nah. Mulligans is actually fine, but they shoot themselves in the foot in so many ways that I know I won't be going back. And as The Misses stated as we pulled away, "I never knew this place existed, and I'm happy to go back to that." Ouch. First, the good: - The building is spacious, and looked clean. There is plenty of room, and table and bar seating. - The menu is vast, with a lot of options - Service was fine. The bad: - Mulligans is wildly expensive. I think the cheapest thing to eat was a small bowl of fries, which was $7.95 (more on this in The Ugly.) An APPETIZER of chicken fingers was over $13 dollars, and that didn't include fries. I was shocked at some of the prices.... - speaking of those prices, they had Happy Hour AND Lunch specials.....that were almost the exact same price as the regular menu prices. So, a flatbread from the menu was like $12, but the Happy Hour "deal" was a flatbread for $10*....(again, more on this in a second....) How is that a deal? Yardhouse, for example, does HALF PRICE flatbreads during happy hour. - That barely discounted flatbread was also underseasoned, by the way. It looked ok, and had nice sized chicken chunks on it, but The Misses said that everything was underseasoned. (She did give them kudos for fresh fries though...) - There is no kids menu, even though there was a shocking amount of children here. We brought our 7y/o, the table next to us had 2 boys between 5-9, and at least 2 to 3 other groups came in with children just while we were sitting there. But, nothing on the menu for kids. I guess you need to just pony up the $13+ for an appetizer chicken tenders meal. The UGLY: - About those prices....they don't match the menu. I can't stand the price bait and switch, yet Mulligans hit us with it for every item. That bullshit $10 happy hour "deal" is actually $10.40 on the receipt. (BEFORE tax, before one of you wise ass economists chimes in....) My "$11.95 lunch special" was actually $12.43, and the Little Ones small side of fries came in at $8.06. Now, these are just slight little increases, but it's the point that the actual prices arenn't the same as the menu price. All of this is made even worse by the fact that.... - ...anything other than cash incurs a FOUR percent surcharge! So, our meal had an ADDITIONAL $3 tacked on because we paid with a card, like normal people. Who's walking around with cash in 2026? Drug dealers? There is just no reason to travel here to overpay for incorrectly price labeled food that you will then have to pay ANOTHER premium on at the end. We usually gravitate toward dive bars, but wanted something a little nicer for a Saturday afternoon--and Mulligan's was the perfect fit! Big, open, and bright with a varied menu and a TON of beers on tap. We had already eaten, so we didn't try the food, but everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. Portions looked generous too! One quirky thing: the older section of the restaurant in the back feels like a completely different style of building. It's a little odd, but honestly adds to the charm. I had such a wussy lunch that I was soooo hungry after work and Mulligan's was/is on my way home. I checked out the Yelp reviews and decided to stop. I had their "Ocean" salad - shrimp and crab meat. I got it with French dressing (no go-to 1000 Island). It was quite good and the seafood was plentiful. A decent size salad too (I even liked the plate, lol!) My server (blonde female - forget name - oops) was attentive and very nice. Good crowd for a Wednesday. I saw a decent amount of families too. The Phillies were on the majority of the TV screens and the game was awesome! Fun, cheering, crowd! Stopped in here for the second time today. The first time a few years ago, the portions were generous and the price was reasonable. Today I stopped in with a small group mid afternoon for an early dinner after The Philadelphia Flower Show. The food was mostly good, but the dinner portions were petite for the cost. Beware of bad business practice. Read the attached NJ law before going there. Look at the attached receipt and menus. 1. Does it look like you are getting a discount if you pay with cash? 2. Does the check reflect correct prices for the food items you ordered? 3. If they told you that they will add 4% fee to your check for using credit cards, would you have agreed to pay that fee? 4. What is REAL fee that the credit card company charge to this restaurant? My guess is it's not 4%. The manager told us this is how their "new system" works as if the management has no control over it. Had high hopes for this place on a weekend. Upon walking in, I liked the bright, airy, modern space. There were only a handful of people in at the time, and so it was nice to be there and be able to have conversation during a meal. I can imagine, though, when it's crowded or busy, how incredibly loud it must get. On to the food. I decided to try wings, which apparently get lots of raves on some different review sites. I didn't actually see any flavors that appealed to my taste buds at first, so I went for a good old fashioned BBQ sauce. To me it was overly sweet and overall, unimpressive. How so? It was a madhouse Saturday at 5 PM. The building was almost at capacity and the huge parking lot was filled to capacity. Needless to say, it was really loud inside. I can't imagine how noisy it would get if there was a football or baseball game on the TVs. We sat at the bar and eventually got to order draft beer from a list of about a dozen. We had almost finished our beers when someone came and finally took our food order. My spicy steak quesadilla was worth its price, although I think it would've been better with larger portions of salsa, guacamole, and sour cream on the side rather than having those three little dinky containers of them. My wife enjoyed the seafood pasta. My son and daughter-in-law recommended this place for its food, but I'm not sure I could put up with the crowd and noise that comes with the experience. The number of HC parking spaces is woefully small considering the size of the parking lot. The building is extremely large, airy and well lit. read more

