They are known for their homemade dough for both their pastas and pizza. My grandchildren loved their Margarita pizza. It looked yummy. We got a red sauce spaghetti with meatballs that was out of this world amazing. The homemade pasta soaked up the sauce and it was so full of flavor. The white sauce pasta had spinach, pine nuts, mushrooms, and chicken. It was very good. I ordered an antipasto salad that was huge. It was phenomenal. It was packed full of Italian meats, cheeses, cucumbers, pickled onions, and olives. It was an absolute delight. Service was on point. The zucca chips were a nice mix of crispy and soft (I have ordered this many times) Calamari fritti was served with marinara and delicious calabrian aioli (I make this at home and their version doesn't skimp out on the pepper, which is hard to find) Italian cobb had fantastic oregano vinaigrette and incredibly fresh pepperoncini. Let me start with the positives. AMBIANCE is lovely and I love the fresh floral decor. It's a lively and vibrant space. The vibe feels happy and comfortable. I love the openness and giant booths. It's clean and cozy. The BIG bar area is a nice touch. Also the indoor dining patio seating is great. SERVICE was great my waitress was pleasant, polite and professional. FOOD was a bit disappointing for me. The Pig pizza looked amazing. It tasted fresh and was piping hot. However, I think all the ingredients make it a bit salty. My palate wasn't feeling it. The Bolognese Pasta also looked fantastic. However, the meat sauce was lacking in flavor and seasoning. For this to be the house specialty it was lacking in taste. It was decent, but not great. We had excellent service at North Italia and the atmosphere was excellent; unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the expectations. We started with the calamari fritti. Both of the sauces were delicious - I really enjoyed the spicy Calabrian aioli. I found the calamari though to be a bit soft and chewy and it could have used a harder fry to make it crispy. For entrees, we shared the chicken Parmesan, spicy rigatoni vodka and the braised short rib Marsala. The chicken itself was flavorful and crispy, but the rigatoni that came with it was under seasoned and flavorless. The spicy rigatoni vodka had great flavor, but had very little sausage or pancetta. The standout protein was the short rib. It was packed with flavor and beyond tender. The accompanying risotto and Brussels sprouts felt like an under seasoned, afterthought though. We love North Italia, generally! This location just simply isn't my fave. They don't have the best patio area or the best views. The ambience is mid - not horrible just average. More than anything, we had awful service. The table we were seated at was also right next to where everyone was waiting for theirs. Made me very nervous and uncomfortable. Our waitress didn't check on us often, and got our order wrong. We had to wait a very long time due to the error, and were given nothing to make up for it. My fiance and I visited this restaurant for the first time earlier this year with two friends (who have been before and loved it). Both of these items were phenomenal and while the bolognese was very tasty, I have to give major props to the pizza! I am always a big fan of hot honey on pizza and this one was really good in pairing the hot honey with the prosciutto, plus the arugula on top added some nice freshness to it all. I had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant that left me feeling ignored and unwelcome. I placed a to-go order and waited at the clearly marked pickup/to-go counter for several minutes. Multiple staff members walked by, made eye contact, and continued helping other customers without acknowledging me or even asking if I needed assistance. What made the situation worse was watching other people who arrived after me get greeted and helped right away while I was still standing there waiting. I want to add i'm indian and so were the other three gentlemen waiting for our orders it genuinely felt like we were being intentionally overlooked. As a customer, you expect at least basic acknowledgment or courtesy, especially when you're standing at the designated to-go area. After waiting far longer than necessary just to be acknowledged, the experience left a really bad impression. No one apologized for the delay, and the lack of attention felt disrespectful. Restaurants should treat every customer with the same level of service and respect, whether they're dining in or picking up an order. Unfortunately, because of how I was treated, I won't be returning. I hope the management takes customer service seriously and ensures that everyone is treated fairly and acknowledged when they walk in. read more
