The food itself was very good--both burgers were delicious. Unfortunately, after we placed our order, the service dropped off completely. We waited about an hour for our food, with no check-ins, no water refills, and no acknowledgment of the delay, even though our server walked past our table multiple times. At one point, I had to get up and find someone to talk to. I asked a man near the front for a manager, explained we had been waiting an hour, and pointed out our table. No one ever came over afterward to follow up. We were later told there was a large party, which is understandable--but that's not something customers or servers can control. A simple check-in or acknowledgment would have made a big difference. Instead, we were told we "should have said something," despite no one coming to the table. At the end, we waited again for the check, and when my daughter calmly tried to explain our frustration, the server spoke over her and said, "I'm almost 50--I've been doing this since I was 17," which came across as rude and unprofessional. The food was good, but the lack of communication, attentiveness, and management involvement made this a disappointing experience.

The bartender rolled her eyes and then made a very inappropriate gesture, pretending to put a gun in her mouth with her fingers, before walking over to us with a smile as if nothing had happened. My husband and I own a bar/restaurant ourselves, so we completely understand that everyone has bad or frustrating moments while working in this industry. But I felt like this was completely unacceptable behavior, especially right in front of customers. It's certainly not something we would accept from someone working in our establishment. We had our drinks and left shortly after. The pub and dining room were full. It was the Polish buffet night . Everything went well except for one thing. A bar patroon was grazing at the buffet using his finger to sample and eating them at the buffet. He visited the buffet at least 3 times. The last time he began making sausage sandwiches at the bread station and proceeded to leave the restaurant with everything folded up in a cloth napkin. In the future I would suggest monitoring the buffet. Some people might need some supervision on etiquette.

The rooms are quaint and have everything you could need for a short stay. Slept better here than I do at a regular chain hotel, and it comes with GORGEOUS lake views and access to a massive front lawn. Have yet to be here when the restaurant is open, but I'm now on my third stay for work and am so glad I found this gem. If you're here on a day where the restaurant is closed, be aware there are very few local restaurants and meals may require a 15-20 minute drive away.

I started with the Saranac Blueberry Blonde, which is a refreshing beer that smells exactly like blueberry muffins - it's so good! The bartender also brought out a delicious bread basket to start and the olive oil it came with was amazing - it had chunks of roasted garlic in it. For my entree, I ordered the Penne a la Vodka with shrimp, which came with a house salad. It was fantastic! It had a good amount of shrimp in it too. I can tell that the staff takes pride in the gem of a restaurant they work in. We decided to sit at the bar, and we might have visited Sharon Tavern on their worst day. They were short staffed, and the cook in the back was furious about something. Our server at the bar, David, greeted us and gave us the run down of the specials of the day. I'm not kidding that it reminded me of an upscale steakhouse offering and experience. The food did not disappoint. My wife had ahi tuna, and I had a New York strip with scallops. The scallops were served with light breadcrumbs and a wonderful butter garlic filled ramekin dish. I also ordered some mozzarella sticks, they were really good as well. If you are in the area, this is a must stop. Enjoy this gem!