One of our go to places for a quick bite to eat. Good food, servers are all young college age kids. Hit or miss with attentiveness, sometimes you have to wait a long time for a check. The other new thing some restaurants are tacking on a percentage fee for credit card use. They are up to 4% fee for credit card use here. Great music and wonderful desserts!! I don't normally leave bad reviews, but felt compelled in this case. Came to Mulligans on a Saturday night to meet a group of friends who were already there. At the door, we are asks to pay a $10 cover charge. We ask why, and they say for the band. Not thrilled, but we paid. On top of continually having to flag down a bartender for drinks, there is a drink price increase "while the band is on". We paid for the band at the door! We were dumbfounded. It wasn't so busy that we couldn't order drinks in a timely manner. With the dismal financial climate people are facing, this is a slap in the face. We didn't go for the band, now we are paying $20-$30 to see a band we don't care about. This is outrageous. You cannot have a conversation while band is playing. Our food was less than desirable and our friend was drinking the same mixed drink all night was made different each time. We will never come here again. Our entire group. The greed is saddening. Other times we've gone it's hit or miss with service and food. We still went in anyway because it' s close and our friends go there. Collectively, we decided to never go back. Greedy. So sad, this used to be such a great place before the renovations. Also, menu prices are not the same on the receipt. Par for the course. I guess food is more when the band is on too. read more

I've driven by Mulligans a thousand times since I work close by and finally stopped in today for the first time. It's really two bars in one: the original is a small, dark wood paneled bar straight out of the seventies. Just a year or two ago they built an addition, so right next to the old bar is the new one which is huge, bright, modern and well decorated. I'm a beer guy so that's really all I care about when I come to most bars. The beer list is pretty standard; a whole lot of average domestics (Bud, Miller, etc.), one or two locals (Tonewood and Kings Road), and a few imports (Guinness, Heineken, Stella Artois, etc.). Nothing exciting. I didn't try the food but the woman next to me was very excited about her crab bisque and let me know six or seven times how good it was, so there you go. Try the crab bisque. The tv's in the new addition are massive and it feels like there are about 60 or 70 of them in there so it's an awesome place to watch a game. Jack the bartender is an awesome guy. You can't go wrong with him. Great spot that I'll definitely return to soon. read more

Updated review. Not much has changed. Food awesome. Ambiance cool. Service still bad. Once we got a server she was very pleasant however I don't believe it was her fault on how long it took her to get back to us. We also sat for almost a full 30 minutes before we were helped. When we asked the bartender for a server she treated me like I'm a bother. My last two times I stopped in because I'm not a regular I felt like a bother to the staff. Because the food is so good here I'm not ready to write it off however if I'm dropping 130 including tip for two adults and a toddler for a weeknight dinner I feel like like we need to feel a little better about our experience than we are a burden for showing up. What an excellent experience, especially for a bar atmosphere! Each person we dealt with from the bartender, host, and waitress was professional and very friendly. My husband had the Chicken Sinatra and I had the Seafood Scampi. (They have a seafood night where you can save a couple $ on all seafood, including these dishes). Amazing. So good. Went back with wife Friday night 1/17/25 had crab dish - three different types of crab dishes in one, wife had crab & linguine was tremendous both dishes. NO. No it is not. This a dive bar trying to lay down white table cloths and have cooks, not chefs, serve food as if its fine dining. Maybe this is great to people who don't get out often or don't know the difference between food thats like a diner versus a fine establishment. I waited a freaking an hour based on all the recommendations I had to be seated. I didnt mind because THEY said it would be sooooo good. I ate the angel pasta with shrimp, spinach and crab meat in a white wine sauce. The sauce was so bland. The entree was small for the price and there was a ton of spinach compared to the rest of it. I had such high hopes based on so many recommendations but it really was a hot mess. If i could rate the staff on kindness it was 5 star, but the food needs to be on par with the white linen cloth tables for the entrees to be $24 bucks. If I could go back and tell myself to go elsewhere, I definitely would have. We're done here. read more

