Stopped here on our way to run errands, our first and last time. The host was not very professional, and sat us right by the door even though there were a dozen better tables. The waitress came over and got our order. In ordered well don't home fries with onions, they were not even "regular done", the toast was not even warm enough to melt the butter and the omelet had under cooked bacon and was a little runny. The waitress comped my meal, but my coffee was empty and and I never got a refill, plus the bad food means I will never go back. read more

This is the perfect place to eat alone or with friends and family. I opted to go alone and very much enjoyed the solitude on a Sunday afternoon. There were customers but not too busy, so it was quiet. I sat in window seat and ordered a veggie omelette plus mushrooms with a side of cheese grits and rye toast. Everything came out fast and tasted great. The service was friendly and I felt well taken care of. I even got a chance to steam a Netflix show enjoying their free WiFi. Great diner. great people. We wanted a change from our usual "circuit" of diners, so we stopped here. I'd never been. I have to concur with some of the other reviews on the servers. Ours wasn't miserable, but she was pretty serious/somber. And yes, you do wait - whether it's from short staffing, or a slow chef? I have to say that my side scrambled egg was delicious! The French Toast - pretty good, but I detected some ? flavor. It may have been from the pre-packaged syrup, which the packaging looking like it was from 1975 or something! I'm in no rush to go back, but would go again. I'm especially curious about their DAILY 2 for $25 dinners, which is a steal (or so I'm hoping). read more

Many moons ago, there used to be an Eagle Diner in Woolwich Twp. I'm not sure if this one's related, but I do know that it popped up in a Yelp search for turkey salad and I used to love the one made in Woolwich. With that in mind, a trip to Pine Hill was made. Eagle Diner looks like a shiny classic diner from the exterior. Inside, it's warm, slightly dated (with some pretty deep gashes in the booths), and feels exactly how you'd think of a diner. Our server was friendly and prompt. I ordered a Caesar salad and a side of pork roll in addition to my turkey salad club, joking that I was ravenous from having not eaten all day (this was around 3:30 pm). She came right back with the salad, which was very much appreciated. And it was delicious! The best bits of romaine along with tasty croutons and a delectable dressing. I ate every bite. I was surprised to see that the turkey salad is made of sliced deli meat turkey rather than the real deal. It definitely did the dish a huge disservice. I've never had deli meat submerged in mayo before like that. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the most appealing either. I wouldn't go out of my way for it again. The side of pork roll was the thick kind and was more greasy than charred. Also just not my thing. My mom ordered the French toast with bacon. She loved the French toast but wasn't a fan of the bacon -- she said it needed to be crispier, and just by looking at it, I'd agree. We were given free pie slices for dessert - lemon meringue and cherry. Apparently sometimes they just give out free dessert, which is nice of them. If I returned to Eagle, I'd probably opt for breakfast. read more

WOW! The Eagle Diner in Clementon is as great as any 5-Star Michelin Restaurant! The decor is classy and sophisticated and the service is impeccable. What can I say about the food other than SUPERB! Their meats and seafood are of the quality usually reserved for Royalty, but somehow they are able to procure it. (Someone there must have connections.). You can close your eyes and just point at anything on the menu - and you'll be AMAZED!!! read more

We moved away a few years ago and were back in Philly / SJ for some family business... we miss Jersey diners in Florida and hit us a few. The parking lot was empty mid week at breakfast and our experience showed us why. They are the stereotypical shiny, Jersey diner packed with booths, and with a huge menu. I had coffee, and one of the featured omelets​ with feta cheese, tomato, onion​, ​and spinach as well as a side of home fries with onions. The server was unbelievably slow given how empty the diner was, and she acted like she didn't want to be there or that we were an inconvenience. The omelet was blah, you could barely find the feta and it was just flat with no flavor. The home fries​ had zero flavor and were super greasy​​. There was nothing pleasurable about our experience, especially given that we had great food at a diner down the road just a day before. read more

Won't be coming to eagle diner again .. Sausage tasted disgusting Eggs is super blah poorly cooked. I asked for home-fries with onions and it was mushy and the onions wasn't mixed in it was just thrown on top. Service was both rude and horrible. Never checked on me. No refills on drinks. My server spent the entire time I was there flirting with a man sitting next to me. He got several refills. In a neighborhood teeming with diners, the Eagle Diner is the absolute worst in South Jersey. I'll warn all of my family, friends and neighbors about this terrible place. read more

