I've lived in Medford my whole life and always remember coming to Ott's as a kid. I've heard some live music before and definitely remember loving their loaded tater tots! I'm basing this review solely on a visit I had a few months ago. I went on a double date when it was still warm enough to eat outside. We were seated far from others and it felt very safe. We got a menu but also were able to scan for a menu. There were so many options I didn't know what to choose! I ended up going with a salmon caesar salad which was delicious! My girlfriend got buffalo chicken salad and the bay fries. My boyfriend got wings and our other friend got a burger. No one had any complaints with the food!! The service was nice and quick and we enjoyed our meal! We were close enough to the bar to be able to look over to the TV's as well. Like I said, this was months ago, so I'm unsure of how they are doing with indoor dining. Overall, loved the meal and will be back soon! read more

Just read some recent reviews. Lots of shockingly bad reviews that I don't understand. Again, I'm not saying everyone's gonna have a great experience but I've been to this place more times than I can remember and I've really never had a bad experience. So somewhere along the line the ownership of Ott's Medford changed. It is now run by the folks who manage Braddock's. The side bar is nice and big bar. And it's open air in warm weather. The beer selection is stellar. I like hanging out there But the menu changed. And not for the better. They food has gone way downhill. I'm not from around this way but I must say I felt really welcomed there. I didn't know which way to walk in when I first got there so I headed towards the large TVs and fire pit outside. We ended up getting a seat on the deck with a high top. It was super busy during happy hour with a 2 piece band playing. We got some margs and some simple apps....bar food was exactly what we were lookn for. Took a walk inside and the whole venue changed. It was like what applbeez should be like based off the commercials. The wife will kill me for this but we both agreed the bar staff was pretty sexy. In our eyes always a plus. Very rude staff!! You can put your order in, if you can get them off their phones or stop them from eating. It feels like they're doing you a favor getting you a drink. Sometimes there isn't a bartender behind the bar. I haven't been there in a little while, but it was never like this before. Seems like all the good bartenders left and the new ones don't care. No one cleans. The bar is sticky, glasses are dirty, and the tap beer is disgusting. Are the lines ever cleaned? Went the bathroom and it was extremely dirty, smelled bad, sewer flies, with trash everywhere. My wife used the lady's room, and she will never go to this bar again. Trash everywhere, locks broken, bad smell, with throw up all over the one toilet. I guess they don't clean the bathrooms either. If the bathrooms are this bad, how bad is the kitchen? For consistency sake and to be fair; because this is my first review EVER I waited to write a review...I went to Ott's Medford multiple times: during peak hours (Game day-Go FLYERS!/weekends) and when they weren't that busy. Found myself hanging out about once a week for the next 4-5 weeks? Great atmosphere, love the fire pit, and the appetizers are delicious as well. The nachos and loaded tots are SO GooOooOoD!! The service is great, you are never without a drink, no matter how busy they are. If you happen to go there on a weekend look for Josh...all of them are super attentive but Josh knows how to pour a drink!!! I was invited to a bridal shower in their back private room - the server assigned to us was very bubbly and attentive. The food choices were Caesar salad, baked ziti, some type of (yummy) breaded and cheesy chicken and asparagus. I loved the chicken - the ziti was pretty good. Well, Ott's isn't the fanciest joint in town, but it certainly will hit the spot if you want a quick bite and a beer. I am sure that some people don't like it. It's true that the atmosphere is dark, the tables are a bit sticky and it's got a bit of that worn in vibe. But on the plus side, you can see that it's a local watering hole with pretty decent bar food if you are willing to go with the flow and accept bar food. My dad loves the pork roll and cheese sandwich, so if you love pork roll, Ott's is where it's at. The beer list is surprisingly good for a place like this - with your standard options plus a nice variety of fancier craft brews if that's your thing. On this last visit I had the hot beef and cheese sandwich, which was pretty tasty on a nice roll. And there is not much arguing you can do with a perfect crinkle cut french fry. Tried to go with my niece from California on a Friday night. She is of age and in the military and, she was here for the Army VS Navy Game. The bouncer who refereed to himself as "The Cat" at the door accused her of having a fake military and California ID. I was appalled at the securities behavior and they where extremely rude. I will not be giving them anymore of my business. I suggest that anyone that is in the military or has family in the service does the same. My husband and I live in Medford, and we have been to Ott's many, many times. Sadly, I recently had an incident with one of the bartenders, and I posted a review detailing the incident on Yelp. I have to say, the establishment's management and employees really outdid themselves in making the matter right. One of the owners personally called me, discussed the situation, apologized, and even sent flowers. He thoroughly reviewed the situation with the employees and called me again two days later to explain the outcome of his conversations. While the owner and I agreed that better communication would have kept the problem from occurring in the first place, I accepted his explanation of events and the owner's apology. About a week later, there was a knock at my front door. My husband was quite surprised to find the bartenders who were on duty the night of the incident at the front door! The bartender in question signed a very cute apology card. Along with that, the men brought gifts and a gift certificate for the bar. Seriously, who goes that far out of their way to apologize? Amazing. After this outreach, I felt compelled to take the details of the incident off of Yelp. I am sincerely impressed and touched by the way the bar owner and employees reached out to me after this incident. Many thanks to all of you. Otts is truly a five-star Yelp establishment! read more

Stopped by Ott's last night, took a seat at the bar and was quickly approached by the bartender to ask if I knew what I wanted or had any questions about the drink menu. Ordered a class of wine and opt for the fish tacos for dinner. Love tacos, and these did not disappoint!!! Right amount of spice for me!! While I was getting my leftovers packed, a manager named Joanie stopped by to see how everything was!
