Key lime pie with extra graham cracker crust chunks
    Maggie T.

Went here with some girlfriends that I only get to see a few times a year, so we like to go someplace nice. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and this was a perfect spot. Service - impeccable. Isaac was our server and he was ready for us as soon as we were seated. He took a moment to remember all of our names and that made the experience all the more memorable. Our table was wobbly, so Isaac moved us to another one. All the food was served promptly and Isaac was refilling our drinks for us regularly. I forgot my receipt when I left, so I called in and a manager texted me a photo within minutes. Drinks - dirty marty, extra dirty. Lemon Drop. Redheaded Marg. Tequila Sunrise. Three of the drinks were served in martini glasses and came with a sidecar of extra to refill the drinks - nice touch and makes you feel like you are getting more. The dirty marty wasn't dirty enough, so she got an extra sidecar of olive juice. Food - yes yes yes. App was the Guacamole from the specials menu. Nothing unique, but very fresh. Trout almondine with couscous. She loved the fish, but the couscous was a little heavy (it's the pearl kind, not traditional). Filet and baked potato. She ate every bite! Presentation on the potato was next level. Crab cakes, fries, coleslaw. I got to try this - the crab was huge melt in your mouth chunks. I'm coming back and that is what I will order - hands down. I had the cilantro grilled shrimp special. It came with seasoned rice that had tiny diced veggies in to make it so fresh and light. I also asked for the roasted cauliflower on the side. This was topped with parmesan and some kind of oil drizzle. Loved it! The star was definitely my shrimp - perfectly grilled and I loved the smoky flavor. Cilantro sauce was great and I should've asked for more. Dessert - Presentation was very impressive for all the food, but the desserts were made with extra love. We got a key lime pie and the peanut butter pie. Decadent. Extra. Amazing. I will let the pictures do the talking, but we were all moaning.

Just enjoyed an incredible dinner here last week, and I highly recommend making reservations, this place is officially a new hot spot! The atmosphere is fantastic, featuring a beautiful full bar area and cozy, inviting booths. The Food & Drink Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. They include so many thoughtful, flavorful touches that really elevate the meal. * To Start: We had the deviled eggs (which come with amazing candied bacon), the Hong Kong Shrimp, and the charred artichoke served with a phenomenal tarragon remoulade. Even the Caesar salad stands out because they use fried croutons! * The Mains: I had the perfectly grilled medium-rare filet with a baked potato, and my wife loved the Texas Redfish. * Dessert: We finished with the carrot cake, which was excellent. For drinks, they have a great selection of beer, fancy cocktails, and wine. A huge plus: the wine is a very generous 200 ml pour! Service & Experience The service was top-notch from start to finish. They even provide warm towels to clean your hands after the finger foods, which is such a nice, classy touch. Between the excellent service, the vibrant atmosphere, and the outstanding food, we had a wonderful experience. This restaurant is highly recommended, and we will absolutely be back!

Decided to give this place a go. Was definitely excited to have it not far from where we live. The place is nice inside and very open, but be prepared to yell. It is very loud Had a reservation and was seated right away. Took a minute or two before someone came up to take our drink orders. I ordered Barone Fini Pinot Grigio and my SO ordered a Paper Plane cocktail. At least 2 times someone came by with red wine meant for an other table. So, their service is a bit scattered. For appetizer, we ordered the deviled eggs, which I'm normally very picky about, but these were delicious. My SO ordered a club sandwich, the dish he gauges restaurants on, and I ordered the Texas Redfish with the cream sauce on the side. His club looked and tasted amazing. He missed the center piece of bread that is typical in a club sandwich, but he still enjoyed it. The shoestring fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly My fish arrived incorrectly and had to remake it. Despite that mistake, when I finally received my plate, the fish was cooked perfectly. Also, the mashed potatoes and cauliflower sides were delicious. I would definitely order again. Will definitely return for sure. I think there are a few service issues that need to be worked out, but overall we enjoyed our experience

. The deviled eggs were amazing!

