Being new to the area, stumbled on this gem. The subs are soooo good. Had the steak sub. For $17.99, it was excellent. And huge 20" !! The wife had a italian sub, which I had to taste, because it looked so good. It didn't disappoint!!! Also got the works 16" pizza. It had the right amount of sauce and the toppings was fresh. This place is great! In NJ from out of town for a hockey tournament and picked them solely on the basis of good yelp reviews and The Sub Shoppe lived up to them. Terrific cheesesteak hoagies, wraps, club sandwiches, salads. The "rolls" looked so good while I was waiting for our order that I had to try a veggie one and it was also fantastic. They also have the usual pepperoni rolls and unusual chicken and spinach. Twice the size of most of their ilk, good dough and not greasy at all. The place was spotless and I noticed that they also sell Italian cookies and their own hot sauce. I think the Sub Shoppe is an independent and not a chain. Service is very good: a couple of guys carried out trays to the car. Definitely recommend them and in the unlikely event that we make finals we will give their pizza a shot. read more

Decided to swing by to order a few subs and wings for the NFC and AFC championship games. Arrived around 2pm and didn't place an order over the phone for pick up because I was struggling to find a menu. We ordered a cheese steak with fried onions, an Italian sub, a cheesesteak hoagie, pizza fries, and 20 wings. Everything was ready pretty quickly by the time we ordered. The workers had a great attitude and sense of humor. The wings are breaded and come with sauce on the side. We had traditional Buffalo sauce. The breading is thick but pretty tasty and the leftover wings reheated nicely in the air fryer. The breading on the wings is good enough to eat them dry. The rolls for the subs and cheesesteaks were soft. We very much enjoyed the sandwiches we ordered. The fries were the least enjoyable out of everything, but weren't too bad. The price was reasonable for what we ordered and I was pleased with the decision to order from Sub Shoppe this weekend. read more

1st, we love this place. Now, ordered a large cheese pizza at 5:08 PM (can't drive, just got out of hospital). Was told 30 minutes. At 6:04 PM, the driver called to ask where we lived. I told him, and he was in the wrong development and not even close. At 6:08, I called the pizza shop, told them I don't want this pizza as it is cold by now as your driver is not here yet. They made me a new one and said it would be delivered in 30 minutes. At the 42 minute mark, I called and spoke to the owner. He said he will call the driver and call me back. He never called back. But, the second driver called to ask where I lived. Keep in mind, this place has delivered to my place for the past 5 years. They even confirm my address by telling it to me. So, I call again, speak with the owner, and he said I will have it delivered and no charge for you as it is now two hours in. Lo and behold, three hours in and still no pizza. Very disappointing experience from a local pizza restaurant we use all the time. Will we use them again, most likely, but this service deserves the rating given. read more

Oh my God, the sub shop excellent excellent food the hoagies, the cheesesteaks the fries everything is awesome on Forklanding Road. You got a try it if you guys like food trying different things. Quesadillas. Not having them from Sub Shoppe before, we took a chance and holy wow, it was worth it. Well worth the price, they we're the perfect amount of cheese and chicken and a beautiful golden brown. They are huge, pizza size, and absolutely delicious. Their salsa is awesome. I've enjoyed all of my meals from here. The salads are enough for 2 and so delicious, so much so that I don't go to the mall to Salad Works anymore. Plus the prices here are pretty reasonable and the service is great. Next to pricey Pats, this place has the best White Pizza I've ever eaten. This day I ordered a tossed salad with grilled chicken and mozzarella cheese, and as you can see, it was as delicious as it looks. If you're in Maple Shade try them, the garlic bread chicken parm sandwiches are delicious too. read more

This has so far been my favorite place to eat Pizza, being originally from New York it's difficult finding pizza that's comparable, I figured because it's just one state over it would be close but I was for years unable to find any comparison, The Sub Shoppe comes the closest. They got good specials, good creations and absolutely amazing pizza, their garlic knots are also the beez-neez. Do yourself a favor and give them a shot. You can order for delivery or pick up, you can also dine-in, it's a nice little cozy spot to eat, everyone is friendly and it seems to be pretty busy but they never keep me waiting. I ordered their margarita pie and it's the best margarita pizza I've ever tasted. Great flavor, a little sweet with the sauce but I enjoy that. Spices and ricotta cheese amount was spot on. I'm pretty sure David Portney would rate at least a 7.0! The 5 rating is solely based on that alone. I highly recommend at least trying. My favorite pizza shop in Maple Shade! Larger menu than other pizza shops in town. Their hoagies are much better than Montesinis as their rolls are much fresher and tastier. Whenever we have friends and family in town and we order from the Dub Shoppe, they're always blown away by the quality and taste. Their staff is always friendly and takeout orders are always ready when I go to pickup. They often throw in a free 2 liter soda which is a nice touch. read more

