    Guacamole with crab

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We found out about this place from the south Jersey foodies Facebook group. I was intrigued by their crab guacamole appetizer. It was SO creamy and delicious! My family also got the combo lava bowl, Mahi Mahi fish tacos, and the spicy shrimp & mussels in red sauce! The horchata was also yummy. Ragulo was our server and extremely knowledgeable. They brought out some chips with beans & salsa for free to start us off. They have a nice outside seating area where we sat for dinner. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back! They also have gluten free (GF) marked on their menu and were very knowledgeable. All of our food was GF! Tons of options.

Had dinner here for the second time. Good service with a nicely colorful decorations. The fajitas were very good. Lots of chicken and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The street corn was by far the best part of the meal.

Wonderful Mexican restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is on point and they ensure you are not forgotten. The outside seating is great as is the indoor seating. The queso fundido is amazing. So cheesey and delicious. The lava bowls and fajitas are great as well. BYOB

BEYOND HAPPY that we discovered this spot! Food is super authentic, flavorful and presented so beautifully!!! I've been searching for a really great Mexican restaurant and when I found this place on Yelp I just knew I had to come here. During our first visit we had to wait a while for the food to come out - assuming they were understaffed - but food was freshly prepared and our waitress was very friendly. There is a large menu and they also offer platters to share. Food is priced pretty high but they offer large sized portions. Major plus is that it's BYOB and they also offer outdoor patio seating. Came back a week after our first visit bc I couldn't stop thinking about how good the food was. If you're looking for a Mexican restaurant that has authentic flavor and a great place for large groups then you have to check out this place. You will not be disappointed!

    Wet Burrito with green sauce

I had just about given up trying to find an authentic Mexican food joint with amazing flavors in South Jersey. I tried many places that are authentic but they just didn't have the deep flavors I so enjoy from good Mexican food. Then I heard a rumor about Cielito Lindo, I was skeptical. I walked in for lunch. Not a lot of people in there, not a good sign but it was lunch on a Wednesday. I was quickly seated, brought a jug of water and the typical chips and salsa were delivered except to my surprise it wasn't typical. The chips had a nice homemade bean sauce and some cotija cheese sprinkled on top. Two types of salsa an orange spicier one and a green mild one both homemade and delicious. We were off to a good start. I ordered the nachos again very impressive, a meat sauce with immense deep flavor and again I was surprised, there were some pickled veggies on it. The veggies were not just an interesting addition but were very tasty. I ordered the lunch carnitas burrito wet with green sauce. It took a little while to come out but I could tell this place wasn't for fast food. The burrito arrived in all its glory. It was huge!! After cutting into it I realized this was a masterpiece. It was packed with meat, and there was some kind of homemade cheese spread on the tortilla. It had some rice but not too much. The green sauce that covered it was one of the best I've ever had and it was drizzled with a sour cream sauce. I can safely say that this is the best Mexican food in at least 100 mile radius. You will not be disappointed if you appreciate authentic Mexican fare.

I was introduced to this place verbally and have been dying to check it out. It was in Medford so I was skeptical because when I want Mexican food I want to be full and the food to be authentic. The service was great, nice kid who didn't have a pen or pad just a really good waiter. The place was dimly lit and that's my favorite environment to eat in. We could hear and smell the fajitas from the tables around us. I started with an ice cold horchata of course. Horchata usually taste the same to me everywhere and this one was very tasty as well. We started with the complimentary chips and beans, the Caesar salad, and their guacamole which had a little kick to it, so if that's not your jam ask for no jalapeños. Everything was excellent and well portioned. For our entrees I got the bites tacos which would really good and loaded. My wife got the fajitas and rice im and beans which both were divine. The portions are my only complaint, but other than that this place was fresh, quiet, and authentic. We will be back.

My boyfriend and I see the waving "Birria tacos!" flag everyday, so we decided to give it a try. He really liked them, I was indifferent. To be fair, I am not a big meat or taco fan. They had good flavor and I'm glad I finally got to try them. I'm sure they aren't as authentic as a food truck or place in the city, but still cool to have one nearby. Not sure if that is what the corn is called but this was delicious! Much better than other corn I have tried from local Mexican places. Overall, I'd go back again- but probably find a new entree.

    Shrimp Potosinas.
    Timothy J.

