I had high hopes for The Breakfast Spot, but this was hands down one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, it's complete chaos, cars double parked everywhere with no organization. Walking inside doesn't get any better. The place is overcrowded with DoorDash and Grubhub drivers just standing around, and there's no clear system for who's waiting, who's ordered, or where to go. You literally have to ask a dozen people just to figure out where the line starts. After finally placing our order, we were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. That turned into an hour... then an hour and a half... then nearly two hours, with zero communication or updates. We even went back in after an hour, only to be told our food still wasn't ready, but were offered a tiny spoon of water ice as if that somehow made up for it. Then, after waiting even longer, we were finally told they were out of beef bacon, the main ingredient in both of our sandwiches, and asked if we wanted a substitute. At that point, absolutely not. We canceled the order. To make matters worse, instead of issuing a proper refund, we were told to "monitor our bank account" and come back if the charge doesn't fall off. That's unacceptable. Met up with friends for lunch and this will not be my last visit. You place your order at the counter and then have a seat at a table or the counter. I ordered the fish & grits. Be prepared to wait for your food as it is cooked to order! Trust me...it is well worth the wait. Best cheese grits I've ever had (sooo savory!) and it came with 3 large portions of fried whiting. Let's say I decided to take a drive on Juneteenth and finally try this place out. Lol jokes on me because they were swamped with in house and online orders. The wait was 2hrs and believe it or not I decided to wait. I ordered the Stay Focused breakfast sandwich which consists of 2 thick pieces of French toast and in between I had the scrambled eggs with cheddar and spicy beef sausages. The sandwich itself is dusted with powdered sugar and topped with syrup. I'm not going to lie the sandwich was worth the wait and I would have loved to dine in and indulged in the sandwich. By the time I received my order it was after 2 and they had several more orders to go but I didn't want to prolong staying there and technically they close at 2. I wanted to rate this place a little higher and even though I rated it low I think it does have potential to be better and I will try them again. Decorated well inside and always greeted upon entering. Made a to go order over the phone. Food was already bagged and sealed but when I got home no utensils or syrup. Eggs and bacon were cooked as they should be. Potatoes were good and soft but they were greasy. But what really killed my mood was these overcooked or undercooked French toast slabs of bread. Parking lot available. Came on Mother's Day; no wait, no reservations and not packed at all. Immediately greeted by friendly and engaging staff member. She informed us we could sit anywhere and provided us with menus and told us what the specials were. She even told us what people typically order and the comments. She mentioned that the fish and grits were always complemented but did admit she hasn't tried it since she doesn't eat seafood. Food came out hot, and ready to eat. The eggs and grits were seasoned so well, I couldn't stop eating. I received 3 big pieces of fish that were seasoned so well, had me thinking my granny was on the kitchen. Everything was so good. The pancakes were thick, tasty and not too dough. While there, business started picking up with to-go ordered being picked up and being coming in for table service. This Breakfast spot is AMAZING . The owner Tanesha (pray that's the correct spelling ) was so welcoming and aimed to make our FIRST experience wonderful. The portions were hearty and large enough to enjoy at home for another meal. We were even given a sample of the YUMMY FLAVORFUL fried fish to try. We will DEFINITELY be back. The first thing I was told was there was no chicken or no fish. I was the only one that was told that I should've left then but I didn't. My order was completely wrong. I ordered a sandwich on white bread, turkey bacon no egg. I got a sandwich on rye bread with egg and pork bacon we were sitting in. He packed our bag to go stapled it shut and handed it to us. It's so great to find a nice place to have breakfast nearby. My wife and I went and were pleasantly surprised. And finally after 20 minutes into us eating she comes out from the back and says excuse me but can you guys hurry up because I close in an hour, we just paid for our food and left . I decided to give this place a third try the second time I was there I waited over 45 minutes for easy to make breakfast stuff like French toast and eggs. I was just there last week and I decided to get a receipt upon looking at this receipt I realize that the 1399 mill that included 2 eggs I was also charged and additional egg surcharge which was a dollar per egg that is Unreal. To add a second slap in the face they also charged me a service charge I guess that was for the woman pushing the buttons on a cash register because she clearly told me they did not have a person to seat people. Out of my 1399 special and the person who I was with their meal also was with 2 eggs . The total amount I paid was $4 for The egg surcharge I feel like I was double billed or I overpaid for the price of eggs next time I will buy a whole carton of eggs for $5 and just make my own breakfast. read more
