My family used to really enjoy this place. Within this last year this place has fallen in the gutter! Our past couple of orders have been nothing but disappointing/horrible. Tonight we ordered simple cheese steaks, wings and it was terrible. I'm allergic to onions I asked for no onions made it a point to tell them I was allergic and guess what Onions on my chicken cheese steaks! I called and (Edward) answered the phone and told me he couldn't deal with me bc cops were out front to call in the morning to handle things. Well Edward I was hungry tonight!! I ordered 2 small pizzas (one cheese with onions and the other broccoli with ricotta) and chicken fingers with fries. The cheese pizza tasted as if it had been prepared a day prior. Chicken tenders were burned, and instead of 5 I received 4. While the pizza didn't look good I still started eating some of it expecting the favor would compensate. Well, it didn't. I decided to call the establishment to express my discontent. I started summarizing my order and began to explain the issues I had. The gentleman stated that what I was saying about the pizza was very strange because "he was the business owner and the one who prepared the pizza". I proceeded stating that the pizza may have gotten cold during transit or maybe I was the last costumer to receive the order. I added that I have ordered from them in the past and the pizza I got today is not the same. I also pointed out that I was not calling to request a refund or another pizza. While stating this, I was continuously being interrupted. He was extremely defensive, not accepting the fact that the pizza did not taste good or the same. Proceeded interrupting me while I was trying to finalize my thought process. Eventually, I decided to move on and point out the issues with the chicken tenders which is when he stated "okay, now you are changing." as if I was trying to change topics for lack of proper answers when in reality that was part of the whole order. When I confronted his statement, he stated "the thing that I don't like are liars". I questioned him if he was calling me a liar, and he had the audacity to say "I am not calling you a liar." Well, he did. I finalized the phone call stating that I was surprised by his attitude specially for being the business owner and that I would write a review. I will not order from this place again, not because of the pizza or the burned chicken tenders, but simply because this person (aka business owner) has absolute zero finesse to deal with his customers. When I went to the door to take my delivery from the driver, he immediately accosted me asking me where is his tip. anytime I place an order online it automatically default to a 15% tip. To say the least, I was shocked at this person, had the audacity to confront someone I immediately called Philly fatty to voice a complaint. After I explained what happened with their delivery driver, I was told we're really busy. I then asked who was the owner and I would call back. I was informed the owners on vacation. Ok so I was in south jersey and saw "voted south jerseys best philly cheese steak" so how could I pass that up? For anyone who knows me, knows cheese steaks are my favorite food and I take them serious so let's see how phatties measures up! Even with a restaurant lined with Phillies and eagles memorabilia they didn't judge me with my yankees hat on! Everyone was super friendly and cool. Little mom and pop spot, slightly outdated as far as style but that's how these places are supposed to be, felt right at home. Ok so now let's get to the good part! The philly cheese steak! The roll was average, not amazing and not bad. I felt the sandwich was a little lacking with more meat and cheese, was fairly priced but definitely not overflowing with steak, underwhelming a bit if anything. Onions were cooked good and a nice amount. I only tried the steak so I can't comment on pizza and other menu items but it was a solid enough steak that I would definitely eat there again but it wasn't any holy grail of cheesesteaks. read more

I'd give five stars for the chicken parm pizza and one star for the chicken fingers, so here we are at three stars. Really, though, the Groupon deal is awesome, and anyone who likes sports (particularly the Phillies, obviously), would enjoy this place in downtown Oaklyn. The chicken fingers were way too dry, even after dousing them in honey mustard. But the chicken parm pizza was great! I'll actually be having some for dinner tonight. It's hard for me to give a pizza place more than three stars, but I may update my review if I stop back in and try more options. Absolute horrible customer service. I order from here probably at least one every 1-2 weeks. On Sunday 2/11/24 I ordered online as I always do. Today part of the order included a Lg Pizza w/mushrooms & green peppers. They don't have an option to take off the cheese, so in the "instructions" I entered No Cheese at all - only sauce & veges. We received our order and it had cheese so I called. The guy who answered asked did we want them to remake it, and I replied yes, the person can't eat cheese. He then asked do I want it delivered, and I said no I'd pick it up. It's not the drivers fault. A few minutes later I missed a call from them, so I called back. The guy on the phone informed me they CAN NOT replace my pizza, I asked why, and he said I have no idea. I spent $73 on this order, and my past orders have never been under $50. So, needless to say we will never order from them again and will let everyone we know not too. read more

