    Delicious Shrimp Double!
    Patricia M.

Delicious shrimp and chicken doubles with some refreshing sorrel in the pics! We've also had their chicken and goat roti, and enjoyed it! Awesome service from Annie and her staff, thank you!

The young lady who help me was very friendly and helpful... I've never tried this kind of food before so I just randomly walked in to grab a quick bite nothing too heavy and that was fast. The chicken doubles were amazing I want to go back and get four more, two was not enough. I'm for sure going to come back and try other options on the menu and the restaurant was pretty clean!

The good: the food is AWESOME. The flavors are on Point. Everything is freshly made in house. You'll get to experience authentic, home-cooked Trinidadian delights. Great variety, seasonal and holiday items, and also desserts and drinks. I often try something new and each time I do I am never disappointed. Not so good: because the food is so good this place is very popular. So if you're going on a weekend or the evening you are better off calling your order in ahead of time. Today we waited 25 minutes for our food and was about to leave. It gets crowded and they need a better process for taking and for filling orders. A couple of people walked out because they didn't want to wait till that is lost business.

buss up shut dhal pouri with pumpkin & chana

I was super excited to find a roti shop in the area and Hot on D Spot did not disappoint in the slightest! I ordered a dhal puri with fillings of pumpkin and chana. The dhal puri had a good proportion of split peas to roti. I asked for hot sauce and the amount was perfect to give the filling a kick of spice. The portion was massive and well worth the $8-I could only eat half and saved the rest for later. Service was quick, I placed my order for pickup and the food was hot and ready by the time I arrived 15 minutes later.

Boneless curry chicken wrap with potatoes and chickpeas. Also, ordered ginger beer which was very good.

OMG! This small restaurant put out the best curry chicken and roti that I haven't had in a while. I found it on Yelp". Very friendly Indian women greet my husband and I. We ordered the boneless chicken wrap with potatoes and chickpeas was soooo goooooood, they got the season right. The wrap was huge. I should have ordered one and split with my husband but we took the remainder home. I ordered three roti and boneless curry chicken to go. I must say the flavor and the amount were on point. We will be going back to try the curry duck and salt fish and bake. I can't wait to visit this business again.

I was put on to this spot by a co-worker who happens to be trini. Located in the strip mall at the light across from Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton Parking is easy A few tables inside to sit if you wanted Staff was extremely friendly and attentive.... Indra was super sweet. I prefer Dhal Puri roti skin vs the plain/buss up shut roti skin in general ... the powdered chick peas give the roti more flavor... tried the boneless chicken . You have option for bone or boneless . You also can opt to have your meat or vegetables wrapped up inside the roti or on the side It's a huge portion - you can share it with someone or you are guaranteed to take a doggy bag home The chicken dhal puri was delicious! It's good with their pepper sauce which is basically trini hot sauce They also had dessert/ baked goods like currant roll I saw another patrons oxtail dinner and it looked delicious I will definitely be back :p

Oh Trenton, even though you are the state capital, you are tiny as far as cities go. But you are certainly broadening your food frontiers. Now along with great Asian and Latino choices, not to mention Eastern European, you can boast a very interesting Trinidadian spot. But in the interest of accuracy, the place is technically situated in Hamilton. In recent years the boundary between the 2 localities has been somewhat blurred I will admit. Thanks to a review by intrepid Yelper Gerald S., this place was on my to do list. A desire for something completely different steered me here finally. Upon entering I was enchanted by the aromas. All chefs were busy in the kitchen so I was not pressured into making a rush decision. I decided on a double, the boneless chicken roti, and a dessert in the small case intrigued me. The owner says it is called cassava bone, and looks a bit like pumpkin pie( it contains cassava, coconut and a small amount of pumpkin) The roti was tasty and very filling, I was pondering that this is a perfect chilly weather meal, esp for a meat n taters type of hunger. The seasoning was interesting and I did like the roti part of it too, and found that the powdered chick peas in between the layers to be a tasty if somewhat messy treat. The double was even better, I would considering buying several and freezing to use as a side dish or snack. The dessert was pumpkin pie-esque, but with hints of coconut. I imagined how good it would be with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, sadly, I had neither Roy, the owner is very friendly, and very confident in his food. He was sure that I would come back again, and I think he is right. Even though the menu is small, there were still several items I was curious about. I'm thrilled to have been able to sample such an exotic cuisine only a few miles from my house, 4 hot Yelps.

Unfortunately, they were out when I arrived, which was a bit of a letdown since that was the main reason for my visit. That said, I pivoted and ordered a double instead, and it turned out to be a solid choice. The double was flavorful, especially with the added peppers, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. At just $3, it's hard to argue with the value -- a very fair price for a quick, satisfying bite. Overall, the food itself was good and definitely scratched the Caribbean street-food itch. The ambiance was standard and clean. My only real disappointment was the lack of salt and bake, since it's something I was genuinely looking forward to trying. Still, if you're in the area and craving an affordable, tasty double, this spot delivers. I'll likely give it another shot in hopes of catching the full menu next time.

It is in the parking lot of Walmart/Home Depot but closer to the BJ's side. The wait was a bit long to order the food. They have a great ordering system in that they have a megaphone to call out your receipt number. I had a bit of a wait to receive my food. I initially went for corn soup and I should have just stopped ordering right there. The corn soup was very tasty. I didn't care for the dumplings that they had in it though. I poured pepper in my soup and it was real nice. I should have gotten two soups. I got an aloo pie with channa, pepper, tamarind, mango, cucumber, and chadon beni. This could have used more flavor, which is surprising, especially with all of the toppings on it. I got bake and saltfish with tamarind and pepper. I truly did not like or enjoy this at all. I took one bite and knew I shouldn't eat anymore. I took another bite to be sure and after that bite decided to just take my L and throw it all out. The saltfish was rubbery, at room temperature, and it tasted off. The bake itself seemed like it would taste okay but it was soggy and soaking in liquid. I literally opened this shortly after getting it so i don't know how the bake could be so soggy. I would not recommend the bake and saltfish at all. The aloo pie is okay but it wasn't giving what it needed to give. However, the corn soup was delicious. Def go for the corn soup.
