Went there twice so far. The first time I had a hamburger that was tasty and came with delicious fries. The second time I wanted the cavatelli with broccoli-rabe but they were out of it. I settled on the rigatoni bolognese and it was real good. My wife had spaghetti and spinach she loved it. I gotta give this place 5 stars for the portobello shrimp appetizer alone. Flavor was fantastic and the portobello tasted incredibly fresh. Would definitely recommend. Also tried their octopus which was tasty, if slightly on the chewier side. All in all, one of the better places on Hylan Blvd to eat. read more

One of my favorite restaurants on the island! They have amazing food and great service, all at an extremely reasonable price. My favorites are the fried calamari, skirt steak, and creamy saganaki. They also have delicious homemade iced tea that will quench your thirst on a hot summer day. And it's even better when enjoyed on their cozy outdoor patio. The service here is always great as well, they check up on you but don't bother you too much. And I always see the owner walking around to introduce himself and thank the patrons. This cozy little place in Staten Island is the DEFINITION of "Good Restaurant". We were cold, hungry, exhausted visiting Staten Island during COVID from across the river to make the best out of exploring new places in a winter day. We wished to taste food locally, before going back home. We called several places, frozen, but none of them had outdoor dinning. Then, Cafe Latte magically said yes! It turned out they had such a LOVELY outdoor dining area: fully heated, pretty, interesting, even a bit romantic. The enormous portion of every single dish they served shows their Staten Island hospitality. I don't remember the names of the dishes anymore but everything served is delicious and elegant with a surprising twist. Our waiter was so friendly, professional, observant, thoughtful, generous, that alone makes this place a 5 star destination. We lingered until it became too late, simply became we like to hang out there. And we'd like to go back to Staten Island because of Cafe Latte, a place with a simple name yet 5 star hospitality! read more

The waitress was reluctant to tend to us. The place seemed like an Albanian front for other possible under the table business. There were men going in and out but nobody else ordering food or drinks. The chicken dish had two pieces of dark hair in it. It was gross to see how unsanitary their cook could be with food preparation. read more

This cute little joint is a hidden gem, too close to Hylan to be noticed for it's class and too far to be noticed on the drive by. Then there's the name which may mislead passerbys to think they will be getting muffins and lattes ala starbucks, when in fact it's a pretty full European menu. Perfectly grilled meat on the pleskavica (Balkan Hamburger). Good coffee. Amazing beef liver! My one complaint is I wish I could get a salad with an entree sometimes instead of fries. You can order a salad and they're good but really entree size and then we're talking $25 for more food than i need for lunch. But aside from that, the pricing is excellent for generous portions if not as inexpensive as Alba down the street with similar fare. I guess, the price differential is for "atmosphere." It's a beautiful space and the staff is very professional. Fair warning to tourists, the Albanian guys at the bard will stare at you for a few awkward seconds when you walk in and they wonder why you are there but then they go back to shouting at each other about soccer in English, Albanian and Serbo-Croatian while dance music blares in the background. read more

