Food took forever to come. And when it did, on order was missing. No apology from the server. The rest of the table sat waiting so everyone can enjoy the meal together but it took 15 minutes to get the last order on the table. SERVICE CHARGE 18% for a table of four was already added to the bill and the server expected a tip on top of that 18% service charge. What??? My son wanted tacos for dinner and I decided to go to a place that I heard good things about, so here we are. They started us with chips and salsa's. Chips were fine. Nothing special. My son got chicken birria tacos. They were amazing. The broth that came with the tacos was so flavorful. I got the carnitas tacos with rice and beans. It was all amazing. Been trying to get to this place for a while now. If you need proof that the Yelp marketing machine works, El Gaujillo popped up while I was on the app, and I decided to order out! First off, this place has an insane menu. It's actually a little suspicious how large the menu is, only to get even crazier when you find out they have an ITALIAN side as well that does pizza, burgers and the like....curiouser and curiouser. Despite that, we decided to give them a go. I went with the chicken enchiladas, while the Misses got the chicken taco platter. I went with mole sauce for the enchiladas, and they were good. The rice and beans were fantastic, and the only thing that I didn't like about the enchiladas were the corn tortillas. (I know, I KNOW....."authentic." But I'm a gringo that prefers my flour tortillas!) The Misses was less enthusiastic about the tacos, because they were DRY. I believe you CAN add sour cream, etc for an additional charge, but just baseline, all you get is some hot sauce and some salsa verde, neither of which she wanted to put on her tacos. We wound up sprucing them up at home with shredded cheese and sour cream. The TASTE of the tacos was fine. We opted for take out. The building itself is a kaleidoscope of colors! Vibrant, bright reds and greens covering the entire outside and inside. Murals on the walls, the whole 9. But, that's the dining side. The pickup side is like a pizzeria vibe, with a few, not that clean, bench seating tables and a pickup counter. You can see straight into the kitchen, so at least they aren't hiding anything. We picked up and rolled out with zero fuss. Online order went through Slice, but El Gaujillo doesn't participate in Slice rewards so theres a knock right there. I would certainly come back. We ordered out for dinner. Everything was packaged nicely and correct. The food was made quickly. I had the steak quesadilla and it was delicious. It was a good size and flavorful. My husband enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the chichi w/ guacamole. Overall a great experience and nice restaurant. read more

So disappointed. We order food a lot from this place. The pork taco was fine but not any better than El Mariachi in Voorhees. We go here cause it's much closer. I picked up a milkshake and tried their tiramisu which I pointed on the dessert stand. Got home to find out I got half the size so I called and the older lady who barely speak English rudely dismissed my concern. I drove back there to show what they gave me vs. what I asked for and they said it's the same price but the one on counter was newer one. So not only did they give me an older tiramisu but charged me $6 for half the size. Never going back. I'll drive to El Mariachi where I never had issue and have better customer service. read more

I've eaten here a few times, it's just ok. The wait staff and people taking your order do not speak great English, if at all, which is frustrating. We ordered the chicken burrito which had a weird combination of items in it, not my favorite choice. Also ordered the vegetarian fajitas previously and they too had a strange choice for the vegetables, and hardly any cheese. The prices are VERY expensive for the amount of food, one burrito and 3 tacos for $33, outrageous. read more

This place was awesome! I was in the mood for chicharron and guac so I brought my family here. First time here and it did not disappoint. We got the nachos, chicharron, burrito, enchilada with Mole sauce, tamales, and a taco salad. We got all that to try everything and not a bad bite in the bunch! The wait staff was friendly and prompt. The food came out amazingly quick. Love the decor it was bright and festive with wonderful neon art.
