We have lived in the area for the past 20+ years. My family members all insist on getting any birthday cake from L&M. We get the vanilla cake with buttercream frosting. The cake is moist & tasty. The frosting is amazing with this delicious sugary glitter on top. One of the other pluses about L&M is that they are consistent. Their cakes are always incredibly delicious, well-decorated and well worth the price. Be ready to possibly stand in a relatively fast moving line to pickup your cake, and order ahead online through their website! Very good bakery and donuts. Was in the area for a while, and wanted to treat the guys at work. Got recommended this place from a local bagel shop, so made the trek. Parking is a little non-existent. There's signs for parking in the back but the back is 12 spots that rapidly fill up. You might need to get creative to get here. When you walk inside, there's countless displays of freshly made baked goods and a giant wall of donuts on display. The lady taking care of me was very nice and selected a bakers dozen for the crew. I also got a couple pecan rolls for me and my other. The pecan roll was delicious! Sweet, sticky, laden with pecans and soft but not pillowy. The perfect bite of a bakery sweet. I brought the dozen into my conference room and turned my back to write out my talking points. After a few minutes, I turned back and the donuts were gone. Now I am being quizzed when the next meeting will be and will I bring donuts to that one too. So this place is very good, almost dangerously so. Tried a glazed donut here with my coworker. We both were pleasantly surprised. The glazed donut does not pass the eye test because the glaze isn't glossy so we didn't know what to expect. The donut was delicious, one of the better ones around this area. The donut is soft, airy, but slightly denser than what I'm looking for. But overall, it has the perfect glazed donut flavor and super fresh! Bring cash if you don't plan to spend more than $10. Credit card minimum is $10. I looked online for "best donut" in the area and found lots of endorsements for L&M. We headed over the Tacony Palmyra Bridge and up to Delran to find out for ourselves. I can see the appeal. The donuts were pretty tasty. People raved about the cream donuts, so we got some of those. The cream donut topped with caramel was a favorite. Bonus: they were pretty inexpensive. "If we acknowledge that your cake wasn't right and we would offer you an adjustment, the cliental that shops here would want adjustments on everything." I was blown away how L&M Bakery thinks of their customers. Recently I visited this place at the recommendation for their donuts and birthday cakes for being good. I decided to give a try, although it is out of way--20 mins in the other direction. The place is literally on the other side of the tracks (Riverline tracks)...LoL. It's a traditional small bakery that puts out great tasting pastries. The donuts were too big for my preference, however they did taste good. I felt like was eating a small cake than eating a donut. They had a decent selection between donuts, muffins, pies, cannolis, and cakes. The interior was clean, but dated. The staff was friendly. It was a slow day (one other customer besides myself), but I felt as a the customer I was being rushed. This is usually the type of service you get with a high volume place and the staff runs on only one speed. It was in the middle of the week at 2pm...take a deep breath and relax ladies!! It's not the morning of a holiday rush!! So, if it's your first time, stand away from the counter to view the menu board and display case. I had been to this location a few years back as it was highly recommended for its baked goods and donuts. Today I found myself in the area and had to stop in now that I am a donut aficionado, connoisseur, sommelier. I arrived just as the weekend snow storm started. One downside is that this place is very popular but the parking is limited. If you don't get a space right in front or on the side on the street you have to park around back and walk up the block. When I arrived there was already a line but it moved relatively quickly. Someone in the line mentioned that they used to have numbers like at a deli but there weren't any numbers today and one gentleman did step out of line when they asked for the next person but he was not next. They offer a variety of baked goods including cakes, cookies, cupcakes, pies and of course what I was there for donuts. I got four. Of course a traditional which gives me an opportunity to just taste the basic dough. Then a jelly, an apple cinnamon, and a powdered. I knew this wasn't an artisan type donut place but I was hoping for a great taste experience. These were pretty disappointing and basic. Of course the jelly was the traditional bulk made jelly. The traditional was pretty bland. A good traditional has a crunchy outside in a soft middle with a sufficient amount of sweetness. The powdered was also pretty disappointing. I Expected it to be somewhat fluffy and melt in your mouth, it wasn't and didn't. The apple cinnamon I could barely taste cinnamon. Overall I can't say that the donuts here are any better than what you would get at the Wegmans bakery. read more

Very grouchy and got irritated when I asked questions about what fillings there are, what flavor cakes... i had a very simple order yet they made it seem like it was difficult. You have to order your own decor if you plan on putting something on your cake. I wanted edible pearls- about 10 of them and I had to order a whole container and drop it off for them to use. It's a shame because the bakery is great but I don't want to give my money to a bakery who doesn't appreciate their customers. read more
