Tony Bruno wings

We went to lunch yesterday to try the pulled pork to see if I should order it for an upcoming event. I was not disappointed and ended up ordering a full try of pulled pork for the event.

I am not happy with the sauce.

It's that time again, time to eat chicken wings. Service remains OK with the occasional difficulty due to the high noise level inside. It remains beat up indoors. There is a TV for every possible viewing angle but you can't hear them due to the dull roar of the sound system blasting out golden oldies. You can't hear your companions but I was forcibly eavesdropping on the next table over. Not a great conversational setting. As usual we ordered wings. Plain fried wings. That's what these guys are known for and deviating is its own punishment. The sauce has changed and not for the better. All of the sauces - mild, med, had a layer of oil an inch thick. The oil wasn't hot just oily. Things improved dramatically when I poured off the oil layer and I could actually dip the wing in the buffalo sauce. Once cleaned up, the sauce wasn't bad. But who ever came up with this new sauce deserves to be marinated in it until the struggling stops. I suggested folks should just show up with a bottle of Franks buffalo wings sauce and there wasn't a peep of disagreement. Finally we ordered every one of the sauces and got one that didn't have the oily layer. Finally. The wings themselves were fried really crispy. Very nice. You have to order the celery sticks separately. The beer selection was unappealing and I settled for a Diet Coke instead. Try to show up for happy hour. You don't need to pay full price if this is what you get. The parking lot was only half full but it appears every one tries to turn right to park cuz all the empty spots were on your left.

Great wings Hot crispy and very tasty!!!!!

Decided to come for dinner last night as my boyfriend wanted to try their wings. Got there around 6:30. No problem being seated. Our waitress was great! We enjoyed some cold beers. My boyfriend ordered the garlic buffalo wings and fries. I ordered a caesar salad with buffalo grilled chicken breast. Everything was good and fresh! I am a buffalo person-I could put buffalo sauce on almost everything. That garlic buffalo sauce was incredible! I was dipping fries in it to get more of it! We will be back!

Perfectly cooked wings

French onion soup was delicious. One of the best I had in a long time. The wings were cooked perfectly the sauce was okay, it was a garlic bbq and something else

Got a chance to check out the Jug Handle with my buddies Eric and Aaron. I've heard many people have many different opinions of this spot so I knew I had to go and find out for myself. Got some Carolina Buffalo BBQ wings, some Tony Bruno wings, and a side of the Bald Eagle (their spiciest sauce) sauce on the side to dip into. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The dining room was pretty much just a basic bar/restaurant dining room but they do have outdoor seating during nice weather and a basement seating area as well. The Tony Bruno wings are a blend of Honey BBQ and Medium garlic so they are very similar to a Mchales/Buffacue sauce with some added garlic flavor. I knew I'd enjoy this sauce just from the description. The wings were massive and they were breaded wings. They were crunchy for breaded wings (I often find breaded wings to get soggy in sauce and not have much crunch) and I enjoyed these, but I will say that I do honestly prefer a smaller wing...even if that sounds crazy. Smaller wings in my opinion are able to have a nice crunch in each bite and the center of the wing cooks to a nicer consistency than when they are very large. The Carolina Buffalo BBQ was interesting and not exactly what I expected. I did find these to have good flavor but I was kind of expecting a Carolina mustard and hot sauce blend and it was more of a BBQ/buffalo which made it similar in flavor minus the honey to the Tony Bruno. They looked as though they'd have a mustard flavor but it got lost in the other flavors of this sauce. I don't think I personally would get this flavor again just for that reason, but I didn't dislike them. The Bald Eagle is hot. There's really all there is to that. It smelled like straight super hots and it tasted like super hots. That is where my time with the Bald Eagle starts and ends haha. Price was a bit more than I expected but wings these days are through the roof anywhere you go. The Jug Handle Inn - Didn't Suck! Met up with friends at the Jughandle Inn -- first time back since my 20s, and it's pretty much how I remembered it. We went on a Friday night and it was packed with loud music and that classic "town bar" vibe, even though it's off on the outskirts by a major NJ highway. We ordered two sets of wings (garlic parmesan and honey hot), and they were fantastic -- big, meaty, full of flavor, and they leave the tips on. A little pricey but worth it. Good beer selection too, with local brews alongside classics like Miller Lite and Coors Light. I also tried the Italian chicken sandwich, loaded with diced chicken, spinach, and melted cheese on a toasted roll. You can choose chips or upgrade to fries or tots. The sweet potato fries with honey (or honey hot) dip were excellent. Only downside: you aren't assigned a dedicated server, so we found ourselves getting overlooked at times when trying to order drinks or get refills. Between the crowd and loud music, I felt like I was yelling all night. Still, the staff is friendly and the food is great.

