The Cranberry juice was watered down which had me nervous for the food... but the Green bean sauce was very well flavored! The green bean Texture was great and so was the battering! 10/10 would get again! I also got the apple cinnamon Pancakes and they were so good! Thick and fluffy without being doughy, which is very rare. They were Filling. The Apples were amazing . Not distractedly appley but still reminiscent of apples. Perfect level of cinnamon. A very balanced apple cinnamon pancake! Def better than average imo. I was Not a fan of the hash browns. They were Too mushy at the bottom and too crunchy on the top. Not a fan There's definitely a lot of potential. If I didn't get the cranberry juice or hash browns the rating probably would have been higher. But mid hashbrowns at a diner is insane. I had a veggie panini with so little veggies, I couldn't taste them. The description said that it has zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms and roasted peppers. There was ONE slice of a small circle of zucchini, no roasted peppers, no eggplant, one slice of mushroom and a slice of spinach. That's it! And I had to pay $17! Easy 5 stars. I live in the area and have been a few times over the years. If you're looking for a great Jersey diner, this is it. I was most recently here on a Saturday night around 6:30. Was seated right away. Our waitress was super friendly, warm and welcoming. She told us the kitchen was a little backed up and there might be a wait for our food but it only took about twenty minutes. My son ordered the Mac and cheese from the kids menu and loved it, and I appreciated that it was real Mac and cheese and not just from a box like we've found in other restaurants. I got the patty melt, and I can easily say this was the greatest patty melt I've ever had in my life. Perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, swimming in perfectly melted and gloopy mushrooms, onions, and Swiss cheese. There is nothing quite like hearty diner comfort food that just touches the soul. BYOB and can provide wine glasses if you bring a bottle of wine. Not open 24 hours, but at least open until midnight if you need a a late night fix. They have some unique things ontheir menu compared to other diners. I went in knowing what I wanted to order but was definitely surprised by the choices. I decided on the green eggs and ham crepes. The actually crepe had a really nice flavor. This had scrambled eggs, ham, Swiss and avocado inside. You get two filled crepes. It was so filling! The only thing I would do differently is asking for the hollandaise sauce on the side. They put a lot on top and it was overpowering. The sauce itself was delicious but that's really all i tasted. read more

Just paid 15.00 for a BLT on white toast. I just ordered without looking at price which is my fault. I just realized I cannot afford to eat at the local diner. Shame. And 4 bucks for a soda of which I drank half. Apparently refills are free. Well I for one would like a choice Mr Legacy, perhaps a $2 one-time soda or a $4 soda with unlimited refills but a $4 one-time soda mostly ice is not OK. I am not a soda drinker and would never have the appetite for more than one. So again sir, a choice would be nice. I approached Mr Legacy about the price gouging but he defended his prices saying everything is costly. True, but his look of unease or embarrassment when he said that made me feel that perhaps he knew I was right. Who knows. Won't be back and told him so. The sandwich itself was hardly worth the money. Too overpacked and the bacon was too hard. The fries were enough for several people. I think I ate 4 of them. No wonder we are all so overweight. It's the best diner I've ever been to and the food was so beautiful in flavors. We waited about 30-45 minutes for 2 burgers and an omelette. Way overpriced. We were charged $2 for cheese on an already $12 omelette (still an incredibly dry omelette with the cheese put in, I suspect only a slice or two was used), a small glass of chocolate milk is $5. We were charged for onions as an add on to the omelette, but weren't even put into the omelette! They brought it out on the side and asked if it was okay! The cheese for the burgers were melted on the bun instead of the burger, we ordered them well and medium. They got the well part done, but the medium was the rarest medium I've ever seen. When the pricing was brought up to the owner or MOD, "It's a restaurant, sorry." It's a diner. Get over yourself. We were hungry so we didn't oblige to have anything dealt with, but incredibly overpriced for mediocre food and unprofessional service, from the top down. I've always liked this place but I'm not sure what happened today. I ordered a breakfast skillet and there were hard white pieces of fat like crumbles throughout the meal. Eggs were cold as were my husbands. Chef stated that the hard items were pieces of cheese but the pieces couldn't even be cut in half with a fork? Refused to give us a full refund on my meal. The Legacy Diner has a decent selection of meals that are served up in a timely fashion by their friendly wait staff. They setup outside seating with umbrellas in front of the diner during the pandemic, which was a great option for those wanting a meal out of the house but not quite ready to venture inside. Recently due to limited staffing they have not used the outside seating area unfortunately. All in all you can get a decent meal at a fair price, friendly staff, and they have a private parking lot available. read more

