Mac and cheese from the kids menu.
    Scott P.

Easy 5 stars. I live in the area and have been a few times over the years. If you're looking for a great Jersey diner, this is it. I was most recently here on a Saturday night around 6:30. Was seated right away. Our waitress was super friendly, warm and welcoming. She told us the kitchen was a little backed up and there might be a wait for our food but it only took about twenty minutes. My son ordered the Mac and cheese from the kids menu and loved it, and I appreciated that it was real Mac and cheese and not just from a box like we've found in other restaurants. I got the patty melt, and I can easily say this was the greatest patty melt I've ever had in my life. Perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, swimming in perfectly melted and gloopy mushrooms, onions, and Swiss cheese. There is nothing quite like hearty diner comfort food that just touches the soul. BYOB and can provide wine glasses if you bring a bottle of wine. Not open 24 hours, but at least open until midnight if you need a a late night fix. This place is warm, inviting, filled with friendly staff and customers, like stepping into a slice of Americana.

The food was delicious, the server was attentive and very personable. Ambience was perfect for a diner. Will definitely be returning

Denise is a mind reader!! Such wonderful service ON Thanksgiving day and an unforgettable warmth that we were hoping for. Legacy Diner sets a new bar for diners for me. It's the best diner I've ever been to and the food was so beautiful in flavors. More than that... the decor was unforgettable and the parking was easy, the bathrooms were clean, and the the environment was very family and friends, casual and comfortable. I am so THANKFUL for this spot and I plan to, like Denise said, come back and get more!!!

REALLY REALLY GOOD FOOD !!! I wanted a different diner for a change. I hadn't been here in probably ten years. I recall how good their chicken gyros were. Tonight I had crab cakes and a salad. Really yummy - no filler. The man, a chicken cheese steak that he LOVED! Not crappy chicken and a super soft roll. He had my sides - string beans that he flipped for! Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. We will absolutely be returning!!!

The Legacy Diner has a decent selection of meals that are served up in a timely fashion by their friendly wait staff. They setup outside seating with umbrellas in front of the diner during the pandemic, which was a great option for those wanting a meal out of the house but not quite ready to venture inside. Recently due to limited staffing they have not used the outside seating area unfortunately. All in all you can get a decent meal at a fair price, friendly staff, and they have a private parking lot available.

Decided to give a different local diner a try. While the diner meal was good, It offers similar dishes on the menu compared to other local diners. They did not have sourdough bread, that's not surprising since they do not seem to bake their own grains here. Westmont diner has fresh breads and bread take out. I would also say the coffee was a bit watery. I also did not notice a fresh juicer for orange juice. I would recommend the Westmont diner over Legacy.

The decor is cheesy Italian faux live walls and Italian music. We stayed with the fried mozzarella and the fried calamari with long hots (that weren't long hots) which was the recommendation of the waiter Lucas. The were good but extremely greasy. They were served on a paper doily that was fully saturated in grease. The flavor was good but the greasiness was off putting. We had two entrees the standard chicken Parmesan and a special which was clams and spaghetti with Calabrian chilis. The clams and spaghetti wasn't terrible but definitely not spicy as we had hoped. The chicken parm was non memorable pasta was cold and under sauced. We also had the broccoli rabe which was good . We wanted to try the tiramisu but they were out of the dessert. The service was ok - I say that because the guys were awkward like didn't know how to interact. Was on the slower side. Greasy food and cold pasta . Meh not my go to! 110.00 for two all in with tip. I stuck with my usual two eggs, which were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. My fiancée ordered the Pretty Toast, their take on French toast, topped with cream cheese, pecans, and sweetened peaches. It honestly reminded me of peach cobbler! When I saw her plate, my jaw dropped--I was instantly jealous! She let me steal a couple of bites, and it was absolutely delicious. It's one of those dishes you could enjoy for breakfast, brunch, or even as a sweet snack. The food was a solid 10/10. Our server, Ben, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. He took the time to tell us a little about the menu and even suggested we try something different. Looking back... I probably should have listened! The atmosphere was clean, cozy, and inviting. It honestly felt like sitting in your nonna's kitchen--warm, comfortable, and full of charm. We can't wait to come back and work our way through the dinner menu. She gave me a recommendation and tried their cheesesteak sandwich. I was very satisfied with the results. Matt did an excellent job cooking. Everything was well blended together, and the roll was nice and crispy too. Perfect amount of cheese to steak ratio, and the onions were fried just right. I would totally go back here again, the service and the food alone was totally worth it. We ordered through Grubhub (they are not available on DoorDash), and the food arrived quickly and was bagged up nicely. The cheesesteak I ordered from their regular menu didn't seem to have much to it. The steak flavor was okay and the roll was super soft, but there just wasn't enough filling to justify the price, especially when you can find $18 cheesesteaks elsewhere that are absolutely packed. The hot and honey chicken cheesesteak had a tasty flavor and the sauce they use is spot on for that style of sandwich, but it still felt a little light on overall fullness. The fries weren't anything special, and some were sadly still cold and not salted. The poppers definitely seemed frozen and undercooked since you could still see the cheese inside separating instead of fully melted. Sadly, this either wasn't our moment to order from Champs or this is just the way they do things. Maybe we will circle back another time to give this Philly sports bar a second shot.

The food took forever, which it usually does but we still go since we normally like the breakfast food. The burrito finally arrived after 30 minutes. The tacos my husband ordered took another 10 minutes. My husband was less than thrilled with flavorless soft tacos that took 40 minutes to make. We decided to provide feedback because we've been here many times and expected more. Again, we regretted this as well. I don't know why we bothered because no one knows how to take honest feedback anymore these days. The young boy who portrayed himself as the manager (was in fact the busboy) was dismissive and but did offer refund, which we declined since that's not the reason we provided feedback. He couldn't handle someone trying to tell them how to improve instead of asking for something for free. It's crazy how someone doesn't want money is still treated as difficult. Then my husband takes the time from his day to speak with owner. He thought he had a constructive conversation, only to find the owner goes straight into his kitchen in front of customers and tells the young boy what my husband said. So unprofessional! They have an open kitchen and this guy thinks it's a good idea to speak with your employee now??? Little did they know while they were trash talking my husband, instead of appreciating the fact that he wasn't asking for money and only wanted gave valuable constructive feedback from repeated customers, that they all chose to turn it around and call my husband a jerk. I did call out that they need to be more careful about how they speak about customers and it was quite interesting to see an entire kitchen and at least 5 customers in line speechless and in shock! As they should have been. Like the rest of society these days, no one knows how to behave and be professional anymore. I'm beyond embarrassed for the owner and anyone affiliated with this restaurant. Just downright pathetic!
