Patio dining is where it's at! We visited Filomena's Lakeview with another couple on a Wednesday evening. We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink at the bar, and we were so impressed by how friendly the bartenders were. They were engaging and social. They set off our evening on a high note! My Pink Jaguar cocktail was beautiful and caused quite a buzz among the bar patrons! We opted to sit outside, and we are glad we did. The space is open and breezy but fully covered. No need to worry if a passing shower makes its way overhead. Steamed clams in white wine and Truffle fries for the table to start. Yum! All entrees are accompanied by a house salad or Ceasar salad. Our group ordered the Limone Chicken, Chicken Sfiziosa, Steak Frite, and the Eggplant Meatballs/Risotto. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. We loved everything. I know their linguine is house made, but not certain of the other pasta varietals. Cheesecake and Cannoli for dessert, because why not? Really nice experience! Traveling in from Ohio for this week's 4th of July and stopped here before visiting family. The outside of the restaurant was very large. We arrived around 3:45 PM without reservations and they immediately took us to an open table. Iced Waters were instant. Our server was very pleasant and she took our order. Bread quickly followed with two types served: Italian with sesame seeds and focaccia; however I was puzzled that it was served with a plate of hot peppers and onions in a juice. It seemed off but perhaps it's a Jersey thing. I've been all over in Italy and have never seen this. Olive oil would have been fine along with a splash of balsamic vinegar. Either way I skipped bread condiments. Next came the Fried Tomatoes topped with Lump Crab as an appetizer, but once again I had another head-scratcher, as this dish wasn't typical. First the entire dish lacked seasoning plus salt. Then red tomatoes were used and we all know what happens when you try to fry one. It turns to water after you cut it. The lump crab is what probably made this dish pricey but 3 thinly slices of a red tomato caught me off guard. Now for the final knock out: I ordered the Bone In Pork Chop and impressed that I was asked how Iiked it prepared? I said 145 degrees. She said, you mean well- done. I stated no, that would be in a range of medium. Lo and behold, it was fantastically preparation temperature, but it came topped with the same peppers and onions concoction that came out with the bread. I had no idea that this was a smothered situation. My broccolini was also a mystery. The mashed potatoes were mid. Now on to my daughter's chicken Parmesan: She said that it lacked flavor and had to add salt and pepper and also stated that the sauce was loose and there was too little of it. My wife enjoyed her Salmon. Jersey is cooking differently!!!!! I forgot to add: Underneath of my pork chop I discovered a mysterious piece of corn. I had no corn in my dish?????? read more

We had a reservation in our seated promptly in the main dining room downstairs. It was very busy and lively in a good way. It was great for a group dining, however, if you are just on a date, it's not good for having a quiet conversation on a Friday night. The service was really good, the only negative is that I asked for water before my dessert arrived, and I was waiting for a really long time for the water. I do like they include bread service and salad with every entrée. I enjoyed my tortellini and scallop entrée and the portions are big. You can definitely bring something home and enjoy the next day as well. The parking lot is really big, plenty of free parking. My office has an annual banquet here and it is a nice place if not ideal for too many as the upstairs noise levels become loud. Service was pretty good and held up to the group's requests. Not a fan of the appetizer and dessert table in the front of the room as it is difficult to maneuver. Bathrooms could use some upgrades and attention. Parking lot is private and not a problem to find a spot. Meh- would not come here if not for the company events. read more

