The food was delicious. The service was great and we sat right on the river. It is a favorite place in the summer.

In the past I have truly enjoyed this place, but this weekend our food was a bit disappointing. We ordered the Roasted street corn dip appetizer($15) but sadly every tortilla chip that came with it was broken-must have been the end of the bag. They should serve scoop shaped tortillas. We didn't complain, but I wish I had said something to our server. Our cheese steak sandwiches were just alright. Our server was good-but overwhelmed. Waited a while to get drinks but the bar was busy. The beautiful day, vibe, and good music make up for the over-priced food and drinks. Don't know if I'll be back before they close in a few weeks-but I do enjoy the ambience that it has to offer. read more

What a fun place to dine. "Sitting on the dock of the bay...watching the"...well...boats roll in. Perfectly beautiful day with our party of eight for lunch. Good thing we got there at 11:30 otherwise we would not have gotten our great table on the lower deck, undercover next to the water. (They do not take reservations and prefer to seat when entire party arrives). Our table was ideal and truly sets an enjoyable atmosphere. Crazy that by 12:10 the place almost filled up. Our server Kim was right on. Quickly brought drinks, and everything was timely and friendly. Lots of good choices on the menu...changed my mind at least 10 times. Ended up with the fish and chips. Generous amount of fries and 4 nice size pieces of breaded cod. It was the right choice. It was very good, not the best I have ever had but still very good. The others had a variety of things...chicken salad sandwich which was a great choice, hot dog, pulled pork, chicken sandwich, and buffalo chicken wrap. Surprisingly the sandwiches did not come with a side or even a pickle. That was disappointing for the price. This was my first time here and I enjoyed it! Closes for the winter on Labor Day. I spent over $120 at Curtins one afternoon while waiting for a house showing to finish -- money I now deeply regret handing over. As a Black man sitting alone at your bar, I was apparently a spectacle. Without a white woman at my side to "validate" my presence, your all-white female staff and bartenders watched me with suspicion from the moment I arrived. After hours of peacefully eating and drinking, I reacted to my bill with a simple "Fuck!" -- a normal human reaction. Instantly, the mood changed. White patrons and staff suddenly acted terrified, like my mere presence was a threat to their safety. Let's call it what it is: blatant racial profiling and cowardice. You humiliated me, reduced me to a stereotype, and made it crystal clear that Black customers are not truly welcome at Curtins -- unless they conform to your narrow expectations of what's "safe" and "acceptable." You will never see another dime from me. I will also be sharing this experience far and wide to warn others exactly what kind of place you run. It's 2025. If you're still treating paying Black customers like dangerous intruders, you deserve to be called out and held accountable. read more

Service was great. The young lady who waited on us was super bubbly and energetic. Ambiance is lovely. It is situated directly on the dock so you get water flowing under you. Boats are docked nearby. Food can be hit or miss. I am a big fan of crab cakes, but the crab cake platter was 2 premade frozen patties, French fries and 5 carrots for $36. Menu stated baked potato. Canned beer was $7 and no drinking glass served with it. For that price we should have gotten chilled mugs. Jerk chicken platter was a large portion and very good. read more

Waterfront dining, if you consider a small inlet of the Delaware waterfront. Servers are all young girls, some of whom need their supervisor to tell them to dress more professionally. The food is mediocre at best. I expected more of a seafood selection but the menu is characteristic bar food. Lots of fried food. I opted for the chicken salad sandwich. It was so bland I needed to add salt. Didn't come with fries or any side. Wouldn't go again. read more

I haven't been here in a few years. The atmosphere and location on the Delaware River is unmatched in the area. Very relaxing, laid back. You can arrive by boat! Decent drink menu. I had the jersey salad with added shrimp. The grilled shrimp were good but cold. I'm used to restaurants serving them warm so caught me by surprise. They were juicy and cooked perfectly. The Krabby Dip with artichokes and spinach was really tasty! I tried a bite of the pulled pork burger special. The pulled pork was really dry. It was a huge sandwich - burger topped with pulled pork and onion rings. Others had the Buffalo bill burger special and no complaints! read more

Late Friday afternoon and the place was busy. The bar was full and I took the last empty seat. It was a middle- aged to older crowd, mostly couples, surrounded by shabby & dated decor. I would have preferred to sit on the patio and watch the boats on the river, than sit at the bar alone. $15 cocktails (8.50 during happy hour) are served in plastic cups. Food is managed separately and the bartenders have to call over a server to take your order. I didn't find something that sounded appetizing as the menu was very limited, had minimal healthy choices, and so I left. This area of town has very few restaurants and certainly not on the waterfront. Its location combined with having music on the weekends, would be a reason to return. However, the high prices, run-of-the-mill menu and drinks served in plastic cups all added up to a dull experience. I will look elsewhere to have drinks and entertainment this summer. read more

