On my last visit, it was a total of 10 people in our group and the customer service was great. We were all able to pay with separate checks... Always a perk. The waiter was super super friendly and kept our coffee refills going. Inside it is busy which could lead away from the quiet ambience, but I didn't mind it at all.

She said okay, but then did not return to our table for another 20 minutes to actually take our order. We were left sitting there waiting despite already telling her we were ready to order. I completely understand that restaurants get busy and that servers can be stretched thin. However, the lack of attention to our table made the entire experience frustrating, especially at a restaurant where I've had such consistently good service in the past. Unfortunately, the food was also not up to the quality I've come to expect from Cinder Bar. To make matters worse, after eating there, I became extremely sick with symptoms consistent with food poisoning. I normally wouldn't let one bad experience erase years of positive ones, but between the extremely slow service, disappointing food, and becoming sick afterward, this experience was bad enough that I no longer feel comfortable returning. It's genuinely disappointing because Cinder Bar has been one of my favorite restaurants since they opened, and I have recommended it to others many times. First the entire dish lacked seasoning plus salt. Then red tomatoes were used and we all know what happens when you try to fry one. It turns to water after you cut it. The lump crab is what probably made this dish pricey but 3 thinly slices of a red tomato caught me off guard. Now for the final knock out: I ordered the Bone In Pork Chop and impressed that I was asked how Iiked it prepared? I said 145 degrees. She said, you mean well- done. I stated no, that would be in a range of medium. Lo and behold, it was fantastically preparation temperature, but it came topped with the same peppers and onions concoction that came out with the bread. I had no idea that this was a smothered situation. My broccolini was also a mystery. The mashed potatoes were mid. We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink at the bar, and we were so impressed by how friendly the bartenders were. They were engaging and social. They set off our evening on a high note! My Pink Jaguar cocktail was beautiful and caused quite a buzz among the bar patrons! We opted to sit outside, and we are glad we did. The space is open and breezy but fully covered. No need to worry if a passing shower makes its way overhead. Steamed clams in white wine and Truffle fries for the table to start. Yum! All entrees are accompanied by a house salad or Ceasar salad. Our group ordered the Limone Chicken, Chicken Sfiziosa, Steak Frite, and the Eggplant Meatballs/Risotto. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. We loved everything. It didn't have much chicken, I didn't notice any of the cheese or avocado ranch that was supposed to be on it. It was full of shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes. They were able to accommodate our request, and we had a beautiful view of the river. It was a little cloudy, so the sunset wasn't spectacular, but the scenery still made for a wonderful evening. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We started with the Fried Fresh Mozzarella Bruschetta, and it was outstanding. The fresh tomatoes, perfectly fried mozzarella, and balsamic reduction came together beautifully. The mozzarella was cooked just right--not overdone to the point where all the cheese oozes out--which made for a great bite every time. Cindy ordered the Scallop Risotto, served in a lemon butter wine sauce. The risotto had a great consistency--not watery at all--and the scallops were perfectly tender. The flavors were fresh, rich, and well-balanced. I chose the Frutti di Mare Risotto, featuring sautéed mussels, clams, jumbo shrimp, crab meat, broccoli rabe, and cherry tomatoes. This dish exceeded my expectations. Every piece of seafood was tender and flavorful. I did encounter a little sand in a couple of the mussels, which can occasionally happen with shellfish, but it certainly wasn't enough to take away from an otherwise fantastic meal. To finish the evening, the staff brought out a celebratory chocolate birthday cake for Cindy. It was incredibly moist with a delicious cream cheese filling--the perfect ending to a memorable birthday dinner. He knows how much I love a white pizza, but he doesn't enjoy tomatoes and the usual white pizza toppings. He was excited about this style of white pizza so we ordered that and a regular pepperoni. The pizza arrived hot and the crust was fantastic. The perfect flavor and consistency. We will 100% be ordering pizza from Tuscan Bistro again.
