Key lime pie with extra graham cracker crust chunks

Went here with some girlfriends that I only get to see a few times a year, so we like to go someplace nice. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and this was a perfect spot. Service - impeccable. Isaac was our server and he was ready for us as soon as we were seated. He took a moment to remember all of our names and that made the experience all the more memorable. Our table was wobbly, so Isaac moved us to another one. All the food was served promptly and Isaac was refilling our drinks for us regularly. I forgot my receipt when I left, so I called in and a manager texted me a photo within minutes. Drinks - dirty marty, extra dirty. Lemon Drop. Redheaded Marg. Tequila Sunrise. Three of the drinks were served in martini glasses and came with a sidecar of extra to refill the drinks - nice touch and makes you feel like you are getting more. The dirty marty wasn't dirty enough, so she got an extra sidecar of olive juice. Food - yes yes yes. App was the Guacamole from the specials menu. Nothing unique, but very fresh. Trout almondine with couscous. She loved the fish, but the couscous was a little heavy (it's the pearl kind, not traditional). Filet and baked potato. She ate every bite! Presentation on the potato was next level. Crab cakes, fries, coleslaw. I got to try this - the crab was huge melt in your mouth chunks. I'm coming back and that is what I will order - hands down. I had the cilantro grilled shrimp special. It came with seasoned rice that had tiny diced veggies in to make it so fresh and light. I also asked for the roasted cauliflower on the side. This was topped with parmesan and some kind of oil drizzle. Loved it! The star was definitely my shrimp - perfectly grilled and I loved the smoky flavor. Cilantro sauce was great and I should've asked for more. Dessert - Presentation was very impressive for all the food, but the desserts were made with extra love. We got a key lime pie and the peanut butter pie. Decadent. Extra. Amazing. I will let the pictures do the talking, but we were all moaning.

Just enjoyed an incredible dinner here last week, and I highly recommend making reservations, this place is officially a new hot spot! The atmosphere is fantastic, featuring a beautiful full bar area and cozy, inviting booths. The Food & Drink Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. They include so many thoughtful, flavorful touches that really elevate the meal. * To Start: We had the deviled eggs (which come with amazing candied bacon), the Hong Kong Shrimp, and the charred artichoke served with a phenomenal tarragon remoulade. Even the Caesar salad stands out because they use fried croutons! * The Mains: I had the perfectly grilled medium-rare filet with a baked potato, and my wife loved the Texas Redfish. * Dessert: We finished with the carrot cake, which was excellent. For drinks, they have a great selection of beer, fancy cocktails, and wine. A huge plus: the wine is a very generous 200 ml pour! Service & Experience The service was top-notch from start to finish. They even provide warm towels to clean your hands after the finger foods, which is such a nice, classy touch. Between the excellent service, the vibrant atmosphere, and the outstanding food, we had a wonderful experience. This restaurant is highly recommended, and we will absolutely be back!

Decided to give this place a go. Was definitely excited to have it not far from where we live. The place is nice inside and very open, but be prepared to yell. It is very loud Had a reservation and was seated right away. Took a minute or two before someone came up to take our drink orders. I ordered Barone Fini Pinot Grigio and my SO ordered a Paper Plane cocktail. At least 2 times someone came by with red wine meant for an other table. So, their service is a bit scattered. For appetizer, we ordered the deviled eggs, which I'm normally very picky about, but these were delicious. My SO ordered a club sandwich, the dish he gauges restaurants on, and I ordered the Texas Redfish with the cream sauce on the side. His club looked and tasted amazing. He missed the center piece of bread that is typical in a club sandwich, but he still enjoyed it. The shoestring fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly My fish arrived incorrectly and had to remake it. Despite that mistake, when I finally received my plate, the fish was cooked perfectly. Also, the mashed potatoes and cauliflower sides were delicious. I would definitely order again. Will definitely return for sure. I think there are a few service issues that need to be worked out, but overall we enjoyed our experience

. The deviled eggs were amazing!

