Great place for bite in the morning! A very friendly welcome as soon as we walked in helped set the tone for a great breakfast! It's a no frills interior but the food is excellent and the service even better. I had the awesome potatoes that had melted cheese onion and bacon - it was on point. The service was very friendly, but they were understaffed for a Sunday morning, and the wait was long with no one checking back in after we got our food. Breakfast was solid, but nothing special. Ambiance is very dated and tables were uncomfortably smushed together. read more

This place is strange. You have to order at the counter, there is no wait service. You have to get your own water from the dispenser as well. I might be able to live with that except for the food. I ordered a chicken club and my Mother ordered the chicken tenders. The chicken club is just a small sandwich with some lettuce, tomato, bacon and mayo with a nasty tasting chicken tender on top. In fact I'm pretty sure anything you order that has chicken in it, you're getting a chicken tender. There must have been a sale. It tasted like old oil too. So, to recap, there is no wait service at all and the food sucks. Also, I asked for extra mayo on the side and I got two tiny Hellman's mayo packets. Of course the ketchup is a no-name brand and so is everything else in this place, except for the mayo. It all tracks... Very strange. Don't expect a discount for working your own table and bussing your own dishes. The only thing worse than doing all of this yourself, is the prominent "Tip Jar" at the register. Do the absolute minimum for me and then ask me to tip you. That always works out for the best. Lol. I'll never go here again. Terrible, just terrible. read more

Don't know what happened, we used to really enjoy going to Jackie's, but something changed. Paper plates, plastic utensils, no wait service at the table?? Food was ok, but it almost felt like a serve yourself cafeteria. After going here dozens of times over the years, we will not be going back. read more

Not fancy but good food as said by other reviewers. Think good diner food --not Jean Georges or The Crabtree Kittle House. The breakfast wrap and pancakes were as described by others: very good. Also, great that Jackie's is open on Sunday mornings--not the norm in the Cooperstown area especially before May. read more

We ate there 3 times during our stay. Small place but great food. Boys played at dreampark so it was good for them to be able to get a good meal in since they were stuck with the food there all week. read more

Let's get right to the point - if you are rolling in from the "big city" expecting a country "hidden gem" that has been reviewed by the NYT food editor, STOP. Move away from the door. Return to your Bimmer! You will not be happy here. Head north to Cooperstown, or west to Oneonta. Good luck. If you want a good breakfast (been here several times, but only for breakfast), friendly service, and nothing fancy, STAY. Food comes out fast, ample servings, quality ingredients, well prepared. Coffee cup quickly refilled. Want it done "your way"..... they will accommodate. Three-egg omelette will leave you stuffed. Try the breakfast wrap. Cleanliness is what you would expect for a place frequented by the local work force. Not spotless, but not unhealthy. Actually, above average for your local "diner". Get over it. read more

Other reviews about this being solid breakfast, but not fancy, are spot on. Here with my son for the weekend and we really enjoy (search out) 'diner' breakfasts. You know ... the places with generic dishes, 2" thick coffee mugs that hold 4oz of coffee served at 1000°, and utensils that bend if you push too hard ... but that have great eggs, sausage and hash browns/breakfast potatoes. I have been here twice now..... When I rate eateries I am apt to rate them based on what the restuarant aspires to be. This is in contrast to people who review eateries in comparison to all other eateries in the general area. So, this place gets two stars. It is about as good as it looks. Looking for something local, fresh and home cooked go to Jackie's. Their food is down home cooking I would expect from my local neighborhood diner. Try the biscuits and gravy with basted eggs and awesome kitchen potatoes. Their omelets are nice and thin and their homemade cinnamon rolls are great. My friends and i have been eating breakfast at jackie's for 20 years during the baseball hall of fame induction weekends and we wouldn't eat anywhere else. the breakfasts are great (i got the grandslam almost everytime) and the friendship that we have developed with jackie, her sisters and their mom and late dad were a bonus and the main reason we have eaten there on saturday, sunday and monday of that weekend. sadly, i won't be able to eat there anymore and i already miss not just the great food, but seeing the smiling/friendly/fun faces of my friends. i miss them all very much, but you don't have to.. go in eat and say hi to a special group of people in my life. love you all, andy read more

This restaurant is not some place I would visit again. The food is average and overpriced. My daughter ordered chicken fingers, fries and apple juice and it cost us $15.00. The total bill was over $40 for 3 of us for lunch once I included a tip. read more

This place is a diamond in the rough. Just a cute little down home breakfast place! Service was great and very friendly, food was very good and they came by several times with coffee. I will be back for sure on my next visit to Cooperstown! Definitely worth a few extra minutes drive!! read more

Don't ordered a cheese burger. The burger was so thin that it would have taken at least 4 of them to equal one of McDonald's!! And it was dry, tasted like sawdust even with a lot of ketchup. Also the price was an outrageous $6.95, what a ripoff. read more

Oh boy. Where to start? First let me begin by saying I am not a boojee princess that only eats in 5 star restaurants. I enjoy a good dive, love me some diner food and crave pub grub. But this place. Oh lord. Start with the parking lot. If i have to dodge mud and puddles the size of Goodyear Lake to make it to the front door--you should consider blacktop and a better drainage system. Make it to the front door that says "where the locals come to eat"--i feel like the locals are being abused and taken advantage of. Now we're in the front door. And there is carpet. Dirty, stained carpet. Ever hear of hardwood? Tile? Linoleum?? Much easier to keep clean and it doesnt smell. Walls are dirty, countertops are sticky. I seriously just want to leave but there is nothing else open and we're starved. We suck it up and stay. Find a table in the back--all the tables in the back are the portable, fold away kind and they all sit about 8 -10 people. I dont really like sharing a table with people i dont know but luckily that wasnt an issue cause other than 2 or 3 old timers taking up the only single tables in the place, this joint was empty. Tables are sticky and look a lil haphazard. Did I mention that there is no heat in the back section? In December? In Upstate NY?? Menus are dirty. The waitress was sweet and polite. I order a ham and cheese omelet, the husband ordered a breakfast sandwich and homefries. The omelet is so salty that it could be used as a salt block. The breakfast sandwich is DELICIOUS.
