The sit-down meals have been pretty good, but the take-out tocos missed the mark on this visit. I went with the Mexican style asada tacos (3) because i like cilantro. The tacos were sad...not much flavor and the meat was tough. Disappointing, but at least it was bits of steak and not hamburger meat,

Guacamole and Chips - tasty!

Taco Tuesday was made for places like this! I expected Jalapenos to be BYOB (based on a Yelp menu photo) so I was thrilled to learn that they make a mean margarita. Lots of generic as well as fruity varieties (savory ones too)! The outdoor seating was great...breezy and festive. The homemade chips were divine. They looked like they'd be a little tough since there was a thickness to them, but they were surprisingly light and airy. These chips blow away anything you'll get out of a bag. The guacamole is not made table-side, but it's seemed freshly made. Good chunk-to-smoothness ratio. Our friend and I had the Chicken Enchiladas with mole sauce and my husband had the Spicy Chicken Ceasar Salad. The portions were plentiful and the spice was spot-on. Their mole sauce had a hint of sweetness to it. It added a nice balance. This place appears to be a neighborhood favorite. Those giant margaritas will have us coming back for more!

I'm a little torn writing this review... First off, our waitress was PHENOMENAL. She was fun, super friendly, and attentive. Zero complaints there. Now the food... I ordered a carnitas chimichanga which came with black beans and rice. The chimichanga was great and the carnitas were excellent and cooked perfectly. We also got the nachos with carnitas which were good, but they don't put enough cheese. The beans were just okay, but the rice was awful. I don't understand why Mexican restaurants can never get the rice right. I'm assuming they must use a pre-made boxed rice because they all taste the same!! Anyway, the chips and salsa were good. However, we got the fried ice cream for dessert and the flavor was good, but the fried part of it tasted stale which really ruined the whole thing. I would come back now that I know a little more of how things taste.

I used to live 5 mins from this place and ordered from them at least twice. Finally stopped in for dinner with some friends and had a great experience. This is a pretty big place with an open dining area, large bar and private rooms. The restaurant is not super well lit - the opposite of my experience at most other Mexican restaurants but the food was good and the service on point. They also had a woman singing and dancing which was fun. I had the wet chicken burrito which came covered in a really tasty mole sauce. I don't normally eat mole but this was great - sweet but not overpowering. The burrito was huge. I ate half of it and saved the rest. In the past, I've had their tacos and quesadilla - both are good. Check 'em out if you find yourself in the neighborhood.

Review during the Pandemic: This place gets rave reviews and the Collingswood area peeps love it, so it came highly recommended. We came as dining outside first started up fairly recently. The patio is set up facing a fairly busy road, so I wasn't crazy about the cars whizzing by and the loud music. The food was OK. The tortilla chips tasted a bit stale to me - the salsa was something I really enjoyed. I enjoyed the burrito with carnitas, but it could have used a bit more flavor. The salad that came with it didn't come with any dressing that I could tell. The server was very nice and did a great job. It was a bit of confusion with the bill, but we asked the server to clarify and it was sorted out.

I've loved Jalapeños for years. Exactly why I selected this restaurant to celebrate a new job opportunity with my family. Our particularly phenomenal service tonight was my reminder to finally give credit where it's due!! Our server, Yary, was very busy when we arrived and STILL delivered the best service. She took our drinks, appetizers, and entree orders without writing anything down and nailed it!! On top of the accuracy she made us feel so welcome and like family. So genuine. It's hard to find service like hers. BEST spicy margarita I've found with top notch and authentic food, as always. I will continue to come here regularly and recommend it to friends and family.

Please excuse the ugly picture, I was so hungry and it looked delicious. I don't like olives and radishes but I don't even taste them in the salad and it is sooooo good. I haven't had a really good salad in awhile and this definitely is worth ordering and you can eat the bowl it comes in

We went last night (Saturday) for dinner. Due to Covid they had to remove a lot of tables. It wasn't very busy inside, I assume people are still afraid to eat inside, which is sad, because this place was always packed. The guacamole & homemade chips are a must get. I had the chicken chimichanga and it was delicious. My husband had the fried fish tacos and he really enjoyed them. The service was great too!