Just enjoyed dinner here last night, I recommend reservations this is a new hot spot! Denver was our waiter he made us feel so welcome and delivered superior service! My Martini was perfect 1st round , second one was wrong they corrected it immediately! Our food was all delicious, we had the deviled eggs and Hong Kong Shrimp to start both amazing . I had the their daily special of Chicken piccata, done perfectly! My friends had the Salmon and the hamburger, we loved our food!! We shared the chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream absolutely so moist and delicious!! The atmosphere is very nice with a full bar area and cozy booths ! We will be back!! Highly recommended!!

That was the Kabob special Sorry for the dark photo but the restaurant was on the datkside
    Ben G.

The food was good. The service was attentive. However, the value just wasn't there. 60+ dollars out the door for one person drinking water for a kabob seems excessive It was literally over a bit of rice and that's all the proportions were a little on the small side as well . The restaurant seemed very nice and clean. The music wasn't too loud, but the lightning was a little bit on the dark side if you wanted anything besides a date night ambiance.

Ambiance is great, good for business lunch or group celebrations. Also fine for casual meal. Its nice and very comfortable, with an upscale vibe Deviled eggs come with candied bacon. The caeser salad is really good, the croutons ate fried. Artichoke has nice char and tarragon remoulade. They even provided warm towels to clean hands after finger foods French fries come with truffle seasoning. They are very much shoe string, skinny fry texture. The burgers are half pound patties. Plenty of LTOP burger toppings. Burger is juicy and bun nicely toasted. The baked potatoes was loaded with sour cream though I wish there were a little more cheese for balance. The potato is nicely salted on the outside Ordered mac with the burger and it came with fries. The waitress remedied that and they comped the Mac because it took about 10min to arrive after everything else There are so many little nice touches to the food that make this so flavorful. The service was also excellent. I would recommend this restaurant and would come back

Saturday night and thank goodness we had a reservations because the place was packed! As you walk in, you are immediately greeted by a hostess team with a smile and a warm hello. The horseshoe bar divides the two dining areas and adds to the fine dining vibe. The feel is a very classy ambience. Service was certainly a high point as no less than four people were waiting and serving us. We never felt rushed and all the attention made us feel wanted and appreciated for coming. Definitely five star service. We began with cocktails. My wife tried the whale flower and enjoyed it. I thought cocktail prices were very reasonable. We began with their special appetizer, the Emerald Coast shrimp. A large plate of perfectly fried large shrimp with a touch of spice. Two different dipping sauces that were both delicious. Perfect start and I highly recommend it. For entrées, we tried the roast chicken and the ribeye Maui. The chicken was a whole half chicken syrup with mashed potatoes. Tender, juicy, and very good. The ribeye was cooked as ordered and tender. It was drenched in sauce more than I expected, but it is noted on the menu. Not sure I would order the ribeye again. It also comes with mashed potatoes, but I swapped for a gigantic baked potato instead. We also shared a side of broccoli which was perfectly cooked. Portions were so large we could not finish.

Walked in & was immediately greeted & seated. The venue was large & nice. For appetizer we had Hong Kong shrimp & then I ordered the chicken breast with lemon au jus, with mashed potatoes & added the lemon broccoli This chicken was decadent & so juicy. Came with three pieces & the side of au jus. So fulfilling & hearty. My mom had the salmon with lemon brocolli. I will say her salmon had to be sent back half way through for not being cooked well. They took care of it swiftly and prepared my mom another one to go, at no inconvenience or charge to self. I give them 5 stars for handling that mistake so professionally. Also the food was amazing and atmosphere was great, our server mat was great. Would definitely give them a return visit

We were so excited to see J. Alexander's arrive in Plano! We've frequented J. Alexander's in other states for many years and always loved it. It's a wonderful add to the north DFW area for mid-tier dining. The food and decor are fantastic! We tried a few dishes we've always loved and they were all still delicious. We started with the spinach queso appetizer, which we highly recommend. We loved this dish years ago and it still tastes the same! We also shared Emerald Coast shrimp, Texas Redfish entree, fries, and Mac & cheese. Portions are huge and again all dishes were prepared wonderfully and delicious. The reason for 4 stars is service delays. Our server was very nice, but our visit was over 2.5 hours. We had a reservation and were seated promptly when we arrived. Then, the delays started. We wanted to blame it on the kinks of being a new restaurant, but some parties arrived after us, ate their meals, and were leaving while we were still waiting for our table to be cleared. Although the food was good, it was a very slowwww experience. I won't bore you with other details, but it was definitely an inexperience/time management issue with our server. At the end of the day, we'll still be back and highly recommend.

