How did eight years pass since we last stepped foot in this diner? Judging by the menu prices, it's definitely been a long time! This is your classic diner - huge menu, a waitress that calls you hon, hot coffee on the ready. I opted for the Mexi-Cali sizzling skillet. DEEEEELISH. A layer of cubed breakfast potatoes, black beans, avocado, peppers, onions, chorizo, cheese, jalapenos, pico de gallo. MMMM, so much flavor. It came with 2 slices of bread. read more

I had a hankering for pancakes. Luckily we swung into the large parking lot and scored a table immediately. Large heap of pancakes with a side of extra crisp bacon arrived shortly. Along with frequently filled cups of coffee, I enjoyed this meal. Service was friendly and portions were large for everyone at the table. read more

Service and portions are phenomenal. Prices have indeed risen throughout the years but you can get a hearty sandwich with soup and fries for $15-20 still. I tried their chicken noodle soup and shrimp bisque which were amazing. If anything the shrimp bisque may have been a tad salty for my taste. Both taste great with crackers. As for the prime rib dip sandwich, the dip was amazing but with a lot of bread. I think the bread could have been buttered or slightly toasted with a sauce to taste even better. The diner is fairly old fashioned but ironically was playing the World Cup games. You pay at the front cashier and they ask you whether/how much you'd like to tip your server. Plenty of parking in their lot. It wasn't busy at all on a Saturday early afternoon. read more

The Cranberry juice was watered down which had me nervous for the food... but the Green bean sauce was very well flavored! The green bean Texture was great and so was the battering! 10/10 would get again! I also got the apple cinnamon Pancakes and they were so good! Thick and fluffy without being doughy, which is very rare. They were Filling. The Apples were amazing . Not distractedly appley but still reminiscent of apples. Perfect level of cinnamon. A very balanced apple cinnamon pancake! Def better than average imo. I was Not a fan of the hash browns. They were Too mushy at the bottom and too crunchy on the top. Not a fan There's definitely a lot of potential. If I didn't get the cranberry juice or hash browns the rating probably would have been higher. But mid hashbrowns at a diner is insane. I'd still come again and try different things though. I think you just have to know what to order read more

We took two of our grandchildren here this morning. Food was delicious and the service was great. Highly recommend.

Stopped here for a quick dinner with family, and had a lovely experience. Service was great - friendly and quick! The food was great - the gyro was terrific, and the crab cake sandwich was quite nice. If you're looking for a fun, casual, comfortable diner experience, Legacy is great! read more

Easy 5 stars. I live in the area and have been a few times over the years. If you're looking for a great Jersey diner, this is it. I was most recently here on a Saturday night around 6:30. Was seated right away. Our waitress was super friendly, warm and welcoming. She told us the kitchen was a little backed up and there might be a wait for our food but it only took about twenty minutes. My son ordered the Mac and cheese from the kids menu and loved it, and I appreciated that it was real Mac and cheese and not just from a box like we've found in other restaurants. I got the patty melt, and I can easily say this was the greatest patty melt I've ever had in my life. Perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, swimming in perfectly melted and gloopy mushrooms, onions, and Swiss cheese. There is nothing quite like hearty diner comfort food that just touches the soul. BYOB and can provide wine glasses if you bring a bottle of wine. Not open 24 hours, but at least open until midnight if you need a a late night fix. This place is warm, inviting, filled with friendly staff and customers, like stepping into a slice of Americana. read more

I had a veggie panini with so little veggies, I couldn't taste them. The description said that it has zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms and roasted peppers. There was ONE slice of a small circle of zucchini, no roasted peppers, no eggplant, one slice of mushroom and a slice of spinach. That's it! And I had to pay $17! Since the diner has raised their prices, their food has gone down hill. Don't waste your money! read more

We were driving through Audubon, NJ this evening and found this great diner. The diner has a really nice decor and is very clean. We had an amazing waitress. Her name is Lisa. She was friendly and extremely attentive and offered great suggestions. Very nice menu with a lot of choices! My wife has to be gluten free and Lisa obligingly checked with the chef to see if a few items were gluten free. They have the best iced tea and Lisa made sure our glasses were never close to empty. I had a chicken panini and my wife had sweet potato French fries drizzled with honey and cinnamon sugar. My panini came with a choice of soup or salad. I went with the Navy Bean Soup. The soup came out on a plate with a cup of coleslaw as well as crackers and some pickle chips. Both orders were delicious! Great food and GREAT service. Definitely one of the BEST diners I've been to in a long time! I highly recommend The Legacy Diner!! read more

