okay quick run down! great place!! they have indoor and outdoor seating. we brought two dogs and they happily gave us seating on the patio and offered to give our dogs water. staff was very friendly and helpful. Free Chips & Salsa: comes as a free starter. the green sauce is my favorite. the chips do have some beans on them. Tortilla Soup: very good. me and my sister split this. for the price and size, i'd say very worth it. Appetizer Sampler: included corn, empanadas, queso, nachos, pico and guac. everything on this platter was great! if you have a party willing to share, I think this is very worth it for the amount, variety, and price. The restaurant is located in a very small strip of stores - next to a market and bakery. Upon entering, there is a small host station, and one large room. The night we dined the restaurant was pretty busy, but there were no servers or hosts in sight. After a very brief wait, a server and host/server came out of the kitchen and sat us immediately. We started with horchata to drink, which arrived in mason jars with a dusting of cinnamon. The menu is very seafood heavy, so if you're not into fish or seafood, your options are limited. With that being said, the menu leans authentic Mexican. Every table receives fresh homemade nachos with a black bean topping and two salsas- one mild and one spicy. We decided to do the appetizer sampler so we could try a little of a variety of things. It came with an empanada, elote, nachos, guacamole, and queso fundido. The presentation was awesome, as it arrived on a wooden board. The empanada was cut into 4 pieces and was filled with chicken tinga and cheese. I absolutely loved it, while my friend hated it, which was crazy to me. It was so flavorful and had almost a carnitas flavor to it. The guac was fresh, the nachos were crispy and packed with toppings, elote was flavorful and fresh, and queso fundido was super filling. We almost filled up on the apps, but our birria tacos came out and they were fantastic. Our server poured the hot consommé over onions in a little bowl and the flavor was rich and paired with the birria so well. The corn tortillas were crispy and even though we could only eat one of the three, we took the rest home. We also split a side of Mexican rice and beans, which were average and pretty much what you'd expect. We aren't sure if there is dessert, as there was none on the menu, but we were too full even if we were offered options. Our server was attentive even though it was very busy. All in all, I would give it a 4 and my dining companion would give it a 3 so 3.5 would be perfect. However I went up to a 4 because I enjoyed what I ordered and think it deserves that half of a star. read more

We visited Cielto Lindo yesterday on Mother's Day and, despite going last minute without a reservation, had a wonderful experience. We were seated in the lovely outdoor area, which had such a great atmosphere with Mexican music playing in the background. We started with the empanadas, and they were absolutely delicious. For our main dishes, we had the shrimp fajitas and steak tacos--both were flavorful, perfectly cooked, and truly hit the spot. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server, Joely, was awesome--friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcomed, especially on such a busy holiday. Great food, great service, and a beautiful setting. Guys! This is so bad. My mom and I were passing through the area and stopped here on a whim. It's on a main highway. The piña guac was $16 and a scoop of brown puréed avocado was served to us with a few diced canned pineapples and a sprinkle of cheese. No cilantro, no fresh mashed thick avocado. Super bland. Neither of us liked it. We then had tamales with different meat in each. Masa is super bland plain cornmeal, no seasoning and the chicken just boiled and bland. We are Cuban, we LOVE corn tamales. This was sooo disappointing. We spent over $100 for 2 people. Black beans had a weird aftertaste, the ones on the tortilla chips and the side dish. My mom said they might be cooking with liquid smoke. There were 2 flies that wouldn't leave our table and it was sticky when we sat down. This is the second time in about a month I've been here. Both times the food was very good and the portions were reasonably sized. Parking plentiful. The first time all went great. The second time not so much. Food took far too long to arrive and when it did, it was spread out over ten minutes from first person served to the last person served. So I would say five stars the first time I was there, three stars a second so I gave it four in this review. Also, unfortunately, the urinal in the men didn't flush with a predictably gross result. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We found out about this place from the south Jersey foodies Facebook group. I was intrigued by their crab guacamole appetizer. It was SO creamy and delicious! My family also got the combo lava bowl, Mahi Mahi fish tacos, and the spicy shrimp & mussels in red sauce! The horchata was also yummy. Ragulo was our server and extremely knowledgeable. They brought out some chips with beans & salsa for free to start us off. They have a nice outside seating area where we sat for dinner. