Ever since I gave up Taco Bell, I've been dealing with an ongoing craving for crispy shell ground beef tacos. And while the tacos at Salsa Fresca are nowhere near the same as Taco Bell's, they are a great substitute and come topped with lots of cheese. I also purchased a cheese quesadilla, which was pretty good, but I would've been fine with just my tacos. I also heard great things about the chicken quesadilla entree. read more

If you are looking for truly authentic Mexican food, Salsa Fresca is the place. The service was excellent from start to finish, but the food was the real star. I ordered the fajitas with corn tortillas, and they were fantastic--you can really taste the quality and authenticity in the ingredients. It is hard to find a spot that gets those traditional flavors just right, but they nailed it. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back! read more

Scam alert - be cautious. Don't trust any of their online pricing. Make sure you ask for prices before placing a phone order. I placed a pickup order and was shocked to find that the in-store prices were 47% higher than both their own online menu and standard pricing. Example: items listed online at $8.49, $7.99, and $8.49 (plus a $0.50 takeout fee) totaled $25.47 pretax. My receipt in-store showed $12.99, $11.99, and $12.47 for the same items -- a total of $37.47. On top of that, they tack on a 3% credit card fee, which is annoying but manageable. What wasn't acceptable: when I paid cash, the clerk didn't give back the proper change, saying, "Sorry, I literally have no change." The food itself wasn't worth the inflated prices, and the overall experience left me feeling misled. Bottom line: prices don't match their posted menu, you may not get your change back, and the service was dismissive. Definitely ask about pricing first or avoid altogether. https://salsafrescanj.com/index-2.html read more

My Jam. Get the chicken Fajitas. People really friendly and kind. Food is seasoned well

Good quality food with fresh ingredients. The Mexican restaurant decor adds to the experience but really, the food speaks for itself. The servers and friendly and attentive. BYOB makes for a delicious and affordable meal at a nice local spot. It's a regular spot for us. read more

Been here several times. Service was excellent. They have really good guacamole. That is a must-try! I always love their chips and salsa, as well as the queso dip. My daughter ordered the chicken fingers and fries and she loved it. I ordered Quesadilla Rellena. The Arroz con Pollo, which was what my mom ordered was absolutely delicious. Next time, I'm gonna order that for myself! Lol For dessert, we had churros. It was light, delicate, and just the right amount of sweetness to end our meal. Next time, I'll probably order extra chocolate to dip the churros in. Salsa Fresca is our reliable go-to Mexican restaurant. read more

I paid $36 dollars for rice guac a side of onions and a soda. The waiter was so rude and treated us like we were not welcome! No where on the menu said we were going to be charged extra for a bigger party and they added a tip read more

The food was good, but lacking flavor for Mexican cuisine. The cheese enchilada and bean burrito essentially tasted the same, chalupa was good and had lots of avocado on top, but I wish the tomato was diced. Food came quickly, but I wish it was hotter in temperature. Menu has lots of vegetarian options which was a bonus. Does not sell alcohol but offers virgin margaritas which are delicious. read more

This restaurant is in a cute shopping center. We hosted my friend's bridal shower here since she loves Mexican food. The employees told us that we would be able to arrive at 10:45 AM to start setting up early for the shower (which started at 11:30 AM). However, no one arrived early for us to come in. The groom's grandmother was knocking on the door until 11:00 AM. We felt a little rushed trying to get everything together in the next 30 minutes, especially since people started arriving almost right away, but we made it work! The employees were very friendly and nice! They kept forgetting to come to the bride/bridesmaid table to provide us with drinks and appetizers, but we caught their attention. The food was delicious! I ordered the Hawaiian Fajitas, but I think I was accidentally served the regular fajitas. The decorations/colors of the walls were also really cute! read more

It was good went out as a family for some Mexican cuisine. Our server didn't speak Spanish but some others workers did. My grandparents love to try new Hispanic places to see if they are actually authentic and to say hi. Food was good. read more

We love the food here. Everything is fresh and the wait staff is always accommodating. The desserts are yum!

Very good local BYOB. Food was good, guacamole for the chips was ok (needed more seasoning). Serving size of food was plentiful. There's a liquor store next door, so we picked up Coronas to have with dinner. Lots of food options on the menu. There's even margarita mix for drinks so you can add your tequila. Service was good & fast, even on this busy Friday before Cinco de Mayo. It was pretty loud in there & made it a little hard to hear conversation, but it also made for a fun atmosphere. Would definitely recommend & would definitely go back. read more

Salsa Fresca - Texas Fajitas - Mexican Near Me - Sewell, New Jersey

I've never had bland mexican food until I came here.. bad service and terrible food. You think burrito you think rice, beans, lettuce, guac, sour cream maybe some pico plus whatever protein. Well I ordered the burrito grande and was just carnitas. This was a flour tortilla with just carnitas inside and not even good carnitas. No flavor, bland, just terrible.. Her Hawaiian fajitas were no bueno. Again, bland dry chicken and dry corn tortillas that she needed to wash down with ice tea that I had to find a server to refresh. I saw one review mention Don Pablo's so if that's what you're going for then you're setting the bar pretty low and this place is for you. Overall I don't recommend this place. read more

Quite possibly the worst "Mexican food" I have ever had. The best part of the meal was the jalapeño poppers akin to something I could have picked up in the jack in the box drive-thru. Got the shrimp cocktail, Chile relleno and enchiladas. All of them were barely edible. Saw all the excellent reviews and expected much better. read more

Ok my peeps. This is truly the newest best place in TWP. 1. We have never had a Mexican restaurant in TWP let alone authentic. You absolutely have to try the carnitas enchiladas. Exceptional!!! If you are here for the first time.... try the sampler. It gives you the first little taste of how good everything was. Try the grilled jalapeños. Perfection!!! read more

Try the scallop and shrimp fajitas ask them to add shredded cheese and thank me later.