Time to break up with Curtin's wharf. It was a good 15 year run but time to move on. You can read my review from 9 years ago where I stated the food is not good and drinks are expensive but at least it used to be fun. The bartenders Gabby and Em were the best and even some of the bartenders that followed them were ok. However today was the final straw. My SO and arrive, at I guess was 3:55pm, with happy hour starting at 4pm. We order drinks thinking it was happy hour and then the bartender who was leaving asked us to cash out. When we saw that we didn't receive happy hour pricing she looked confused and said well my shift ends at 4pm so sorry. Ok guess it was my fault but stillI tipped her 20%. Now it is 4:15pm and we ordered hummus which is also on the happy hour menu. Since it is a separate check that you get when the food comes out, we look at it and again not happy hour pricing so she has to redo the bill. Still tipped 20%. I then ask the older veteran bartender if happy hour is a new thing (because the staff seemed confused) and she tells me no and they always have it during the week. I then explain to her about the drinks and the first words out of her mouth were 3:58 is 3:58 and the staff doesn't wear watches. Ok then guess my fault again. She did come back later and asked if I wanted another drink but didn't say free drink and then had the audacity to say something like to make up for the $2. Well it was more than $2 difference. So to end this long winded review, if you want lousy overpriced food, overpriced drinks with a bad pour and bad service go to Curtins. read more

This place was eh. Food & drink were pricey & nothing to write home to mom about. Service sucked. Ambiance on the deck & live band were decent. Location, not the greatest. Maybe they cant control location but it is off beaten path. Local area shows it. Rode right past entrance the 1st time. Marina view is decent. Deck & live band were cool. Band was a Spanish band playing, not my thing but they did a good job of getting their patrons out of their seat and dancing. Food & drink are overpriced. $13 for cocktails, the Cherry Kiss was ok-I've had better. I got pork roll sammich-unoriginal but I love pork roll soo....... Friend said couscous salad was good, once again pricey, $18!. Krabby dip was ok. Our server Kim (that's what it said on her necklace) was the worst. Took her about like 25 mins to finally come up to me and asked if I had been served yet. Then the whole night, we had to spend flagging her down to get things. we would run out of drinks then have to sit and wait til we saw her again. Clearly not on top of things and her tip we left her showed. She said there were no happy hour specials, but there were drink specials, ummmm ok, to each their own. 1 final note: WHEN SITTING AT HIGTOP TABLES AND THERE IS A BAND THAT COMES ON, THEY STOP SERVING FOOD TO THOSE TABLES AT A CERTAIN TIME! STUPIDEST THING I EVER HEARD. We came on a Friday night, and the band was set to come on @ 7, got there like 5:30ish, and not all girls in my party arrived yet. SO we were told this like 5:45 and if we wanted food we had to put it in by 6PM. Well we had to call our 1 gf and ask what she wnated to put in (we made an executive decision for her). So they will still serve drinks but not food. Utterly ridiculous! They must not want us to drink. .............and for that reason, I dont see myself going back EVER! read more

On a nice day, this space is great in scenery. The outdoor benches aren't the most comfortable, and every item on the menu (potato chips, etc) are a la cart . The menu is simple, nothing fancy. They do have specials. On the day we visited the one lunch special was already sold out by 1:00pm, so don't be surprised if they run out. They are a busy place. This place is situated beside Curtains Marina along the Delaware River. Outdoor dining experience with the bar centered on the deck. Most of the table are under cover and also tables with umbrellas. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Daily dinner specials. Jamaican jerk ribeye was delicious. Could also substitute with pork chops or chicken. Exotic drinks were amazing (orange crush, watermelon lemonade and rum runners). Also frozen pĩna colada. read more

First time there on Friday night. I loved the scenery and the laid-back vibe. There was a band playing. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She smiled, made eye contact, made us feel like we were family coming to have dinner at her home. But as nice as the scenery is, and waitresses were, I wish I could say the same about the food. We ordered fish and chips, the crab cake platter on the menu and the grilled salmon. My husband thought the crab cakes were dry, my guess is that they were not made from scratch. My son had the fish and chips. He could tell right away they were definitely frozen and not fresh. Patrons can tell when fresh fish is hand dipped. Hint- they don't look uniform in size and shape. I had the grilled salmon with bruschetta, and a rice couscous mixture that somehow got a little crisp, and looked burnt. The fish was cooked well enough, but the only seasoning was the bruschetta, and balsamic vinaigrette. The portion of fish looked as if it started out frozen. Why is that? Why should a subpar plate leave the kitchen? That shows to me that the owners may be relying on their regulars and the way service has always been handled as the basis of this establishment, and the thinking that it will sustain them year after year. it's such a shame that Curtain's is missing out on what could be a really great restaurant with just a few improvements in the quality of the dishes. Mainly, I wish they served serve fresh instead of previously frozen seafood, then have someone checking the dishes prior to leaving the kitchen. I am not a chef, and not a restaurateur. But I know how to make grilled salmon (fresh, not frozen) as well as fish and chips from fresh fish. As for the crab cakes, the only way I could think to make improvements on the dry taste (that my husband complained about after our meal) is to check the seasoning and use fresh crab. The owners should consider conducting a taste test or just a check on the kitchen to make sure that the quality of their food matched their prices, they could offer their guests a much better experience. Please consider getting rid of the frozen fish for a seafood restaurant. Please consider the opinions of your new or first time customers with whom you've got one chance to make a good impression, especially with food. Marginally good may mean even loosing your return customers for the price point. Unfortunately, my family won't be back. read more