Decided to give a different local diner a try. While the diner meal was good, It offers similar dishes on the menu compared to other local diners. They did not have sourdough bread, that's not surprising since they do not seem to bake their own grains here. Westmont diner has fresh breads and bread take out. I would also say the coffee was a bit watery. I also did not notice a fresh juicer for orange juice. I would recommend the Westmont diner over Legacy. read more

The Legacy Diner is a surprisingly large diner located in Audubon, NJ. Even with a busy Saturday morning crowd we were quickly seated. Legacy's interior is very nice and modern. Menu is extensive, but is confusingly laid out at times, especially if you want to add items. Our table ordered a variety of items. The French toast was huge and the pork roll was good. Bacon was also good, and the hash browns here are that in between style, not whole potatoes, but slightly chopped up. Biggest issue with Legacy is the price; it's expensive for diner food. Legacy is about a 3.5 due to the price, but I round up to a 4. Good overall experience but expensive. read more

This has been our go to diner lately. Service is good and the food is really tasty. Each time I come I get the chicken parm. It is so good. Portion size is large and I really enjoy it. I highly recommend this diner. The staff is so nice The pies and cakes look delicious. Haven't had the chance to try them yet because we are always too full but the cheesecakes caught our eye on the way out tonight so next time it's a must! Very disappointed in my dining experience. I decided to eat here alone for a Sunday breakfast and it was horrible. The server was catering to all the tables but mines. When I sat down, it took extremely long to receive service. Understandably, I know it was a Sunday morning-- but the family who sat down after me was asked by the sever for their beverage/meal in a less amount of time. The server at the counter seen that I did not have anything on my table and kindly put in my order for a hot chocolate. Finally, my sever came to my table unfriendly and took my order. I had a few questions about the menu and she was not helpful at all. When I received my breakfast -- she never came back to ask if I needed anything else. It's apparent that there's a lot of regulars that come to this diner, which is great! Someone like myself who was passing by did not receive the same quality of service as others nearby. Just different. The breakfast potatoes were good. The youngest diner ordered a waffle and a side of bacon, which unfortunately came undercooked and limp. A miss for sure. You'll be treated to a quintessential Jersey diner meal when you come here. Their menu is basically a novella of food choices, but the super friendly servers give you time to peruse. Since it was my first visit and later in the day, I opted for the chicken salad club and added bacon. I also requested a side salad but ended up swapping with my mom for her chicken pasta soup thanks to a lingering cold. I did try a couple bites of the salad and that was good, but the soup was far superior. My chicken salad club was so huge that the accompanying fries had to be placed on a separate plate. Now. I'm really particular about my chicken salad, especially when it comes from a diner. For many moons, I've solely relied on nearby Westmont Diner for my fix, but this spot is absolutely a close second. My only qualm? The toast was a bit burnt, but I was able to eat around it. The menu is extensive - so many choices! We've had several different types of food while here and everything we've had so far over the past few years has been very good and consistent. The Legacy is always very, very clean and comfortable. Service is good and friendly as well. Our most recent visit was great as usual. I had an omelet with really good home fries and the hubs had a grilled chicken dinner. We both enjoyed our meals and had no room for dessert, which is a shame because they have beautiful desserts in the front showcase and terrific rice pudding in the fridge!
