We had lunch here on a weekday. Not that busy. We ordered Peruvian Shrimp Fried Rice and half order of Peruvian Roasted Chicken. The fried rice has a lot of shrimps in it and taste great. The roasted chicken is soft, moist and delicious. Serving staff is friendly and helpful. Well lighted dining area and nice decor. My only concern is parking. There's a few parking spaces in-front of this restaurant, just be careful of incoming vehicles on Smith Street, a main busy street. The Supermarket next to it doesn't allow parking for restaurant diners. Towing is strictly enforced. read more

My go to Peruvian chicken spot! The green sauce (ahi) never disappoints. The service is not the greatest but they are always busy so it's understandable. The place smells like strong seafood so if you don't like seafood don't dine in. The ambiance is ok. read more

SE Salio El Pollo - Chicken, Ahi, fries and rice! - Peruvian Near Me - Perth Amboy, New Jersey

THE BEST Peruvian food I have ever had. Everything I've tasted is delicious and full of flavor. I visit very often and I am never disappointed. I even had my birthday dinner here one year and everyone at my party was satisfied (even my picky boyfriend). Ordering the chaufa (rice) is a must. The chicken is also very tender. I eat everything, I mean EVERYTHING with the green sauce that they serve. Give it a try and you won't regret it. It is so tasty and adds that much more flavor. The only reason for the four stars is because one of the waiters at this restaurant is extremely unfriendly. She doesn't introduce herself, make recommendations, or ask how everything is. Other than that, this restaurant is all that and a bag of chips ! Haha. Enjoy! read more

It was good before. I don't know what happened. I ordered papa rellena inside the filling it was all dried beef it did look good at all. I ordered tallarines verdes with carne the beef was old it didn't look fresh. Regret to go there to eat. read more

The food here is amazing. It is well made, authentic, and generously portioned. It is the best and most authentic Peruvian restaurant in the area. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall. The parking situation is tough. They only have 4-5 spots allocated to them. You may need to find street parking or just park in the grocery store next door's spots. The place is very clean. Very simply decorated. Service needs improvement. Def a perk if you speak Spanish. read more

Costumer service Sucks! Idk if he the owner or not but , his actitud is so unprofessional. He started yelling to his employees in front of costumers. The restaurant may had their rules but there is a way how to explain to costumers and not with an actitud. Foods are ok. read more

Horrible service. Ignore customer and food takes forever to get table. When it came to the table cold Waitress rude. All they kept doing was counting money in register read more

Portions a great the wait is sometimes a little long but definitely worth the wait. I love coming here to get some real authentic food!

Very good Peruvian food. 10/10 would eat again. The pollo a la brasa is bangin'. The churasco is good aswell. They will charge you like 4% extra if you use credit card which sucks. read more

Amazing! I absolutely love the food here. I've ordered from here so many times and have dined in as well. Take out is not a hassle. But dining in... Blah. My waitress seemed like she had no Idea of hot to be a server. She didn't seem like she was nee since she had enough knowledge of the menu but she was a mess. But on to the food and quality: My favorite is the lomo salteado and yuca fries. It's absolutely amazing. They also make good papa a la huancaina(however it's spelled). The food always tastes fresh and the fries taste like they ate made in freshboil which is totally a big deal for me. Overall... Amazing read more

This place is kinda a dump. Never tried Peruvian food my grandma use to make papas a la hualquaina so I went there for it, it was nasty, I also had the steak bits with rice and fries nah thanks wasn't feeling it. Won't go back or try Peruvian food again. read more

I went today to eat because a friend recommended the place. The employees have a bad way of serving.

It was one of the places open for indoor dinning. The food was delicious, the chicken and fries being the best I've had. The plates were large. By far the best Peruvian food I've had. read more

Very friendly staff and super delicious food! My favorite restaurant ever 10/10 totally recommend

Food was ok. Ordered takeout and was told 1/2 hour only to wait an additional 20 minutes once I got there. If you want good Peruvian food, visit Sabor Peruano in Rahway. Prices are a bit higher but portions are big and food is delicious read more

My favorite thing I order from here is the Jalea. It's delicious and inexpensive (only $19!) with a large portion that can easily feed 4+ people, depending on how much you eat. The only problem with this place is that they barely answer the phone and they take a while to deliver, even though I'm literally 5 minutes away, lol. This is a great spot but they need more staff to accommodate demand. I also wish they were open more days of the week. read more

Place is outstanding! Use to be in a small, eye sore of a place but they recently moved and it is very very nice and clean. Food is still top notch and they have gotten fancy with their plating now. Highly recommend Edit: I probably should have put on here their mediocre service. They still aren't very attentive and their closing time is basically an hour before they actually close because they won't serve you if you come in 45 minutes before they close. When they mean close, they mean they are out of there at that time. They have lost my business to competitors several times because of this. read more