4 adults and 2 children arrived at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon May 15, 2026 after the Camden County college graduation ceremony. Restaurant was not empty in the least but plenty of tables were still available. It was busy. A super waitress (Mariah) was superb. One of the children is a super picky eater so we knew going in that finding something for him at this restaurant would be a challenge. Thank goodness the one thing he eats is french fries!! So he doesn't count in this review because he only had a plate of french fries for his meal. Having said that, the plate of fries was GYNORMOUS ($5) !! The waitress brought 2 baskets of warm bread and a plate of warm peppers in oil & spices for the table. Awesome for both items. The adult graduate and her two friends had a cocktail ... each had a Casamigos Tequila Blood Orange Margarita that they said was awesome ($14 each). The kids diet coke and lemonade ($3 each) and my plain ole club soda ($3). The 2 friends each had the chicken parmigiana ($26 each) which came with 2 large pounded flat breasts on top of a bed of pasta. They each took half home with them. My daughter has the Penne Vodka ($24) along with a side of Italian Long Hot peppers ($8) and I had the unfortunate task of being on ATKINS diet so I bypassed all these good things on the menu and went straight for the chicken Caesar salad ($19). The salad was huge and at least a 7 -8 ounce grilled chicken served sliced on top. The total bill BEFORE the gratuity came to $179.95 + $11.93 tax for a total of $191.88 (before tip). The ambiance of Filomena Lakeview was really, really nice. We ate on their covered patio at high top table and it was really nice sitting there on a beautiful day. Anything to criticize? Not really. I didn't think the prices were out of line with any other restaurant for what they charge and the portion sizes were all very large. Nothing was skimpy at all. Six of us on a Sunday. Waited about five minutes before being seated. Restaurant is old school charming. Dark woods and dim lighting. They sat us at a long table/booth combo in the back of the dining room. Waitress was great. Complimentary bread and their famous peppers brought out when drink order was taken. I ordered French onion soup and the white mussels appetizer. After about 10 minutes I was informed they didn't have enough mussels to fill my order, could they give half clams and half mussels. Of course I said yes. For me it was a win win. Now digging into that bread. I could have been very, very happy with that warm bread and roasted peppers. Oh my gosh. Peppers are outstanding. Dinner and soups brought out. My French onion broth was good but the cheese needed to be broiled a bit longer. The gooey cheese sunk to the bottom of the broth and made a glop in the turbine. Broiling a little longer so it's caramelized will prevent that. Fried onions a nice touch to presentation. Mussels and clams. First, white, garlic butter broth was flavorful. Both types of shellfish were extremely small. And the mussels were hard to get out of their shells. There was nothing wrong with my food. I guess I expected more. Soup broth, peppers and service above average. Will I return? Probably. For the peppers. read more

Our server Bella was so sweet and attentive. They had a bunch of Christmas festive specials. We had the fried green tomatoes covered in crab meat and vodka sauce (best bite of the night) and the stuffed mushrooms with crabmeat (8.5/10). The French onion soup was delicious, hot and cheesy with crispy onions on top and not overly salty. The Burrata was good but the prosciutto wrapped artichoke with salad and cheese was so much better. The combination of flavors and textures made for a delicious bite. We sat outside and with the ceiling fans it was actually a little chilly. Ever feel like your presence is an inconvenience to the staff that is supposed to make you feel welcome? #1 They couldn't figure out how to expand a reservation from 12 to 14 and have everyone sitting at the same table. Mind you, this is 3 pm, and two tables within eyesight could have accommodated our group that remained vacant during and after our meal. 4 of our party had to sit separately, creating the feeling of a "kids' table. When I approached the manager about this on our way out, his response was less than satisfactory. And yes, we complained to the hostess on the way in to no avail. #2 Asking folks what they would like for their entree while not yet putting in the appetizers order after less than 5 minutes of looking at the menu is sending a message. "Hustle up, folks". When we told her to come back after the appetizers arrived, she was more than put out. #3 Please train your staff on the proper etiquette for wine service. Filling the Walmart stemware to the top of the glass may be a way to try and get the table to drink faster and order more wine, but it is not a method to allow folks to enjoy their beverage. I requested that she allow us to pour our own wine on two different occasions, and she ignored me and continued to pour glasses to the top. #4 Food was adequate. Caesar salad, $2 up charge for a plate as small as your hand, no anchovies on the plate. The Sinatra steak was cooked to medium, even though I ordered rare, still tasty. The crab on top had not been seasoned, and the shrimp were overcooked. Wife's veal dish was "not as good as last year", smaller portion. Arriabiata was enjoyed by both our boys. #5 Plates were taken away before folks were done with their entree. Inexcusable. Once a year, the family gets a chance to dine together, and this was an unsatisfactory experience. When the average entree is $40+, and the total bill was $1100, you need to be better. read more

Never a bad time here. I make this a must stop when I am in town and usually sit at the bar. Brandon is the most genuine, upbeat, positive and attentive bartender I have come across in my 25 years of work travel. The whole long hot thing was a first for me since I'm not from the area but I've grown to like it. Give this place a try but if you're going for happy hour get there before 5, it gets very busy. I do go to Filomena's. They sometimes have really good lunch specials. I really love the mussels in red or white (very good). I love that they give you peppers with your bread for the table. Nice touch. The service is always good. And the restaurant is classic and updated with great outside seating. Always good ambiance. My negative comment is their drinks are expensive. I order an Old Fashion and it was like $18.00 which is crazy. Overall I definitely recommend for lunch or dinner. read more

