Shrimp & Spinach Quesadilla
David H.

When visiting NJ, my brother reached out and asked if my wife and I liked Mexican food. He mentioned he found this "new" place we had to try. He made reservations for 6 of us. The venue is quite unique. It has an inside area with TV's surrounding the bar area. Then the bar area opens up to an outside area on the other side. For the warmer months, this is where you might want to be. They had quite a few craft beers on draught, specials, happy hour and a great overall menu. I had the shrimp and spinach quesadilla which I highly recommend. It was very savory, cheesy, and totally satisfying. I know this is my brother's favorite Mexican restaurant and is now mine as well.

Steak Chimichanga

The food and drinks here are absolutely delicious from start to finish. You start with complimentary chips and salsa. I loved the chips. They tasted home made and not greasy. The jalepeno queso dip was one of the best queso's I've tasted. The fundido appetizer is good too, but the jalepeno is over the top good and not as thick. The steak and shrimp chimichangas were perfectly seasoned and packed to the brim with tender, high quality steak. I've stopped ordering drinks at many places because I feel like they basically charge you $20 for juice but not this place. The drinks were excellent too! The margaritas were well made and didn't skimp on the alcohol. One drink had me feeling pleasantly tipsy, and I honestly would have ordered a second if I hadn't been driving home. The service was friendly and attentive, and the outdoor seating is a great bonus. Between the outstanding food, strong drinks, great service, and inviting atmosphere, I'll definitely be back soon with more people.

Came here for dinner and had a nice time. Despite not having a reservation for a Saturday, my group and I were sat pretty quickly. Service was very quick and very friendly. The quesadilla, which is an entrée we split for an appetizer, which was probably the best thing we had. Really tasty. Pastor tacos were good, but it seems that they were coded in pineapple juice and didn't have the actual pineapple on them which I wish they had. The place is pretty sizable with a nice outdoor section. Lots of space and open windows for a nice breeze in the summer. would absolutely come back

Al Pastor Tacos. #1 all time.

Grabbed lunch here this past week and it was the right pick at the right time. I'll keep this one short n sweet. Stuffed jalapeños were fantastic. Chorizo potatoes n cheese with this dipping sauce that should be served with all their dishes. Salsa verde and their traditional red salsa were on point. Al pastor tacos were the greatest tacos I've ever had in my life. All the flavor without tasting overly salty. Hands down the best. Excellent service from start to finish too. Def will be back.

While tonight was not my first visit to Tacos El Tio, it was my first time having the opportunity to dine IN. Previously I had ordered takeout at this location and the one near my office in EHT, but tonight my husband and I wanted to go out for Mexican and he has never been to Tacos El Tio so I suggested it. We made the 40 minute ride and it was so worth it. We got right in on a Saturday night at 6:45 PM. We started with a pineapple and passion fruit mojito. Fresh chips and salsa/salsa verde were brought over immediately too. The place was busy, with a lot of larger parties and the servers were hustling, but everything came out so quickly. We ordered the yucca fries with chipotle aioli because I had them before and needed my husband to experience them. He also insisted on getting the taquitos because he was so hungry. The yucca fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy and an amazing vehicle for the chipotle aioli. The taquitos came as an order of 3 served with lettuce, cheese, and crema on top. While they were good, the yucca fries were the star of the appetizers. For our entrees I ordered the quesabirria tacos and my husband did the steak quesadillas. I have had birria tacos at many places and I find that the key is the flavor of the consommé. This was flavorful and the perfect consistency. Some dripped down my dress and I didn't even care lol. My husbands quesadillas were huge and definitely cheese heavy. It was safe to say he was in heaven. His favorite Mexican spot closed down about five years ago and tonight was the first time since then that he told me how much he loved a new to him Mexican restaurant and declared it his new fave. We will definitely be back.

Steak Burrito

We went to Tacos el Tio the other night for dinner. We only had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table, which was pretty good since it was a busy Friday night. We went to the bar first to get drinks and I had a white sangria. It was a little too sweet for me, but not bad. They gave us complimentary chips and salsa to start. For entrees we had the chicken and steak burritos. They were both very flavorful and filling. We will definitely go back again to try other dishes. We enjoyed the ambiance and food!

Best Mexican food in NJ. It's very difficult to beat Tex-Mex outside of Texas, but they come very close.

