After hearing so many great things about this place, "disappointing" doesn't even begin to cover it. The famous wings everyone raves about were genuinely bad. The sauce was off-putting, and the wings themselves had almost no meat on them...certainly not worth the hype. But the food wasn't even the most disappointing part. At 10:50 PM on a Friday night, while we were still eating, the staff began flipping chairs onto tables and cut the music off entirely. We were seated, served, and suddenly made to feel like a burden rather than paying customers. If you're not willing to accommodate guests until closing, don't seat them. Taking someone's money while rushing them out the door is just bad business. Save yourself the trip: this one did not live up to the reputation. read more

Went tonight for the "All you can eat wings". What a joke. More like "How much time do you want to waste waiting for wings" Got 10 to start then with the second & third round you got 4!! At least give 10 with the 2nd round, we're here to eat!! After that, it was anyone's guess if the waitress was even coming back at all, too busy talking to other customers!! Omg. I'm not from the area whatsoever, but I visit this area to see friends often enough. I have passed by more times than I can count and I wasted so many chances at a PHENOMENAL meal. My boyfriend and I finally decided to stop in and I said it right in the middle of the meal. BEST WINGS IVE EVER HAD. Without sauce, with sauce, the small ones, the large ones- every bite was amazing and literally left me speechless. We also tried the soul warming rice pudding which tasted like a bit of home. :) On top of the to-die-for wings, the staff was INCREDIBLY warm, friendly, welcoming and engaging in telling the story of the inn. There's definitely something genuine in the bones of this family owned place and it's felt through every moment of the experience there. There is no way I won't be back. My second visit to The Pic and I was not disappointed. I decided to get a small order of wings with bleu cheese along with a cheesesteak sandwich. My wife decided to try the BBQ sandwich with sweet potato fries. The wings were really quite good - just like the last time. My cheesesteak was quite tasty and my wife liked her sandwich. Our server was attentive, checking on us a number of times. We stopped in around noon and the place was filling up as we left. The building is undergoing major renovations and I look forward to seeing the finished product. Definitely a place to try! read more

GREAT crab bisque and Famous wings. We have had many sandwiches of all kinds at the Pic, and these sandwiches are accompanied with Fries that are served with a dipping sauce that is a warm, maple tasting syrup slather that is DIVINe!!!! The food was outstanding, We had buffalo wings with two different sauces. One being hot honey and second garlic Parmesan both very tasty. Not to hot but spicy. French Onion soup was delicious. Crap cheese soup was right on. The Chicken steak sandwich was very tender . The loaded french fries were delicious. The service was excellent our waitress definitely enjoyed working here and it showed. Very pleasant and courteous. The atmosphere was that of a rustic time period which this establishment goes back to the 1930s. They pictures on the wall displaying many generations of family members. I placed an order for pick up so I can't really tell you about the ambiance but it seemed clean and staff was friendly. Then I got home and looked at my wings....the picture says it all! Soooo many pin feathers! The wings are small and scrawny, and not seasoned. Any trained cook knows how to cut wings at the joint, these are cut through the bone, making them look unsightly!! Let me first begin by saying the staff is phenomenal with service and attention. With that being said, the food is on a constant downhill slope. With each successive visit, the food is getting worse and worse. I don't know why people claim the wings at Pics are so good. The wings at Pics are subpar at best. The Prime rib was actual good the first time I had it, then every subsequent order of Prime rib has gotten worse and worse...the crabcakes taste over-seasoned and my go to, the crab bisque, tasted like it had cheese the last time I went. Has been on the list to try as I have heard they are known for their wings. We were on our way to Atlantic City and thought it was a perfect opportunity to try it out. They have a pretty big parking lot in front and next to the building. It looks like they are currently under some construction but it is still open. We were sat in the dining room off to the side of the bar where there is a fireplace. Our server came over with menus and we told her it was our first time here. She explained the difference between the wings, tails and ears. She said the wings are the drums and flats still attached. The tails are more of a tender and the ears are more of a chicken breast. We ordered one order of wings and one order of tails. I went with hot sauce for the wings and hot and honey for the tails. An order of blue cheese and ranch dressing is extra along with celery and carrots. Our wings and tails came out but we waited and had to call the server over for the dressing and celery and carrots. You need that when eating the wings! Once we dug in, they were so good. Juicy, full of meat. I personally liked the wings better. I felt the tails were a little tough, but my boyfriend like the tails better. We got full super quick. We ended up taking half of everything home. Real good, would go again. Have been on a wing kick lately trying as many top wing places that have been recommended from the South Jersey Foodie group. Came for the wings and was left a little disappointed! First off... this place has a ton of other food options if you're not coming for the wings which is a huge plus. Their soups were advertised as made from scratch. Tried their crab soup which was delicious! They also had a baked potato and French onion soup that looked good as well. Had many different sauce options (no dry rub tho bummer) and many different quantities you can order for a fairly good price. Went with the garlic Parmesan and the Jim Bean Maple. Wanted to try the "smoker" but our server said those are their spiciest flavor they have, so didn't feel like it that day but I'm glad she told us lol. The wing came out as a whole wing, but oddly enough, it was small in size. I like that it's not breaded, but unfortunately, the flavor of the sauces was underwhelming. I couldn't tell the different between the sauces. Usually the garlic Parmesan flavor is very distinct, but they tasted the same. I also like my wings on the crispier side. So it's was just ok for me. Had the crab fries which were good! But of course having the cheese and crab toppings make the fries a little soggy. None the less, it tasted great! So I came for the wings, was disappointed but i did enjoy the crab soup and crab fries! Worth a try if you are in the area! But nothing to drive out of your way for! read more

