 12ish pm on a weekday and there were plenty of tables. Place was clean overall. Service was quick, food arrived quickly, and staff were friendly. We ordered the Curry Steak Omurice and Steak with Gravy and Steam Rice. The portion of the rice was quite generous and the flavour of the steaks and sauces were quite good! We like that the menu is slightly different from typical Hong Kong cafes and there are some more unique items from which to choose. Had a good experience overall for a Hong Kong cafe and would come back! read more

This is a HK style restaurant so don't expect amazing service or decor. The service is prompt and efficient and atmosphere is clean and adequate. Food is excellent and the value is there. I would recommend to try them if u r into this type of cuisine. Their HK style tea is great as well. Will try again. We go in and 5 and tables were plentiful but filled up at 5:35 on a Saturday. Place is still relatively new, it's clean and comfortable enough. The service is on par with a similar type of restaurant. However the food itself, other than being served on interesting dining ware, the flavor and quality is nothing special. To be honest, you can find other HK style restaurants within the plaza which taste better for similar prices. Would I go again? Maybe if other restaurants have a lineup and I don't want to wait, I'll revisit this place. Not saying it's bad, but there are so many options in the area. Mannas kitchen is a brand new spot that recently opened in Old Kennedy Sq. It was fairly packed, and we got lucky as we didn't have to wait long for a seat on a Sunday lunch. However, after we came, there were many groups coming to line up, as well as big parties! They have lunch specials that include a drink (cold is additional cost), as well as snacks, other drinks and more. We opted for their No.1 Satay Premium Beef with Instant Noodles hot pot, and LB 2 combo. Food came in around 10-15 mins after ordering, and we were definitely impressed with the taste of both dishes overall. LB 2 was a chicken soup with satay beef, and you get many pieces of juicy beef. It came with a creamy scrambled egg and toast - pro tip: dip the toast in the soup The Satay Premium Beef was abit different as you mixed in the satay with the soup, but the beef is the type you'd get in hot pots. Make sure to mix the beef right away while the soup is bubbling as it comes rare (like pho). Only thing I wish we could do was change the noodles to something else as instant noodles get soggy pretty quickly. We definitely will come back in the future to try their other dishes. Tried the baked porkchop in tomato sauce ($13.95). Also got a cold milk tea for +$1 I thought it was average but nothing amazing. Portion size was decent but not huge for the price we were paying. There is a decently large menu with some different options for hk Cafe styled foods but nothing super 'special'. Overall, it was a pretty average hk style restaurant. Nothing really stood out in particular and don't have a strong urge to return. read more

Both dishes we ordered were delicious. Really good feel of HK cafe style. HK milk tea was decent. We arrived just before lunch rush. Didn't have to wait for table. Service was pleasant. Difficult to get staff attention at times read more