It…read morewas only after the whole meal was over, and realizing that it was utterly awful that I felt directed to share my experience. My boyfriend and I sat in the bar area for a quick lunch on Friday. It was busy but not overly so. I got a drink that was decent. The service was also good but that's where the positives end. For a starter we tried the Hamachi Crudo. What came to the table was far from acceptable. Large hunks of tuna, some pieces with the white part of the skin still attached. It just looked botched. Bloodline and different sized pieces. You couldn't chew the white part so we had to cut it off. Then when we tried to eat it, it was full of pin bones. We picked out 4 pieces with bone. No real sauce on the plate. No flavor other than the chilis that were placed on top. One of the worst things I've ever been served. When our entrees came out first off, the French fries that we paid extra for were spare. My chicken avocado wrap tasted like nothing. It didn't have much chicken, I didn't notice any of the cheese or avocado ranch that was supposed to be on it. It was full of shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes. My BF said his turkey sandwich had no taste either and he wasn't sure it had what it said it should have on it. Very little turkey, undercooked, limp bacon and bread he said that was stale. Walking away we were just shocked. A bad course is one thing but every dish was just abysmal. You know it's bad when the people that were dining next to you grab you outside to see if your meal was as bad as theirs. I know, I should have shared by displeasure with staff but I'm so uncomfortable doing that. I don't need places to be perfect, I understand businesses have off days but this was a train off it's tracks kinda meal. I really hope Braddocks turns this around. But we will not be back.

We dined on their beautiful patio, amongst flowers, and a very pretty water view and breezes :) The food was stellar! The menu still had what I loved prior - chicken stuffed avocados! They tweaked it a bit - no longer three big halves; but two, plus grapes (ick - not my thing - like eyeballs lol!) and pita bread (no carbs for me at night - I didn't eat). I also had probably THE BEST CAESAR SALAD I've EVER HAD! And wow, have I had a lot of them. They are a standby / go to - you name it - for me. I love them and can tell you where to find the best ones in a heart beat (Sienna's in Voorhees, Fieni's in Voorhees, SALAD HOUSE in Marlton, all Outback's and Carrabba's, and HERE) ! My friend's friend told her that Redstone's corn bread croutons were delicious and a must try. Sooo, we subbed the sourdough garlic croutons with the cornbread ones - no problem at all. HOLY SH****************T were they amazing! What a neat and yummy idea! In the future, I'm going to have the full size versus the starter size that I had last night. Our server, Flower, was a doll - very chill, attentive, and charming. I notice everything, including one of her tattoos (a tiny astrological bull). She was a Taurus too like my birthday friend, which was kind of neat. Cool name too. Redstone is top notch through and through. Even the bathrooms were great - very clean and smelled so damned good. Why in Hades hadn't I been here in 7 years is beyond me!

We managed to snag a last-minute 4:30 reservation online, walked right in and were seated immediately. We were hardly alone, as the bar and seemingly all interior tables were filled! Despite that, the sound level was quite acceptable. My wife ordered salmon as she usually does; I went for the Spicy Thai Noodle entree. Surprisingly it was 15 minutes before we got our dishes! My wife was delighted with her perfectly-presented and cooked salmon, however my Thai Noodle entree was far saltier than it was spicy, so I sent it back. Our server offered any number of alternatives but given how slow the kitchen seemed, we decided to order dessert instead and our server suggested the Chocolate-chip Skillet Cookie. Freshly baked and served in a cast-iron pan, this gargantuan cookie took a few minutes to arrive but was clearly worth the wait; It's so good that it's simply genius; far better than anything I'd ever expect from a chain restaurant. The cookie isn't overly sweet and has a fabulous texture and a wonderful, caramelized taste that blends perfectly with the generous topping of ice cream. It's truly a stunner that deserves to be one of their signature desserts. The level of professionalism on display at all levels is impressive and the manager even came over to make sure everything was OK since I'd sent back a dish. We let her know that the cookie more than made up for any problem! While I wasn't initially happy with my entree, it's very clear that the staff there will do everything they can to ensure every customer has a delightful experience.

As we approached the hostess station, we were not greeted warmly or even with a smile. When I asked for a table for two, the hostess immediately told us there would be a 20-minute wait, even though the restaurant did not appear to be very crowded at the time. We also had a reservation, which she never asked about. Once we mentioned that we had a reservation, her demeanor seemed somewhat annoyed. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but the hostess is often the first person a customer encounters and plays an important role in representing the establishment. A warm greeting and welcoming attitude would have made a much better first impression, especially since this was my first time visiting. I honestly considered leaving a negative review based solely on the initial interaction. However, our server, Julia K.(5 stars), completely changed the experience. She was friendly, attentive, professional, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our visit. The food was also great. Overall, I hope management takes the initial customer service experience into consideration because the food and service from Julia were definitely worth recognizing. With a more welcoming first impression at the hostess stand, this could have been an excellent first-time experience.

Note to parents - this is a great place to bring a fussy child, as no one will look twice if he/she is cooing, crying, yelling, or all of the above. It was so loud once the live entertainment started. We needed to scream to hear each other. And we were sitting in the far back corner, furthest away from the entertainment. Either the acoustics are crap or the volume was just too loud. My dining companions liked the wings and enjoyed having the option to select their heat level. My Chicken Taco Salad was good but nothing to write home about. I was happy the chicken wasn't fried, like 99% of everything else on the menu. My friend enjoyed her Ceasar Salad with Salmon. TV's out the wazoo, so this is probably a good place to watch games. We left around 8:00 PM and the bar area was packed (middle-aged crowd). Ample sized parking lot. Three stars is about right!