Went there on a Thursday night it was kind of quiet around 6 o'clock time. Sat over by the fish tank since we had a two year-old with us that was fascinated by the fish two of us are regular there two of us are first timers. I find the servers are very friendly and accommodating, which a lot of restaurants lack anymore we were very happy with the meal and will be back and at the end of our meal, the manager came over and gave our two year-old a pic - a lilli shirt which we offered to pay for, but he wouldn't take any money. also, sorry I didn't get the waitresses name who waited on us, but I know that she's been there for a while. My boyfriend & I drive by here all the time on our way hiking, he said he stopped in there once a long time ago and wasn't impressed so we never stop. Well, a week before Christmas we were in the area and we decided to give it a go, I have 1 word...ICK. I wasn't expecting the wings to be a whole wing, maybe I should've read the menu a little bit better, I'll take the blame for that one..but we ordered two totally opposite end of the spectrum sauces and they tasted exactly the same...vile. I have known about Pic-A-Lilli for as long as I have known about Buffalo wings, but I have never found myself in Shamong until now. It was worth the wait. Talk about old school, this place serves wings. Not legs. Just wings. Every wing is identically meaty with the full wing (three bones and a joint). It's like Pic-A-Lilli feels the responsbility to continue to define the standard for chicken wings. The sauce - perfect. I don't know how they do it, but the Smoking sauce is the exact amount of heat I like in my sauce. And it's got a very good flavor to it, not just straight blazing heat. They'll give you other sauces to combine or try on the side. The platter comes with excellent fries, plenty of celery and two bleu cheese dips - one for the celery, one for the wings/your tongue after four Smoking wings. Again, this is the standard every wing place needs to live up to. During COVID times, the beer selection was sparse, but they had three on tap and none of them were generic. That's plus. *Review during Covid Time* Really 3.5 Since I've moved to NJ, I've heard nothing but how huge and amazing the wings are here, so this place had been on my radar for awhile. We chose it as only the second sit down meal we've had at a restaurant in many many months. So please take this into account - my review is probably tarred by Covid restrictions. I will say this - they have done an amazing job adapting outdoor dining to the new standards, and for that, they get every possible star. Great signage. Hand sanitizers. Disposable menus. Great job! Service - though friendly, we didn't get get checked back on. We never got the chance to get refills on drinks. I finally asked for water, but it wasn't delivered until I was nearly done my meal. I never got the chance to ask for ranch or blue cheese dressing for the wings - come to think of it, I didn't know it didn't automatically come with my order. The server at the table next to us told the guests there, but I guess ours forgot to mention it. I asked for a separate check - the server forgot. Pricing - on the high side. $9 for a side of onion rings? They were very good, by the way, just expensive. The wings - What happened? I'd heard so much about how fat and huge the wings here, was pre-warned they didn't come separated and were served jointed, and when they landed in front of me, I actually did a double-take. They were very small, small enough that their bones fit comfortably in a tiny condiment container. See pic. I gotta believe that their supply chain may have been affected by the Pandemic. The servers seemed very busy, and I don't fault them for working under difficult conditions - it was crazy hot and they were working under stressful situations.