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back! BEYOND HAPPY that we discovered this spot! Food is super authentic, flavorful and presented so beautifully!!! I've been searching for a really great Mexican restaurant and when I found this place on Yelp I just knew I had to come here. During our first visit we had to wait a while for the food to come out - assuming they were understaffed - but food was freshly prepared and our waitress was very friendly. There is a large menu and they also offer platters to share. Food is priced pretty high but they offer large sized portions. Major plus is that it's BYOB and they also offer outdoor patio seating. Came back a week after our first visit bc I couldn't stop thinking about how good the food was. My boyfriend and I see the waving "Birria tacos!" flag everyday, so we decided to give it a try. He really liked them, I was indifferent. To be fair, I am not a big meat or taco fan. They had good flavor and I'm glad I finally got to try them. I'm sure they aren't as authentic as a food truck or place in the city, but still cool to have one nearby. The very unassuming outside doesn't capture the greatness inside! It's a quaint little byob. The ceiling is very colorfully decorated with banners. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable. Not a lot of people in there, not a good sign but it was lunch on a Wednesday. I was quickly seated, brought a jug of water and the typical chips and salsa were delivered except to my surprise it wasn't typical. The chips had a nice homemade bean sauce and some cotija cheese sprinkled on top. Two types of salsa an orange spicier one and a green mild one both homemade and delicious. We were off to a good start. I ordered the nachos again very impressive, a meat sauce with immense deep flavor and again I was surprised, there were some pickled veggies on it. The veggies were not just an interesting addition but were very tasty. I ordered the lunch carnitas burrito wet with green sauce. It took a little while to come out but I could tell this place wasn't for fast food. The burrito arrived in all its glory. It was huge!! After cutting into it I realized this was a masterpiece. It was packed with meat, and there was some kind of homemade cheese spread on the tortilla. It had some rice but not too much. The green sauce that covered it was one of the best I've ever had and it was drizzled with a sour cream sauce. I can safely say that this is the best Mexican food in at least 100 mile radius. We could hear and smell the fajitas from the tables around us. I started with an ice cold horchata of course. Horchata usually taste the same to me everywhere and this one was very tasty as well. We started with the complimentary chips and beans, the Caesar salad, and their guacamole which had a little kick to it, so if that's not your jam ask for no jalapeños. Everything was excellent and well portioned. For our entrees I got the bites tacos which would really good and loaded. My wife got the fajitas and rice im and beans which both were divine. The location has plenty of lot parking, easy to find and the restaurant is colorful with a warm feeling. We started with empanadas and chips with dip. I decided to give Cielito Lindo another try as I was craving Mexican food but wasn't feeling a long drive and I'm glad I did. We asked to be seated outside because it was a nice night. Just about every table was occupied and the setting was pretty. It did rain lightly for a brief period of time but overhead is covered so we did not get wet. Everybody's food smelled delicious. You're given tortilla chips topped with beans and served with two sides of salsa. The red salsa was spicy and was so good I saved it to use on my entree when it came out. We also ordered vegetarian nachos, chicken enchiladas, and chicken fajitas. The fajitas came out sizzling on a skillet exactly how they should. The chicken was grilled to perfection and the vegetables included were zucchini, onions, and peppers. It also came with soup or salad (I chose spicy corn soup which I loved) and a side of rice and beans. The nachos we decided to skip the chorizo (which I would've loved to try) and was topped with an assortment of vegetables including carrots, peppers, onions. The next time I come here (and I will be back) I'll make sure I bring a bottle of tequila and buy a pitcher of their margarita mix. Cielito Lindo pleasantly surprised me. The only two things stopping the rating from being 5 stars is the price (while not outrageous, it's pricier than my go to authentic Mexican restaurants) and I was only given 3 small tortillas for the fajitas (lots of chicken and vegetables but had to eat about half of it with a fork). All in all I'm very happy with my dinner, service, and experience and will be back soon. read more
