Recently visited downtown Moorestown to grab a quick dessert bc of a sweet tooth. I popped into Cupcake Carnivale and was greeted by a gentleman who was very warm and attentive. He let me to peruse the options before I made some decisions. I went with two Bob Kelly cupcakes, one strawberry crunch, one peanut butter and chocolate cupcake and another chocolate ganache cupcake. I can't remember the last flavor, but I do recall the gentleman saying if I ordered six cupcakes there would be a discount. So, I know I grabbed 6. The prices were reasonable and I was happy with the pleasant experience. I left and ran to my car so I could try the chocolate ganache. Let's just say it was gone before I made it home. The chocolate was delicious and the cupcake itself was fluffy, sweet (not overpowering) and delectable. We finished the rest of the cupcakes over the weekend and loved each one we tried. I will definitely stop by again during my next downtime Moorestown adventure. read more

This cute lil shop on Main Street always caught my eye & we had to finally check it out. The store itself is small, no seating on the inside. We sat outside under the warm sun to try our tasty treats. The display case itself hade maybe like a dozen different flavors, most were common & some were not. We went when the MLB playoffs were happening & learned our baker was a Yankees fan. We bought 4 different flavors, all of which were tasty. You could tell that the cupcakes we had gotten were from the night before b/c they were still very cold, maybe even frozen. Icing was good, not overly sweet. WOuld have preferred to pick other flavors there (like Cookies & cream) but the flavors we picked were the ones available. Price for the cupcakes is comparable to other "cupcakeries". I definitely want to return to try a cookies & cream flavor profile & other flavors too. Otherwise the overall rating is good! read more

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Cupcake Carnivale. The owner was so friendly and explained pricing and flavors to us in great detail. He was all by himself making cupcakes, ringing up orders... he was really busting his hump! The cupcakes were very tasty as well and he even informed us that they were in a refrigerated case and would be best if left to come to room temp for 15 mins (he was right). I would much rather spend my money at a small business where someone is working hard to deliver great products than a chain where it's just mediocre at best. read more

Being new to the area, my wife and I walked along Main Street in Moorestown to see what businesses, and restaurants, there were. We happened to venture into the Cupcake Carnivale. Pleased with the appearance of the goods offered, we tried a few. It was a pleasant experience as we enjoyed our samples. Since then (only 2 weeks later) we have visited Jeffery several times and enjoy his tarts and cupcakes each night for desert. While the shop is small, the smell of freshly baked cupcakes will keep you coming back again and again. Jeffery is very pleasant to talk to, and will make you feel welcome each time you visit. Second time here both times the cupcakes were excellent. I would recommend letting them sit out for about a half hour before you eat them, I know they tell you 15 to 20 minutes, but I like mine a little more room temperature. I feel like people are hating on the cupcakes for being cold, just let them sit longer and you want have an issue. I really like the adult style cupcakes that they had this time: margarita and pina colada, nice change of pace. Last time I was here they had a banana peanut butter pudding cup which was awesome. I like that there are tons of different options and that they are always mixing things up. The music, the staff, the atmosphere, the cozy little spot on main street in Moorestown.. It's great. There are a lot of food trucks, especially desserts around but Cupcake Carnivale remains my favorite. Recently I tried the red velvet, Oreo, strawberry lemonade, and cotton candy and all four were perfectly. I will say the cotton candy was one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. In fact, I wish Cupcake Carnivale had catered my wedding (and so did my husband!). All four were perfect. They each had a lot of frosting as well as the cake was baked well. Fantastic cupcakes!!!! My favorite by far is the heath bar cupcake which has a heath bar crunchy coating for the topping and a delicious, moist chocolate cupcake. They change up their offerings weekly, but they always offer the vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. Either one is a good choice as well. Other favorites include the red velvet with cream cheese icing, the pumpkin flavored, and the apple cider cupcake. If you buy 6 you get 1 free. If you by 12 you get 2 free.They range around $2.75-$3.25, and while they're not huge, I think they're worth the price as a nice splurge. Join their facebook group so that you can check when they will be in your area (usually either Drexel University area or Community College/Spring Garden area). If you want an exquisitely delicious cupcake, try one of Cupcake Carnivale's. I bought four yesterday afternoon and just tried the chocolate mint. It was fresh and definitely has a chocolate mint flavor. The cake was moist, not underdone, just baked to perfection and the frosting was creamy and luscious. They also have flavors like Boston Cream, Red Velvet, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Birthday Cake, Blueberry Cream Cheese, and others. You may want to call and check with them on opening and closing times as they, like many small businesses, are short-staffed. They opened at 3:00 pm when I stopped by as they were setting up the refrigerator case which he was doing but managed to help me at the same time. Help support a small business and stop in. You will not be disappointed. I also wanted to add that I am a good baker and definitely know the difference in ingredients. The review that compared them to Shoprite cupcakes is definitely untrue! it is obvious he uses butter and top-notch ingredients in the frosting and cupcake. The prices are comparable to Whole Foods Bakery, which is reasonable for quality cupcakes and these are better. Anyone who thinks they are over frosted or too sweet is probably not an aficionado of dessert. I think Whoopie Pies and S'Mores are sickeningly sweet and these are not. read more

Very nice staff however the product was a miss. The cupcakes had a nice presentation but the flavor was off. The cake seemed like the batter wasn't well mixed as it had inconsistencies throughout the cupcake. One bite tasted like corn bread and the next bite tasted like cake. The flavor profile of the frosting was also a bit off. I couldn't tell what the flavor was meant to taste like; it just wasn't well executed. So I initially came across pictures of their cupcakes on Twitter and I was desperate to try them. Whoever takes their pictures does an amazinggg job. Since this is a truck on the move, I waited patiently for them to come to Philadelphia. They are really good about advertising where they'll be. My friend has been following this food truck on social media waiting for the chance to go for a while now. I'm honestly not a big fan of cupcakes but don't say no to trying desserts! I would say these cupcakes are super fun. Between the bright colored icing, the fun designs, the toppings, it makes your eyes light up. There's a good ratio of icing to cake, which tends to be a problem with a lot of cupcakes. Now the icing was pretty good, not too sweet but you can taste the flavor. Okay so the cupcakes are phenomenal. The cake is moist and the icing is perfectly sweet. This year for Thanksgiving my mom got our desserts from here. Best decision ever. The absolute worst service I have witnessed in a long time. I went in to the Cupcake Carnival a few days back and ordered a 12 pack of cupcakes. The young women at the front looked terrified when what I assumed to be the owner came up behind her and practically slapped her hand out of the way. He was incredibly rude to me when I had simply switched my order around a couple of times.