Regardless of seat, you will experience the waterside breeze and sun (if you want it). Tables with umbrellas on the open deck. The food is always good with a nice mix of surf and turf. I've been coming here for several years. Great vibe on the Delaware river. Last Saturday 7/20/24,we had lunch there. Great atmosphere and great service but I feel the food has been slipping. My partner had fish and chips and they were exactly like Mrs Paul's. We were very surprised and he was disappointed since he was looking forward to freshly made fried fish. You get 2 stars for the view. This might actually be one of the most overpriced place I've ever been to. I'm talking vacation destination prices with the blandest food I have ever had. And the absolute nerve to charge $12 for a kids hotdog and fries. No drink. Just a dog and fries. And it's not on the menu. Drinks weak and expensive. Food completely tasteless. We didn't finish a single thing and took nothing home. And I'm usually a leftovers queen. This food was so bland nothing could revive it. Crab cake Sambo was falling apart and was nothing but filling inside. The Don was chewy and gross, the knockoff bang bang shrimp had a taste we couldn't even identify. Fries were even lifeless. Couldn't have more than 1 drink pp at the table, and service was slow (that first cold beer goes down fast after a long drive and we usually order 2 at first). Even though service was slow, we were def rushed it was weird. Plus side- jam band was pretty good and the ambiance is cool. Overall, you are paying for the experience/ambiance, NOT the food or drinks. Oh and you are driving through some shady neighborhood if you don't come by boat. I don't know how I didn't know this place existed before now, as I literally drive over the Burlington/ Bristol bridge EVERY SINGLE DAY, but I'm so grateful to my neighbor for suggesting this place for a post-work beer. On a beautiful day, this is the place to be. You're RIGHT on the Delaware - come by boat or car and grab a seat. While we didn't order any food, the few plates I saw (and smelled) were pretty noteworthy! The real draw to this place is the view. I mean, honestly - I snapped so many photos at sunset. The beer was cold, the live music was chill, and the crowd was relaxed. The way the moon, the sun, and the water bounced in unison with the nice breeze, Eagles football, and string lights - it was awesome. A little waterfront oasis in the middle of Jerz. The beer selection and pricing was average. Nothing too crazy, but a nice little variety. Bar staff seemed attentive enough without being overbearing. Despite living in an area with lots of water around it, there are comparatively few places where you can eat along the water, which is such a shame. Curtin's is synonymous with summer, only being open from Mothers' Day to Labor Day. There's just something so chill about watching the boats and the water while a gentle steel drum band plays. Usually a breeze even on the hottest days. Popular with the boating community who arrive by boat, gas up and get something to eat. We like to go for lunch and often bring the parents, who like the history as much as the view. Recognize the place for what it is. Don't go for dinner, don't order something fancy and you won't be disappointed. read more

Not during Covid - didn't mind the 45 minute wait. Great atmosphere but that's where it ended. Apps were decent - clams casino and bacon wrapped shrimp. Dinner was a disaster. We didn't order anything difficult. Fish and chips and fried shrimp platter. We are out of fries - ordered tots - we are out if tots - ordered onion rings- 15 minutes later they were out of onion rings. Settled for a Caesar salad with fried shrimp that is now in a to go container since I was afraid at this point to ask them to actually cook it. You'd be hard pressed to get me back here. We came to Curtin's from downstream. The other friendly boaters were helpful in suggesting a place to secure the boat. We did not arrive expecting something fancy and Curtan's was just fine. There were five in our party, they sat us within two minutes on a sunny Saturday. I enjoyed a local craft beer offering on draft from nearby Flying Fish. We all shared a fried appetizer that was nice. I got the special, a Pork roll, which I cannot gat at home. It was good. The view is nice. The service is fine. The best part of visiting Curtains is the view. It's gorgeous. The food and service is decent, especially at busy times. The kitchen steps up to get the food out fast. The reason I took away a star is because the owners decided to charge a usage fee for credit sales and do not tell you about it. I get that everyone is trying to keep up with inflation, but you need to tell people of any surcharges that will incur. This charge wasn't written on the menu or did the server mention it. Nice marina located in an area I'd never thought to explore. We rode the motorcycle on the back roads to get there. Anyway, the wait was a bit long (1 hour) but I'm really not complaining because it was a Sat night. Once seated our server provided us with beverages and took our order promptly. Our dinners came with a salad, which was a bland iceberg lettuce, 1 tomato and cucumber. Dinner was good though!
