Very cute cafe. I have been here a few times before because I am intrigued by the pet birds they keep here. My order was taken right away as I walked in and they have all of the standard nondairy options. I got a oat milk latte and they made it just right:) I sat by the birds but there are definitely plenty of spaces to eat away from the birds if you do not like birdies. The space is vary large and the sun hits the place very nicely since it's at the corner of a street. They always have nice music as well. The streets outside on ocean are bustling with cars but inside I feel very peaceful. I ended up getting hungry and ordering one of their house special chicken hummus wraps to eat in. The owner (I think) brought my plate to my table and it was plated very nicely. There was plenty of chicken in the wrap and filled me up very well. Not like those wraps with more veg and hardly any meat. If you really like spicy then I would recommend asking for extra hot sauce since it's not very spicy. Overall I really recommend this place for the great service, yummy good quality food and drinks, and the nice ambience. read more

Conveniently located along the busy Ocean Ave so it's easy to spot. Plenty of drinks and foods on the menu for every palate. Customers are polite in keeping the place quiet even when crowded. Newspaper rack for reading materials, plus some outdoor seating, There's nothing like it around the area. Loss of stars for the dirty bathroom (puddling wet floor) on more than one visit, the hit-or-miss friendliness of the staff, the overly anti-Starbucks and "no-cellphone use while ordering" sign (understandable, but still). Next to Walgreens and across from the former public library. Parking directly in front is non-existent. On the side, there are a few metered spots. But, a block away are plenty of residential street parking (2-hr limits during weekdays) so it's all good. Heck, I'm heading over there after yelping this. read more

Customer service is always so warm and friendly here whenever you step your foot in. I like to try random drinks since they have quite an option to choose from. I personally like their cappuccino and matcha latte just because it's not overly sweet which i love! i have tried their bagel (forgot which) but it was simply good, they give you generous amount of the spread for sure. ha ha.. only downside is that they're a bit pricey, especially in an area full of students. I enjoy the atmosphere here, plenty of space to seat and get some work done (of course not guaranteed depending on the day & how busy it gets).. I usually come here whenever i have classes at City since it's just a walk away rather than staying at the library. also love how bright it gets during the day, a little glim of light doesn't hurt, it actually wakes me up just a bit along with my coffee. read more

I was in need of my Sunday morning Coffee and decided to check this place out. This was my first time here and I ordered a Mexican Mocha after browsing their menu. I was very happy with my choice! The cinnamon worked really well with the chocolate flavor and I would definitely get this drink again! The coffee shop was homey and had a very nice atmosphere. The place was packed when I came and I saw a lot of people doing work. They have a good amount of seating which include tables and sofa couches and I can tell a lot of locals and students come here to chill and do work. The cashier was very nice and answered any questions I had. Besides coffee, they also sell smoothies, baked goods, bagels, sandwiches, Mediterranean foods and other specials. I enjoy their iced lattes in the morning normally. This one time I decided to be adventurous to try their rose latte, that was my mistake. It's just a preference thing, I love the smell and dislike the taste. It just reminds me of soap. The customer service is HORRIBLE. The man with the accent and glasses is sooo RUDE. He's rude to customers and to other employees. I really wanted to like this place because i love the coffee here but i don't pay for the attitude and sass that comes with my drink. I once ordered a "iced" rose latte. I clearly heard the lady at the register tell this man it was "iced". When I received my "hot" rose latte, I kindly requested for the man to remake. He yelled at his employee in front of me for not telling him it was "iced". I felt so bad for her. I told him she in fact did tell him it was "iced" and maybe he just missed it because it was loud. He then said that I was wrong and that she needs to learn how to do her job correctly. After only pouring my drink over ice instead of remaking it, he slammed my drink on the counter. When I kindly requested he make it correctly, he was furious and mumbled under his breath....i've come back a few times but I can't stand him being rude. I won't be coming anymore. read more

This place is a convenient location to grab a bite, study, or get coffee/tea with a friend. I stopped by with my friend to split the herb-roasted chicken sandwich with avocado. The chicken was great, but the avocado had a chewy texture and definitely did not taste like any avocado I had tasted. Next time I would opt for getting it without avocado. When I went on a weekend evening, there was beautiful live music. I often go to Java to study or catch up with friends. My food was not ready! The place was not busy when I walked in. I asked how long before it is ready? Was told five minutes. They made it in 3 minutes. The employee there said sometimes they are busy so they don't pick up the phone. But next time if I want to check on my order, I can call. What the heck? I found this cafe on my way to Whole Foods on Ocean Av.e. This place is surprisingly big with variety of seats available. ( sofa, chairs, coffee table, etc...) Ordered bagel with cucumber tomato and cream cheese wand Chai Mocha for almost $10 which I don't find it worth the pennies to be honest. The decor is sort of out dated and the music sounds really unique with West Asian style around it. Lighting is good and it's nice to be able sit on a sofa doing this review. If you can't find parking on Ocean Ave, try to do park in front of Walgreen. Be careful with the time you park there since they are keeping an eye for it. read more

THIS PLACE IS TOO CUTE. I love the pastries that they sell, however i was not quite fond of the drink i ordered (The Mocha Blend) because it wa not sweet at all considering it had ice cream, chocolate, with espresso but eh it is okay. That was just one item compared to the other drinks or foods i need or plan to try haha. The seating is so cute, it ranges from couches, round tables for like a group, or a 2 seater for you and another person. The prices are a TAD bit overpriced. (My small drink was 4.50 fyi) It is cute because they also have a cage of a real cute bird chillin with customers in the couch area but it is not like the bird is too disturbing. Their are also food platters like falafels, wraps, breakfast burritos, bagel sandwiches...however, i have not yet tried it. The bathroom however throws me off. Portion size is a bit smaller than the norm. Not sure if I'd order this again =/ They also have a pretty huge selection of baked goods on the counter. This is what a real community coffee shop feels like. The baristas are all extremely welcoming, very open with recommendations and encouraging you to try the latest creative coffee specials they have. The desserts are amazing (those mini cinnamon rolls are addicting enough that I think I ate enough of them to make a full cinnamon roll), and they have a nice selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches that aren't too huge with good hummus and veggie flavors. Most of all I really appreciate the ambiance. You'll see people having conversations, people working on their laptops with good Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets, even a corner with several birds to keep you company if your mind wanders. This is a great place to relax and have a strong coffee. Hossam, the owner, is very nice and makes you feel welcome each time you walk in. The place is super cozy with grungy sofas, worn out armchairs, and wooden cafe tables sprinkled with students, 24 Fitnessers, regulars, and locals. They have a wireless setup and computers if you fancy. Loads of bottled drinks to try, great snacks, excellent mediterranean dishes and they cater also. I don't have anything against birds as pets but the two chirping prisioners might be better left at home. Other than that, the decor is hodge podge multicultural with artifacts from Egypt, South America, Middle East, Thailand, and last weeks yard sale. It's very relaxing and easy to strike up conversation. Parking is difficult unless you go to Walgreens next door for a quick whatever and sneak a coffee. I have an accent. The guy at the front desk. knows what I want, still trying to correct me in a silly way. When I was ordering, he was working on something else and he got one other order. There is a $5 minimum payment with card. So I had to buy a small piece of wrapped cake for $3.50 to use my card. He didn't even bother to give me a plate. (You know how it is like) If you hate rude people and don't want deal with them at the beginning of your day, stay away from this one. This said, I like the 'place'.
