My wife and I visited this place last Wednesday night for Quizzo. We have been there 4 or five times in the past. We sat at a table and were very disappointed that a customer had their dog with them and the kept playing fetch with the dog. The food was excellent but the bartender seems to be distracted and completed forgot to bring another drink to our table. Bobby Rays is probably one of the better sports bars in Southern Jersey. In fact I take that back with the crafts, food, decor and other delights with an attentive well accommodating staff they provide you. This is the best option for all and anyone. Who wouldn't appreciate that? That is kind of bold on my part , I know but their closest competition is a joke which I have been too, I am not going to name drop but it has to do with an "Eagle", and a color of a M&M not yellow but.... Yea you should already have figured it out by now. Bobby Rays what sets them apart is not their dedication to the fine craft that is always in constant rotation, not the fact they are willing to accommodate to your needs, plus the fact that they have some great bartenders in Jenna, Brittany, and Victoria. I mention these 3 fine ladies , because these are the 3 I have dealt with the times I have been in here. What makes Bobby Rays so unique is they cater to everyone and anyone that attends. From the business man/ woman who wants to escape that hustle and bustle, to the number one fan looking to explode while cheering on their team. Maybe its the camaraderie that brings everyone here, again who doesn't like being a part of that? I know myself that its a great feeling to experience. The kitchen end of it is pretty much on point with whatever you order. I have had a few of their different , or unique types of burgers. They were ok, but their wings are the truth. Bobby can hold his own with this. I have also dabbled in the menu, trying out different types of bar fare. I will say this I did enjoy their pretzel sliders with cajun fries on the side. Their beers well, lets not kid ourselves Bobby again nailed it with great crafts on a constant rotation. They have 20+ crafts with what seems an endless sea of bottled beers to peruse from. Great off the beaten path bar with great service and Food! If craft beer is your thing, this is your spot! They have a pretty large selection to choose from....The burger menu is pretty damn creative too!!! Up there with Pour House and Zinbuger, but wayyyy cheaper!!!! However, you get what you pay for....they're good, but NOT the same. Although I would order again knowing what they are now... Great bar for watching games or being a bar jock! Groupon and Living Social users be aware! The website includes a picture that doesn't accurately describe the offer. A picture shows a burger with fries and a pint of beer behind it. Well, fries are not included with the burgers, only chips, and the beer, for coupon-users, is served in a small goblet, not a pint. The goblet is buried in the fine print, but not shown on the picture. I pointed this out to the server (a real sweetheart who did a fabulous job) and she apologized for the issue. I came here for the first time last night and had a great experience. The bartender outside (the check didn't say her name) was AWESOME. We sat outside in the patio, she was super attentive even though she had customers at her bar up the stairs. Super friendly and welcoming. We got the O'Dowd burger and 2 orders of wings - garlic parm and mild. The wings were awesome. The mild could have used a little more sauce, I'll ask for extra next time. The garlic parm wings were perfect. The burger was also really good, she even had the kitchen cut it in half because we were splitting everything. If I could give negative stars I would. I will say they have a decent drink selection and depending on who the cook is the food can be pretty good but it's hit or miss depending on the cook. The owner is a pig who thinks he's someone important, he's married yet he hits on female patrons and doesn't appreciate being turned down. If you're not a regular here don't bother you'll be ignored by the staff. I stopped going to this place years ago because they allowed kids in there while their parents got drunk and employees were doing drugs. He used to have some great bartenders in there but fired them for bs reasons. I went back recently for a girls night out with friends they chose not me. But nothing has changed you're still ignored if not a regular. I wouldn't believe most of the reviews since he tells employees and regulars to go on and leave 5 star reviews after someone gives a real review. I would imagine that like the Irish Mile and Connie Mac's, the vibe of this place changes depending on when you go. We went for lunch at this local bar on a rainy Saturday and it was pretty dead: there were a couple of regulars and three wild kids under the age of 10, slamming the skee balls, running around and being kids. I wanted to say (in my best old man voice): Hey you kids, this ain't Chuck E. Cheese! Knock it off! Everyone seemed to know the bartender, who was back from college. She was very pleasant and accommodating, but seemed to having a tough day. The registers were on the fritz, the plumbers were working on the men's bathroom that was broken, new menus were introduced (and not everything was in stock) and she got our order wrong. She was apologetic and re-made it and offered a free beer. While they do have a large selection of craft beers, many were in bottles. Full bar. Bar napkins promoted Jager Spice, so I thought, sure, I'll order one but was told "Sorry, we