It was new in Plano so we tried it setting is nice and service was ok it just took a long time to get waited on and get our food the kitchen seemed a bit dysfunctional and confused the food was ok but nothing stood out that said I need to come back it was just ok the roasted Brussel sprouts were not roasted seems like steamed or microwaved seriously bad form guys

Just enjoyed dinner here last night, I recommend reservations this is a new hot spot! Denver was our waiter he made us feel so welcome and delivered superior service! My Martini was perfect 1st round , second one was wrong they corrected it immediately! Our food was all delicious, we had the deviled eggs and Hong Kong Shrimp to start both amazing . I had the their daily special of Chicken piccata, done perfectly! My friends had the Salmon and the hamburger, we loved our food!! We shared the chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream absolutely so moist and delicious!! The atmosphere is very nice with a full bar area and cozy booths ! We will be back!! Highly recommended!!

That was the Kabob special Sorry for the dark photo but the restaurant was on the datkside
    Ben G.

The food was good. The service was attentive. However, the value just wasn't there. 60+ dollars out the door for one person drinking water for a kabob seems excessive It was literally over a bit of rice and that's all the proportions were a little on the small side as well . The restaurant seemed very nice and clean. The music wasn't too loud, but the lightning was a little bit on the dark side if you wanted anything besides a date night ambiance.

Ambiance is great, good for business lunch or group celebrations. Also fine for casual meal. Its nice and very comfortable, with an upscale vibe Deviled eggs come with candied bacon. The caeser salad is really good, the croutons ate fried. Artichoke has nice char and tarragon remoulade. They even provided warm towels to clean hands after finger foods French fries come with truffle seasoning. They are very much shoe string, skinny fry texture. The burgers are half pound patties. Plenty of LTOP burger toppings. Burger is juicy and bun nicely toasted. The baked potatoes was loaded with sour cream though I wish there were a little more cheese for balance. The potato is nicely salted on the outside Ordered mac with the burger and it came with fries. The waitress remedied that and they comped the Mac because it took about 10min to arrive after everything else There are so many little nice touches to the food that make this so flavorful. The service was also excellent. I would recommend this restaurant and would come back

Saturday night and thank goodness we had a reservations because the place was packed! As you walk in, you are immediately greeted by a hostess team with a smile and a warm hello. The horseshoe bar divides the two dining areas and adds to the fine dining vibe. The feel is a very classy ambience. Service was certainly a high point as no less than four people were waiting and serving us. We never felt rushed and all the attention made us feel wanted and appreciated for coming. Definitely five star service. We began with cocktails. My wife tried the whale flower and enjoyed it. I thought cocktail prices were very reasonable. We began with their special appetizer, the Emerald Coast shrimp. A large plate of perfectly fried large shrimp with a touch of spice. Two different dipping sauces that were both delicious. Perfect start and I highly recommend it. For entrées, we tried the roast chicken and the ribeye Maui. The chicken was a whole half chicken syrup with mashed potatoes. Tender, juicy, and very good. The ribeye was cooked as ordered and tender. It was drenched in sauce more than I expected, but it is noted on the menu. Not sure I would order the ribeye again. It also comes with mashed potatoes, but I swapped for a gigantic baked potato instead. We also shared a side of broccoli which was perfectly cooked. Portions were so large we could not finish.

Walked in & was immediately greeted & seated. The venue was large & nice. For appetizer we had Hong Kong shrimp & then I ordered the chicken breast with lemon au jus, with mashed potatoes & added the lemon broccoli This chicken was decadent & so juicy. Came with three pieces & the side of au jus. So fulfilling & hearty. My mom had the salmon with lemon brocolli. I will say her salmon had to be sent back half way through for not being cooked well. They took care of it swiftly and prepared my mom another one to go, at no inconvenience or charge to self. I give them 5 stars for handling that mistake so professionally. Also the food was amazing and atmosphere was great, our server mat was great. Would definitely give them a return visit

We were so excited to see J. Alexander's arrive in Plano! We've frequented J. Alexander's in other states for many years and always loved it. It's a wonderful add to the north DFW area for mid-tier dining. The food and decor are fantastic! We tried a few dishes we've always loved and they were all still delicious. We started with the spinach queso appetizer, which we highly recommend. We loved this dish years ago and it still tastes the same! We also shared Emerald Coast shrimp, Texas Redfish entree, fries, and Mac & cheese. Portions are huge and again all dishes were prepared wonderfully and delicious. The reason for 4 stars is service delays. Our server was very nice, but our visit was over 2.5 hours. We had a reservation and were seated promptly when we arrived. Then, the delays started. We wanted to blame it on the kinks of being a new restaurant, but some parties arrived after us, ate their meals, and were leaving while we were still waiting for our table to be cleared. Although the food was good, it was a very slowwww experience. I won't bore you with other details, but it was definitely an inexperience/time management issue with our server. At the end of the day, we'll still be back and highly recommend.