They have some unique things ontheir menu compared to other diners. I went in knowing what I wanted to order but was definitely surprised by the choices. I decided on the green eggs and ham crepes. The actually crepe had a really nice flavor. This had scrambled eggs, ham, Swiss and avocado inside. You get two filled crepes. It was so filling! The only thing I would do differently is asking for the hollandaise sauce on the side. They put a lot on top and it was overpowering. The sauce itself was delicious but that's really all i tasted. read more

I've been here exactly once! It was a weekday between Christmas and New Years at 7:30AM. By all and every account it fits the expectations of a diner breakfast. Coffee served immediately and refreshed often. Eggs over easy, sausage, potatoes and too much rye toast! Excellent. Breakfast served mere minutes after ordering. $23 total for two people, cash tip on table, pay in front. Just four since one visit met expectations, nothing more or less. Friendly service. read more

November 21,2025. this place is ridiculous ! our wait was over 30 minutes for food , eggs were cold , order was wrong, coffee was nasty tasting and they over priced us . then the owner didn't even offer us a discount. they charged us over $50 for 2 people and it was breakfast ! we will never go there again ..... read more

Denise is a mind reader!! Such wonderful service ON Thanksgiving day and an unforgettable warmth that we were hoping for. Legacy Diner sets a new bar for diners for me. It's the best diner I've ever been to and the food was so beautiful in flavors. More than that... the decor was unforgettable and the parking was easy, the bathrooms were clean, and the the environment was very family and friends, casual and comfortable. I am so THANKFUL for this spot and I plan to, like Denise said, come back and get more!!! read more

REALLY REALLY GOOD FOOD !!! I wanted a different diner for a change. I hadn't been here in probably ten years. I recall how good their chicken gyros were. Tonight I had crab cakes and a salad. Really yummy - no filler. The man, a chicken cheese steak that he LOVED! Not crappy chicken and a super soft roll. He had my sides - string beans that he flipped for! Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. We will absolutely be returning!!! read more

Just paid 15.00 for a BLT on white toast. I just ordered without looking at price which is my fault. I just realized I cannot afford to eat at the local diner. Shame. And 4 bucks for a soda of which I drank half. Apparently refills are free. Well I for one would like a choice Mr Legacy, perhaps a $2 one-time soda or a $4 soda with unlimited refills but a $4 one-time soda mostly ice is not OK. I am not a soda drinker and would never have the appetite for more than one. So again sir, a choice would be nice. I approached Mr Legacy about the price gouging but he defended his prices saying everything is costly. True, but his look of unease or embarrassment when he said that made me feel that perhaps he knew I was right. Who knows. Won't be back and told him so. The sandwich itself was hardly worth the money. Too overpacked and the bacon was too hard. The fries were enough for several people. I think I ate 4 of them. No wonder we are all so overweight. I must say the fries were very good. Done quite well. Nonetheless if that added extra $ of which I now have even less, then keep them. I called two other local diners and their blts were 9.99. (With fries). Greed seems to be everywhere. I'm quite aware of prices. I'm just shocked. A sandwich that cost $3-5.00 at home is triple at the local diner. Why? read more

The Legacy Diner has a decent selection of meals that are served up in a timely fashion by their friendly wait staff. They setup outside seating with umbrellas in front of the diner during the pandemic, which was a great option for those wanting a meal out of the house but not quite ready to venture inside. Recently due to limited staffing they have not used the outside seating area unfortunately. All in all you can get a decent meal at a fair price, friendly staff, and they have a private parking lot available. read more

We waited about 30-45 minutes for 2 burgers and an omelette. Way overpriced. We were charged $2 for cheese on an already $12 omelette (still an incredibly dry omelette with the cheese put in, I suspect only a slice or two was used), a small glass of chocolate milk is $5. We were charged for onions as an add on to the omelette, but weren't even put into the omelette! They brought it out on the side and asked if it was okay! The cheese for the burgers were melted on the bun instead of the burger, we ordered them well and medium. They got the well part done, but the medium was the rarest medium I've ever seen. When the pricing was brought up to the owner or MOD, "It's a restaurant, sorry." It's a diner. Get over yourself. We were hungry so we didn't oblige to have anything dealt with, but incredibly overpriced for mediocre food and unprofessional service, from the top down. EDIT: I had to redownload the app because I was just so dismayed by this service lol read more

Clean. Food was excellent. Service was attentive and fast. Family environment. Very busy the day I went.