The 2 stars are for the appearance of the place as it is a new addition. Everything else was sub par. To start I was there about an hour and to order 4 beers and food I had to tip 3 people because of shift change. Since they have food runners I'm not sure why bartender can't take food orders. Also they charge you to use your credit card which is insane in 2023. Everyone uses credit cards. It's the cost of doing business. Now the food. I ordered wings hot and cheese fries. Pretty basic food. Fries were barely cooked. Wings were not good quality with many broken bones. Sauce had an odd taste. Not sure if it was spoiled or that's the way it tastes. Thank you Mulligans for hosting our event. Our Senior's Club had a senior's luncheon banquet in the event banquet room which is held in the old pub like bar restaurant behind the new addition. The new section is a combination of mixed wood and industrial black. The lighting is warm and soothing. Lots of TVs. I must say The overall experience and food this time, was very good. I was a bit apprehensive, having eaten there for the first time on April 18 with my friend. We went there seeking comfort food after my pup of 15 years had passed. We were not happy with the food or service on that day. I should have ordered chicken fingers and poppers. However, this time things were a lot better. Well, I thought since we are in a group and we prepaid and preordered months ago, let's see how things really are right now. Ladies and gentlemen let me tell you. We were pleasantly pleased to say the least. Our waiter was so accommodating, cheerful, friendly and happily attended to our every need, a very sweet man. He could have used another runner or two to help him out but that's my thought. The food was very fresh and cooked perfectly. I had the largest, tastiest salmon steak I had ever eaten . Side order of Green beans and garlic they were crisp and delicious, Roasted potatoes were yummy, there were toasted and rolls and butter. There were pitchers of soda. The salad was mixed greens. Dressing was good. The desert was limoncello cake moist and flavorful. There was about 30 of us in the room. Each person had ordered something different. Whether it was salmon, chicken parmigiana, flounder, shrimp and spaghetti or steak filet everyone I spoke to at my table loved their food. I would go there again. The only thing guys please make sure the larger ladies room is in working order and cleaned, it's never a good reflection on an establishment if the rest room are not functioning and clean. This is an update to my previous review. Having been disappointed with the food before, I came to try something else. One hassle is that you have to pay for drinks separate rather than putting everything on one tab. I ordered a turkey club sandwich on toasted rye. I had an oyster po' boy before, but it only had 3 oysters in it. So I figured I'd try the club sandwich. After waiting a good 15 minutes, the waitress comes out and tells me they were out of rye bread. After another 15 minutes, my sandwich still hadn't come. Thankfully, I had already paid for my beer. I got up and left. While the place is nice, the service was lame and the sandwich I did have before, the oyster po' boy was skimpy. Better choices around. read more

We've been going to Mulligan's fairly regularly over the last year or so, even during shutdown when they posted daily lunch/dinner takeout options. They converted their front parking lot into a large outdoor dining space with an abundance of adequately spaced tables and nice string lights that add some ambiance. The food here is amazing. From the flavor-packed salads, to the juicy burgers, to fried apps, to the seafood: nothing has ever disappointed at Mulligan's. Service is always super friendly and attentive, even in the pre-COVID days when the tables were packed and the wait line was out the door. They always make sure your drink glass is full and offer a wide selection of craft beer, wine, and cocktails. The prices here are ridiculously reasonable. The most recent visit included two rounds of drinks, two burgers (one beef, one turkey) with fries included, and a substitution of onion rings (WHICH WERE GLORIOUS). Our total bill including tax (not including tip, always tip your servers folks) was right under $40. SERIOUSLY?! That's amazing. Oh, and they're ZAGAT rated. This place always looks packed. So my boyfriend and I finally decided to try it. When you walk in, it looks like a regular dingy pub. They have those plastic lifetime tables in there. With some round and square tables in there. Dark. A couple 32in TVs on the wall. Nice size bar. Appearance wise it's horrible. I understand they're going under construction though so they got a pass for that. We sat at a plastic table, and a nice server gave us menus. She was very nice and sweet. Originally we ordered ginger ale. It was horrible. Not flat but like too watered down. It tasted like a splash a coke in a cup of seltzer. We told the waiter and she was nice, suggested we just don't get soda unless it's the root beer they have. I asked for water with lemon. I got water no lemon. Which again, cool. Our server was sweet. No big deal. My boyfriend ordered the French onion soup. It was good. Usually they put that bread in the soup, this place doesn't. But they gave him crackers. I was fine with that. My boyfriend didn't like that it didn't have the bread in it. He says the flavoring was good though. It's Thursday they had some specials but it was around lunch time so I got a sandwich and he got a burger. I got a chicken cutlet sandwich. It was chicken cutlet with red roasted papers and broccoli rabe. All sandwich's come with fries, a slice of pickle and some dry (and I mean really dry) cole slaw. It was a huge sandwich. Still it looked better then it tasted. He got a bacon burger. He asked for it medium. He got well done. At this point we didn't even care to mention anything to our still very pleasant server. By this time we were already convinced we're not coming back. The fries were regular pub fries. Nothing impressive about this place. At all. Idk why it's always packed. I've spoken to friends and family about this restaurant/bar favorably many, many times because I've been very pleased with their food quality, prices, and professionalism. Tonight, though I finally made the statement to Lori the owner that I would not be coming back, again. She looked me in the face and said: "Good!" My wife, son, his wife and his daughter and myself were expressing our feelings about waiting so long for our food to be served. The owner, Lori finally came to our table and it seemed like she was looking for a fight. My son and I were just trying to get the order moving. My wife, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter had already left the table, because my wife said she was ready to leave. Lori, said: "Leave!"
