Nice little bar. Bigger than your little towny bar and they sometimes have a live band with lots of seating besides the bar. They've got a great selection of craft beers on draft and lots of bottled choices as well. They have happy hour Monday - Friday from 4-7pm which gives you options for some cheap appetizers which is great because most of the breweries I've gone too don't have any food. At least there's an option to eat here. The food is usual bar food.. nothing special but it's nothing bad either! For me as long as it's fried and I've got beer.. I'm happy! Definitely wouldn't come here just based on the food alone. The service is great. I sat around the bar and the bartenders are also attentive and tell you all the specials and also about the beers if you've got any question. I've never really been there on a super busy night so not sure if it's any different. Lots of tvs so you can watch whatever sports is on. You can play pool and i believe i also saw darts. Ok so not the best food in town, but eatable since they changed cooks awhile back, and it is a little cliquish with-the locals, but friendly. It is sports bar by all means, with lots of TV sets, pool table, shuffle board, live music, and digital music. It's a nice place that serves really good drinks on a local scale, so don't be afraid to ask for your favorite beverage. Be nice and tip the bar maids. read more

Wow. Not what I expected. Online they show a generous happy hour menu and drinks. I thought it was a happening place from the web site, it is not. I like dive bars, but this one is truely a dive. All regulars inside. I felt like I was intruding. Never offered a menu. When I looked around I saw that no one had food, I mean no one, so I thought it better to not ask for a happy hour menu. I figured I would have my one beer and scoot. By the way, the beautiful web site says happy hour drafts are 2 bucks. I had a Miller Lite draft, nothing fancy, and she charged me 3 bucks. Not a dive bar, not a family restaurant, sort of a sport's bar that proudly lists crafts beers that the local crackhead customers won't drink. Food is about on par with Denny's or Applebee's, but that's being generous. Burger was definitely a poor quality frozen patty. The hot wings were under-cooked and slimy. The R Mac sampler is an example of everything wrong in the world. The free appetizer of fake Italian bread with plate of canned olives and pickled peppers was confusing. Bathroom is so cold you think you're using an outhouse. I'll give it 2 stars because they are trying, plus the bartender and waitress were pretty good. I never had to ask for a beer, they were right on queue. The pool table and shuffle board game is a huge plus also. Pros - games, cheap beer specials, decent wait staff Cons - food, unnecessarily huge list of craft beers (5 would be more than enough), some crackhead customers, and by all means don't let any of the regulars put money in the jute box. You'll want to ask the bartender for an ice pick to poke your ear drums out. This place should NOT allow customers to choose music. Just let the bartender put on a decent Pandora station and leave it alone. read more

Was there last night for a special event. They knew long in advance that the group was coming and were woefully unprepared. Not enough bartenders, not enough chefs. No one seemed interested in taking food orders. Service was horrible. I ordered a quesadilla and after 45 minutes it still had not arrived. Very noisy. Acoustics terrible - can't hear anyone speak because of the TVs and loud music. No sign on the ladies room door. Seems very unprofessional. I was told it was a soft opening with a new owner. The place smelled of varnish and workers were still drilling into walls as we attempted to enjoy time with friends. If this was the best they can do for a soft opening, watch for a fast and hard closing. read more

Great neighborhood pub to shoot pool or watch the game. Atmosphere is cool, bartenders are friendly and the food is awesome. Get the "Super" wings and try to finish them, you won't. I've had a few of the things on the menu, the steak was surprisingly good for a neighborhood bar. I will go back, many times. read more

Changed names and management many times in 20 years. Still can't serve a drink promptly. Horrible spot. Always a packed parking lot with an empty bar, which adds to the illusion. Drive on by, hit the Manor or Tonewood instead. This spot is just plain rude. read more

Saw the negative reviews and figured I'd leave a positive one since I go to this bar regularly and really feel it's getting a bad rap here. The staff here is great and very friendly. The bar tenders are there when you need a new drink and make you feel like they want you to be there, I've been in some other bars where I might as well be getting my drink from a vending machine. The drink prices are reasonable, and some of the higher end alcohols are much less expensive than other bars in the area. The beer selection is one of the better in the area, I'm not sure how someone can have a problem with too many beers to choose from, since you can always just order a miller light or whatever you usually get. If you're a sports fan, there's tv's pretty much every where so you can catch any game that's on from wherever you are sitting and there's often live music on the weekends. As for the food, it is just standard bar food. I do wish they would do something there to make themselves stand out. And yeah there are a lot of colorful people in the place, but anyone who I'd call a crack head has gotten thrown out pretty fast any time I've seen them walk in. read more

This is my first time here from when this place was the Grog. The food was just so-so then. I was hoping for an improvement in the food department but I have to say I was disappointed. Got some lunch here today while waiting for my truck to get some repairs done. They have awesome wings. Order the "super r Mac" wings. Huge. Taste great. Would of gave them 5 stars but I ordered a side salad and they charged $5 for it. Really? It wasn't even a big salad. Regardless, will return if only for the wings. read more