Peanut butter pie. Tasted like way to much cream cheese

This place is fine. Meat and potatoes mainly. I've been to this location twice. The service is always exceptional. The wait staff is always very friendly and present when you need them. My water never got more than half empty before it was filled with fresh cold water. They don't do ice unless requested, but that isn't an issue since they serve it so cold and ofter. The ambiance is typical of a slightly upscale American place. You can smell the wood fire from the kitchen when you walk in My first visit I opted for the burger and fries. The burger was well cooked and seasoned nicely. The fries are okay if you like very thin shoestring style. Thinner than McDonalds and much crispier. I think I prefer something that still has that creamy potato interior that these fries did not have. They are all crunch and get cold quickly. We left feeling happy and satisfied. On my second visit I didn't want something so heavy. I read over the menu and it all looked quite heavy. I opted for the Alex's salad with shrimp add on. The shrimp came out a little over cooked and didn't have much if any seasoning on them. the salad was pretty plain with some basic veg and croutons, nothing to write home about. It felt like airport food. The salad didn't come dressed and all were served on the side. Normally I don't like them leaving it up to the patron to mix their own salad since the table does not come with a mixing bowl and a pair of tongs, but on this occasion I think I dodged a bullet. The blue cheese dressing is pretty strong. I like blue cheese for the most part and usually have a hard time finding a place with bad blue on the menu. This was a very pungent blue that had a sharpness that didn't sit well on my palate. I decided just to salt and pepper my already sad salad. I did my best to enjoy everything, but I just felt like I went to the wrong place for lunch today. My advice is come hungry and wanting meat and potatoes. There isn't much left of the menu if you don't want that. All the dressings were pretty high in fat, so this isn't the place when you are trying to get a beach bod for the summer.

Chocolate cake. Good but a little too decadent for me.

I made a reservation for 5 which I recommend doing. We were seated promptly in a cozy corner booth perfect for our party of 5. Someone quickly came by to take our drink order. Soon after our main Server Whitney came by to introduce herself. She was wonderful and attentive. As for food, their specialty in my opinion is comfort food. I would recommend the Prime Rib, Roasted Chicken, and Chicken tender as entrees. The fries and mashed potatoes they come with are also delicious. They also have the best Asian salad in DFW. Favorite dessert was the key lime pie. The artichokes and calamari apps were also a hit. We enjoyed the overall experience.

The only two things I remembered from this place was that the food was salty, my husband also commented that on his food--and he likes salt! Second, with my daughter and her many food allergies, we decided to go with plain chicken wings. They mentioned the seasoning was just salt and pepper. My daughter mentioned it being spicy so I tasted it and yes there was seasoning other than salt and pepper. I was very annoyed because she's allergic to gluten and some seasonings contain gluten. I notified the waiter and assumed we were getting a new order. BIG NOPE! What they did was RINSE the chicken and reheated it. How do I know this? Prior to sending it back, I cut a flat of the chicken wings in half for my daughter. When we got the "new" wings, the cut up flat was still on the plate. I was so shocked. Never seen that in a restaurant. At this point, we were all pretty much done with our meals and a storm was brewing so we just wanted to get out of there. I will not come back.