The plantains were tough and dry. The rice was undercooked and under seasoned. The chile rellenos immediately lost their crispness because they were drenched with sauce, and they still had seeds, so some bites were bitter and too spicy. Shrimps in the Enchiladas Potosinas were tough and fishy tasting and honestly, assembled weird! What's up with the whole catering dish? The fish tacos were unpleasantly fishy. Tortilla soup was meh. The quesadilla of the day was actually good. To top it all off, we didn't get "complimentary" chips because we were a takeout order. We don't get free subpar chips even though our total was over 90 dollars? Two stars!

Set in the center of a quiet shopping center, I HAD to post this review because I need people to know this exists. While I was expecting typical guacamole, tacos, chimichangas, and burritos, this was NOT that. The menu gives off an upscale Mexican vibe that is completely unexpected. The dining area is much larger than we realized upon entering the restaurant. We were given homemade chips with salsa and salsa verde. We started with the queso with chorizo. It arrived in a little skillet with soft tortillas for dipping. The dip was basically all cheese and chorizo. It needed to be lifted or pinched into the tortilla and was not dippable. I wasn't a huge fan of this, but this was the only thing I didn't love. I then did the roasted beets with cream cheese, avocado, pistachio, jalapeños, and fig reduction. This was out of this world with fresh ingredients and an amazing blend of flavors. For my entree I did the Pollo Poblano which was thinly sliced chicken breasts with roasted poblano peppers, cheese, crab, and a tequila cream sauce. It didn't come with any sides so I did the rice and beans. The rice was creamy and had bits of corn and herbs. It was almost like a risotto. The refried beans were black beans rather than your typical pinto beans. My bff had the veal enchiladas and said they were okay, but I didn't try them to give a full synopsis. We were too full to do dessert, but I had this chicken 4 days ago and I am still fantasizing about it. I need to go back. Definitely check this place out!

The outside reminded me of something I'd see in LA. The restaurant very much has retro diner vibes. The inside is very colorful, and there is a beaded entrance that leads to the bathroom. The menu, itself, was a bit limited. We got there around brunch but it was a bit later in the day, so I wasn't necessarily in the mood for breakfast items. I opted to get the General Tso wings with the sauce on the side and the chorizo and shrimp egg roll while my friend opted for the squid salad with wings, too. We both ordered a cocktail. I had the pomegranate spiked lemonade with tequila and my friend had the spiced agua Fresca with whiskey. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side, while hers was more of a smooth drink. The food came out pretty quickly. They first brought out the salad which was massive! We shared that for a bit. It was pretty good, although it seemed to be scant on dressing. Then the wings came out. They seemed to be air fried, not too greasy, and very crisp. The sauce was savory and tangy. Lastly, were the egg rolls. They were unlike any egg rolls I've seen before, but were not short on taste. The shrimp and sausage were plentiful and it was tasty. To be honest, half of it filled me up. Overall, I see this more as an appetizer type of place. Not a place I'd go for a more filling entree. The vibe is nice, and definitely a cool place to visit. My friend mentioned they do a lot of community events which I love.

For our meals we sampled the carne asada vampiros, carnita tacos, pumpkin tacos, and the Tijuana Street dog.   Everything we tried was very flavorful.  We wrapped up our evening with the churros...delicious!  I will definitely return in nicer weather to sit outside on their amazing patio. This is definitely a good food option while visiting Philly.

A fun time at Egg Harbor's second-best Mexican restaurant…read more If you look at Yelp, you'll see there's another Mexican restaurant that has a slightly better rating than Tacos El Tio. HOWEVER, that other place is BYOB, and if you want to have an alcoholic beverage, for example, a margarita, you'll need to bring your own tequila. Tacos El Tio is a full-service Mexican restaurant that offers well-crafted beverages alongside delicious food. Now, to the specifics... TET has lots of parking. The inside is large, clean, and offers plenty of comfortable seating. You might prefer a table or booth that's on the far side of the dining room, well away from the bar area with its speakers and any loud conversations. Our server, Julie, was attentive, efficient, and delightful. They offer a range of margaritas, from specialty concoctions to their margaritas-on-tap. The on-tap version is about half the cost of the concocted version and, in my opinion, a far better value. As for food, all we tried, all we had to try, was their Los Nachos El Tio. That was a plate, heaped high with corn tortillas, layered with nacho stuff, along with generous portions of beef, chicken, and chorizo. And, unlike the nachos offered by some places, the good stuff wasn't merely a topping; it was interspersed with chips from top to bottom. And it was enough that even though we started off hungry, and even though it was delicious, my wife and I couldn't finish it. The only thing we'll do at our next visit is leave out the chorizo; it was our least favorite of the three proteins. TLDR: Sit somewhere far from the bar, get the least expensive margaritas, order the nachos (maybe without the chorizo), and leave your tequila at home.