Seriously the buffalo chicken pizza is amazing. I was craving it for some time so I dropped in because of the reviews and yelp did me a solid yet again. I came in as soon as they opened during the week and orders were already flying in. If it's a busy place, then you know it has to be good. I ordered a small buffalo chicken pie for myself. It came out fast and was smothered in cheese just how I want my pizza to be. The crust was crunchy yet soft and chewy at the same time. The grilled chicken pieces tasted fresh, which sounds weird, but I don't like when chicken has a rubbery, day-old taste to it. I was so crazy about the pizza that I didn't allow myself to share with anyone and I had plenty leftovers. The only thing I ate that day was PP's buffalo chicken pizza. No regrets. read more

I went with all the usual fried beginnings: small cheese fries, mozzarella sticks and broccoli bites. All good, nothing special standard bar foods. The cheesesteak wrap was what I was aiming for and he went with the bacon cheesesteak. Mine was with lettuce, tomatoes and maybe mayo? Some sauce was in there and it was eh. I thought it was going to be just the meat and cheese wrapped up in a tortilla, which would have been awesome. His looked a little dry, but he didn't complain. Would I order again from here? On a recent trip to spend Thanksgiving with Mom in NJ, of course we just HAD to partake in either a cheesesteak or a hoagie, particularly after a few days of turkey this and turkey that. Yelp to the rescue and we found Philly's Phatties, and we could order through Yelp and have our sandwiches delivered! Mom opted for a cheesesteak with extra fried onions, my lovely wife and daughter ordered American hoagies and I opted for the Italian. I asked for delivery around 6:00pm, and our order showed up at the door around 5:30. Better than late, I say. As soon as I opened the bag, I knew we were in for some mighty good eats. The scent of grilled onions and the oil and vinegar on the hoagies filled the kitchen. The sandwiches were excellent, and big enough that each of us could only finish half. All the better to save for lunch the next day. Next time we're in South jersey, Philly's Phatties will surely get a return order. read more

Philly's Phatties is a great "greasy" food delivery place (that also has salads). A run down of our order today: Chicken cheesesteak - 7in - tasty roll, real cheese, and not overstuffed with meat. Plain steak - 7in - tasty fresh roll, not overstuffed with meat, and love that you can customize (I added fried onions and ketchup just like when I was a kid!) Cheese Tater Tots - how the tots stayed crispy packaged for delivery is beyond me - but it's like a miracle! Cheese-wiz on the side. Totally slammin'! Chicken Caesar salad - big enough for two, and when we asked for dressing on the side they gave us two big sides of it! Loved that they packaged the croutons in a separate side container too so that if you store the leftover salad in the fridge you can keep the croutons on the counter so they don't get soggy. All in all an awesome experience. They know what they're doing here for sure, and we'll be sure to order from them again when the craving hits us. read more

This is NOT your average pizza joint! The guys that work there are super friendly, polite and very helpful. I tried to order special fries (bacon, whiz and mozzarella) without the whiz...and the guy told me it would be less expensive if I ordered mozz. fries w/ bacon. Done deal! They always accommodate my special requests. The food is pretty darned good, too! I love that they sprinkle parm cheese on the crust of the pizza before baking! I'm a first time customer and I found my first order to be promising but mostly mediocre. Let me preface this by saying I am a huge wing nerd and one of those Scoville-addled heat freaks. If I find your off-the-beaten-path wing shack, I will order your hottest just to see what you're all about. And in terms of both heat and flavor, the wings here are not worth further attention. Texturally the wings were pretty decent and cooked to perfection, but the sauce was utterly bland. No discernable flavor, no heat, just blah. The birds arrived swimming in a dreary brown goop that looked like canned chipotles-in-adobo sauce. And the entire plate was overwhelmed by the scent of roughly 95 sticks of rapidly warming celery that they helpfully provide with your 12 wings. Hot celery smells alarmingly like garbage. Like the kitchen garbage bag you forgot to take out yesterday. Not what I want hitting my nose when I'm about to eat junk food. I didn't touch a single stalk and yet an hour later, the palm of my hand smelled exactly like celery. I also ordered a side of their so-called Special Fries, because I have given up on life and that seemed like the best way to celebrate. They are french fries topped with mozzarella, Whiz, bacon and ranch. My order arrived with the ranch on the side, I guess in case I might be on a diet. These fries were so absurdly decadent and delicious, and I processed the shame in record time. This place is conveniently local for me, so I will probably try their steaks and pizza at some point in the future, but the wings are Papa John's tier. Sorry, that's mean. They weren't expressly bad -- I'm probably just insanely pretentious on that front -- but service was great and they seem to be nice folks who care about their product.
