I've been dying to try these donuts after have read reviews and having a colleague vouch for them. My first attempt was Saturday morning but was met with a long line and left. I got there Sunday at 6 am and thankfully didn't have to wait outside in the cold and even found parking The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I got half a dozen donuts and a cupcake. I bit into the glazed and liked the texture but flavor was lacking and it tasted like it needed more salt and a few more seconds in the fryer. I cut open the jelly and Boston and was happily surprised to see they did not skimp on the filling. The Boston tasted like it was filled with pudding instead of custard and the jelly was filled with jam and tasted overly sweet for my liking. The cream donut tasted like it had been filled with buttercream and was very light in texture. I got a chocolate cupcake with buttercream icing since IMO it's extremely difficult to find a good moist chocolate cupcake that tasted like chocolate. The cake itself wasn't too dry and there was chocolate flavoring to it. The buttercream was nice and light and complimented the cupcake well. Overall it was good but I will not go out of my way to get these again like I would donuts from curiosity donuts in Princeton read more

Their baked goods don't stop at donuts... L & M Bakery also bakes all types of cakes, pies and cookies and much more... They also bake all types of rolls and breads... Very good bakery. This is the place dad would bring cheese cakes from when I was a youngster. And they have maintained there great taste with very little increases in prices.. There's plenty staff available to help when you enter. Will be a crowd on weekends, but they move you along quickly. They do run out of things quickly. So get there early as possible. Parking is best on the side or in back. Front parking has you backing up into traffic. Not safe good. read more

The cream donuts are good but not great. I do love that they taste fairly fresh and that I'm supporting a small business who actually makes their own stuff! I have a feeling the people who say these are the best donuts anywhere have only eaten sad grocery store or coffee chain donuts. But I've had better donuts from Dottie's and at the Amish market in Columbus. That may be a taste preference on my part. Dottie's puts nutmeg in their dough, which I find quite delightful, and I'm a sucker for their Thai tea glaze. Their donuts have a satisfying chewy texture, and aren't too sweet. The Amish folks who sell at Columbus Market really know donuts! They taste fresh and I prefer their cream to donut ratio (about 80/20). I also recommend McMillan's in Haddon for some great cream donuts. I also tried their butter cake. Was not impressed. It was too sugary (even for butter cake) and not buttery or flavorful enough. Also the crust had a weird plastic aftertaste. Go to Columbus Market and try the butter cakes there. Much more creamy and delicious. I did not try their buttercream cakes or other pastries, so perhaps the cakes are amazing? If you're less picky than I, you'll at least enjoy the donuts probably. read more

Someone keeps bringing in donuts from this bakery and they're incredible. I've had them on my list to get to for a few years now but it was last Easter when I myself truly discovered them. Their babka is hands down my favorite. Growing up we always had a cheese Babka at Easter. Every year. No matter where I've lived I had always made it my mission to find the best near by. Last year while at a Polish deli in Northeast Philly, the L&M van stopped by to drop off their goodies and changed everything. Not only did I buy a cheese Babka but also a raspberry cheese Babka. I always turned away from chocolate or cinnamon flavored but couldn't help myself with the raspberry cheese. It was devoured within a day. I wish I had more right now! Easiest thing ever, went to their website, pre-ordered, swung by after work (they close at 6!), paid and happily went on my way. Small parking lot out front. Went here on a recommendation that they had an amazing selection of cupcakes. They had 2, but that disappointment is not their fault. However, the chocolate cupcakes seemed a little flavorless. Just sweet and oil, barely any cocoa. Texture was good, not too much frosting. Not terrible at all. More like a really good supermarket cupcake. The ONLY reason I'm being so picky is that I wanted that bakery flavor, ya know? Now...the next part is a little unfair on my side. I grew up in Bergen County, if you grow up having crumb cake from B&W, you've grown up with the gold standard. The crumbcake here is good. Better than most I've had since moving south. So, if you haven't had B&W, this crumbcake likely would taste pretty bangin. Now the critical part. They need more butter. The cake was NOT dense enough and the crumb barely held together. It was a little dry. VERY TASTY AND I'M BEING PICKY, however I am also being honest. I'll be back there to try more of their goods. They had a pretty tasty looking selection. It wth great sadness that I take time out of my life to write this review I have used this bakery for over 33 years. This past Saturday I ordered my cake like normal with a dozen and a half of cupcakes, we cut the cake at around 8 o'clock and I sent cake home with guest as normal. one of the guest said to me there's something in the cake which we are assuming it just wasn't mixed in well (lummpy batter) long story short Sunday when I remembered to call the bakery to inform them about the lumpy cake batter It was after 1 PM and they were closed Monday they're closed, Tuesday completely forgot, By now I've eaten a slice of lumpy cake and so did my son. I spoke with my neice who asked me what was wrong with LM cake it has lumps in it. Now it's Wednesday and once my niece said that I knew it was not just a slice or two but apparently most of the cake! I call and explain my concerns and I'm told by the worker that I would need to bring the uneaten cake back to the store in order to get a partial refund and without the cake they couldn't give me a credit and stated "unfortunately there's nothing I can do". I asked her how could bring her something that I shared with my guest to take home. She stated "again unfortunately there's I can do" I am very disappointed and the quality of their product over the years like everything else unfortunately has gone to crap! Furthermore, he employess have horr attitudes, and hate when they are to wash their hands attitudes are nasty. Beware! L&M do better! Stopped in for breakfast just before noon on a Saturday to try some of their donuts. A half dozen was cheap enough that we hadn't met the $10 minimum to pay with a card, so we threw in 2 cupcakes (still not enough) and a large cannoli. The place is a small square-shaped room with a line that reached the door throughout our entire wait. They didn't have a very large selection of donuts at the time; not sure if it was because we arrived later in the morning, or if they don't usually make a big variety. We ordered chocolate-iced donuts, a vanilla frosted cinnamon donut, a chocolate frosted chocolate donut, caramel iced cream filled donut, and a chocolate iced cream filled donut. The donuts were all pretty good, but not mind-blowing. The cupcakes were pretty good, but the chocolate one didn't taste very chocolately. The cannoli was really great! Best around. Love the strawberry frosted donuts. For as long as I can remember we always had birthday cakes with their spectacular buttercream icing. So many memories eating their lemon meringue pie with my grandmother, it was her favorite anywhere. They now have donut holes which is awesome for the kids, since the donuts are big and sometimes hard for little hands to hold. Amazing sticky buns, great Danish and cookies. Any time I'm in the area and get a chance I will stop in and load up. If you haven't been you need to go, the line will be worth the wait. Parking is sometimes tough, again, it will be worth it. Ordered a cake for my fiancée's birthday. Just a nice personal cake for about 6-8 people. The cake looked great and tasted even better. I wish they were a vendor option for our wedding, they would have the job hands down. The staff was nice and pleasant and the store was clean. Seemed to be more of a take out place in my opinion but I believe they had a couple tables if you wanted to stick around and have a donut or something. I would never go to L&M bakery again I ordered a cake for my daughter's 26th birthday. She asked for lots and lots of flowers. I told the lady on the phone that I want lots of flowers on the cake that I would pay extra I just went and picked it up. It was nothing like I requested.