Atmosphere: The atmosphere of the Eagle Diner is a big metallic, shiny diner. You can't get more picture perfect NJ diner if you tried. The inside has all of the booths, tables, and full-length bars. I believe this diner is relatively new, so it's also quiet (something I can't say I mind). Coffee: The Eagle Diner serves local Lacas diner which I'm a fan of. The waitress brought multiple refills and even plenty of whipped cream. The waitress as the Eagle Diner was friendly and gave plenty of recommendations. She was one of best waitresses I've had in my diner quest. After seeing the omelets the first time, I decided to order an omelet the second time. I settled upon the Mexican Omelet since it sounded good. I ordered rye toast, and it came with home fries. The Omelet was good, it wasn't the best Omelet I've had, but it wasn't bad either. It was a typical diner Omelet and could have used a couple more fillings. The home fries were good, and I preferred the crunchy and slightly burnt ones over the soggy. It's hard to mess up toast, and the rye was good too. Although marbled rye is always the best. Summary/Overall Thoughts: I like the Eagle Diner and think it's a hidden gem in South Jersey. The food is decent tasting and reasonably priced but the service is so slow. The waitresses never make you feel welcome. They always whine about being short staffed and are very sullen. Very slow service. They don't have lox at all so I will not be returning. I had a cup of coffee and the waitress did not offer me another cup. I was charged $1.00 more than the menu price so there goes the tip. Charge the right price. The other person was overcharged too. When I'm on a date I don't make a scene. It was pretty empty in the diner which tells you something. There was a knat by my food. Waitress never returned to get my card to pay the bill so I had another waitress take care of it. I don't like to leave bad reviews. But this place was awful. There were four of us and the food was late (not crowded). Practically flavorless and just greasy. I was somewhat excited to see this local business that had been closed for several years reopen under new ownership and branding. Sadly I was very disappointed. I ordered clams casino as an appetizer, and while I didn't expect to be blown away, I at least expected something decent. Mine was full of chopped bacon with light flavor, no seasoning, chopped onions, and the clams ranged from dime to quarter size. Babies. Hardly any meat and seemed undercooked. For $7.99 that's just ridiculous. My wife ordered a burger and it was passable, but the bottom bun of one of the pieces was about the size of a half pickle slice, and held together by the cheese. Literally ty corner of a slice of bread. We do not know what happened to the other piece of bread. Her onion rings looked delicious and seemed as if they had lots of seasoning, but it was a ruse! They fell apart at first touch and had absolutely no flavor except for that old oil taste. Our waitress was nice, but that couldn't salvage our meal. The state of the food is not good. It was awful. The waitress did her best, honestly, but you can only do so much when the food is that horrible. My cheesesteak was basically just bread; almost no cheese. It was almost painful how sad a sandwich it was. The soup was basically like drinking old water, the pie was like something left from decades ago that they just found in the back of a closet and served. It was basically a crime to have pie that bad in a NJ diner. I'm not convinced that the main business running out of the diner is feeding people since they were so bad at it. Go to the diner where they filmed Jersey girl instead. Go to McDonalds. Go to the dumpster behind the Goodwill down the street. Go anywhere else. Do it. I have been to so many diners in New Jersey and I really enjoy diner food. This place looked pretty cool from the outside. When we went in we were greeted by a young waitress who showed us to our seats. She grabbed our drinks. In the middle of our order she walked away without saying a word. She went and got a spoon for the table next to us. My Granddad wanted to have rice pudding and I also ordered some. It was old, clumpy and gross. They served it in the tiniest dish possible and it was overflowing. I also ordered a short stack of blueberry pancakes - they were tasty but the syrup was disgusting. I ordered hash browns with cheese and what I got looked like potato chips. Once our food was served she never came back to our table. We waited ten minutes after we finished and seeing that she wasn't going to return we had to walk up to where she was and she gave us our check and then said "take your time". She didn't have a clue that we shouldn't have had to wait for the check if she checked on us she would've known. The only thing this diner has going for it is that it is clean. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

Extremely disappointing breakfast on a Sunday morning. Ordered the hungry man breakfast special it was lackluster to say the least. The bacon was over cooked and the eggs were not scrambled to my liking. The pancakes were not very fluffy and also they used Heinz Syrup cups for the pancakes and that's just unacceptable at a diner. Just got home after a wonderful meal at this New diner. Food was great and plentiful, the service was spot on (Alyssa was wonderful and friendly) and the atmosphere was cozy and friendly. I think we found our new GO TO diner. We were there with our daughter and her 20 month old daughter. This place has been through many management and yet it still hasn't captivated me to giving this diner no more than 2 stars. Staff were quite unpleasant with me and my family from the start. I have to say, I was surprised by this diner. Looking over the menu, overall, each item was fairly inexpensive compared to similar establishments. As others have reported, the portion sizes are quite large. The one time I went here for breakfast the total cost for two people was $12, not including tip. I thought this was a good deal! I thought the coffee was good. I now see in Hollie S's review that they serve Lacas coffee which is a local company. The diner itself, is clean inside and out. Parking lot is well marked and in good repair. The booths are comfortable and clean. In terms of breakfast food, I have gotten the french toast. It was filling and while it wasn't the best it certainly was good and I enjoyed it. The most recent time I was here the waitress was super nice and attentive. She seemed to really care about our experience dinning here. My only complaint was I ordered a chocolate milkshake and it had ice crystals in it.
