I had been wanting to check out this Mexican spot for a while, as I heard it was one of the best around South Jersey. I can now confirm that to be true. My mom, my friend, and I stopped in for dinner during Glassboro Restaurant Week in March. We had a wide range of food items, from guac and chips, quesadillas (birria and carnitas), cactus, and tres leches cake. My mom was extremely persnickety to start, but by the end of the meal she couldn't claim to "not like Mexican food" anymore. Still to this day, she wants to go back for a carnitas quesadilla, so I'm sure we'll be back sometime soon. Service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance was no-frills.

The food is the best , most traditional in the area! The service is always great, helpful and friendly. The decor is bright fun and beautiful. It's worth a trip (or 10)

Brought Mom for dinner. It's a colorful dining room. She loved the paintings on the tables and chairs. We both enjoyed our food. We had lots of leftovers, which Mom enjoyed. Portions are generous. She liked the quesabirria tacos. So did I. I ordered a huarache with steak and cactus. It was pretty good! It was also delicious for lunch the next day. Save room for dessert at their sweets shop next door!

This authentic and flavorful restaurant is a staple in the college town of Glassboro. This place is my go to when I am craving food that is tender, juicy, and tastes like it was made by seasoned chefs. Every table receives a free basket of chips and two salsas so this is a perfect place to bring a friend! The service is fast, and the waiters check on you throughout your meal to ensure you are satisfied. The decor is beautiful, and the music is lively. I often find myself looking at the murals during my meal and doing a little dance in my seat as I eat! Overall, this is my all time favorite. I would recommend the Tacos de Birria and the mango agua fresca!

Went to El Mariachi and Delsea Drive in Glassboro, NJ. The waiter gave us a bowl of freshly made chips and two types of salsa (red and green with a hint of heat). The service was excellent! We ordered for appetizers queso fundito which was very good and tasty. You have a choice of flour or corn tortillas. For our entree we ordered the birria tacos, slow cooked shredded beef with melted cheese filled with of cilantro and onions. Very good and tasty as well. We are very lucky to have a gem of a Mexican authentic restaurant in Glassboro. Good food, excellent service! I would definitely be back!

El Mariachi is nestled in a small strip mall near Rowan University off Delsea Drive. I must admit I have never set food inside the actual restaurant, but I have ordered takeout numerous times. Their quesabirria is so good and only loses half a star because the consommé could use a bit more flavor. The rice is light and not salty at all so it pairs well with heavier items, like birria. My husband got a burrito which was the size of a small child and delicious too. All in all it's a great local spot to call when you're craving Mexican.

This is the best option in the Mullica Hill/Glassboro area when it comes to authentic Mexican. The fajitas were great.

Best Tinga tacos around! I always get them so I can't speak for anything else on the menu, but these are definitely worth the visit.

The first time I was here years ago, I love it. Came here with the crew to celebrate J's birthday, it was a little underwhelming.

The oldest is working. When he arrived, Dane came up and asked his name and checked for our online order. He ended up bringing food back for 2 other customers then proceeded to ask "what's your name again?" My husband repeated his name and he went to the back to check on it again. Several more minutes pass and Hailey comes and asks "what's your name again?" Once again, he tells her his name and she goes to the kitchen, comes back and asks to see the order. At that point , he clicked the order on his phone along with the confirmation text and showed her both. She then goes back to the kitchen, comes back out and continues her job as a server with constant eye contact and no interaction. Unbelievably, then comes back for a FIFTH TIME ATP AND ASKS HIS NAME AGAIN. Hailey then pulls up a tablet, finds his name, goes back to the kitchen, comes back after almost 40 minutes total at this point, and asks if we want a refund tomorrow. SERIOUSLY?!? Then has the audacity to become more and more combative like we have done something wrong as opposed to being apologetic. SMH. My husband tells them to make the food instead of a refund because we were actually hungry and have been traveling all day. He comes back to pick it up 10/15 minutes later and was given our "order" by new guy Joel (finally a helpful one). My husband thanked him for taking accountability and attempting to correct the situation. You would think it was over now, right? Food in hand. Headed home. Good. NOPE. My husband had to go back. Our 13yr olds Birria tacos weren't there and neither was the dressing for my salad. Or the extra we paid for. Lastly, I ordered a fajita salad. Aren't the peppers and onions supposed to be cooked/grilled something? See pics. Full transparency, they did try to compensate with free dessert but, this was way too much. And the dessert came before they forgot a whole meal. Oh and when I called back to explain the issues, I got to speak with the sweetest peach - insert sarcasm - Naomi. She spelled her name out nicely for me and then hung up on me, instead of again, either being apologetic or taking accountability for your company. I wasn't even being nasty because I knew we had to get more food that my son would be ingesting. It's not personal sweetheart, if you work in an industry that customer based, be ready to accept feedback. Good or bad.

The menu is good, with plenty of options, but we were a little disappointed as the on site menu is very different from the online menu, and we were SUPER excited to try some of the desserts we saw, NONE of which were available anymore. Also, the prices were vastly different as well; the kids quesadilla and fries was a more than reasonable $5 online, but much, much less of a deal at $10 in person. Service was fine, and we didn't have any issues. Our waitress spoke spanish completely with The Misses, so I'm not even sure if they DO speak English here. I got the al pastor tacos, which were fine, and The Misses got chicken tacos, which she said were "a little dry." She finally asked for a side of sour cream to help them go down. The little ones quesadilla and fries was fine, and actually had some good sized chicken chunks, so that wasn't bad. We used to be in this area every Wednesday, and would have definitely gone back, but now that we're not, I'm not sure that we'll make the trip back for it. If you're local, it's certainly not a bad meal.

It had an open kitchen with a small bar section so you could eat right where they cook. It was decorated in traditional Mexican decor. Now for the food, I ordered the enchiladas , one with Verde sauce and the other with Molé. The food smelled wonderful as I opened the bag and it looked just as delicious. The tortillas were fresh and homemade and the flavor was on point. The verde sauce had a great flavor and had just enough kick to make me know there was some spice. It was covered in lettuce and cheese and specked with diced tomato. The chicken was moist and tasty. The Molé sauce was deep and rich and had excellent flavor. It came with beens and rice. The beans were light colored and not black beens and the rice was standard Mexican rice. Overall it was really good. I will be going back again. They accepted debit cards but also had an ATM in the corner. The only drawback is that they didn't have any menus to give me so I will have to search that up on the inter webs. A small inconvenience for a wonderful meal.