My wife & I enjoyed our Dining experience at Filomena-Lakeview the other night. It was our first time there .. so we weren't sure of how it would go. The bar area was packed .. & .. everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. We had cocktails that were excellently prepared. The restaurant has a very nice " vibe " to it; interesting decor .. but .. a warm & friendly atmosphere. The food was spectacular. We were able to get a table with just a few minutes notice on a Tuesday evening, but if you're heading in for dinner, a reservation is recommended. They have a full service bar that was packed, and the bartender seems to have a big personality. Our server did a great job. No long wait time for any part of our meal. We got in early enough that the restaurant wasn't noisy and packed, although it got busier as the evening wore on. There is outdoor seating in the enclosed patio with space heaters if the weather's not too cold. Food was absolutely on point. Salads were crisp, crab cakes came out with a nice, crusty exterior, and my husband wolfed down the gnocchi, so I can imagine it was delicious. Portions are large enough for two (or leftovers for lunch), so we didn't order anything off the dessert menu, but I'm pretty sure I heard tiramisu and creme brulee from the next table over. Went there for a light lunch with my wife around 1 p.m. It was a Friday, December 1st, and the parking lot was surprisingly full. The hostess let us know the only searing that was available was in the bar area because they had 3 separate events going on, which explains the parking lot being full. Taking a table in the bar area was fine with us because we didn't feel we were dressed properly to sit in the dining room. From what I observed, they had 2 waitresses covering the tables around the bar, and the bartender was taking care of customers sitting at the bar. Before I get to the food, I have to say how pleasant and efficient our waitress was. She had a large workload, but she didn't reflect in her demeanor towards any of her customers that she was under stress or angry about her situation. On the contrary, she was overly attentive to us, and from what I saw to all her customers. We sat close to the bar, and I also noticed how joyfully the bartender went about serving the large number of people sitting at the bar. He took food orders and made drinks with a smile on his face, and he joked happily with customers. I ordered the Crab Bisque. It was tasty and enjoyable it could have used more lumped crab, in my opinion. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. I also had a Ceasar Salad with grilled shrimp. The lettuce was crisp, and the dressing was plentiful. It definitely needed more freshly shaved Parmesan cheese. The grilled shrimp were perfectly grilled, and they were a nice size, but I only got 3 (you pay extra to add shrimp). The salad was a decent portion, and I think if you order grilled shrimp, 6 would be the proper amount to complement the size of the salad. Of course, it would cost more for 6 shrimp, but it would be worth it. I give the Ceasar Salad 3 stars only because of the amount of shrimp and the lack of freshly shaved Parmesan cheese. My wife ate the peppers and onions with fresh bread, which was excellent, and she also ordered French onion soup. She looked at the soup and immediately showed me that the broth was very light, which indicated that it may be lacking flavor. Upon tasting it, she was disappointed because, as she had suspected, it lacked flavor. She isn't one to normally send something back, but she returned the French Onion soup and ordered cheesesteak egg rolls. She gave the French Onion 0 stars (obviously) She enjoyed the cheesesteak egg rolls. She said they tasted like they were homemade. They come with ketchup for dipping she did say it would be nice if they had more than just ketchup for dipping. She gave the cheesesteak egg rolls 4 out of 5 stars. I had an Irish coffee. Coffee, Baileys Irish Cream, with a shot of Jamison. It was very good and a nice warm-up on a rainy afternoon. 5 stars. read more

