Worst breakfast burrito I've ever had.
    Dan P.

Cashier was great but kitchen staff was a fail. It was a mellow Sunday morning and not much pressure so no excuses for the poor performance. Took forever for my burrito to arrive after the rest of our table and it was like warm at best. Next time I will stick with the usual and hope they can get that right.

Iced Americano on a cold day

Most of the time, I look up what I want on yelp and pick what businesses I'm going to support that way. On this occasion, I wandered around until I stumbled upon a coffee shop and it definitely worked for me this time. I'm an iced americano with 1 Splenda kind of guy and feel like this is a good baseline to judge a shop and this shop passed with flying colors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really did enjoy my coffee in a setting that was true to form a coffee shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only thing missing was Phoebe singing "Smelly Cat" and I know I'm aging my myself with that reference but for my fellow old folks, you get what I mean.

I'm a fan after this mornings visit for my second breakfast!! Great espresso coffee drinks and a limited, but largely healthy food menu I found more than adequate for my tastes! Turkey scrambled eggs with sourdough toast and nice touch of peanut butter instead of ham on toast. My dog ate most of the peanut butter though Second dish was my yogurt, granola, and fruit bowl. Outstanding, everything fresh, including the granola!!! You order and pay inside and your food and drinks brought to your table. I absolutely love places like this when not too crowded and you don't have to queue up to order. I was in on Wednesday morning. No wait. I expect this is not the case on a weekend. Located on a nice tree-lined street just a couple blocks from the Capitol building in Boise. If you want free street parking, you may need to be ready to drive around a bit. I found a surface fee lot on 2 blocks away. Very clubby and inviting on inside. Super friendly service at the counter. I sat outside at one of the 6-7 tables that line the side of the building along 6th street. Some trees provide nice shade. $35-$40 for 2 with tax and tip. Pretty good value. This is a winner for me. Whole experience made me smile.

Java is a great little place. Wonderful drinks to get the day going. I am yet to try the "bowl of soul" but looking forward to the day I do. Slightly long line to order but food came pretty quick. I ordered the High Protein Turkey Scramble. Nothing crazy but cant complain. Also got the Huevos Rancheros- different than typical Huevos Rancheros (see pic). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Java has a great vibe and everytime I stop I am satisfied.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely workers and ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Java is a great meeting spot for business meetings, catching up with friends or working! There's a variety of seating and very well spread out so other's don't hear your conversation. For a coffee spot they have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. I settled on Todd's Competitive Edge and it did not disappoint. I had the choice of plain or vanilla yogurt. The Pumpkin Spice Latte (with Almond Milk) was better than the big corporate chain The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. When you order food they bring it out to you.

Excellent chai tea latte, latte, confetti eggs, oatmeal and California club sandwich! Only recommendation is for them to heat their tortillas more.

Java used to be my favorite coffee place in Boise. I would much rather support a local business than a big chain like Starbucks. I just ordered my usual "Bowl of Soul" and added 3 extra shots of espresso. It was $12.14! Needless today this is ridiculous! Java you will lose support in the community with prices like that. Your staff will suffer too as no one can afford to tip with a $12 coffee! Shame on you!

    Destinee R.

Stepped into Java from the biting cold and was immediately enveloped by warm smiles and a glowing ambiance. I approached the counter where Annaprinna, with a friendliness that could thaw a snowstorm, shared her current favorite - the Irish Cream Latte. Without hesitation, I went for it. As Kai masterfully steamed the oat milk, I anticipated a good cup of joe, but what I got was a revelation in a cup. Having been a barista and a patron of many a coffee shop from Starbucks to the quaint Banduccis, I thought I knew my lattes. But this? This was a symphony of flavor, a silky, creamy masterpiece that lingered on the palate long after the last sip. Java isn't just a coffee shop; it's a destination for those in pursuit of the perfect latte...

Get the whipped cream! It is seriously amazing! Their coffee quality varies based on the barista making it, but that's normal with any shop.

We saw a young couple get frustrated with how packed it was and left, but what do you expect on a Friday night, this isn't a fast food place. We stuck around and placed our order. Got lucky because they only do Fish Fry's on Fridays! Ordered the prawns and fish, got two order of buffalo wings, Mac and cheese, chipotle wrap, and kids burger. Fish was amazing!! Tasted Fresh! Not frozen! I was really not sure what to expect and faced my fears and ordered it. I can say it was some of the best fried fish I've had no lie. I was super pleased with it! Next time I'll try just the fish and chips in hopes that it comes with one more piece. The prawns were skinny ones and I wasn't too fond of them but the fish the main dish was perfect! Wife and bro-in law got an order of wings each and they were both super happy with them, I snagged 3 and would say top 5 wings I've had. Sister got the chipotle wrap and she said it was really good! Wife also got the mac n cheese with bacon and her and the kids loved it. Kids burger was able to split between two kids and they tore it up along with the mac n cheese! We had a great experience! Just be patient with staff and cooks, they get bogged down and you have to expect that or be ready to order fast when you're there.

