Top left: Butterscotch pastry Top right: Mango Strawberry pastry Bottom: Gulab Jamun pastry

I ordered four different pastries: Butterscotch, Mango Strawberry, Gulab Jamun cake, and Mango. The quality and price are excellent. Each bite brought me back to the good ole days in India when I used to buy pastries from a famous bakery on my way back from school. Each piece is only $2, and it's a bargain. I have a sweet tooth, so my personal favorite was Gulab Jamun and Mango Strawberry. The Gulab Jamun pastry had medium-sized chunks of gulab jamun, which was very surprising because I thought it would only have its flavoring. The Mango Strawberry cake is also another favorite because it has two flavor profiles: sweet from the mango and tangy from the strawberry, which is one of the best combinations. The butterscotch was very soft and almost crumbly, which I don't like, but my friends loved it. Lastly, the mango pastry is a classic with a chocolate drizzle on top. Overall, the pastries were moist and covered in its respective buttercream. The frosting is super light, yet creamy and not overly sweet. This location is one of my favorite shops for a delicious dessert. PS: All pastries and cakes are eggless.

We stopped here to grab a quick snack. Heard great things about their curry puffs and pastries. The place looked like a small local bakery smelling of fresh bread and pastries. We ordered chicken, paneer, aloo and egg puffs. We were lucky to be there at a time when they were coming out fresh. The chicken was my favorite. It tasted great and the masala was amazing. We also ordered some pineapple, mango pastries and butterscotch pastries to go, and weren't disappointed at all. The cream was light and sweet. Tasted pretty close to the pastries in India. The prices seemed pretty reasonable for the portion size. Not very pleased with the upkeep of the place or the service. I wish they could put in a tad bit more effort.

I have only tried their cakes and pastries. The pineapple one is my favorite. The cream is light, airy, and just the perfect amount of sweet. The pastry/cake is moist and creamily tender. I've always gotten takeout. The staff is always polite and respectful. Most recently i ordered a smashcake for my sons 1st birthday. It came beyond our expectations. Definitely ordering from here again.

It's an Indian snack, south Indian and dessert place. We tried a few of their pastries - pineapple, black forest and chocolate one. The chocolate one was a little too sweet, pineapple and black forest both were delicious. We were told that the pineapple one is without egg- it tasted really fresh and soft. There were many breads, rolls, fruit cakes- said the breads were made their and were egg less too. The server who it seems was the owner was a friendly guy and explained about his products. They had paninis, chicken and paneer sandwiches and wraps too. We asked for chicken sandwiches, but they didn't have at that time. Average looking place, not very fancy with few seats inside.

It is an amazing place to enjoy South Indian dishes. Best part about them is that among South Indian restaurants, they are totally value for money. Super delicious, good quantity and rightly priced dishes.

We were looking for a cake and decided to stop in as they yelp posting stated they make egg less cake. When we walked in on a Sunday afternoon the display case was empty and were told cakes are made to order. I wanted to order food but it was fast food only. The place is rather small and felt as though I would be sitting elbow to elbow with others and did not want that.

My brother in law tells me, they opened a place called Pino's in Dix Hills! Nah, can't be the place. Sure enough, "Pino's" is the new location of Salpino's in Dix Hills! Is it really Dix Hills? It's so close to Huntington and my wife went to walt whitman high school. This stripmall back in the day, my father in law would get bagels and the NY Times every Sunday. To have this beautiful market in the old Pathmark spot warms my heart. We swung by on a Saturday to check out the new digs. The new location is big, there's a large deli counter, bakery section and meat department making homemade sausages. My wife starts shopping and zeros in on a few items like fresh lamb sausages? I see frozen pizzas from Italy (that's on sale) and grab two for late nite snacks with my sons. I order at the deli two heroes, Son of a Peach and the The Crispy Caprese sandwich. The counterperson tells me, its going to take a while to prep, he has to fry the tomatoes. I'm not in a rush, take your time young man! While we're waiting, another deli guy tells us to try the pastrami at the other end of the counter. He's slicing it up now. Be still my heart. The pastrami? Man.. I loved it. I was just at Katz (They used my picture on Yelp for a few months), there's no need to make a comparison. It's an Italian deli. I think the pastrami was very good and we brought a nice amount home. Interesting, I was told Mr. Salpino himself was slicing the pastrami?? I just dig that, my dad owned a supermarket in the Hamptons and I know how proud he's feeling opening a new location. Back to sandwiches! Son of a Peach sandwich? 10 Yelp stars. packed with Prosciutto, arugula, burrata, Sicilian peaches and finished with a hot honey drizzle. It's by far my favorite sandwich. The Crispy Caprese sandwich, breaded and fried mozzarella and breaded and fried tomatoes with a pesto drizzle. My wife and I each take a bite, wow. Just wow. Killer sandwich and here's something I have to mention. Pino's is using quality ingredients, that's why their sandwiches pop. My niece is home from college, I picked up dessert for the night at the bakery section. Lobster tails stuffed, each stuffed with cannoli cream, pistachio cream and custard. C'mom now! so soo good! Here's the thing about any Italian market. The people are so friendly. The woman checking us out is answering questions and telling us about the catering they offer. Pino's? You totally rocked it. They were still doing a soft opening when I visited, so service was a little slow, but it was worth the wait! Grabbed the Son of a Peach sandwich for lunch. Prosciutto, arugula, burrata, peaches and hot honey. Talk about amazing flavors that compliment each other! I will definitely be going back for this one. Sandwich was decent sized for the price. Not as huge as some other places, but I wasn't disappointed. Definitely check this place out if you live or work in the area!
