the biggest danish Ive ever seen in my entire foodie life!

We wanted a change from our usual "circuit" of diners, so we stopped here. I'd never been. I have to concur with some of the other reviews on the servers. Ours wasn't miserable, but she was pretty serious/somber. And yes, you do wait - whether it's from short staffing, or a slow chef? I have to say that my side scrambled egg was delicious! The French Toast - pretty good, but I detected some ? flavor. It may have been from the pre-packaged syrup, which the packaging looking like it was from 1975 or something! I'm in no rush to go back, but would go again. I'm especially curious about their DAILY 2 for $25 dinners, which is a steal (or so I'm hoping).

Many moons ago, there used to be an Eagle Diner in Woolwich Twp. I'm not sure if this one's related, but I do know that it popped up in a Yelp search for turkey salad and I used to love the one made in Woolwich. With that in mind, a trip to Pine Hill was made. Eagle Diner looks like a shiny classic diner from the exterior. Inside, it's warm, slightly dated (with some pretty deep gashes in the booths), and feels exactly how you'd think of a diner. Our server was friendly and prompt. I ordered a Caesar salad and a side of pork roll in addition to my turkey salad club, joking that I was ravenous from having not eaten all day (this was around 3:30 pm). She came right back with the salad, which was very much appreciated. And it was delicious! The best bits of romaine along with tasty croutons and a delectable dressing. I ate every bite. I was surprised to see that the turkey salad is made of sliced deli meat turkey rather than the real deal. It definitely did the dish a huge disservice. I've never had deli meat submerged in mayo before like that. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the most appealing either. I wouldn't go out of my way for it again. The side of pork roll was the thick kind and was more greasy than charred. Also just not my thing. My mom ordered the French toast with bacon. She loved the French toast but wasn't a fan of the bacon -- she said it needed to be crispier, and just by looking at it, I'd agree. We were given free pie slices for dessert - lemon meringue and cherry. Apparently sometimes they just give out free dessert, which is nice of them. If I returned to Eagle, I'd probably opt for breakfast.

Ordered dessert from them thru grub hub. Ordered one chocolate cheese cake, one black forest cake and one very expensive bread pudding (small portion) at $8.99 WHAT I RECIEVED.... Was Cheesecake with hershey chocolate sauce poured on it. THAT WAS THE CLOSEST THING TO MY ORDER! I recieved plain old chocolate cake for the black forest cake. For the $8.99 bread pudding... they had the ba--- to send me a canned chocolate pudding! REALLY!!! This is the new ownership..... soon to be the closed ownership with service like this!

We moved away a few years ago and were back in Philly / SJ for some family business... we miss Jersey diners in Florida and hit us a few. The parking lot was empty mid week at breakfast and our experience showed us why. They are the stereotypical shiny, Jersey diner packed with booths, and with a huge menu. I had coffee, and one of the featured omelets with feta cheese, tomato, onion, and spinach as well as a side of home fries with onions. The server was unbelievably slow given how empty the diner was, and she acted like she didn't want to be there or that we were an inconvenience. The omelet was blah, you could barely find the feta and it was just flat with no flavor. The home fries had zero flavor and were super greasy. There was nothing pleasurable about our experience, especially given that we had great food at a diner down the road just a day before.

Won't be coming to eagle diner again .. Sausage tasted disgusting Eggs is super blah poorly cooked. I asked for home-fries with onions and it was mushy and the onions wasn't mixed in it was just thrown on top. Also I hope this place knows that when you come to a restaurant to eat food you expect not to have to keep fighting off flys while you eat.

    Omelet (it was good)

Atmosphere: The atmosphere of the Eagle Diner is a big metallic, shiny diner. You can't get more picture perfect NJ diner if you tried. The inside has all of the booths, tables, and full-length bars. I believe this diner is relatively new, so it's also quiet (something I can't say I mind). Coffee: The Eagle Diner serves local Lacas diner which I'm a fan of. The waitress brought multiple refills and even plenty of whipped cream. The waitress as the Eagle Diner was friendly and gave plenty of recommendations. She was one of best waitresses I've had in my diner quest. After seeing the omelets the first time, I decided to order an omelet the second time. I settled upon the Mexican Omelet since it sounded good. I ordered rye toast, and it came with home fries. The Omelet was good, it wasn't the best Omelet I've had, but it wasn't bad either. It was a typical diner Omelet and could have used a couple more fillings. The home fries were good, and I preferred the crunchy and slightly burnt ones over the soggy. It's hard to mess up toast, and the rye was good too. Although marbled rye is always the best. Summary/Overall Thoughts: I like the Eagle Diner and think it's a hidden gem in South Jersey. I'll definitely be back a third and fourth time...maybe even fifth. ;)

    Chicken cheeseburger with French fries!

