Food was terrible. It was cold when it arrived, our waitress ignored us and never ask if we needed anything, or if the food was ok.

I probably shouldn't have gone out, but......... If you mention John and Molly's, I will throw myself together and run out the door with you So far everything that we have ate from their menu has been beyond delicious and with being in the middle of lent, I decided to give up cheese, big mistake, but I wanted to do something hard. But the service that is amazing and all the smiling staff here make up for anything that I don't see on the menu. The place is really well put together and is a very handsome bar it's mostly very wooden and heavy duty. The ambience is something for everyone on the TV or you can just chitchat. They even have this little side room that is nice but beware and bring a coat or a sweater cause it does get chilly in there. They're always seems like a really great group of people there and our favorite waitress is KB/Kristen. She is truly amazing and very attentive, but not annoying. We love their chicken fajitas and steak fajitas, the Cheesesteaks are delish! But My Newest Favorite for the Moment..... is the "We Jammin Burger". It has bacon onion Jam on it and it is amazing! I didn't think that I would like it as Much as I do! But I Realllllllly Do! I'm not really a burger fan... like my husband Is, But THIS BURGER..... has been a Game changer for Me. Warning: Make room in your fridge... because You will definitely bring leftovers home. This meal can feed a family of 4 Easily!! Their Cajun quesadilla is delicious and it does have a nice little zing. Their traditional wings are amazing and their beef stew is delicious and very hearty. We have tried many of their specialties. The Hail Mary is a delicious Caesar salad on top of chicken cutlets and their Broccoli Chicken Cheesesteak is amazing. I recommend you get it pressed on the grill and that way it won't fall out as you bite each delicious bite. I would say 80 to 90% of the visits that we have had at this amazing establishment. We always bring home leftovers. So be aware that you were going to have lunch for tomorrow. You will get to the point where you will just think of something to eat that they have on their menu and your mouth will just start to drool. We definitely recommend going. I'm not a huge drinker so I really can't say much as for their drinks but everyone there seems very happy and the portions are huge. I so wanted to love this place however I am not a fan. Let's start with the chicken Parmesan. Honestly, this is probably the only thing that I absolutely loved out of all the mails that we picked out.. The pasta literally lacks sauce as you can see it's more of meat and red sauce, but it didn't even cover all the pasta when you mixed it in. Which also like seasoning flavors. We ordered the pizza for our kids. Our kids were a little disappointed by it as they had more onions than they had of actual meat. A lot of of the onions was covered by the cheese.. The burger I feel like it lacks a description as I didn't know it came with two onion rings and by the time we got home, which is not even five minutes away, the cheese had already hardened. I decided on getting sweet potato fries. They were extremely soggy. They weren't fully cooked. The calamari rings were good however, the sauce is the exact same pasta sauce used for the spaghetti, which was a little bit disappointing. I was recommended this place as I was visiting the area and I love enjoying and trying new places however I try to keep it as honest as possible. There is room for improvement the presentation as well. The food looks aesthetically pleasing however, the lack of flavors is very offputting.. Pros: Our waitress, Alicia, was an absolute sweetheart and made several great food recommendations, including the hot honey wings, Jammin' burger, and chocolate cake--all of which were very good. The portion sizes were generous; both my burger and the Cheesesteak Deluxe were large enough that we brought leftovers home from both entrées. Cons: Unfortunately, the drinks were not good. I ordered a Downeast Cider on tap and it tasted like the line may not have been cleaned recently. My companion ordered a cosmopolitan that was essentially undrinkable--extremely strong and not well balanced. We later learned the bartender is new, so hopefully that improves with experience. The wings were also served cold, and the Jammin' burger came out without the bacon jam that's supposed to be a key part of the dish. The restaurant itself is also very tight quarters. If you prefer more personal space or feel more comfortable in places where it's easy to move around or exit quickly, this may not be the best spot for you. Overall: The staff was very attentive and clearly tried to make things right after several mistakes occurred. They comped our soda, appetizer, and dessert, which we appreciated. However, given the number of issues during one visit, I'm not sure we'd return. read more

