Wow. Checking out Skyler's reviews and there are no recent reviews. So here's my cut. I can't recommend them. Their menu is very limited with no corned beef or pastrami, let alone Hot Capicola or Sopressata. I ordered a Roasted Turkey but it had no flavor. They use Dietz Watson meats (as most local shops do), so they should be at least equal. But the whole hoagie was tasted just of the bread. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Orders are all made to order. But they just fall short. With Hoagie shops on almost every corner, there are better choices. read more

As a 12 year old and growing up in the Italian deli business. This is before Sneeze guards, gloves, digital scales, and the internet. (And a few too many hoagies) I must say this place brings me back to being a child when friends and I used to go fishing at Traino's pond but before that we would hit up Jerry's Deli which is now a medical center behind the Meeting House 7-11. Jerry's used to have the freshest hoagie for about a buck and a 1/4. I will say Skylers brings me back to those days by serving up super fresh sandwiches made exactly like Jerry's. It's the only place when I ask for extra lettuce and tomatoes I actually get it! Skylers has to be the cleanest establishment I have ever seen, they have literally coined the phrase "you can eat off the floor, walls, and ceiling.... I wish I could give a higher rating, especially after reading prior reviews. I had the homemade chicken salad hoagie. It was good overall (fresh roll, tomatoes) but the chicken salad itself was too piecey or something. It had a pretty good taste though. This was a work lunch treat, and we like to give local "mom and pop" stores our business. I'd try Skyler's again with another menu item. First visit and I'll be back whenever passing thru. I was in my way to Lewes De from Monmouth County NJ and wanted to bring home hoagies for dinner. I hit up the add stop on google maps and Skylers popped up.... checked it out on Yelp and bam- I was on my way. Only about 10 minutes off the turnpike it was easy to find. Small unassuming store in a nice strip mall. Went I. And had 2 immediate impressions..... the place was SPOTLESS and the greeting from the staff was sincere. Nice start ! I ordered and American and an Italian hoagie, one in the seeded and one in the plain rolls. Had a lovely conversation with the owner while his wife made the sandwiches. They were beautifully wrapped very nicely for travel. Got home 2 hours later, opened them up along with the bacon potato salad they sell and went to town. The hoagies were delicious, nicely made, exactly as I requested, and extremely fresh. The rolls were awesome. The bacon potato salad delicious. This place is a gem... no doubt about it. So you may ask/ why not 5 Stars ? Because there was not much meat in the sandwich. It may be enough for some, but an extra meat option would be a good addition to the menu. Small quiet strip mall sandwich shop. We were in the area and took yelp suggestion. The staff was really nice. Only 3 tables so we ate in our car which wasn't a problem for us. Took a chance and ordered cheesesteak and chicken parm. Both sandwiches were excellent and fairly priced. Under $10 each and their regular hoagies were in the $8 range.