Had high expectations for this place! Our service was great, and waiter was great. Mango peach mojito was sooo good. Bread basket gives you 3 types of bread, yet the best one was the normal looking bread with sesame seeds on the outside (disappointing). We got muscles and oysters, oysters were very small, mussels with red sauce (just ok). We got the steak Sinatra (filet with crab meat & shrimp on top) and the daily vegetable (carrots, zucchini, squash, broccoli & cauliflower) and mashed potato's. Our house salad was a small bit of plain lettuce with oil & vinegar on it. No tomato's, no cheese, no cucumbers, no croutons, simply just lettuce (disappointing) . Entrees come out and I'm not sure what I was expecting but this wasn't it, we tried a few bites and just looked at each other. $56 for a meal and it was very mid. Hardly any flavor at all, we were both very disappointed. We skipped on dessert thinking it would just be a wash at this point. My husband and I had our third date here over a decade ago. About five years ago we had a few lackluster experiences and stopped coming. So a few days ago he decided to surprise me with reservations. When we pulled up he saw the look on my face. He had forgotten why we stopped coming, but I always try to have an open mind so we went in to begin our evening. I started with an Aperol spritz and he did an Old Fashioned. Their signature roasted peppers arrived with a bread basket filled with bread that can best be described as an after thought. We decided to do the arancini as an app, which came out super fast. Six small rice balls, which were good, despite lacking in presentation. I looked over the specials and thought their stuffed pork chop sounded good. I asked our server what it was stuffed with and she said cheeses and breadcrumbs. So I decided to try it, since it also came in a brandy cream sauce which I enjoy. My husband got the sachetti with sausage. Our server came out and informed me that the menu was wrong and the pork chop was indeed NOT stuffed. I was grateful she took the time to tell me and I switched to the shrimp francaise. Our house salads were also forgettable with lettuce in a vinaigrette and not much else so I saved room for my entree. When it arrived, I immediately felt disappointed. I have only had this dish once in a well known Italian spot in Philly, but it was phenomenal. Here, there were two large soggy shrimp, linguini, and little lumps of crab in a fishy sauce. I thought the shrimp would have a crispy outer coating, but it just seemed like it came off in transit. The dish was super fishy, which was a big reason why I was let down. My husbands pasta dish was fine, but nothing to get excited about. Since we were celebrating Valentine's Day we asked about their desserts after watching the tray being passed around overhead all evening. We were eager to see our options. Instead of bringing out the dessert tray our server just listed them. We went with the triple chocolate mousse cake which was the best part of our dinner. Overall, I think our tastes have changed over the last decade. We started coming here in our 20's when we still enjoyed chain restaurants and fast food. Now we prefer quality over quantity. While Filomena Lakeview is beautiful on the outside, the food quality is basically liken to an upscale diner. I really wish I could rave about this place because I rarely rate anything below a 4, and I know everyone is working very hard in our current economy. Stopped in earlier this week with my hubby for happy hour. We sat at the bar and ordered pizza, cheesesteak egg rolls, a beer, 2 glasses of Chianti wine & a martini. Bartenders were attentive, food came out hot, and generous wine pours. The bar area was nice and fairly crowded for mid-day but we did go over the holiday break. I needed a half-way between two cities spot to dine with a family member -- two hours' drive for each of us. Lovely, gracious people. Nice lunch menu. Generous portions. Good food. Great value. The interior looked charming, but we asked to sit on the terrace on a mild spring day. The only disappointment was that there was no lake view: the patio faces the parking lot. There was a lake across the road, and about 1/2 mile away. And no non-alcoholic beverages beyond coffee and soda, though the drink menu was interesting. read more

Met my friend for lunch today, it's been a while since we've been here, and I was craving the Fuji apple salad. Today I was disappointed to see that the salad which is more expensive, is now much smaller. There was a good amount of chicken, but there was barely any lettuce, so it wasn't much of a salad, as it was a plate of chicken and toppings. It used to be served in a big shallow bowls and now it served on a dinner plate. I guess today is the last time I will have that salad. read more

Update : went back, forgot I already reviewed this place : I had high hopes for Filomena's, but our experience was a complete letdown. The food was incredibly disappointing. We ordered the mussels in red sauce, and they tasted like they came straight from a frozen bag--zero freshness, just bland and rubbery. The shrimp fra diavolo was equally underwhelming; it lacked any real flavor or spice, and they have the audacity to charge $40 for it. I've had better dishes at a diner for half the price. To make matters worse, when we brought this up to the manager, she was dismissive and argumentative, showing no interest in addressing our concerns. It's clear they don't value customer feedback. Save your money and avoid this place--there are far better options out there. read more

We went to Filomena for lunch after meeting up with my cousin! The service was extremely outstanding! We received free drinks and antipasto on the house, and was constantly assisted with anything we needed. The food was pretty decent/average for a more pricier Italian cuisine, but it didn't disappoint either. We sat outdoors (since it was beautiful out) and the outdoor seating had newly built heaters above the seating area. The vibes and atmosphere definitely was my cup of tea. Indoors was a little more darker and intimate, but who would say no to sitting outdoors on such a beautiful day? read more

Been here two times now and both meals were phenomenal. I had a pasta special (homemade vodka bolognese) and a crab pasta dish - the amount of crab I received on my plate was a shocking amount and I went home extremely happy. Service has always been high.