Peanut butter pie. Tasted like way to much cream cheese

This place is fine. Meat and potatoes mainly. I've been to this location twice. The service is always exceptional. The wait staff is always very friendly and present when you need them. My water never got more than half empty before it was filled with fresh cold water. They don't do ice unless requested, but that isn't an issue since they serve it so cold and ofter. The ambiance is typical of a slightly upscale American place. You can smell the wood fire from the kitchen when you walk in My first visit I opted for the burger and fries. The burger was well cooked and seasoned nicely. The fries are okay if you like very thin shoestring style. Thinner than McDonalds and much crispier. I think I prefer something that still has that creamy potato interior that these fries did not have. They are all crunch and get cold quickly. We left feeling happy and satisfied. On my second visit I didn't want something so heavy. I read over the menu and it all looked quite heavy. I opted for the Alex's salad with shrimp add on. The shrimp came out a little over cooked and didn't have much if any seasoning on them. the salad was pretty plain with some basic veg and croutons, nothing to write home about. It felt like airport food. The salad didn't come dressed and all were served on the side. Normally I don't like them leaving it up to the patron to mix their own salad since the table does not come with a mixing bowl and a pair of tongs, but on this occasion I think I dodged a bullet. The blue cheese dressing is pretty strong. I like blue cheese for the most part and usually have a hard time finding a place with bad blue on the menu. This was a very pungent blue that had a sharpness that didn't sit well on my palate. I decided just to salt and pepper my already sad salad. I did my best to enjoy everything, but I just felt like I went to the wrong place for lunch today. My advice is come hungry and wanting meat and potatoes. There isn't much left of the menu if you don't want that. All the dressings were pretty high in fat, so this isn't the place when you are trying to get a beach bod for the summer.

Chocolate cake. Good but a little too decadent for me.
    Carla B.

I made a reservation for 5 which I recommend doing. We were seated promptly in a cozy corner booth perfect for our party of 5. Someone quickly came by to take our drink order. Soon after our main Server Whitney came by to introduce herself. She was wonderful and attentive. As for food, their specialty in my opinion is comfort food. I would recommend the Prime Rib, Roasted Chicken, and Chicken tender as entrees. The fries and mashed potatoes they come with are also delicious. They also have the best Asian salad in DFW. Favorite dessert was the key lime pie. The artichokes and calamari apps were also a hit. We enjoyed the overall experience.

The mango sauce on them was amazing. These were some of the best shrimp I've ever had in my entire life. The spicy salmon crispy rice was really interesting. I love the dry ice effect. The spicy blackberry margarita packs a nice punch. The French 75 was pretty and tasty. I truly enjoyed the experience. Who doesn't love a good happy hour. The fact that they offer Saturday happy hour is superb. It was packed with happy people enjoying my favorite hour of the day. I was satisfied, full and left in a good mood! I will definitely be back with friends. Bonus: The bathroom was very clean. I loved the mouthwash dispenser. Good food equals good mood. Truluck's does a body GOOD! We had a reservation, which is recommended because the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night in May. We opted to sit on the patio because the weather was gorgeous. I am not sure if the patio is climate controlled in the summer or not. But on that night we were there, the weather was mild so it was very pleasant. They have happy hour on Saturdays so I started with an IPA on tap and the wife had a Prosecco, also for happy hour prices. This is a tapas restaurant so I will try to remember all that we had. Manchego cheese board: excellent. The crisps and jam were perfect with the cheese. Potato torilla: excellent. The flavors melded very well and it was very tasty. It's filling so keep that in mind. Ceviche de jalapeno: excellent. Not too spicy, the shrimp and seafood was fresh with no fishy smell. The plantains were cooked perfectly, not greasy. Brisket on crostini: excellent. Forget the name but they are a winner. Brisket is good quality and the flavors come together nicely. Chicken skewer: excellent. They smartly use chicken thighs so the meat is juicy and tender. Tuna tartare: good. It actually was my least favorite. The quality was very good but it did not have much flavor. I needed some heat, some acid, something to give it a kick. We were absolutely stuffed and did not try dessert. Our server Marcellus was excellent. Very helpful and pleasant throughout. He never disappeared for too long. Overall, we had a great meal and will undoubtedly return here again.

