this cute, updated diner had lots of potential, but kind of missed the mark. there were many trendy offerings, like avocado toast and meatless meat and tofu scrambles, along with classic breakfast fare. Upon arrival we stood waiting with multiple other parties while the host stood at a table chatting. Once we got seated, our server asked for our drink order, brought the coffees, and said she'd be back. We took the time to peruse the menu. I ordered a hearty cheesy grits bowl, and hubby ordered a greek scramble. The food arrived in a timely manner, but was not very hot. Nevertheless we ate and enjoyed it. The house made bread was especially good. Fortunately another server came by to give us a coffee refill as our original one never came back. After we finished she did return to drop off the check. Seems like they just need a little tightening up.

Hands down the biggest and tastiest selection of food in Westmont. We go twice a week. If it's winter get the chicken pot pie. It's indescribable. Your mind will be blown. Everything is top shelf- from the service to the food. It feels like home.

Solid South Jersey diner located in the old Crystal Lake Diner. I live and work very close by and I make it here a few times a year, usually for breakfast. Always an excellent experience. Came here last week for breakfast on a Thursday morning and ordered the eggs Benedict with avocado and tomato, which was cooked perfectly. Couldn't have asked for a better meal. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The whole menu is classic NJ diner: tons of breakfast options, sandwiches, comfort foods, etc. None of it gourmet or award winning but always well made and for excellent prices. All in a clean and brightly lit restaurant. Sadly they are not open 24 hours anymore, but they do open at 6am which is great for early birds like me.

This place has really improved over the years. I went when ownership first changed from Crystal Lake to Westmont and I thought it was just ok - nothing terribly exciting. Been back twice this summer and it's one of the better diners in the area in my opinion. Their menu has some great options and the portions are pretty generous. Last trip I ordered the salmon omelet with feta, capers and onions - a tad salty but I enjoyed it a ton. Our server was sweet and attentive.

I am a woman who doesn't need much when it comes to food. I barely need to look at the menu when I know there's eggs benedict. This eggs benedict (southwest eggs benedict) was on a corn muffin and intrigued me. It was a great choice. A bit on the drier side and light on the hollandaise sauce but I personally loved the sweetness from the corn muffin that you typically don't see with egg benedict's. My boyfriend got the grilled caprese sandwich that came with fig jam. Not his usual choice but he loved it as well. The food hit the spot and the diner is so nice! Great place :)

Service is trash... food might have been good if it wasn't cold. Won't go back. Manager couldn't care less, what a shame.

No. It is simply a reliable hearth for hungry souls who adore breakfast food, lunch food, and dinner food in equal measure. And it is my dear mother's favorite diner in the area, which feels like a credential earned through decades of careful eating and limited dietary options thanks to a gallbladder that decided it had seen enough of this world. Service here approaches that shining ideal of Americana. The wait staff seem genuinely invested in your continued existence, keeping coffee cups filled and orders moving with calm efficiency. You are not rushed, forgotten, or treated like an inconvenience. You are treated like someone who came in hungry and intends to leave better than you arrived. The food is dependable in the most comforting sense of the word. The menu is typically Jersey diner broad and familiar, offering breakfast all day, sturdy sandwiches, omelets that know what they are doing, and classic diner dinners that arrive hot and generous. I've had the meatloaf with mushroom gravy, the French onion soup, the prime rib, and the French toast. Nothing is fancy or experimental. Nothing is trying to impress you. It simply aims to be good, and usually succeeds. The dining room itself is clean and comfortable, with the reassuring atmosphere of a place that has seen many regulars come and go and remembers them kindly. Families, couples, and solo diners all seem equally at home. You can order chicken croquettes or a country omelette and know exactly what you are going to get, which is a small but meaningful luxury in a world that so often overpromises and underdelivers. So I give the Black Horse Diner four stars. Not because it is extraordinary, but because it is steady, sincere, and reliably satisfying. Sometimes a solid meal served by capable people in a place that knows itself is more than enough.

Strong start. I ordered one of the mini meals. I really loved the cream of mushroom soup of the day. Deep flavor and a nice complement of mushrooms, better than usual. The initial appetizers with the mini meals came out right away. I would say an average wait time for dinner. And the food? My chicken croquette tasted almost like lobster. Plenty of sauce to dip the beans. I tried my friend's fries and those are also outstanding. Excellent meal through and through. And mini meals include a dessert! Homemade pudding - tapioca is delicious. Highly recommend. I'm not a diner guru, but this hit every angle I'd want. Come check it out!

The kind of delicious that makes you pause mid-bite and smile. Everything tasted like home--like your mom or grandmom was in the kitchen, apron on, seasoning from the soul. We had the mac and cheese, potato salad, and cabbage, and everything delivered comfort, warmth, and love. And listen... Mom has already requested a return trip, which should tell you everything you need to know. Cuz my Momma don't play about her food. Value for the Price Let's face it soul food aint cheap. Plus, you're not just paying for food--you're paying for an experience that feeds your spirit as much as your stomach. Cleanliness The space was clean, well-kept, and inviting. Cozy without feeling cramped, and comfortable in a way that makes you want to sit, eat, and take it all in. Customer Service Warm. Friendly. Genuine. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. And the highlight? Meeting the owner, Ms. Corinne herself. She and my mom talked like they were old friends catching up, which honestly felt very on-brand for this place. Wait Time & Convenience No issues here. Parking is street parking--very similar to parking on a busy Philly street, so nothing shocking or stressful if you're used to city life. Once inside, everything flowed smoothly. We were seated quickly. Presentation & Atmosphere The atmosphere is intimate, cozy, and full of history. Pictures line the walls--Ms. Corinne, her family, and famous faces--which makes the space feel personal and lived-in. It's the kind of place where stories live in the walls. Red Flags or Warnings No real red flags. Just know it's an intimate setting--not huge--but honestly, anyone can come in and enjoy it comfortably. Overall: Corinne's Place is more than a restaurant--it's a memory, a feeling, and a reminder of what good food is supposed to do. It fills you up, warms you, and makes you want to come back. My stamp on this place is... "Mass appeal." Perfect for family, solo visits, out-of-town guests, or anyone craving a real taste of home.

I was so happy that we were going to a diner this late at night - it brought back so many great memories of a younger me! I had the best mozzarella sticks that I have ever had. They were packed with cheese and not greasy at all. I also had 2 cups of decaf coffee since it was so late at night (for caffeine). Our young male server, Evran, was so nice, courteous and attentive. My "Sir" got a really nice looking breakfast platter. He enjoyed it very much, and took half of it home for the next day. Did I mention their sweet portion sizes?! I am a big sweets and chocolate lover and was all but drooling over their bakery case with some glorious looking cakes and cheesecakes. (Really beautiful!) I think I'm going to go back here 1) - for dinner, 2) - for dessert only. I cannot believe that this diner wasn't on my radar before last - a true bad on my foodie part! I ordered the Texas Burger (cheddar, bacon, BBQ sauce), but we need to talk about the caramelized onions. They were absolutely delicious--sweet, savory, and cooked to perfection.