don't have that. It's bad advertising." Okaaaaay. Burger was OK, a little mealy. Round bun was light and airy, which is good because they give you enough food for two meals. Fries had skin on and were cooked well, but over-seasoned with garlic salt, which you're either going to love or hate. Coleslaw was good but too heavy on the mayo. Also ordered the half and half (half steak, half chickensteak), but would just go with chickensteak next time. Did not get a chance to try outdoor seating or the back deck, but I would imagine they'd be nice. Parking lot is angled spaces and difficult to negotiate. The bartenders seemed like they've were not skilled or experienced in customer service. They ignored people and rolled their eyes when my request wasn't convenient for them. I asked for 3 specific drinks and the one bartender came back after about 10-15 minutes with the wrong drinks. When i corrected her she got rude and rolled her eyes at me. In addition to this, this place seems racist and intolerant. I felt discriminated against. Note to the bartenders: find a new career. Awful bartenders. This place shouldn't be allowed to operate during covid and I'm surprised they haven't been fined or shutdown yet. Since July this bar has stayed open until 2-3am. On the weekend it's just fights because they serve kids under 21 who don't know how to act when drinking. This bar doesn't enforce social distancing inside. They've been open indoors since July. Everyone gathers around the bar shoulder to shoulder ordering drinks that take 30 mins to get due to bartenders not knowing how to incorporate a flow for taking orders. Bartenders don't wear mask. Instead they wear the mask on their wrist. Wearing a mask isn't enforced here it's a choice. Very few people have a mask on when roaming around. I've been ignored when trying to order drinks before and have been given drinks that are 3/4 full while others get full drinks. I definitely feel racist vibes when dealing with some bartenders here. read more

Stopped in with a Groupon Deal about 6pm on a Saturday evening with the wife. Large Bar with plenty of tables. We chose the Bar. Victoria our bartender was very helpful and knowledgable about the craft beers. We ordered the mini panzarrotti's as our appetizer. They were very tasty. I ordered the Southwest Burger 1/2 lb. 100% Beef topped with Crispy Bacon, Tangy BBQ sauce with Onion Rings & cheese. Very tasty and very filling. Flying Fish Pale Ale for my beverage. Wife had "The Jacoby" Sliced & Grilled Chicken Breast with Pepper Jack Cheese, Chopped Bacon and Ranch Dressing on a fresh baked roll. She said it was very good. Had to take half home. Big sandwich. Bobby Ray's is such a great pub in the middle of a boring suburban town. There is a great selection of craft beer offered here, with an even greater selection of bar snacks to compliment. My preference for craft beers vary; however as for bar snacks I enjoy the mini panzarottis, basket of fries, and pretzel sliders (& am looking forward to trying their other bar dishes). Another great thing about this pub is the events they throw to keep things exciting. There are also different special deals every day, my favorite is Wednesday where craft beers are $3.50. I've been in this place a total of 2 times. it's just not my favorite. My ex boyfriend frequents this place, which is the reason I even went in here in the first place. I guess maybe there are a group of "regulars" here. The first time I walked in, we got stared at like we have medusa hair at 10 heads... Instantly making me want to exit. We did not stay long. A few years later (recently), I went back again... With my ex again, to meet my sister there for drinks. There was a holiday party going on so there were more people than usual. Service was good. So we stood around for a little while until I asked one of the servers, because none of them approached us first. The food is typical greasy bar food that hits the spot when the mood arises. The beer list on the other hand is often rotated and they have many interesting options. Just went back for the first time in a couple yrs. They didn't have the deck last time I was there. I'd say the place has improved. The interior is much the same, and the shuffleboard table looks to be in good shape. I appreciate this unexpected watering hole of interesting beers and tasty snacks. (Did you know there is a beer called Pennsauken Crick? and it doesn't taste putrid, in fact rather tasty) Parking can be a pain to find. I was here on a Monday and had to circle a couple times before squeezing into what I hope was a valid parking area. I recall encountering a number of colorful characters when I stopped here after work several yrs ago. Again, it was Monday this time, so who's to say really how much the patrons have changed. I have been to this establishment several times in the past and had no real complaints, friendly staff, food and drinks ok. Well last night was a different story. I hyped this place for my two cousins so we decided to visit. Service was great, drinks were great; However, we ordered the seafood sampler which was awful. Everything in the sampler tasted frozen and dry. The Cole slaw didn't even have seasoning. We also order the Thai Curry Shrimp which is nothing but DRY Ramen Noodles, (yes oodles and noodles) with Curry seasoned shrimp on top AWFUL! I have a Groupon that I havent used yet and I'm not. We really want to like this place. A big room. Fun old school games. Shuffleboard. Ski ball. Bowling. Foosball. A bangin jukebox. Our five year old loves it. An above average tap list, although