Decided to give a different local diner a try. While the diner meal was good, It offers similar dishes on the menu compared to other local diners. They did not have sourdough bread, that's not surprising since they do not seem to bake their own grains here. Westmont diner has fresh breads and bread take out. I would also say the coffee was a bit watery. I also did not notice a fresh juicer for orange juice. I would recommend the Westmont diner over Legacy. read more

The Legacy Diner is a surprisingly large diner located in Audubon, NJ. Even with a busy Saturday morning crowd we were quickly seated. Legacy's interior is very nice and modern. Menu is extensive, but is confusingly laid out at times, especially if you want to add items. Our table ordered a variety of items. The French toast was huge and the pork roll was good. Bacon was also good, and the hash browns here are that in between style, not whole potatoes, but slightly chopped up. Biggest issue with Legacy is the price; it's expensive for diner food. Legacy is about a 3.5 due to the price, but I round up to a 4. Good overall experience but expensive. read more

Amazing food and our server Paul was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming.

I've always liked this place but I'm not sure what happened today. I ordered a breakfast skillet and there were hard white pieces of fat like crumbles throughout the meal. Eggs were cold as were my husbands. Chef stated that the hard items were pieces of cheese but the pieces couldn't even be cut in half with a fork? Refused to give us a full refund on my meal. Unpleasant management. Look elsewhere for a good diner! I also heard several other patrons complaining of poor food quality at the front desk as well on my way out. read more

This diner is very close to our friends house so we stopped in on a busy Saturday afternoon. We were promptly seated and well taken care of. Unfortunately, the food was just alright. We started with the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and were not fans of the thick cheese sauce that it came with for dipping. I got the chicken gyro which was okay and my boyfriend got a pasta dish that tasted like someone scraped the top of a pizza off onto a bed of penne- if that's your thing go for it. But we were not fans. Overall, the staff was kind and attentive, but the food was just a miss. read more

I've been coming here for 15 years. I live in Philly. There isn't a diner anywhere local that compares to this. Owners are super friendly. Waitresses are helpful and accommodating. A couple seated in a booth had their cell phone on speaker phone and was having a very loud conversation with other party on the phone for about 20 minutes. Food was good atmosphere was nice. Only issue i had was the waitress brought us boxes to go. However i was sitting there for like 10m waiting for her to deliver the check. Food was good, service was terrible. Waitress didn't check on us once, didn't refill my girlfriend's coffee, and she took 20 minutes after we finished eating to get our check. I'm giving it 3 stars because the manager was very nice and apologetic which he shouldn't have to apologize for his staff unprofessional behavior . First we were way in the back last table after passing 3 unoccupied tables then we had a young bird brain waitress we had to remind to bring out missing items sides and condiments but what my real complaint is that ALL the food came out barely lukewarm even the side of bacon she initially forgot to bring Then if that wasn't bad enough the other birdbrain OLDER waitress wanted to put her two cent in and give me a dirty look and went into rhe kitchen to talk about us we even heard someone say they were about to come over to our table and say something to US THE PAYING CUSTOMER ...Yeah smart you didn't Long story short Don't Hire Kids to do an ADULT job!! read more

This has been our go to diner lately. Service is good and the food is really tasty. Each time I come I get the chicken parm. It is so good. Portion size is large and I really enjoy it. I highly recommend this diner. The staff is so nice The pies and cakes look delicious. Haven't had the chance to try them yet because we are always too full but the cheesecakes caught our eye on the way out tonight so next time it's a must! June 7 update Food was good as always but service tonight dropped the ball big time. They weren't that busy and we waited for our food for a long time and not sure why. We ordered simple stuff. Very disappointed in my dining experience. I decided to eat here alone for a Sunday breakfast and it was horrible. The server was catering to all the tables but mines. When I sat down, it took extremely long to receive service. Understandably, I know it was a Sunday morning-- but the family who sat down after me was asked by the sever for their beverage/meal in a less amount of time. The server at the counter seen that I did not have anything on my table and kindly put in my order for a hot chocolate. Finally, my sever came to my table unfriendly and took my order. I had a few questions about the menu and she was not helpful at all. When I received my breakfast -- she never came back to ask if I needed anything else. It's apparent that there's a lot of regulars that come to this diner, which is great! Someone like myself who was passing by did not receive the same quality of service as others nearby. The food was okay. I ordered pancakes, scrambled eggs, home fries, and bacon. read more
