I have stayed away from Sweet Eats Bakery for quite some time because of a rude interaction I had with management in the past. It left such a negative impression that I chose to take my business elsewhere. Recently, however, I needed to pick up a cake for a friend, so I decided to give Sweet Eats another chance. I'm so glad I did, and it's all because of Alicia. From the moment I walked in, Alicia was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and professional. She took the time to answer all of my questions and was extremely knowledgeable about the bakery's cake options. Her enthusiasm, patience, and genuine desire to help made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. Alicia completely changed my perception of the bakery. Customer service like hers is rare these days, and she deserves recognition for the outstanding job she does. She made me feel valued as a customer and reminded me how much a positive interaction can matter. Thanks to Alicia, Sweet Eats Bakery has earned my business back. Very disappointed with my experience at Sweet Eats Bakery on 310 S Burnt Mill Rd, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043. I was quoted $51 for a 10-inch yellow cake, and for that price I expected at least some level of customization and customer service. I wanted a 3-layer yellow cake with real fruit and two different filling flavors between the layers. However, I was told that Sweet Eats Bakery only makes cakes in bulk and that customers must choose from a pre-set list of cake and filling combinations. I was informed that each cake contains two layers of the same filling and that selecting different fillings for each layer was not an option. Wanting to see if an exception could be made for what seemed like a simple request, I spoke with the manager, Bridgett. Unfortunately, she also refused to accommodate the request and reiterated that I had to choose from the existing options. When I asked whether they would rather lose a customer than honor a simple request that would not create any hardship for the bakery, she responded that they would rather lose a customer. At that point, they lost me as a customer. For a bakery charging premium prices, I expected more flexibility, better customer service, and a willingness to work with customers on reasonable requests. Instead, I was told to take it or leave it. I chose to leave it, and I will not be returning. If you're looking for a custom cake tailored to your preferences, this may not be the place for you. I highly recommend Sweet T's Bakeshop in Haddonfield, NJ, they are better anyways! read more

I've gotten birthday cakes here and their mini layered cakes in a cup. Everything is delicious and the best cakes (and icing) I've ever had. They have interesting flavors--of which peanut butter and coffee are some of my favorites, however the one I keep returning to is their strawberry and vanilla cakes. Highly recommend trying this place out, beware sometimes there is a line to order, especially on weekends, but it moves fairly fast. Seriously the best bakery around! I've gotten a bunch of cakes and they are always a hit! Delightfully moist with a depth of flavor that is never too sweet. I'm often not a fan of cake because so many taste very one note with the only flavor being sugar, but I've never had that problem here. There is an excellent variety in their menu with flavors that pack a punch and it is super easy to place an order online. The strawberry and cream is phenomenal and I also LOVE their chocolate raspberry (my all time favorite). Besides their full sized cakes, I'm a HUGE fan of their cake cups! An excellent way to sample their cake flavors and have a nice one person serving of cake. Additionally, I always see the people behind the counter working hard- they are fast and considerate in how they pack your items so they stay fresh and survive the journey home. This was my first time ordering a cake from here and it was delicious! I ordered 3-4 weeks ahead of time through their online site, which was user friendly and a very easy process. When I arrived yesterday about 10 minutes before 9am there was already a line, but it moved quickly. I would recommend probably getting there before 9am if you are in a rush. The bakery was well stocked with all types of cakes, cupcakes, and desserts for walk-in customers. The employees were friendly and helpful. I've gotten the sugar-free cheesecake before (did not come with a graham bottom crust), and the sugar-free 6" Strawberry Cake. What a beautiful and delicious cake we ordered for my grandson's baptism reception! We chose the 10 inch round yellow cake with raspberry Bavarian cream filling and it was superb. We received so many compliments on this cake and it was so good that some of our guests even asked for seconds! I chose a white buttercream frosting with pastel blues and yellow flowers. We were introduced to this bakery several years ago and we never disappointed! Birthday cakes is what we buy from this clean and very well organized establishment. To date, our favorite flavors are, carrot cake, orangesicle and pina colada !!! We don't go anywhere else for our birthday cakes! During the holidays the pickup line is outside of the front door. They manage to service everyone in a timely manner which is an added bonus because their cakes are out of this world! I've had a cake from Sweet Eats once like 5 years ago at my workplace, and literally could not stop thinking about it since then. Fast forward to now, I had to buy a cake from somewhere for a surprise baby shower for my SIL yesterday. Since I had been craving Sweet Eats for a super long time now, I decided to order from there. I had ordered a 7" White Chocolate with Chocolate Chips cake which is their most popular flavor. I wanted to get the tiramisu or cannoli but feared that not everyone would enjoy that. Maybe another time. It was actually super delicious, and I enjoyed the cake thoroughly. I didn't love the white chocolate buttercream, but it was still tasty. The chocolate chips made it a good balance. They also decorated it very nicely. Only thing I didn't like is that when you walk into the store, you don't know what to do. There's only 1 line, and any person who's never been here before, literally would not know what to do. I had ordered the cake in advance, so all I really needed to do was pick up the cake. But, that meant I would have to stand in the same line being used for people who are ordering on the spot. I happened to be in the area again and since it was a rainy day, fairly early, there wasn't much of a line. Decided to pop in. Now this is THE YEAR OF THE PANDEMIC, but maybe it was because of the rain, no one was social distancing - everybody was inside. At least they provided hand sanitizer before you grabbed your customer service ticket. Again, no prices anywhere unless you are smart enough to grab a brochure off the counter. How sick do the staff get repeating over and over what prices are for cakes, cupcakes, cake pieces, cookies, etc. It must be exhausting. I picked 2 little cups of the white chocolate cake and decided to add 2 cupcakes as a surprise for the family. $16. Yikes. Tell anyone in South Jersey that you got your cake from Sweet Eats and they'll know what bakery that is. Everyone knows Sweet Eats and probably orders their cakes there. There's always a long line there, and even if you reserved and paid for your cake, you still have to wait in the long line. However it does move fairly quickly. Their cakes are ALWAYS super moist (even days after), and they have so many choices of flavors. Why didn't I post a picture? Because 80% of their cakes look alike! The one thing that really gets me mad is that they are so inflexible with any change or additions! Like, even if you were POTUS, they wouldn't allow ANY changes whatsoever. If you wanted anything special, any design, any tiers, you better order it at least 6 months in advance. The cream is not sweet at all which is why my family loves it. I believe we have gotten the same cake about 6 times now in the past two years. I usually walk in during a week day and just ask for the 7 inch cake, which has always been available for purchase. (You can always pre-order your cake ahead of time) The two-layer 7-inch cake costs $22 which is a good price from a specialty bakery. I recommend taking the cake out of the fridge 2 hours before serving so the cream is extra soft. Sweet Eats is usually extremely busy the day before a holiday and on the weekends. read more