Went to dinner here last night, been meaning to try this place for awhile, and it was perfect! After Don Pablos in Deptford closed, there hasn't been a good Mexican restaurant in the area for awhile. The decor is so cute, and the food feels authentic. There was a very short wait time after placing the order and our waitress , Stephanie, kept checking in on us. Looking forward to going back with my family more often. read more

Second time going with my family and it was better than the last (good before as well). Seated quickly, restaurant was clean. Server was a bit slow to take our order but understandably so since a bunch of parties had come in just before us. The food was amazing. I ordered a San Jose burrito which was a chicken burrito with chorizo and cheese sauce. My wife ordered "Hawaiian" fajitas and we expected it to be just fajitas with canned pineapple chunks, but we were surprised when they brought it out to us. It was a half pineapple that contained all of the meats and veggies, grilled inside the pineapple. It was amazing Good service and food just wish I could've had a margarita or a shot of tequila. Definitely will return read more

We loved our waitress Rachel. The bathroom was a little bit dumpy. The salsa could be a little bit thicker. The ceviche was delicious but I would recommend putting more cilantro in it. The churros with the ice cream was absolutely delicious. Will definitely go back and try more dishes. read more

Best Mexican restaurant in the area. Very fresh an tasty. Fajita nachos and shrimp taco salad were excellent!

So glad to have a Mexican place in town. The food was fresh and delicious. Combo chicken and steak fajitas, garlic shrimp and chicken burrito were all prepared perfectly. BYOB makes it even better. The cheese dip appetizer was bland and we wouldn't get it again Only suggestion is to fix the music. It was in and out during our whole meal. The music adds to the ambiance. We will be back. Still love this place!! Awesome dinner tonight! So glad to have such an awesome Mexican restaurant in town. read more

This restaurant offers great mexican food(more so on the Tex-Mex side). It's my favorite currently because the price is reasonable with the huge portion you obtain. The flavor is great and they give you fresh warm homemade Tortilla chips and salsa that is incredible. While ordering is great, dining in would def be best suited. Speaking of ordering, I think they may have been understaffed recently when I went. I probably waited a good 7 minutes inside the building for someone to ring me up. I understand this may be a nuisance with some people. When corona lets up and you can enter, it is a BYOB and there is a liquor store right next to the building so I find it to be a great combo. read more

Waited over an hour and still haven't got are food yet. Waitress has only came a couple times to drop of chips and are drinks

We just moved to the area and we were recommended to try Salsa Fresca for a great Mexican BYOT. We were more than satisfied. The chips and salsa were delicious. We ordered a side of cheese dip and were even more pleased. We brought our own tequila and ordered the margarita mix. I would highly suggest trying the mango! Yummy!! read more

This is a friendly place with good and authentic and fresh Mexican food. We had the chicken fajitas which come with vegetables including peppers, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes. We asked for extra tortillas and they gave it to us. Corn or flour take your pick. We also ordered the beef chimichanga which was delicious and we topped it off with an authentic Flan. Prices were right and service was great! read more

Awful. I wish I had more thumbs so I could give 'em 4 thumbs down. I ordered takeout. In addition to being double the wait time I was told on the phone, one of the several employees it took to process my transaction announced "we shouldn't even be doing takeout on the weekends." Yeah that's exactly what I want to hear, lady. Got a taco salad that was advertised to have tomatoes..literally one slice of a tomato was thrown on top. Total slop meal. I feel bad being so candid but I would be fkin shocked if this place sees 1 year of existence in that shopping center. read more

Nice neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Good food, good service, large menu, good portions, decent prices (some dinners very budget friendly)... And BYOB. If you tried this place a couple of years ago and weren't happy, you might want to try again. Although I've always been satisfied, I do feel that they've improved over the years... And they're usually pretty busy now, so seemingly others agree. read more

I hate to say it because I would love for them to succeed: it was the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The "Salsa Fresca Nachos" with chicken were just chips with shredded chicken and melted cheese. No peppers, no onions, no herbs or flavoring. Nothing else The chicken quesadilla was soggy and tasteless. The guacamole was clearly from a can. The chorizo tacos were so salty that I could barely finish them, and the corn tortillas had absolutely no taste. They are clearly using the cheapest ingredients they can find. Stay away! read more

This is not good Mexican food. The tortilla bowl was really disappointing. As well were the tacos.

Went here a few weeks ago. The place is nice and the staff is friendly. The food however was ok. I had the chicken fajitas and sadly it was tasteless. There was no spices whatsoever on it. The guacamole was just ok too. We may try again in a month or so when they've been open longer. 2/28/18 - We were really looking forward to trying them again tonight. Their food was much better in January with theIr new cook. Unfortunately their service is seriously lacking. They served two tables that were seated after we were seated. The servers were 'discussing' who had what table in the kitchen. Needless to say, after they served the second table seated after us, we left. read more
