So the only other time I've been here was one year many years ago on Cinco de Mayo and it was packed. So packed that I didn't enjoy myself or get a chance to try any food. Decided to come to the closet spot for some drinks. Walked in and we were immediately seated towards the back area. The decor looked very nice and authentic to the culture. Our server was pleasant and very much aware of all items on the menu and attentive to her tables. For drinks, we ordered Margherita's, a Long Island, and shots (Green Tea shot and something like an espresso martini shot) both were very good, my preference is the green tea shot. We came for some drinks during happy hour, but after viewing the menu we knew we had to try things. Everything had flavor and tasted so good. I had the Nicaraguan meal with white rice and maduros. I like to give places a chance, even if they don't have the greatest ratings. This time, I should have listened to the reviews, particularly those concerning food safety. My companion and I came for Thursday happy hour and got 2 mango margaritas and quesadillas- one shrimp, one chicken, and it was a decent meal and drinks, good service. But by the morning, both of us were either sick or having stomach issues. I don't like to give bad reviews, but the fact we BOTH got sick encouraged me to leave a warning. Be mindful when choosing to dine here. I was hopeful about this place considering its proximity to us, but I unfortunately will not be coming again. We visited here for dinner on Friday night around 8pm. We waited a few minutes at the hostess counter before someone acknowledged us, a few minutes later we were seated. We sat for about 5-8 minutes before I was able to make eye contact with someone to get assistance at our table. He took our drink order, I ordered the margarita flight and he ordered a frozen margarita, my drinks were good his frozen margarita was far from frozen but we didn't send it back. We ordered wings as an appetizer, they were good. He ordered the shrimp tacos and I ordered the fish platter with plantains, the food portions were good and all tasted good. Know going in that this is not fine dining. I thought the playlist was really good. Things didn't feel very cleansed but I didn't really expect it to either. The chips and salsa are good. We pretty much devoured those. The drinks are decent. I recommend the passion fruit margarita. It was very tasty. They have a good happy hour special. Do not get the enchiladas. Not good. However, the steak, rice and beans were very flavorful. Would definitely just stick to ordering that if I go back. I had time to kill, and had always wanted to try this place out. So I stopped in for happy hour one afternoon. It's a somewhat dark place inside. I didn't realize until I sat down at the bar that there was a separate entrance where there was a restaurant also. I ordered a drink, an empanada, and some guacamole & chips. Well, after driving by Don Tequila about 5,000 times on the way to Rte. 42, I finally decided to order some food for 2 through ezCater. I ordered 3 dishes: Seafood Paella, Don Burrito with Steak and a Fish Sandwich with Fries, plus Coconut and Champagne Cola drinks. The paella actually was impressive and very tasty - A baby lobster tail, shrimp, mussels, clams, and scallops all nicely cooked and well seasoned over rice. A decent amount of food for $24.00. I'd order it again! My GF liked the Don Burrito with steak. It was a nice sized burrito, which she said was bigger and more flavorful than what you might get at Chipolte. She only ate 1/2 of it and put the rest away for the next day, so I guess it was filling..lol The only thing that was bit of a disappointment was the Fish Sandwich - while the fries were great, the pieces of fish were on the small side and a bit dried out. Not quite sure what fish they used either. I'll take a pass on this in the future. Horrible experience! Do NOT eat there, they have roaches! While we were waiting for our check my husband saw a roach crawling towards me. We were sitting in a booth, my side was against a wall. First off our server had an attitude from the start. We ordered from the food that was displayed on the buffet table. We were a party of 7. We observed each plate get placed in the microwave which is unacceptable. Our waitress named Marilax, was rude. When our food came out we noticed that we wanted chicken instead of beef. When we asked to change the meat, Marilax had an attitude and argued back with us saying she didn't make a mistake arguing that she read the order back to us therefore she was right. It doesn't matter who made a mistake or not, as a customer service representative you should not be arguing back and forth with a customer. And on top of that, they forcefully charged us 18% gratuity on our check. So of course she didn't care about her attitude because regardless she got a $34 tip from our check when she did not deserve it. Anyone can walk a plate to a table but what matters is the attitude you are presented with. This restaurant should not be forcing patrons to pay 18% tip when the servers are going to give you an attitude and not be amicable. At the end we still tried to engage Marilax because that's how we are, trying to make the best of an awkward situation, we playfully asked what country was she from since we were all Hispanic but she did not want to answer and when we said we were Puerto Rican that's when she answered but she was dry and disengaged. As a former customer service supervisor, this server requires further training. We are repeat customers however this particular interaction has left a sour taste in our mouths and we will not be returning to this establishment. read more

This new staff , won't even service you if they are 30 mins out from closing and you've already been sitting there . We went there at 9pm. They took our orders and the bartenders avoided asking us if we needed anything else for the rest of the time there. They close at 10pm since "Covid" . Then when the bartender bought our check once 10:10 hit , she asked did we need anything else as if she would make it being as though they closed at 10pm.