I have been here several times. The first time was a bit of a random try as it is in a bit of a tough to see spot. But such a happy accident. Went later on in the day on a Sunday and have to say, felt like was walking into a spot in Europe. Small, (until i realized they have an upstairs were there were a bunch of guys watching a soccer match and yelling at the tv) - def continued the European vibe. The fist time we only had coffee (excellent BTW) and crepes w/nutella - soooo good.. reminded me of grandma. Also they were not in a rush to get us out... we lingered over coffee and were deep in conversation without being rushed. The 2nd time we had lunch - we had the grilled Octopus which was amazing - not rubbery at all - they obviously buy the Portuguese / European because it was delicious. Fried Calamari - also really good and the Olive Tapenade with pita dipping bread. - excellent. Have been back for the crepes and nutella a few times after dinner! Cafe Latte hosted a happy hour for our engagement and did a fantastic job. We closed the Cafe for this private event and ordered their catered food and opened the bar for drinks. The waitstaff was excellent, attentive and provided superior service. The food was excellent and received many positive compliments from the guests. We had beef, seafood and vegetables, in addition to their appetizers of dips and fresh breads. The food has variety and is special (not typical, it's the stuff you do not cook yourself). I would definitely repeat booking a special event in the future. Finally, the coffee, espresso and cappuccino are all very high quality. This place is a hidden gem. it's on the side of the street but it makes up in beautiful Decour and very cozy atmosphere. They have very good coffee cappuccino's and their food is delicious. Wow. So I don't usually write a review after only one visit to a restaurant, but this is a special case. First, a moment of silence for the lobster that I just inhaled. He died for a good cause... And was yummy! I ordered the lobster ravioli (under $14) for lunch today. Had a cappuccino while I waited. The ravioli was perfect. I couldn't possibly imagine any way to improve this meal. There was a good amount of meat in there, too, which is something I always worry about when ordering things like this. And the sauce!!!! Thank god for the bread... Dipping the bread in the leftover sauce is less weird than drinking it... Which may be frowned upon in many social situations... But you just can't throw away a drop of the sauce. So... Carb out, my friends (and there's a ton of bread with the meal which is served warm, soft, and wonderful). Walking into the restaurant was a bit like walking into someone's living room uninvited... Good and bad. Good, because the decor is nice, cozy, clean. Bad, because the people in the place immediately ceased the conversation and stared at me, as if to say, "who are you?" Love the staff, the coffee, the food and the atmosphere! I stopped by one day to get a cappuccino and the coffee and milk were so fresh and delicious that I started coming back every week when I was in the area. The owners and staff are all so welcoming and kind and made me want to come back for food...and I'm so glad I did! It's modern European/Mediterranean focused food and it's interesting but light. For appetizers, I love love the calamari. It's the perfect texture (not rubbery with a light crust) and the sauce is awesome. It's not a classic heavy tomato-ey marinara it's a fresher, lighter tomato sauce that's spiced well and makes me never want to eat calamari with traditional marinara again. The lobster ravioli is my personal favorite dish. It's absolutely amazing because it doesn't taste fishy or like fake/frozen seafood and the pink sauce it's in is creamy and the perfect mix of salty and sweet. My bf's favorite dish is the tortellini Alfredo with shrimp- it's a lot of food and the cream sauce tastes like its homemade, not from a jar, which is so noticeable with Alfredo sauce. I also love the village salad and cafe latte salad because they're simple ingredients but ALWAYS fresh vegetables and super fresh cheese and yummy dressings--the strawberry dressing on the cafe latte salad is especially good (I get a light amount of dressing). And finally, I recommend the grilled skirt steak. Whatever they marinate it with is so good and honestly it's an amazing price for the dish you get. read more

Went to café latte today. Tried to go for lunch. Since I only have an hour for lunch as I walked into the restaurant with two of my friends we asked would we be able to be seated and out within the hour. We were looked at like we had several heads and the waiter seem to not understand what we were saying. Our friend had warned us that she had tried to eat lunch there and the service was not good. There was a gentleman who appeared to be a chef he told us it depends what you're going to eat. We replied salads. He said sure sure have a seat. We sat down we waited about five minutes we weren't even served water at that point. What I assumed was the waiter was standing by the bar looking through papers not even at acknowledging us. We agreed, let's give them two more minutes and then we'll go somewhere else. We gave them three more minutes and we left the restaurant. We went across the street to Pasticceria Bruno we were served a delicious lunch and out in 45 minutes. read more

Was there for dinner tonight. Amaaaazing. We started with the Village salad - delicious and more than enough for the three of us (2 adults and a child). My daughter got grilled chicken kabobs with French fries - the chicken was juicy and flavorful. My husband and I had the branzino with veggies. Sooo delicious! I'm somewhat picky about my fish but this was cooked perfectly. The veggies were delicious. The bread was nice and hot and was perfect to scoop up all of the juices off the plate. Service was great and quick. Our young lady was very sweet and attentive to whatever we needed. The people at the bar do turn around to look at you when you walk in but I think they're trying to figure out if they know you since it's a family-owned place. We'll definitely be back. read more