Well, my pets came home from some fairgrounds, they said there were dogs all over, but they didn't take me. Huh. (GROWL). Anywoof, they said they stopped at John & Molly's. They said the food was good (not that they brought any for me), but that is was loud inside. I can bark louder. They also said no dogs allowed inside. Went for a quick lunch and a few drinks today. Tried the Drunken Chicken Parm off the lunch menu, I've had the regular, this was a nice switch up. Sandwich, just like all of their portions, was huge and delicious! Service was great as usual, often we get takeout, but sometimes it's nice to sit inside and enjoy the feel of the local pub. Really nice draft, bottle, can, and drink selections. Went before happy hour, so we had no wait, but their Happy Hour is pretty solid. I love John & Mollys and always stop by to eat here when I'm in town. The restaurant itself is pretty old and run down, but it has a lot of character. There is dining room seating and bar seating on the other side. I almost always get the chicken parm when I come here. The price and portion size can't be beat for how good it is! I love their wings too. They are not those scrawny wings you get at some places, they actually have meat on them. They do lunch specials as well but you have to dine in to get them, which is a bummer if you don't have time and want to take it to go. But really I don't have much to complain about. We have been going here for years, but something's has changed. I ordered the chicken parm and it came with almost no sauce. When I asked for more sauce, they said there is an extra charge. If you look at the picture you'll see there is about a tablespoon of sauce and it's very thin. When I told them this, they said there was sauce under the cheese, which there was not. You would think that of you spoke to the chef about it and they saw the meal didn't have much sauce, they would get you more. To charge extra for sauce that is supposed to come with the meal is just stupid. This is the last time we will go to this restaurant. read more

The bar was packed and everyone really seemed to be enjoying themselves. The restaurant started to fill up too before I left. Plenty of parking though. It was tough to choose - food AND beer. So many options for both and everything sounded delicious. Opted for the Napoleon Burger and subbed mixed veggies rather than fries. I'm stuffed. Everything was cooked perfectly. My waitress, Kimberly was friendly and super efficient. My only "regret" is that there was absolutely no way I could save room for dessert. Tiramisu cheesecake? Four layer carrot cake? Service was very slow. At first I just thought it was busy because the place was full but after sitting a while just waiting for my can of beer I realized it's just the service. Despite almost very table and bar seats being full there was no wait to be seated. If the service was at a reasonable speed they could have easily turned 1/3 of their tables faster. The dining room was very crowded and loud, I had to move my table just to get into my seat which was up against a wall. I also witness other tables having the same issue. When ordering I was asked if I wanted soup or a salad, I asked what the soup was. A few were listed, I ordered the French onion soup. The bowl arrived with a melted helmet of what tasted like mozzarella (not parmesean) which made it very difficult to eat without spilling soup everywhere. Once I broke through the cheese helmet I discovered a whole piece of bread (no croutons) that had absorbed a lot of broth and had expanded to take up most of the bowl. Needless to say, I did not eat much soup. When I got the bill there was a $4.50 up-charge for the French onion soup. I wouldn't have ordered it again for free, definitely not worth an up-charge. For my entree I ordered the crabcakes, pointed to it on the menu when I ordered. I was brought fried chicken. "Oh, I thought you said fried chicken". No I said and pointed to crabcakes. When my order finally arrived it was ok. The crabcakes were more like croquettes, the insides were creamy without much texture. They had a decent selection of beer I guess, though most was in cans/bottles. read more

I'm quite impressed by this dive bar-ish restaurant. The hospitality was pleasant and the food was quite decent compared to other bars... trust me, bar food can go in many directions and you'll find out sooner or later what you ate. That prime rib sandwich was humungous and a tasty treat, especially with the side au ju. The wings were good, not the best, and definitely not the worst. Nachos were flavorful and hit the spot to complete this night. This place hits on all cylinders. A very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere and excellent service. You feel like you're at a relatives for dinner. Our server Karen was amazing and very attentive to our table. The food is high quality and the portions are Very generous. The side salads served with dinner are of nice size and fresh! The Chicken Henley was amazing with a great Marsala sauce. And my NY Strip was cooked to perfection. (Pittsburgh (Black and Blue) Rare. Tender and a quality cut of beef. Back again after a short hiatus and it's always nice to come back to a place where they know your name know what you like. Know what you like to drink and where you can just eat drink and enjoy with the company. This time we went totally different than our past trips and opted for some sandwiches tonight my wife had a French dip, provolone and had a side of sweet potato fries, and I had the Brooklyn Reuben and swapped in mixed vegetables. I don't know how John and Molly's has passed my radar and I haven't reviewed them. We have been here so many times over the past several years and have yet to have a bad experience. John and Molly's is a cozy little bar with a dining area. They serve typical bar food as well as entrées. However, I can't speak for anything other than the amazing chicken parm. This is what I get every. Single. Time. I go! A chicken Parmesan that rivals just about any Italian restaurant I've been to this baby is huge and spans and even hangs off of the plate. Crispy. Juicy. Zesty sauce and melting oozing delightful cheese served with your choice of soup or salad always fresh and tasty. The service is always on point and all of the staff work together to make sure you have everything you need and your meal is just as you want it They do have a 90 minute table limit, but I have never been asked to leave. They definitely fill up fast. That said, we have never had to wait long for a table. When you have a craving for some chicken harm, I cannot recommend John and Molly's enough. From the start, their beer and drink selection stood out with a great range that offers something for everyone. I ordered the NY strip, which came out juicy and perfectly cooked, paired with a loaded potato and baked eggplant. The biggest surprise was the eggplant. I didn't expect it as a side, but it was baked to absolute perfection. Crispy edges, tender inside, and seasoned just right. Honestly, it could have stood on its own as a main dish. What really made the experience exceptional was the service. My friend ordered a drink that didn't hit the mark for her. We were just going to let it go and try something else, but when the waitress came by, she noticed and immediately offered to replace it. No hesitation, just genuine care. That level of attentiveness is rare and really elevated the experience. The portions are massive. You will definitely leave full or with a box to go. The environment is awesome and perfect for meeting up with friends or colleagues to catch up on work and life. Service a bit slow. My wife ordered a crab cake which resembled a croquet. The waitress lied to me and said it was jumbo lump. The eggplant I got was a side was not good. Waitress took over 10 minutes to bring out boxes for our food. The cocktail was stiff but I had better. Shame a bar cannot provide a decent burger but will try their wings next visit. Yelpers let me down again. For the quality, price, atmosphere (very loud), lack of service this place is as mediocre at best. read more