Let start off with saying the food is good not the best Peruvian restaurant I been to. I wasn't a fan of there service as well it took 2 hrs to wait for rice and everybody else got there food. Now I don't mind waiting but at least tell me there going to be a wait time. What suck also was I ask for about 5 things in the menu and they where sold out which also sucks because you would think how busy they get the owner or manager would be ready for anything. Would I come again? Yes I will but the question is when read more

I was so disappointed of this place. They do give you a lot a lot of food but they very thing was salty

The best Peruvian food in town ! Service is 10/10. The limo Saltado and Chaufa are my favorites.

I'm not an expert in Peruvian cuisine but I know good food and this was a 5 star experience. I am lucky this was my first (definitely not last) Peruvian cuisine experience and I loves every second of it. One of my best friends took me (he is Peruvian) and said this was the spot. We started off with the papa rellena which is a deep fried ball of mashed potato stuffed with ground beef and it is as good as it sounds. Also got the Ceviche de Mariscos (loaded with all different seafood including mussels shrimp and calamari ) liked HIGH and so fresh. I also suggest the Anticuchos (beef heart) BUT hear me out, it is so perfectly seasoned and cooked where it taste like a shish-kabob... the texture screams organ but if you don't mind that It's a home run. Of course I washed it down with an Inca cola and their house made chicha morada which is a purple homemade juice made from corn which was actually refreshing and satisfying. I respect their authenticity and always tell people about this place. read more

Food here is delicious but the service is terrible. We walked in here & get ignored by the so called hostess. She kept having conversations with someone already seated and literally ignored us. I asked her in Spanish, do I just seat myself and she went and ignored us again. Then she says yes go have a seat whenever you like. Now that we are seated I decided to run the stopwatch and literally timed how long they took to give us a menu. Almost 6 minutes later we get greeted & get our menus. This time she apologized for the wait, which I appreciate. My husband immediately said we not giving a tip. Now we know what we want, of course she asks what we wanted to drink. Another 5 minutes go by and boom our drinks arrive, She apologizes bc they have to ice. Like really you have no ice. We order our food, appetizer anticuchos (beef heart on a skewer) delicious! Then we get our entree. Food great! Service terrible. I have to say she apologized every single time, but she was attentive after. She redeemed herself. She tried but the other older lady is rude she let the younger waitress run all the tables instead of helping her out to expedite. The place needs decor it's all milk of magnesia color with other weird colors. They should focus on their environment, I expect it to be a foreign country type hole in the wall but even then a third world country would have better service. Not saying we won't go back but definitely not dining in anymore. At the end we tipped her. God knows how low her wages are. Anyway....... food is delicious just beware of the service and have patience. read more

Whether it's Peruvian, Colombian, Puerto Rican...I am all about some damn good Latin American food. Espeeeecccciiiaaallly when I am super hung over from incoherently ordering vodka bottle #2 the night before. As I come to my senses (vision and hearing still buzzy, taste and smell seem to be in order), I decide that comfort food is definitely in order for this day. Perfect opportunity to hit up the little Peruvian joint hidden away in a somewhat dingy looking stretch of stores. I appreciate artfully crafted food and linen table cloths but there's a little part of me that just has to try the somewhat dilapidated looking building that just screams local dive. First of all, I don't have a Spanish grandmother, but if I did, I am pretty sure these are what her portions would look like. Absolutely heaping piles of food! We ordered a mixed seafood dish, and some beef and veg fried rice. Everything had the flavors they were supposed to...robust and savory, but it was incredibly salty. I know some of these dishes are seasoned with a heavy hand but that salt threw me off. I had to glug water all day just to balance it out. Maybe I'll try it again sometime, I think they deliver locally...perfect for that demonic red bull and everything hangover lunch. read more

Ew! My husband and I ordered from this place last night and the food was horrible. Chicken was undercooked all pink inside, the beef on the chaufa was over cooked and chewy and rice tasted days old! food its ok, the chicken is really the only good thing there ......... not worth the customer service.

This place has the best Peruvian food hands down. You can smell how good the food is from outside, and this spot is always packed on Sundays no joke. Best bet is to order your food and pick it up if it's on a Sunday. The sizes they serve are more then generous so you can share a plate if need be. There's nothing I don't like so far to be honest, if it's your first time don't be shy order some lomo saltado or tallarín. I brought my bf here and he loves the food as well! read more

The food it great and portions are awesome... On the same breath they lack customer service/attention to detail skills.