My husband ordered a poke bowl which he said tasted ok but there wasn't much in the way of fish, and my filet on my salad wasn't medium as requested; however the biggest issue was that my daughter was served a raw ground beef patty for loco moco, not medium or rare, but raw. You could smell raw ground beef. We struggled getting waitstaff's attention for quite awhile and both my husband and I made eye contact with the manager in the blue shirt wearing a headset. He looked our way, sent some one else in a tan shirt and walked away from the main dining room inside. We explained that the patty was raw. His response was dismissive with an explanation that it was always cooked medium, carried the plate away, even though I explained that it wasn't "medium". We waited a long time for a replacement. The replacement was delivered by someone from the kitchen and it was done, but was served with fresh white rice rather than fried rice and was missing the avocado requested. We had to wave someone once again to request avocado. Our waitress eventually returned, apologized, and gave us an appetizer comp card. Our bill showed the loco moco removed for "flavor" and then re-added to the bill. There are other better restaurant choices in the area, so I'd recommend skipping this one.

She was informative told me the entire history of the restaurant and has a true passion for what she does The food absolutely makes! This is literally transported me back to the oceanfront on the seashore. The best lobster I've had since the area! I loved that they actually had their proper migonette served with oysters that were chilled and properly shucked... I spent twice the amount of money, a big name and this almond pot defend and restaurant and teach all of them! Walking out the simple effective decorated restaurant really felt like I was gonna walk back out to the beach and feel spray hitting my face. Well, done! The crab stuffed sole had no flavor other than salt which even then could've used a bit more. The whipped potatoes had horseradish mixed into them. The flavor notes did not go together. I did try the sampler in which the shrimps tasted very fishy. The smoked salmon dip was ok and the tuna nacho was actually very tasty. The service was superior with the host seating us immediately and our server checking on us constantly. The ambiance is nothing fancy just some metal chairs and tables. I was honestly disappointed. I spent almost $100 for terrible food.

This place is SOO SOO good. If you're wanting seafood in the area in a casual setting, this place…read moreis it. We tried a variety of things including two types of oysters, but I have to say this is my favorite fish and chips in the area. For the cost you get SO much (3 large pieces) of fish, fries and a few hush puppies. And it was nice and fluffy, so so good. Definitely my new favorite go-to place in Frisco for seafood. I feel this place doesn't get enough love! Look forward to going back!

We started with half a dozen raw oysters and they were fresh and delicious! We also ordered a dozen grilled oysters. They were okay, but nothing spectacular and probably not something we would order again. Hubby ordered the fish special that was on the board that day. I can't remember exactly which fish it was, but he said it was just okay. I ordered the snow crab with Cajun butter and unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment. The crab meat was extremely mushy and the texture was just not good at all. I tried several different legs from the cluster just to make sure it wasn't only one bad piece, but they were all the same, so I couldn't finish it. The corn that came with it also tasted old and had a strange sour taste, so I didn't eat that either. The Dragon Fruit Pineapple Mojito, however, was DELICIOUS! Definitely one of the highlights of the meal and I would absolutely order that again. One thing that was a little strange was the timing. Considering how slow it was when we were there, the food seemed to take a little longer than expected to come out, and my drinks took even longer. Overall, it was a mixed experience for us. The raw oysters and mojito were great, the grilled oysters and fish special were just okay, and unfortunately the snow crab entrée was a definite miss. I'm willing to give Anaya's another try and order something completely different if we happen to be in the area, but based on this visit, I wouldn't make a special trip back just to eat here.

One: because it was so close to my hotel but two.. mostly because it meant I could grab delicious seafood AND a sweet dessert somewhere else in the hall all in one trip without having to brave the heat again twice! I ordered the Connecticut lobster roll, which is served warm with melted garlic butter and chives on a toasted split-top bun. I paired it with a yummy side of french fries. The roll was so perfectly delicious and tasted amazingly fresh.. Im drooling just thinking about it. It was so fantastic and even better with a little squeeze of fresh lemon juice in each bite! I don't eat my seafood with butter (any seafood), so having that lemon on hand made it just right. I didn't care much for the pickles on that come on the side but I'm sure others might. The french fries were also the ultimate crispy accompaniment to round out the meal. The counter service staff wasn't super overly friendly, but the food itself was so great that I really can't complain--plus, in a fun, bustling food hall setup where you're just ordering at the counter and walking away, you really only need a quick transaction anyway. I'll definitely be back next time a lobster craving hits!