Cheesesteak Cheese Steak Egg Rolls (handmade and huge)! I already ate one

Eh. sorry. I don't get the hype? Crowded, drinks with barely any booze in them, overcooked food, breaded wings (yuk), and not enough servers/bartenders to handle a busy day. You all can have it. Bartenders were nice hence the 3 stars.

A wing that is so burnt the meat was tough

Prior to going I looked up their beer list on Untappd and was overwhelmed by the beer selection. Unfortunately (but fortunately because it made my beer selection decisions much easier) many of the craft beers listed were sold in cans. The beers on the numbered list on Untappd are the beers available on tap (all other beers listed are in cans or bottles). They still had a nice variety of craft beers on tap and I really enjoyed the few I tried. They seemed a bit pricey though and even the lower ABV beers were served in smaller glasses. We got two seats at the bar around 6:30 on a Friday night. All night people were coming and going and there was nobody really standing around waiting for bar seats for too long. The bartender was nice and he was the only one working when we first arrived but after a bit there were multiple people behind the bar. It definitely felt divey inside. My dad said the bar top was the same bar top from years and years ago when he used to come here when he was my age. We split wings with medium Buffalo sauce and cheesesteak fries. I frequently see Jay's wings mentioned on SJFS and for good reason. They were top notch and I'd come back just for the wings. They might even be at the very top of my wing list (although I'd try a different sauce next time). Incredibly crispy and weren't chewy whatsoever. The cheesesteak fries (cheesesteak served over a bed of waffle fries were also surprisingly good. While at Top Golf earlier in the week our bay host recommended them and advised all the food at Jay's is very good. I wasn't expecting to spend $100+ at a dive bar between two of us but the experience was very good. If I lived a little closer I would definitely be there all the time. Even though the beer list is good I'd probably stick with drinking a domestic draft or bottle the next time I go to avoid spending as much as we did on smaller glasses of craft beer. I will definitely be back and will be looking forward to trying more menu items in the future.

For the main dish, this time I ordered the 20oz bone in ribeye, which was excellent. The only complaint I'd have was that the broccoli was a bit off and I had to leave them on the dish. The mashed potatoes were very good. The "steak sauce" wasn't needed and taste-wise it probably won't be for everyone anyway. Located in the Moorestown Mall, you don't need to go into the mall as Yard House has its own entrance. There is plenty of parking in the lots. The atmosphere inside was nice and relaxing and the music was good - this was mid afternoon, so it's likely the music changes for the evening. There is a choice of sitting outside or inside - we chose inside at a booth. As mentioned this is in the Moorestown Mall, so there's plenty of parking available. I ordered the halibut, asked my server about the "seasonal veggies" it comes with (she mentioned asparagus, okay good) because I do love veggies, but there are some I just really do not. Unfortunately, those exact veggies arrived on the plate, and my entree looked more like stir fry. I don't like onions or peppers ... and they were the base veggie of the dish. The menu describes the "sauce" as a lemon citronette, and this dish was not at all what I was expecting. It lacked flavor, there was no sauce, not a hint of lemon (I even squeezed some on there & it didnt help :( ) I can get past some vegetables I don't eat, just pushed them to the side, but the halibut was so so so incredibly dry. It wasn't soft, or flakey, or moist. (I hate that word but it was the best way to describe what it lacked) It was like cardboard. I was trying to choke it down because I too, had just worked a serving shift for Mothers Day, & it was the first thing I was eating all day. My husband mentioned something to the server because he knew I wouldn't haha, I don't like to be a pain customer or send things back.
