Sorry to say this place is going down hill fast. The chicken wings are the smallest of any place I have ordered wings from and they're too spicy. Nothing mild, they are deep fried with some type of spicy flavoring and over cooked. Now let me get to the pathetic excuse for a Calzone, barely any cheese and even less ham. My husband brought the food home, we did not eat there. I gave up going there years ago when the redhead behind the cash register over charged my bill by $14. Now I ate what my husband brought home as he likes this place HOWEVER even HE declared the food was horrible. Our new hometown pizzeria! This is a little joint that is very underrated! It is a classic old school NY pizzeria! And I mean classic. The inside has kind of a 90's vibe to it. I do not believe that it has been updated inside since then, but it does not feel dated! It is always on the dark side every time that I go. Staff is always super friendly and very welcoming! I have gone here a few times and it is definitely the best pizza in the area. If you go earlier in the day around lunch time, their display case is filled with a ton of varieties, from the typical Chicken Bacon Ranch to Buffalo Chicken, as well as tortellini Alfredo slices and Vodka Chicken Parm. I am also a massive fan of their pepperoni garlic nots, and their massive garlic sticks! Other great items are their bruschetta and their salads. I was not a fan of their burger, it was a frozen hockey puck. But since this a Pizzeria not a burger joint, I do not hold it against them. All in all, great location! I have heard good things about this spot and finally got to check it out. The place was hopping with little wait staff, but the service was excellent and fast! Our large group ordered something from just about every part of the menu, and everyone was happy with their food. My chicken Caesar wrap was filled with grilled chicken ..not those frozen grilled pieces you often find...and was perfect! The fries were spot on crispy and hot. The prices are reasonable. Always great food and good service and have been going there for years. During Covid they seem to have made changes to ingredients of lesser quality. This was due to supply issues. Been a Red Star fan for over 25 years and the pizza is still good, but not like years past. They used to have great hoagies and cheese steaks but not anymore. They cut back on the amount of meats for both and raised their prices. Last hoagie I got was mostly lettuce, haven't been back since. We were driving around, hunger kicked in, and this place happened to be less than a mile away. We stopped right outside of the restaurant and there was an elderly man walking to his car carrying a pizza so we asked how the pizza is. He replied, best in town. We called and ordered a large cheese pizza for the kids, Saporito for me, and husband got the Chicken Marsala. What a disappointment. I'm giving it 2 stars because the pizza wasn't too bad. I'm all for supporting small businesses, but if the service isn't there, you must know. I must say, I've never had such water down, tasteless pasta in my life. The Saporito, I believe, was about $15. Not worth it. I don't live near that area so I know for a fact I won't be going back there again. But we paid 40 something dollars for tasteless food and some mediocre pizza. read more

I stopped in this afternoon for slices because my mom said it was good. I think it's the best pizza on the route 70 corridor between cherry hill and Southampton. The sauce was perfect and tasted like it was made with fresh tomatoes. The best part is the crust was thin. Many places in south jersey claim to make NY style pizza but the crust is too thick. I might be a little partial to this place because I've been coming to red star for over 30 years and they've never disappointed me, if there's ever anything wrong they are always real quick to fix it and make you a satisfied customer. The staff is always so nice as well, they always stay right on top of your drinks and bring the food out as quickly as they possibly can. I tried that and really wanted to like it based on how much everyone else likes it. but the crust is consistently too doughy, no crunch. and the taste is flat. Red Star is the best pizza in the area, hands down. put Riv to shame, really. I've been going to Red Star Pizza for a few months. The last few times I've gone there the girl at the front desk would see me as the next customer but would ask the customer behind me if they needed help. The 1st couple of times I excused because it was crowded. But every time after is UNEXCEPTABLE! It seems its on purpose because I'm African American and not too many of us live in the Southampton community. I feel the young lady's main focuse is on receiving a tip and not service. It's a shame cause I really like Red Star 's pizza. UNFORNUTATELY I will not be returning. Red Star pizza will continue to loose a lot more customers if that young lady at the front desk don't learn the true meaning of customer service. read more