The food wasn't bad, however I was expecting and would have preferred a fresh made ground chicken burger... not a frozen package burger. On the upside the waitress was extremely friendly and helpful!

This place is bananas...literally!…read more My love and I planned our nice little Saturday ("Old School" anyone?) around stopping at The Original Banana Company to grab some after-dinner sweet treats for later. Five Yelp stars across the board? Doesn't get much better than that! We were warmly greeted by the staff, and they explained the menu to us. Being the Yelpers we are, we already conducted our research and entered locked and loaded and ready with our selections: - Toasted Smores Frozen Banana - they even asked how I like my marshmallows (burnt, please)! - Rice Krispy Treat Frozen Banana - gooey and delicious on all levels - Special of the Day Frozen Banana - Lucky charms, marshmallow, and caramel. Yowza! - Cookie Butter Cheesecake - my cholesterol surely shot up 50 points after this. Amazing! - Nutella UFO - hazelnut goodness! - Peanut Butter UFO - who knew peanut butter and banana bread complemented each other so well? We had such a fun time chatting with the staff and checking out the cool banana-themed décor. This place is an instant mood booster! The bananas were AMAZING. So unique and so delicious. We tried to tip but we were told they are not permitted to accept gratuities. In this day and age when EVERYONE has their hand out for a tip, it was refreshing to be declined. But honestly, they actually DO deserve a tip, and a big one at that! They are SO FRIENDLY! We cannot wait to return. Our plan is to sample the entire menu!

Eons better than all of the other frozen fruit/chocolate covered sweet treats in the grocery store ice cream section. Their ice cream sandwiches were amazing too-- they are made with banana bread. Somehow they kept the soft texture of the banana bread even with it being frozen. I highly recommend. Sensitive teeth approved.

Let me start by saying I've been a patron of this establishment for years. The taste of the food is…read moreusually consistent with a couple of hiccups here and there. With that being said, two weeks ago I placed an order for 3 dozen creampuffs and scheduled a pick-up for 1:30p on Saturday (4/4). I arrived at 12:50p as I was in the area after traveling from Philly. Upon my arrival there was a line out the door and wrapped around the porch in 80 degree weather. Initially I bypassed the line thinking they must of been walk-in orders given that in the previous times I've placed orders they were always prepared with a slip stuck in the box(es) and you're in/out under 10-15mins. When I learned that everyone in line were customers that had placed orders, and were waiting to pick up, I took my place in line. During my 2.5+ hour wait myself (along with other customers) learned the following: 1. Napoleon's kept taking orders up until close the previous day (Fri. 4/3). That was shocking given that they usually stop taking orders days ahead of time. 2. They were giving some customers 50% off who were waiting since 11:30a but then giving other customers 10% off, and some were charged full price. At one point, a worker stood at the register and literally said "I'm just spit balling numbers here." 3. The staff at Napoleon's justified the hours long wait time because two staff members "called out." Here's my issue hence the low rating: While I am sympathetic to being short staffed, as a previous restaurant co-owner, being short staffed was not the problem today. The problem was disorganization and poor management. In my 2.5+ hour long wait I saw a staff member run in & out of the building several times taking people's names and original pick up time over and over again. How many times do you need to capture the same information? It was a waste of time. Secondly, nothing was prepped. Napoleon's took orders up until Friday yet they were in the process of baking cream puff shells, and making the filling the whole time I waited. None of it was prepped the night before or even the morning of. Thirdly, what they decided to charge the folks I waited with had no rhyme or reason. They gave one guy 50% off, another 10%, and then charged another full price. Either do it for all who waited, or don't do it at all. It's a slap in the face to people who spent valuable time in 80 degree weather to try and support your disorganized establishment. At 4:00p when my order was finally ALMOST ready, and I was told to pay full price, I raised this observation to the staff. I informed them my time, along with others, is valuable and the discount should be across the board. I was told "Ok, you can leave." I did exactly that. While the cream puffs are decent, they do not justify how the operation was mishandled and then the shitty customer service on top of it. It's simply the principle of it. I will never go back, and I encourage future patrons to not give it your time of day. You're simply a $ to the money hungry owner, and they do not care about customer satisfaction. You've been warned.