it's not the list on their site. We have gone twice, using a great groupon, which should have been our warning. The service here is not slow. It is record slow. Two and sometimes three people behind the bar. One waitress, as nice as can be, struggling. A place like this, if we had beers, we could deal with a slow kitchen. But we spent most of our time with empty glasses. The wings, when they came, were ok. That's all My wife's chicken cheesesteak came out in beef form. She ate it because it took 70 minutes. I rarely rebuy a groupon for a place because let's face it, Groupon as a company sucks a fat one. And the establishments are hit or miss. Ok, miss, miss, miss, hit, miss. This is the place to go if you want a casual place to hang out grab some beers with friends. The bartenders are awesome! Really friendly place where you can saddle up the to the bar and feel like you are home. Bobby Ray himself was there the night I visited and he was a hoot!!!! YOU MUST EAT THE PANZEROTTI. Holy crap those things are amazing- seriously if you miss out on the opportunity to eat authentic panzerotti you will regret it for the rest of your life. My friend had the burgers and even though I don't eat meat I could appreciate the shear volume of meat and toppings. She had the Mozitis burger and really enjoyed it. Deserts of brownie and blondies are a not to miss item - homemade just like you would have in your mom's kitchen. The beer selection is really good and it includes several local brews. This is a good spot that has all the makings of a good pub and restaurant, but it is just missing a few things to really make it "great." I personally really like it and hope it finds what it needs to really become a cohesive and excellent local gem. I ordered medium rare and I got medium rare - loaded with onion rings, pulled pork, barbecue sauce, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Messy and delicious. The buffalo chicken wrap was less transcendent, but still good (really good as far as healthier options go but not next level like the burger). Mini panzarotti were just fine, but could use more filling. Fries could be crispier. All in all - I was very happy with the food. DRINKS: Good craft selection. I was very happy to see a solid number of craft beer selections, representing different styles and breweries from all over. Nothing to complain about, except I'm concerned with freshness because I'm not sure if the craft beers turn over fast enough to keep the IPAs optimally fresh. PRICE: Simply cannot complain. Great specials, very reasonably priced. SERVICE: My wife and I ate at the bar. The bartender, Erica, was very friendly, attentive, and fast. What else can you ask for? Fun place! Big and open inside. 2 decks, one in front and one out back which is really big. The place is deceiving from the outside it looks alot smaller from the street. Bartenders were attentive and the food was fantastic. We had the half and half classic sandwich and the jacoby. Both were good we each had 1/2 of each sandwich. A sweet deal Groupon brought me to this place from Philly. I like the crowd the ambience and the music! The service was great and the food was very good, we got the mini panzarrotti's for an appetizer and they were delicious and we both got a burger which were very good, i've had better but nonetheless they were still very good. They had a very large beer list and their prices were very reasonable. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because they were out of a lot of stuff which is annoying, but overall it was a fun upbeat place with good food good beers and good prices and I will definitely be back especially since they have outdoor seating weather permitting!!!! read more

Okay, Okay so I gave this place a couple more shots (as you may tell from the number of check-ins)... My first experience was not good BUT the place has definitely grown on me. PROS: I give the owner props for continuously trying new things to keep a good crowd in there. There is a very nice selection of draft beer to choose from which always include a couple of seasonal selection so that choices never get old. Food is pretty good for bar food... pretty standard fare but the chef (Manny) is wonderful and makes fantastic soups (yes... I said great soup in a bar ~ lol) Definitely try the Pennsauken Mud fries as they are absolutely delicious! CONS: Too high of a turmover of bartenders for my liking but that's just personal preference and some seem to have zero bartending skills. OVERALL: Nice local spot to hang out... Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday almost always has a DJ or live band which is always a plus. And Tuesdays = ALL Bottle (Domestic and Import) beers are only $2. read more

I recently returned after a year or so away. The menu had changed, it was smaller, but that's ok as long as they focus on what they did keep on the menu. Though my friend was disappointed they got rid of the mussels. I got a burger, and it was good. The happy hour changed - no more martinis, and it only goes until 6, but they did expand it to include Yuengling, which is my macro-brew of choice. When happy hour was was over, I got the Pennsauken Crick Pale Ale, which I thought was excellent. Our waitress this time was actually competent. It was dead when we first got there, but it was early and by 6:30 had a pretty good crowd of people eating at the tables (on a Wednesday night), which says something I guess. We were pretty happy with the experience there and we will definitely return. If the service and food remains consistent, I will raise my rating.
