Just had the jerk chicken, Mac and cheese and rice and everything was delicious! My first time trying this restaurant in my local area and I will Definitely be back!

    Medium Oxtail platter

Quick decision for a hearty lunch. I ordered a medium oxtail platter with rice and peas and cabbage with a side of fried Plantains. I was told 25 minutes for pickup which was accurate. Food was hot and fresh and the custom service was on point. Will be stopping by again.

Food was amazing. The place was recommended by a fellow New Yorker and a true Jamaican. The food was the best Jamaican food I've tasted here SJ since moving down here 10+ years ago. I ordered the oxtails with rice and peas and cabbage and fried snapper with macaroni and cheese and potato salad. No complaints about the food but the potato salad. The potato salad was too sweet for my liking. I ended up doctoring it. They also forgot my cornbread, so I cant review that. Overall I will definitely order from here again. TIP: Order 45 minutes before or you will be waiting.

Very polite very nice had a place to sit and wait for your had a clean bathroom also food was good. was a great experience 5 stars

Oxtail Cup of Rice and Peas Cup of Cabbage

Ok, so everytime ive ever ordered from this restaurant its been through doordash but i just had to show them some love because they literally have some of the best oxtail ive ever EVER tasted! I completely stand by this place, their cabbage is amazing, even their rice and peas is super flavorful! I cant say enough about their food! The one and only complaint i have, after trying the food so many times is the mac and cheese is alittle dry but literally EVERYTHING else ive ever had from here is amazing!

Jerk chicken with gravy, cabbage and rice and beans.

We were looking for something a little different and this came up on Yelp. Only two reviews (not counting this one) but both were 5 stars... So glad we gave it a shot. Online ordering was a breeze but it did take closer to 45mim for our order to be ready which didn't matter bc quality food is worth waiting for. We ordered 1 jerk chicken with cabbage and rice and beans and 1 stew chicken with Mac and cheese and rice and beans. Oh and two beef patties. The food was out of this world. You could taste the smoke on the jerk chicken and the perfect combination of spices. The stew chicken was fall off the bone and perfectly seasoned also. The sides were equally as delicious. Hands down some of the best mac and cheese. And the beef patties were flaky and scrumptious. Everything was reasonably priced. The woman at the restaurant was super sweet and nice. 1000% recommend. Go now!!!!!!

This is my first time ordering! I ordered a large oxtail with peas/rice and cabbage. The peas and rice as well as the cabbage were very flavorful. Although the ox tails (6 small ones) had good flavor, they clearly stayed under a heat lamp for way too long and in minimal liquid. The connective tissue that usually becomes gelatinous goodness as ox tails simmer, was a gummy bear like substance, and barely available on four of them! I will order them again but do so when they first open to see if there is any change in the appearance! The picture is of the ox tails. I ate the rice first.

Out of all of my visits, my favorite is the weekend brunch menu. There are so many yummy things to choose from like the breakfast burrito, the banana Forester French toast, the various of Benedict's including crab, and there were a bunch of various breakfast sandwiches, but the most menu appealing one that I liked is the pork roll. On my last trip I wound getting a chicken brie apples bacon on brioche bread. It was a special of the day. From the moment I bid into it, I knew I would love it for the savoriness, the crisp and sweet tasting bread. There was a side of potatoes... Very nicely seasoned and the perfect crunch to them. On my last visit, it was a total of 10 people in our group and the customer service was great. We were all able to pay with separate checks... Always a perk. The waiter was super super friendly and kept our coffee refills going. Inside it is busy which could lead away from the quiet ambience, but I didn't mind it at all.

Former home vibe, i was one of the earliest weekday diners. The tofu burnt ends and bbq jack fruit sounded so intriguing that I almost begged the kind server to ask the chef if they could serve a side portion. Otherwise the bbq is served in pound increments. For my lucky tummy, they obliged and wow those are both delicious vegan options! Maybe next time, i will visit here earlier during my trip to be able to take home leftovers. Booth was cozy and love that water bottle to refill my glass is on my table which sounds weird but I drink alot of water! Small place , would recommend reservations for weekend dining. Parking lot was limited too. Enjoy!

We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink at the bar, and we were so impressed by how friendly the bartenders were. They were engaging and social. They set off our evening on a high note! My Pink Jaguar cocktail was beautiful and caused quite a buzz among the bar patrons! We opted to sit outside, and we are glad we did. The space is open and breezy but fully covered. No need to worry if a passing shower makes its way overhead. Steamed clams in white wine and Truffle fries for the table to start. Yum! All entrees are accompanied by a house salad or Ceasar salad. Our group ordered the Limone Chicken, Chicken Sfiziosa, Steak Frite, and the Eggplant Meatballs/Risotto. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. We loved everything. I know their linguine is house made, but not certain of the other pasta varietals. Cheesecake and Cannoli for dessert, because why not? Really nice experience! Our server was sweet and super-efficient. My only question for Filomena's Lakeview is "Where is the lake?" :)