I order pizza and wings from here all the time even after I moved out of maple shade. The food here is amazing especially the Brooklyn pizza! The service is fast and they treat you like family. After moving to maple shade and everyone raving about this place I decided to try it. First time got mozzarella sticks and cheesesteaks. Not good. Bread was almost stale and mozzarella sticks weren't melted. Decided to give it another shot and ordered their "famous" wings. Omg the worst. They went soggy and absolutely horrible. UPDATE: Ordered pizza through the sub shoppe through the app Slice. Bacon wasn't an option as a topping but it said to type in anything additional and it will just charge you extra. Knowing they had bacon as an option we typed it in and just assumed they would charge for the topping no big deal. 30 min later they delivered a plain pizza. I called and said I ordered w bacon and they were extremely rude saying well you didn't pay for it. I said it specifically says that you will just charge extra which would have been done. The guy on the phone said he would send me a new pizza but we would have to pay for both. They made it sound like we were trying to complain and get free pizza which we would never do. I went here to get a cheese steak and a chicken salad hoagie for opening day of the NFL season. I hadn't been in this place in years but it used to be pretty good. The food was good and really reasonably priced. Nice people own the place as well. I'll be back again since it's only 5 minutes from where I live. I used to live in New Jersey when I was a one-year old back in 1974. For years my parents told me about this place. As I was heading down to DC, I decided to look for this place. All I ever heard was how amazing their Italian sub and cheesesteaks were. Boy were my parents right. As for the Italian, it is absolutely amazing, with a pile of Italian meats (including capicola, I think), with some of the best tasting white bread I have ever experienced. Also, they don't overload the veggies, so you get the meat and veggie flavors working together perfectly. But what they really nailed was the amount of salt, pepper, oil and vinegar they put on. Not too much, not too little, but absolutely right. My father told me I needed to try the cheesesteak, and he was right. He said it was the best cheesesteak had ever had (and that was back in 1974). Now I can say that it is the best cheesesteak I have ever had in 2015. It actually taste quite similar to a Jersey Mike's cheesesteak (which was my favorite until I had this one) but the bread at The Sub Shoppe is way better. The ingredients that they use here are work together and have the most amazing taste. So yes, mom and dad, this place tastes just as good as it did 40 years ago. Thanks for tell me about it. PLEASE MAKE MILKSHAKES!! Sub Shoppe is a no brainer. In business since 1960, i was raised on this food. The subs and special sandwiches are always made fresh and the pizza is absolutely perfect especially if you spend a few seconds to express your individual preferences. I love the chicken salad with cranberries and the gigantic baked calzone. The owner Joe has always gone the mile to satisfy my insane preferences such as add the white onion to the steak 30 seconds before taking off the grill and only 15 french fries! The menu is huge and they enjoy a dedicated fan base. I graduated many years ago and its a darn reunion when I go. The one thing that really cemented my loyalty to this restaurant is their youtube video where you see Joe putting more than a pound of Thurman lunch meats on the gigantic whole hoagie. Lastly, i have noticed the ridiculously cheap board specials and website specials and when I asked why so cheap, Joe essentially the economy is bad and it was his way of giving back. read more

I ordered three sandwiches. One was the house special steak sandwich (half) which has onions, green peppers, pepperoni, and extra cheese along with the steak. The fill on the sandwich was very good and tasted very good. It could have had more pepperoni. The second sandwich was an italian hoagie (half). The flavor was very good, however the fill on this sandwich was a little small. If it had an extra slice of each cold cut and cheese along with more veggies, this sandwich would have been excellent. The third sandwich was the spiced ham and provolone hoagie (half). The flavor was very good, however the fill on this sandwich was also a little small. If it had two extra slices of ham and cheese along with more veggies, this sandwich would have been excellent. We called on Halloween evening and they were extremely busy. The phone line was busy many times and I was disconnected once. Management was very nice. They allowed me to use a voucher for takeout because of limited mobility. I applaud management when they treat customers very well. On the negative, I could not find an up to date menu online anywhere. There were menus but all had out of date prices and were text like menus. The Sub Shoppe needs a pdf of the actual restaurant menu on the website with current prices. We just got the Sub Shoppe's Special of two (2) pizzas and a 2 liter soda for $20.99. When my son arrived home, the credit card receipt showed they charged us $23.18. We called the Sub Shoppe and the girl on the telephone said, "Oh, the price of the special went from $19.99 to $20.99, sorry." The NJ State Sales tax (i.e., 6.63%) on $20.99 is $1.39, for a total price of $22.38. The Sub Shoppe charged us an additional 80 cents to use a credit card! Please watch out for this place because they penalize you for using credit card without notifying you! Very unprofessional!!! read more

Got the wings delivered recently and they're pretty good, perfect crisp, perfect amount of temperature but my only complaint would be that the wings themselves are really small. Other than that I would definitely gives this place another shot in the future! read more
