This place is bananas...literally!…read more My love and I planned our nice little Saturday ("Old School" anyone?) around stopping at The Original Banana Company to grab some after-dinner sweet treats for later. Five Yelp stars across the board? Doesn't get much better than that! We were warmly greeted by the staff, and they explained the menu to us. Being the Yelpers we are, we already conducted our research and entered locked and loaded and ready with our selections: - Toasted Smores Frozen Banana - they even asked how I like my marshmallows (burnt, please)! - Rice Krispy Treat Frozen Banana - gooey and delicious on all levels - Special of the Day Frozen Banana - Lucky charms, marshmallow, and caramel. Yowza! - Cookie Butter Cheesecake - my cholesterol surely shot up 50 points after this. Amazing! - Nutella UFO - hazelnut goodness! - Peanut Butter UFO - who knew peanut butter and banana bread complemented each other so well? We had such a fun time chatting with the staff and checking out the cool banana-themed décor. This place is an instant mood booster! The bananas were AMAZING. So unique and so delicious. We tried to tip but we were told they are not permitted to accept gratuities. In this day and age when EVERYONE has their hand out for a tip, it was refreshing to be declined. But honestly, they actually DO deserve a tip, and a big one at that! They are SO FRIENDLY! We cannot wait to return. Our plan is to sample the entire menu!

Eons better than all of the other frozen fruit/chocolate covered sweet treats in the grocery store ice cream section. Their ice cream sandwiches were amazing too-- they are made with banana bread. Somehow they kept the soft texture of the banana bread even with it being frozen. I highly recommend. Sensitive teeth approved.

We started off with fresh bread, made in-house, and a bottle of wine from Saddlehill Winery. (They sell bottles from the winery up the road.) bread was nice and crispy. For appetizers we did the clams casino and calamari. The clams casino were loaded with fresh red peppers and bacon and had a great smoky taste. The calamari was some of the best I've ever had! They don't use batter for the squid and it was still so crunchy and flavorful. The marinara was exquisite. For entrees I had the chicken francese which was battered well, and had a tangy lemony taste. Served with snap peas and mashed potatoes. My friend had the chicken parm and the spaghetti it was served with, as simple as it looked, was phenomenal. The chicken parm was a classic and fantastic choice, served with a nice oozing amount of cheese. We shared the ravioli Di aragosta which was stuffed extremely well with lobster and crabmeat and topped with carrot sauce! The carrot sauce was better than I expected, very creamy and light. Definitely a unique time to try. We ended the night with housemade tiramisu and Italian rum cake. Both desserts were so moist and tasty, not overly sweet, and light which made a perfect post-dinner treat. We also sampled their housemade limoncello which was so smooth and lemony! Safe to say I was blown away with the food. Everything is prepared fresh here and you can taste the passion in the dining. The owners are husband and wife, and Mr. Fieni does the cooking while Mrs. Fieni does the baking. What a perfect team! I love the simple collaborative approach they have. To top it off, the service was incredible. We had people checking in with us all night and our server was so friendly and personable. The dining room is simple - that would draw attention away from the outstanding food and service. This is truly an Italian restaurant done right! I'll definitely be back!

