78/100 Lua Vietnamese Cuisine was a polarized experience -…read moreon one hand the food was way better than I was expecting, but on the other hand, the interior was a bit grimy and wait time was long (for service, but not for food to arrive) even though most of the restaurant was empty. --- I dined for weekday lunch as a party of four at Lua Vietnamese Cuisine. There were many empty tables with dirty dishes left on them, which to me suggested they were understaffed that day. To my knowledge, Lua was recently constructed, however the booth seating was already ripping and the floor and booth seams were honestly grimy. I would've expected those from a hole in the wall restaurant, but it looks really modern and "elevated" inside. My menu was dirty and I didn't realize it was missing some pages (because the pages ripped from the staple) so I thought the menu was a lot smaller than it was. I hope they find a better way of cleaning the restaurant interior and menus, and update the menus to higher quality. I ordered (S3)- Vietnamese Dried Noodles, which came with a bowl of soup. The rest of my party ordered (A16)- Butter Glazed Fried Quail and (B4)- Grilled Pork and Spring Roll on Rice Vermicelli. -I ended up eating the (S3) Dried Noodles for four days because of the shear quantity of them, so to me it was incredible value. And it had a fair portion of seafood and the flavor was actually surprisingly super delicious, if not a bit sweet. I had an upset stomach that day and was happily surprised this dish came with soup. I would reorder this, especially if I was hungry. -For me, the quail (A16) was a little dry but well seasoned. There were two quails in the serving. I would reorder this again only if I was craving small bites. - The pork chop (B4) was on the above average side in terms of taste, but fairly large in terms of size. There was rice, spring roll, egg omlette, along with other sides. Overall, Lua Vietnamese Restaurant had an extensive menu and I really enjoyed the food. However, while the food was quick to come out, the table service was painfully slow and the interior was grimy. I'd recommend giving it a try if you're in the area, but not in a rush.

They have Pho Wednesdays where you get a delicious meal for an affordable price. You can either dine in or get takeout for this deal. I've had the pleasure of doing both and I'm impressed with the Togo packaging and it's usually warm when I get home. The service is prompt based on the day/time of visiting but it is a nice atmosphere for eating some good Vietnamese food especially during the winter months. I love the various drinks and desserts they provide too so please make sure you hungry when you visit!

Theyre sweet and sticky. Slightly crispy. The lemongrass tofu banh mi hit the spot. The lemongrass flavor shines in the marinated tofu. The tofu was soft and smooshed, versus the typical grilled tofu I have on these sandwiches. It seemed like it was mimicking chicken. My date loved his brisket pho. The wings took longer than our entrees. Would come back.

They have many menu options ranging from preset poke bowls, to make your own, combo meals, and mini meals. Drinks are about $2.50 a piece, and a wide variety of Hawaiian Sun, casual soda. I was tempted to get the mini meal since I don't eat a lot, but I ultimately caved and decided to get the combo meal since I wanted to try the Kailua pork too. The verdict? The Kailua pork was a little too salty for me, it comes mixed with like cabbage or lettuce, and overall very mushy which I didn't mind. However the Chicken Katsu came with a bbq type sauce and everyone thought the sauce was delicious. My fiance ordered the bbq mix which included the bbq chicken, beef, and short ribs and I thought the beef was so yummy. The portion size was big. All the combos come with either 1-2 scoops of rice and macaroni salad. My meal was pretty perfect for 2 whole meals for me. I ate the katsu with my leftover rice for breakfast the next morning! The food comes in takeout containers which makes it very easy for you to take to go if you don't finish. I might have to come back and try the poke next time...

I had the Lasooni Paneer Roll and specified mild- and assorted pakora while my wife had a Chana Masala roll and asked for it spicy - and a vada pav for later. Our order was read to us to confirm and we even triple validated on the register screen. The order was prepared quickly (as we were the only ones there aside from a family leaving. I began with the pakora before we even got in the car and these were delicious. Crispy and no oily residue left on the fingers. It came with a green chutney but could have used a tamarind chutney. The rolls are split in half and wrapped individually. My wife said on her chana roll the flatbread itself was good but the stuffing was overly salty. It also wasn't spicy enough for her. As I opened my Paneer roll, I noted it was pretty sloppy- there were chunks of paneer outside of the wrap under the wax paper layer. Ok fine, as long as it tastes good. As I went to take a bite I noticed an unusual amount of chili flakes. Oh no, did they mix up the spice levels even though we triple checked? Yep. Inedible. Worst part was my wife tried it and said it was just chili flakes that they used and it didn't add or help the flavor just added heat. I tried her vada pav as a substitute but as with the chana- overly salted. Great start with the pakora but poor quality control especially with us having the only order at the time.