San Pedro Tierra Mexican - Mixto fajitas

We walked in and sat ourselves. The server came over with the menu and we decided to share the mixto fajitas. The server came and brought some complimentary chips and some beans with cheese on top. Very small serving but enjoyed the "starter". She then brought out our mixto fajitas with 3 homemade tortillas. They were a little thicker and puffier than regular tortillas. They were very good! We wished we had gotten one more so we could each have two. The amount of meat and veggies was perfect. Much more shrimp than I had anticipated. The shrimp were big, butterflied and flavorful. I can imagine other dishes on the menu being very good. The decor was festive. There is a TV that is blaring which was a little distracting. They have a few cases with drinks and some desserts and Mexican snacks. We would definitely go back.

This came with neither, and I had to pay $1.50 more for a small cup of pico de gallo, which tasted like it had no jalapeños in it. I had to put a lot of salt on all of the food. I don't generally add salt to my food at restaurants. I don't generally need to. Especially Mexican restaurants. The beef was good. I never had cheese melted onto my fajitas either. I think it was Oaxaca cheese, but I'm not sure. There was no cheese on the side, which I'm used to. While the meat and peppers and onions had a decent flavor after adding a lot of salt, the guacamole was just a pile of green mush. (I thought it had tomatoes and jalapeños in it, but this did not.) the refried beans were just tasteless paste. Very thin. The salsa that came with the chips in the beginning of the meal had virtually no heat, and didn't taste anything like tomatoes or red peppers, but was red. Vegetarian burrito: just disappointing. The rice and beans were stuffed inside, nothing served on the side. We are of the opinion that the food items were made fairly fresh with fresh product, but just simply had no flavor. I am usually concerned about high heat in Mexican food. No heat here. None at all. Boring AF. I recently spent a few years in Arizona, and my problem with most Mexican restaurants is that they are Americanized. Not this one. Just boring AF. And yes, worth saying that again. The TV was blaring some television show. Too loud. Service was so-so. So, we leave and decide to sit on the edge of the parking lot, retaining wall. Right by the Shell gas station. In pulls Mr. Softee. Yay!!! it was pallet saving! And I hate soft-serve.

It's tiny, with only enough space for about ten tables, so the atmosphere is super cozy. My son and I came here last night during Haddonfield's Friday night candlelight holiday shopping when all of Kings Highway was lit up and filled with carolers and shoppers. My son got the burrito de pescado ($15) and I got the enchiladas de carnitas ($20). Both were excellent and incredibly filling. They don't accept reservations so you'll have to show up and try your luck, and possibly put your name on a waitlist and wait for a call. Also, they will knock 10% off your bill if you pay in cash.

Coming from central jersey, we have been spoiled with amazing food from all cultures -- but ever since moving here we've had a hard time finding local places that are tasty and worth it. This will be our new place for sure. Can't wait to come back! It's located in the downtown area so after dinner you can walk straight to the local dessert shops. The waiter was also awesome!

I really wanted to like this place based on an extremely high recommendation. Unfortunately, the…read morefood and service didn't quite meet the expecations it was hyped up to be. I vascilated between 3 and 4 stars, so I'll instead provide a breakdown: Menu: 5 stars. The menus are easy to read, detailed, and organized. The menus aren't your standard laminated menus. They have a thick, very pretty, sturdy cover. They provide the prices for different meat options. I appreciate that many menu items can be or are gluten free. Ambience: 5 stars. I am a total sucker for supporting small, privately owned businesses! Bonus points for being immigrant/POC/Black-owned business! The restaurant was small but still with a good amount of wiggle room for dining in. Everything was clean and somewhat modern for what was described to me as "a hole in the wall" (in a good way), as I was expecting it to be a little dated and dingy. It wasn't. It was bright, cool, and airy. Service: 3-stars. service was mid. Our server didn't seem overly-excited to be there. He communicated well, but with very little friendliness or enthusiasm. I'd say, at best, his demeanor was neutral, and I can live with that, considering I've encountered a lot of times where people in the service industry act like they don't appreciate your business and are doing you a favor just by taking your order, smh. Food: 3.5 stars. Presentation was beautiful! Very well-done! Unfortunately, I found my tres moles enchiladas lacking that "pow" in taste that I love about mole. I also love my enchiladas drowned in mole sauce, especially eating with chicken breast, which can be a very mild/bland and dry meat. The chicken itself wasn't necessarily dry, but because it was chicken breast, and the feel of the dish was on the dry side. That being said, my fellow diners LOVED their dishes and said they'd come back again! Unfortunately, they don't provide reviews on Yelp, so I invite you to take my review as a grain of salt and try this restaurant out for yourself.