It was my first trip to downtown Plano which is a nice quaint strip of bars, restaurants, and shops that reminded me of any of the small one/two stop light towns around my home of NC, even though you're really surrounded by metro Dallas highways and city. The atmosphere, the food, the service, was perfection. I'll do my best to describe, but if I was creating a restaurant, I'd tell you to go here, and that is what I want. The restaurant itself is very nice, certainly upscale enough for a super nice date night, but also casual enough at lunch time for a business casual outfit. The area itself is relatively small and intimate, I'm going to guess 10 or less tables, and a spot for a few people at a small bar. Right beside the bar is the grill where you can see, hear, and smell the food being cooked! The owner was our waiter, and just like the rest, service was plenty formal yet also laid back. He did everything how you'd expect in a fine dining restaurant, but also was comfortable in a baseball cap and laid back fine with having a conversation. He was happy to tell us about the restaurant itself, the interior which he built out himself, and was enthusiastic about what he was serving and told us everything about the meat and sides. It was great seeing someone so proud and excited to tell his costumers about every aspect of it. He alone would make me want to be a regular visitor. But then there is the food! Perfection! All four of us ordered the Wagyu NY Strip, so he just told us he would serve it on a board with plenty of sides to fill us up. We didn't even have to tell him how we wanted the steak cooked, he said everything was cooked to 135 and it came out absolutely perfectly! Quality tasty meat, true wood flavor, it was what I normally have to cook myself at home to get! The sides were great as well, charred broccoli (which I'm a sucker for, marbles potatoes, fries, all wonderful! The menu is not huge, but I think that's perfect. Do what you do well and you don't need a multi page menu full of random dishes. BAR-Ranch knows what they are and they excel at it! It's not cheap, but personally I'd rather have one meal of exceptional quality over multiple cheaper meals that leave me feeling "meh that was fine". Personally I'll be back and can't wait for another opportunity to try it!

There's not a lot of vegetarian, but for meat / steaks and tex mex this is a great spot. Portions are huge!! You'll definitely have leftovers. There's a good drink selection too. My favorites were the apps - I love fried okra. It was divine. I also enjoyed the stuffed jalapeño poppers. Don't skip out on dessert. The berry cobbler and ice cream was such a delicious treat! Then you can dance the night away after to some live country music.

The band was amazing. We planned on dinner and drinks while listening to great music. We watched an…read moreentire show sitting at a table and were never approached by a waiter. The guy with the buzz cut and long shorts is clearly a relative of the owner. The slim guy with the glasses had a different section and he was on top of his game. If we ever come back we will make sure and sit in his section. I paid money to see a concert, and missed 4 songs because we had to walk inside to get a drink. I have been coming to Love and War since 2014, it is not the same my friends. The 1995 Bronx guy with the long basketball shorts should work at the DMV. He is absolutely atrocious as a waiter. I need to stress this..... he must be a family member. No one that bad could ever keep a job. Be warned, if you want to have any semblance of a good time, find the guy with the glasses and sit in his section. Avoid the angry thumb shaped man with the buzz cut. He clearly has a trust fund, your tips don't matter.

The food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance was wonderful and perfect for a catch up with my friend: warm, inviting, and perfect service! The burrata salad was outstanding, and the pasta was equally impressive. We also shared the bread pudding for dessert, which was incredible and the perfect ending to the evening. The lobster dishes and wine selection were excellent as well. What really stood out, however, was the exceptional service: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. To top it all off, our entire dinner came to under $100, which felt like tremendous value for the quality of the food and experience. I only wish we had a location in Los Angeles. Highly recommended!

This location felt like I was inside a fancy boat To start - the most unique and delicious chips I've ever had. I'm coming back first and foremost for the chips! Haven't seen chips this full of flavor before The prickly pear refresher was amazing - just mint, lemon, soda and prickly pear puree? This is one I'm going to make at home The same chips are used for the tuna dip but I'd like to note their pickled jalapeno - that was fire. So much flavor here Shrimp salad was great too, I enjoyed how balanced the dish was The baked alaska was a mix of chocolate and strawberry on the inside - everything was done from scratch. One recommendation is to add a layer between the ice cream and marshmallow is possible The black wagyu gold something tomahawk was divine - maybe better than any bbq I've been to. Nothing was spared here I also got the key lime pie, it was more grainy than I expected and the key lime was mostly in the reduction (?) to be poured on Overall, tomahawk, crackers, prickly pear drink (forgot to mention crab cake) were my favorites Staff was friendly too!