We arrived around 3:45 PM without reservations and they immediately took us to an open table. Iced Waters were instant. Our server was very pleasant and she took our order. Bread quickly followed with two types served: Italian with sesame seeds and focaccia; however I was puzzled that it was served with a plate of hot peppers and onions in a juice. It seemed off but perhaps it's a Jersey thing. I've been all over in Italy and have never seen this. Olive oil would have been fine along with a splash of balsamic vinegar. Either way I skipped bread condiments. Next came the Fried Tomatoes topped with Lump Crab as an appetizer, but once again I had another head-scratcher, as this dish wasn't typical. First the entire dish lacked seasoning plus salt. Then red tomatoes were used and we all know what happens when you try to fry one. It turns to water after you cut it. The lump crab is what probably made this dish pricey but 3 thinly slices of a red tomato caught me off guard. Now for the final knock out: I ordered the Bone In Pork Chop and impressed that I was asked how Iiked it prepared? I said 145 degrees. She said, you mean well- done. I stated no, that would be in a range of medium. Lo and behold, it was fantastically preparation temperature, but it came topped with the same peppers and onions concoction that came out with the bread. I had no idea that this was a smothered situation. My broccolini was also a mystery. The mashed potatoes were mid. Now on to my daughter's chicken Parmesan: She said that it lacked flavor and had to add salt and pepper and also stated that the sauce was loose and there was too little of it. My wife enjoyed her Salmon. Jersey is cooking differently!!!!! I forgot to add: Underneath of my pork chop I discovered a mysterious piece of corn. I had no corn in my dish??????

We didn't realize that the restaurant was a part of a country club until we arrived (no where in the reviews did it mention this) but we've done brunch at other country clubs throughout Jersey and it was wonderful. Upon entering the restaurant we saw their only brunch option was for a brunch buffet and from our quick scans of the buffet walking to the hostess stand we all decided we would not be doing brunch (pastries looked like they were from Coscto, warm food looked as though it had been sitting there for a while and the omelettes coming from the omelette station didn't look spectacular so we opted to do their lunch menu instead. Service was SSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW! From the very beginning until the very end. It took about 15 minutes before our server arrived to greet us, then another 15 for our first round of cocktails to come out, the about a half an hour for us to be told that they were out of 1 of the 3 appetizers we ordered ... so no lie, after being there a full hour we finally received 2 of the 3 appetizers and were then just able to order a second round of cocktails and our main courses. The cocktails weren't the greatest either. We thought perhaps the first round was our fault because we all tried their "blackberry espresso martini" and we knew it was a risk from the beginning ... so we ordered "safer" cocktails for round 2 and the prosecco based cocktails were even worse than the blackberry espresso martinis smh. I truly don't understand how one messes up prosecco + a splash of limoncello and cranberry (that was what was supposed to be in the cocktail) but they certainly messed it up, to the point where I didn't drink it. Our entrees finally arrived and WOMP WOMP WOMP! Overall every single one was MID at best ... and all I had was French onion soup and a wedge salad .... like how is it possible for those to be BLAH? Food was so MEH we didn't even take pics lol. Needless to say we all agreed we wouldn't be back and wished we had decided on what was our 2nd option for brunch instead.

The sandwich needed more chipotle mayo on the side which was great for the fries. My medium rare wagyu burger with the bacon jam was HUGE! The jam did taste like beef jerky which was a new experience. We will definitely be back to try some of their other menu items.

My boyfriend and I sat in the bar area for a quick lunch on Friday. It was busy but not overly so. I got a drink that was decent. The service was also good but that's where the positives end. For a starter we tried the Hamachi Crudo. What came to the table was far from acceptable. Large hunks of tuna, some pieces with the white part of the skin still attached. It just looked botched. Bloodline and different sized pieces. You couldn't chew the white part so we had to cut it off. Then when we tried to eat it, it was full of pin bones. We picked out 4 pieces with bone. No real sauce on the plate. No flavor other than the chilis that were placed on top. One of the worst things I've ever been served. When our entrees came out first off, the French fries that we paid extra for were spare. My chicken avocado wrap tasted like nothing. It didn't have much chicken, I didn't notice any of the cheese or avocado ranch that was supposed to be on it. It was full of shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes. My BF said his turkey sandwich had no taste either and he wasn't sure it had what it said it should have on it. Very little turkey, undercooked, limp bacon and bread he said that was stale. Walking away we were just shocked. A bad course is one thing but every dish was just abysmal. You know it's bad when the people that were dining next to you grab you outside to see if your meal was as bad as theirs. I know, I should have shared by displeasure with staff but I'm so uncomfortable doing that. I don't need places to be perfect, I understand businesses have off days but this was a train off it's tracks kinda meal. I really hope Braddocks turns this around. But we will not be back.