I wrote a review previously, but somehow it disappeared. This place is horrible (had to choose 1 star), the chicken kabobs I ordered came out raw in the middle & then they brought out fresh kabobs, and the chicken was still raw in the middle! I learned that earlier that same day another customer complained about their food. This place used to have great food, but recent changes in the staff, and the total lack of concern shown by the owner has wrecked the quality this place used to have. We went in for the first time tonight. We drive past often since we live near by. I was hoping it would be the same as the old R Macs. So disappointed!! I get its bar food and a "bar" in general but... We ordered 2 cheese steaks which were ok, also nachos a rueben and chicken parm. The food came out sporadically. The chicken parm looked like slop on a plate, the rueben was on toast not grilled with no flavor at all. The nachos came out last with brown guacamole. I've been in the food business my whole life. We have been in every restaurant that's been opened in the spot and none of them make it. It's a shame cause it could be something great. Little advise if you have a menu like that make sure who ever cooks the food actually knows how to cook it. read more

After waiting for 20 minutes for our order to be taken, food took forever to come out and the meals came our separately with 10 minutes in between. Went there a couple times for lunch because they are walking distance from my house. Food was eatable but, nothing better then wawa. Most of the time i was 1 of the only customers there for lunch. Every time the waitress and bartender was on opposite side of the bar talking to each other and playing on there phones. They were pissed off they had to give me a beer. The final straw was last time i ordered a meatloaf sandwich. I thought it would of at least be ground beef, not the stuff you usually get at diners. It was huge, probably almost a lb. On 2 big rolls. I told the ignorant bartender i will never eat all of that and she can take half back and wrap it. She took entire platter back to the kitchen, and went back to her phone. After getting food back, which she slammed down in front of me, she threw the bill at me and would not see if i needed more to drink, which i did. I took all my money off the bar and threw bill behind bar and walked out. I was hoping she came out to confront me i would of asked owner/manager to look at security film and find out why it happened. Totally horrible place to go. Walked in got a beer it was flat. I told the bartender she said " I just changed the keg and gave you the first beer." I'm not a bartender but I know not to do that. I ordered mozzarella sticks they were so burnt there was no cheese left in them. Not a good experience. I will not return. read more

We went to R Macs on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. We were aware that this establishment was recently (within 2 weeks) sold and re named under new management . We thought we would give it a try. We ordered drinks and special appetizer and the chefs special entree. The decor was unsightly since all previous wall hangings had been removed and with plaster board showing . It was as if we were eating dinner in a basement. That wasn't the worst of it. While waiting for dinner, the owners were present , eating at a table near by, dressed in suits , barking orders to waitress loud enough for all to hear. One of the owners or managers was standing around and glaring at the wait staff and the customers. We have never been so uncomfortable while trying to eat dinner and relax. I felt they were creepy and did not care about the customers, more interested in themselves. Not a good first impression, more so, they didn't care what anyone thought as we watched the uncomfortable 1 1/2 hour evening unfold. Now the food... Crap dip appetizer was mediocre, not lump crab, just average..... Entree of sea food Fra Diavolo was VERY disappointing. The shrimp was tiny, (medium if best). The fish was tasteless. The mussels were probably frozen and the clams few and nothing to speak of.. the pasta (linguine) was very ,very spicy and the portion was small on this $20 dollar entree. Now were you wondering where the scallops were ??? yes so was I .... There were none.... poor excuse for a potentially delicious entree. We almost wanted to drive down the street to Merryfields restaurant and purchase a Fra Diavolo dinner and bring it to the 3 hot shot owners and show them what a real Fra Diavolo looks like....and tastes like.... In summary, we gave them a try and totally disliked them and their food.... They made no attempt to work the room to make us feel comfortable or just plain wanted....We couldn't wait to leave....It was creepy and they didn't seem to care to bring in new clientele or keep the old... They also removed the games ( ie Pool table, game machines) . I wonder what crowd they are hoping to attract? Hopefully its not anyone who wants to relax, drink and eat a delicious meal ... I don't think that's going to happen.... The Sunday Brunch at R-Macs is, in one word.. AMAZING!!! Not a buffet...not a bunch of premade food.. Chef Dwayne hit the mark dead center... Made to order omelettes.. potatoes and toast and oh ya.. Strawberry and Cream Cheese stuffed French toast and coffee and juice...And more.. Cream Chipped Beef... Eggs any way you want... For 8.95... No upcharge.. I loaded an omelette with everything under the sun and then some.. I asked how many things can I put in the omelette.. He said as many as you can eat.. go for it!!! This guy is unreal.. He loves the place, he loves the food, he loves the customers...Ive been a customer for years of R-Macs and the food was always great and portions above and beyond. But this Sunday Brunch takes it!!! You can't eat Brunch anywhere for that money, and how bout its all fresh made to order and whatever you ask for, Chef Dwayne's Answer... YES... Can I have the onions grilled first in my omelette... YES.. Can we have toast AND potatoes... YES I can't compliment the food or the service any more than this.. Its worth the ride from wherever.. Doesn't matter..
