    a variety of baked goods
    Amelia S.

Came here while waiting for my dinner from King's Pizzeria (highly recommend the pizzeria). Ordered 10 rainbow cookies, 10 of the butter cookies with sprinkles, 1 black and white, 1 chocolate roll up flaky thing. Spent $25. Thought it was ok priced but not for the quality. All the pastries were dry and stale. The black and white was really bad in particular. Had a hard candy shell instead of icing. The rainbow cookies tasted like the stop & shop cookies that were left out to dry. The butter cookies were so dry and stale. They had little jam filling. Really disappointing. Will not go back.

I wish I really had more positive things to say as this bakery is across from my job and super convenient. But it's very evident that they do not store their baked food properly. I really wanted to give this place a shot despite poor reviews. But it's true. It's just very underwhelming. I heard East Brunswick location may be better. But I can't even try after this poor experience. The cupcake is literally dry and hard outside and in. Cookie I was told is soft baked. Lol lies. Hard as a rock and crumbled in my hands.

Canoli wasn't too bad, the crust a little bit soft. The carrot cake slice was amazing !! Not from the area, 45 mins away we were in the area & needed a bday cake. Definitely will come again

The cake here is delicious. Not too sweet and very decadent. The service was amazing, Delusha was very helpful and friendly.

Small bake shop, friendly service, not so sure that a good apple turnover should go for $1.99.

I went to the Kendall Park location, and I ordered a piece of red velvet cake. It tasted stale, like it was 3 days old. It cost $3.50.

Let's play a game: Amanda's top 5 foods:…read more -cinnamon rolls -biscuits and gravy -ribeyes -fried scallops -crab legs Ruby's has at least one of those. My local FB group posted a quick review of the cinnamon rolls so I had to check for myself. When I got there, no rolls were in the display case. I was just about to try something else when the person working the register told me there were some that had just been baked. I ordered two because. I walked back to my car to enjoy them by the fall leaves like a bootleg Hallmark movie. They were delicious. Soft and fluffy, lightly glazed, and not overly sweet. I loved them. So much so I went back the next day but they only had them unglazed. So I had to pass. Side note: they also have the festive Canada Dry flavors you only find during the holidays. Love that. This is a cute neighborhood spot. You can even see the ladies in the back kneading the dough and making the pastries. I'll def be back to support it! Seen the signage for this bakery while driving on Middlebush Lane but have always been on the go…read morethat I never stopped by. Todays was at leisure and while passing by made an impromptu stop and decided to check out this bakery. Run by a mother son duo , it's a cute bakery selling authentic Mexican pastries. The ambience is nothing fancy . The standard display case showcasing their pastries , which are not seemingly very attractive, but their service wraps it all up into a pretty package. They have a coffee station and a cooler with sodas and other cold beverages Conchas, Sweet roll, Gusanitos , Sweet empanadas , croissants, Dressed Concha's , Tostadas, Sweet corn muffin and cake. Many of these were new to me. But I wanted to try the sweet roll and dressed mini Chocolate Concha's . They gave us complimentary vanilla topped concha's and a sweet corn muffin to try . Nothing was cloyingly sweet . Simple basic flavors but baked to perfection. Sweet roll and cone muffin was nothing unique but was a good combo with hot coffee. The concha's topping was the sugary based icing that made the pastry texture interesting. Crisp sugar coated exterior with a soft interior. I found different from anything i have tried before. I felt all pastries were a bit eggy for my taste , but it may be the nature of the pastry itself. They cater for events and among other things they make colorful Corazonchas which are heart shaped concha's that could be a good substitute for standard cookies at a gathering. I would recommend trying this spot to get a taste of Mexican style pastries.

They sure had woman behind the counter was very nice and helped me right away. When I got home we ( my Mom, Dad, and I tried a cookie. We all thought it was unfortunately too dry and pretty tasteless. Later on we tried the Irish Soda bread which we did not particularly like as well. That too was very dry and kind of crumbly. The coating of flour on top was too much and left a dryness in my mouth. It was not a good experience for me and I'm not sure if I'll ever go back.

I'm always on the hunt for good donuts in general so I was hype to try something outside of DD. I got a box full of assorted donuts - the maple bacon and cinnamon looked especially good. I got a cronut (legit one of my fave donuts ever) for a car snack. Mind ya business. I'm not gonna lie. My box of dough and sidecar were $31. Pricey! But the service was warm, the donuts looked fresh and airy, and the other items - braided breads, cookies, etc. enticed me to visit again in the near future. Happy to spend my money in a local business. Also, the cronut was fantastic. So light, perfect tasting icing, great layers. I'd like to think I chose wisely.