Stopped by for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon around 2-3 PM. We were seated right away in the porch area, which the hostess confirmed with us beforehand. While the porch offers a nice spot, it's a little tight, and it's easy to catch snippets of nearby conversations. Our waitress was on point--quick with drinks, attentive throughout, and made sure everything was running smoothly. My girlfriend is a big fan of their Chubby Chicken sandwich and sticks with it every time, skipping the bacon. I gave the Jammin' Burger a try, and while I was hoping for a rarer cook, it still delivered. Went to John & Molly's for my bff's birthday and John & Molly's lived up to the reviews! Wow! Service piece is extremely well thought out - text for wait list notifications (15ish minutes at 630 on a Friday night - originally told 25), friendly wait staff that is consistently baton passing to cover each other's tables when needed, special (veg) requests accommodated. Wonderfully friendly crowd and our waitress was a gem. Beer list is a wish list of all of the favs and lots of discovery - especially the specials (thank you for noting which kegs were already kicked!). Frosted glasses a plus. Although we didn't order, spotted a delicious plate of nachos piled high nearby and agreed we would have to get that next time. Started with the most ginormous onion rings and petal sauce - yum! My friend got the country chicken which is her usual favorite - like sausage peppers and onions pasta dish with a kick. Definitely could make 1-2 more meals out of the generous portion. I ordered the NY Reuben and as a vegetarian subbed in the mushrooms instead of the brisket and ordered it closed faced (also generous portion!). The thickness of rye bread is really meant for open faced, I later discovered - still good, but maybe a little more grease/grilling of the bread to bring out that Reuben flavor! Fries were fresh cut from what I could tell and deliciously hot out of the fryer. We closed the night with a nice slice of carrot cake - mentioned to the server if was a birthday and we got the best birthday treatment ever - staff got the whole restaurant to join in singing happy birthday and cake was complete with a candle. John & Molly's has some of the best bar food I've had, located within a historic building. The wings are rated, seemingly independently, as some of the best in the state and they were addictive. They serve a breaded fried chicken-style wing that's properly crispy and juicy with a variety of sauce options. I had the sauce of the month, the mango habanero, which seemed house-made with a solid balance of sweetness and spice. Then the fried bar combo, only available during 4-6pm during the week, might have been even better: mozzarella sticks that pulled far with an accompanying marinara sauce that had depth and flavor, onion rings with thick-cut onions and a crispy exterior, chicken tenders that probably are the generic type, and potato skins that are loaded and pleasantly fluffy. This has the appearance and staff of a quaint neighborhood bar, where it's welcoming as if a patron is visiting a family member at their home. The kitchen also appeared to be clean, and they go further than average to have uniquely large dishes that would make me want to come back despite the restaurant being out of the way. read more

Unfortunately NOT as good as they used to be. Ordered a turkey reuben. Hardly any turkey, the coleslaw & cheese were fine, but they put this on extremely huge Texas toast type of bread. The bread is about 3/4" thick, giving the false appearance that you have ordered a large sandwich, but all you get is way too much bread. If you want a bread sandwich, with minimal meat, then order the turkey Reuben. Shame on them for even including the word TURKEY in this sandwich. About done with this establishment. Apparently, like so many places in this state in recent years, quality & quantity just don't matter. Customers notice and move on! read more

Cute local spot great to grab a bite and drinks. This is a nice size space with a large bar. I went in on a Wednesday nite and it was surprisingly business. Since it was only 2 of us we just sat at the bar. The staff was really nice and very helpful. Both of the ladies working the bar that nite was great. They were also playing the musical hits from early 2000's hiphop and R&B which was a plus. They basically have the ultimate bar game day foods, in large portion size. This place is great for groups/families, you can feed an army. I got the pizza which was ok...had way too many green peppers and not enough pepperoni and sausage.