Don't give me a ramekin of…read morewhipped cream and tell me it's clotted cream like I'm stupid There are plenty of etiquette rules and standards to attending an afternoon tea service but there are as many to serving one. Management and ownership have never attended a tea service or researched how to host one Each table is limited to two selections and two pots of tea. Don't agree? Oh well. Refills? Extra charge. But wait you actually receive three pots of tea because upon seating a pot of the "seasonal" herbal tea is served whether you like it or not.m Additionally serving milk with black tea selections is apparently not standard practice here and needs to be specifically requested. The Earl Grey tea is excellent First course: salad. Hopefully no one in your party has severe nut allergies because before even taking tea selections a plate of spring mix buried under a pile of walnuts is dropped in front of you. Those in our party able to eat the salad did not enjoy it Second course: savouries. Finger sandwiches were fresh. Chicken salad was excellent. Egg salad on croissant was good I personally disagree with quiche being served as it's non-traditional but it is accepted in many circles and the quiche was also good However I have absolutely no doubt that the chicken salad and egg salad were scooped out of premade tubs from Sysco or Restaurant Depot judging by the sweets Scones: underbaked. Disappointing given reviews raving about them. Maybe we received a bad batch maybe the local population has never had a decent scone. Will not be returning to find out Presumably since the savoury scone (an abomination in my opinion) was served in the same course as a sweet scone the only butter served was a savoury herb butter. As a result there was no butter available for the "butterscotch" scone and there would not have been enough anyway considering we received about a tablespoon of butter and two tablespoons of both other toppings between five people The "clotted cream" has been addressed as it was the most offensive part of enduring this experience. Rather than a traditional jam or marmalade none of which we were served we were given a "mango compote." How someone decided mango and butterscotch are complementary I have no idea. Anyone in this industry would recognize Reàl purée squeezed out of a plastic bottle Sweets: thaw and serve La Boulangerie des Gourmets frozen macarons (which include a pistachio flavor and are packaged in one tray so again watch for nut allergies if you think you're safe eating a lemon macaron as this obviously isn't disclosed). I see these are being sold separately outside of the tea service 6/$14. They are 57¢ ea Chocolate mousse mix piped into a plastic cup with a processed whipped topping. The most edible dessert Menu lists lemon cheesecake server identified small tarts as key lime pie. Not sure which we received but can note the filling at least (probably not the tart shell) is made in house because we received more than one batch with one having not even a hint of citrus Saving the worst for last the "strawberry" cupcake. First and foremost cupcakes chocolate mousse and macarons (and most egregious cannolis listed on the children's menu) are not standard sweets served with afternoon tea. But this cupcake? The cupcakes we were served here were the driest cake I have ever seen in my life completely inedible. The frosting was some sort of processed palm oil goo and neither cake nor frosting had any strawberry flavor Atmosphere and service: service was friendly albeit casual slow and not attentive. Server was not very knowledgeable. Not her fault Space was fine if gaudy. Table was crowded. I share another reviewer's sentiment but the table cloth was about a foot longer than the table was high which made sitting movement or pushing a chair in difficult. It felt like wearing a heavy blanket that was pulled taut the entire experience Paper napkins and plastic dishes. At over $40 per person you would expect more As a side note standard afternoon tea practice is being offered or asking for additional items the guests like. However the menu had prices listed for additional sides of all items served on the tea service. Given the quality vs cost this felt particularly gauche It's hard to comprehend why the owners or management here can't get the tea service right. The hardest part is finger sandwiches and freshness which they seem to have managed. Good quality premade desserts are available and scones are not difficult to make. It honestly seems like a lack of effort on their part or a lack of respect for their customers which is frustrating All in all a very expensive abysmal experience. I'm sure there are decent afternoon teas available in this area at a similar price. Fortnum and Mason and the Covent Garden Hotel in London both known for afternoon teas charge £45 per person Two stars for the chicken salad server and Earl Grey

There's two dining areas that can be chosen with one having a bar that can seat 10+ people. Started with a couple of great drinks and their french onion soup. The soup was topped with a cheese layer and pieces of crostinis within the soup. Great for a snowy day. The california chicken wrap was a big meal especially with the flaky french fries on the side. The sandwich needed more chipotle mayo on the side which was great for the fries. My medium rare wagyu burger with the bacon jam was HUGE! The jam did taste like beef jerky which was a new experience. We will definitely be back to try some of their other menu items.

We didn't realize that the restaurant was a part of a country club until we arrived (no where in the reviews did it mention this) but we've done brunch at other country clubs throughout Jersey and it was wonderful. Upon entering the restaurant we saw their only brunch option was for a brunch buffet and from our quick scans of the buffet walking to the hostess stand we all decided we would not be doing brunch (pastries looked like they were from Coscto, warm food looked as though it had been sitting there for a while and the omelettes coming from the omelette station didn't look spectacular so we opted to do their lunch menu instead. Service was SSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW! From the very beginning until the very end. It took about 15 minutes before our server arrived to greet us, then another 15 for our first round of cocktails to come out, the about a half an hour for us to be told that they were out of 1 of the 3 appetizers we ordered ... so no lie, after being there a full hour we finally received 2 of the 3 appetizers and were then just able to order a second round of cocktails and our main courses. The cocktails weren't the greatest either. We thought perhaps the first round was our fault because we all tried their "blackberry espresso martini" and we knew it was a risk from the beginning ... so we ordered "safer" cocktails for round 2 and the prosecco based cocktails were even worse than the blackberry espresso martinis smh. I truly don't understand how one messes up prosecco + a splash of limoncello and cranberry (that was what was supposed to be in the cocktail) but they certainly messed it up, to the point where I didn't drink it. Our entrees finally arrived and WOMP WOMP WOMP! Overall every single one was MID at best ... and all I had was French onion soup and a wedge salad .... like how is it possible for those to be BLAH? Food was so MEH we didn't even take pics lol. Needless to say we all agreed we wouldn't be back and wished we had decided on what was our 2nd option for brunch instead.