I saw…read morenotifications on Facebook that they would be open during Treefort 2024 but didn't think I would be able to fit it into my schedule. By coincidence when walking around town I spotted it and had to go try. I'm a sucker for biscuits and gravy and these definitely beat what you would find in a Denny's or IHOP by a landslide on the taste and aesthetic scale! It's super filling since there's so many carbs, but the taters (more like small potato wedges) are actually a clever add-in. They add a slight bit of texture to the mushiness of the gravy-soaked biscuits, and potatoes and gravy are already best friends in terms of food pairings. There's also garnish on top (some sort of greens and cheese) that gives it a nice look and extra flavor. Delicious! I didn't think much of the customer service initially aside from thinking they were super friendly. However, I sat down at one of the tables and took my time eating and people watching. So many people came by the store to talk to the chefs with such familiarity that it felt like this popup was its own restaurant and community. It hasn't reached a point of popularity where it's flooded with people, but the more I look back on the experience, the nicer I feel about it. Even after a lot of time had passed and the staff had already helped out so many people, when I left, they called out my name and it made me wish I could go back again. This is one of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Not because it's spectacular or mindblowing, but because it was great people watching. The food itself was also amazing for late night food-coma inducing munching.

He was very informative about where to go and places to check out in Boise. I ordered one of the local beers and their flagship meal, the Santa Maria Tri Tip Sandwich. As you can see by looking at the photos, the tri-tip was cooked to perfection. It had tomatoes, poblano, and chimichurri sauce on it to add to the flavors of the tri-tip. The bread consistency was great, not too soggy, and with a great crispy texture. I wish they had spread the tri-tip out more to make sure every bite was being celebrated. I also ordered the mac and cheese as the side per the instructions of the bartender, James. Let me say that was one of the best mac and cheeses that I have ever had. Truly amazing creamy texture and full of rich flavor. Everything melted in your mouth. Definitely worth it. I eventually ended up talking to a fellow bar sitter, and he ended up being the co-owner of the place, TJ. He also filled me in on the places to go and, most definitely, the places to travel to, to experience great beer. He was refreshing to talk to since most people don't have the passion for beer that we both represent. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and made to feel welcome. Their house-distilled vodka made for one smooth and delicious martini! Our server, Sabrina, was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She recommended the fish tacos, and they were absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the burger and fries, and he couldn't stop talking about how good they were. What really impressed me was Sabrina's attentiveness. As soon as she noticed my martini was getting low, she stopped by to see if I'd like another. I figured, "Why not?" Today my friend wanted to celebrate her birthday here so of course I said yes! We decided to sit on the outdoor patio today. It wasn't the warmest day but it was beautiful out. The sun was peeking out once in a while. The table was nicely shaded by a huge umbrella. The sun was nice but to have it beating on you isn't the best so the umbrella was appreciated. It was the perfect table for our outing. Jerika (I hope I spelled her name right) greeted my friend and I with her beautiful smile. We got some drinks started so while they were being worked on, my friend and I breezed over the menu. I did somewhat enjoy my charboiled salmon at the Eagle Bardenay for my birthday a couple weeks ago. The chefs did undercook my first plate of salmon. The server was kind to take my plate back to have the chefs remake it. The second attempt was appreciated but it was unfortunately a fail. The salmon came out so dry. I get that I wanted it well done but not jerky. But, today's a new day and I was willing to give it another shot. So today, I ordered the salmon with veggies instead of the salad. My plate came out and it looked promising. I love beautiful char marks on my food. The char marks today were perfect. My veggies looked nicely cooked but I could tell that some of the squash was still undercooked by the color. I didn't mind, it's a sign of freshness. As much as I wanted to stare at the prettiness of my food, I was ready to dig in! My salmon was so good! It was perfectly cooked! No raw spots in the middle, it was flaky and moist. It was a fabulous piece of salmon. The sun dried tomato butter is a fantastic add on to the salmon. I honestly could have polished another piece of fish. The chef that cooked my salmon today needs a raise! My lunch was chef's kiss! My friend enjoyed her lunch and her birthday drink! The outdoor patio was so relaxing. My lunch was also enjoyed. Our server was kind and attentive. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday lunch for my deserving friend. I hope that it won't be another 5+ years till I come back. I will need another plate of salmon with that sun dried tomato butter soon.
